Hi! Call me Razzberry! I'm studying Pokémon nutrition and agriculture atm (specifically berries), since I'm hoping to go into those fields as a profession in the future. Asks are open, so if you have any questions for me or about Pokémon- like any nutrition advice for a specific Pokémon- go ahead! :)

The Tuffbury Nursery fundraiser event was a while ago now, but in case anyone who couldn't attend was wondering, it went well! We raised enough on the day to pay for a whole new set of beds for the nursery Pokémon, and several were adopted into good homes!
There's a reason this update is coming so late, though! Guess who ended up taking a Pokémon home?
(Don't mind Pecha at the side there!)
Anyway, this is Toasted Marshmallow- Toast for short! She's the most bitey swirlix I've ever met, but she means well lol (she's just teething at the moment since she's pretty young)! I'll probably post updates about how she's doing every now and again, so look out for those!

Tuffbury Nursery Fundraiser Timetable!
Event timetable for the Tuffbury Nursery fundraiser just got announced! Here's the itinerary for the day!
The first raffle draw will include prizes like exp. candies, a variety of berries, and great balls! The second raffle draw will include prizes like rare candies, a variety of items such as shell bells, and even a few TRs!
The Pokémon playtime segment will be a really good opportunity for anyone interested in adopting to interact with the nursery Pokémon and even see how your Pokémon will get along with them before the adoption event! The group will mostly consist of applins who were left behind after Luvdisc Day, but there will be others!
(The second raffle draw will be taking place during the Pokémon playtime segment, so don't worry! You'll have have the whole hour to hang out with your potential new Pokémon!)

Applin are an especially popular Pokémon for this in Galar. Route 5 is the only place outside of the Wild Area and licensed orchards in Galar that applin can be found, so Tuffbury Nursery specifically sees a massive influx of them coming in- sometimes more than they can reasonably take care of on their usual budget.
This is where we come in!
The nursery is hosting a bakesale this Sunday in order to help fundraise for toys and bedding for the Pokémon under their care, as well as an adoption event in the evening for anyone interested in meeting a new friend! I don't personally work for the nursery, but the owners are family friends, so I'll be working one of the tables in the afternoon, and it would be such an amazing help if anyone able to attend came on down to buy a few baked goods!
I'll post the specific event times when they're announced, but we hope to see you there! Have a good day everyone! :)

So uh, I’ve never actually worked with untamed dragons except for relocation. Any tips on getting them to stop trying to maul you? @swordsman-but-pokemon
Depends on the Dragon.
Usually smacking them around a bit works, but again, it depends on the dragon. If they're actively trying to eat you, fight them back. If they mildly hate your guts, offer gifts.
One of the two usually works.
Anon, this may be different for Dragons, but for the Pokémon I've had to "convince" not to kill me:
Enter the space with visible confidence. If you look unsure, afraid, or uncomfortable, they will take advantage of that.
Be prepared for physical altercation. If they lash out or attack you, you need to be prepared to fight back if needed. Of course, that's not to say just beat the shit out of a Pokémon with reckless abandon, but don't be afraid to defend yourself.
This may seemingly contradict point 2, but reassure the Pokémon that you don't want to hurt it. If you can convince it that you just want the best for it, and aren't trying to trick it or kill it, then the situation can be handled with minimal violence. If this doesn't work, and theres a large chance it won't, then be prepared to either go head-to-head to tire it out or make it submit to you through force. That's how many Pokémon learn their place in the wild.
If you'd rather not face the Pokémon head-on, then you can also send your own Pokémon out and battle it until it's knocked out and you can handle it without fear of getting attacked. When it wakes up, it'll probably be too exhausted or in too much pain to fight you, so you can take that opportunity to show it you're safe, then heal it.
Adding to the above, you really need to be careful about which Dragons you use physical intimidation on. A lot of the smaller Dragons you can make yourself look bigger, be really loud, that sort of thing, and they'll take that as a show of dominance and that you're not to be messed with. But if you try that with, for example, a Garchomp or a Salamence, they'll take that as a challenge and you can get seriously hurt if you don't know what you're doing. If you're already going into the encounter knowing you're gonna smack the Dragon into submission, with your Pokémon or your own hands, then by all means use physical intimidation. It might make them respect you more.
^ Exactly what I did with that one Haxorus. I'm larger than them, and I know how they function, so I knew I could face off and most likely get a positive result. That's another other thing to add, if you do face off, make sure you're aware of said Dragon's dominance/territorial.. Habits? The way they display that. Haxorus use a lot of posturing and not actually directly fighting, which is how I managed to get out of the encounter with only a few slices on my arms, which were more just because they were in the way.
I did something similar when I caught Zweilous. I It may not have gone that well. I've still get a scar on that chunk of my arm it bit out. But I caught it and we've gotten along really well ever since.

Not a dragon expert in the slightest but I do a lot of work with berries and! If you have any access to them, I'd really recommend keeping dried kebia or babiri berries on you if you know you're going to be encountering some dragons and don't want them to jump straight to attacking you! This is because babiri, kebia, and pecha berries make up a large portion of a wild fairy-type's diet, so they associate the smell with them and tend to back down, if only a little! Drying them just brings the scent out!

What Pokémon would you recommend for crying with when you’re sad
all of them (except Hattrem). when you form a strong bond with a pokémon (excluding Hattrem) you'll find that while a lot of them might not "get" your struggle, most pokémon have the potential to be really sweet and empathetic (not Hattrem) and will try and comfort you, long as you treat them well and be a true friend to them (if you attempt this with a Hattrem i am not liable)
It was an unusually warm day yesterday, so me and the boys hung out in the pool for a bit. Pretty nice all things considered.
