@favdream replied to your post: { i guarantee no activity today whatsoever, but...
( i hope tatsuya has a nice day. and that he stops doing motorcycle noises, that nerd. )
[Performs a rendition of the “happy birthday” song with nothing but various motorcycle engine noises.]
{ i guarantee no activity today whatsoever, but it’s tatsuya’s birthday today if anybody wants to wish him a good one! boy needs some love anyway tbh. }
help me remember: not everything in life is a battle. i don’t need to carry a knife everywhere i go. help me learn: how to shed my armor without shedding tears. how to open up my arms without raising my fists. help me understand: i can be vulnerable, and still be strong. i can be made of steel, and still be soft. help me realize: if life is a battle, i don’t have to fight it alone.

thicved:
Trust his father to be blunt.
It had been an aspect which Akira felt rather envious of from time to time, never dancing around a subject and saying things straight forward. Steadily the teen began to feel confident in himself and his own choices, each step taken along with his friends helped him to become a person whom Akira could one day feel proud of.
Quietly taking note of the disheveled demeanor of his father, pondering how exactly the man managed to get to Yongen anyway. The distance between their home and here were quite aways away. It dawned on Akira what exactly his dad had to do in order to get into the cty,the fact he even went that far spoke volumes to him and make his heart hurt. It seemed that once again the teen ended up causing his parents trouble. He felt frustrated. None of them could risk contacting each other in fear of being caught by the probation officer, or worse having their lines tapped.
Perhaps that hadbeen a fairly cynical view. Unfortunately, experience taught Akira better. Especially now. Quite frankly, the thief did not trust the authoritive figures to ‘play’ by the rules.
The country had not been too keen on two fathers raising a child together. Frowning on the relationship. Akira knew well and good at the conversative history that his homeland had, his fathers being together merely aided in rushing the process of tearing custody away from them. The prejudice made him ill. The corruption ran deep.
Akira loved his parents more than anything else in the world, wanting to do something to relieve the problems which he caused. There were no regrtets tat day, saving the woman from the abusive man, regardless of the fact she turned on him, what was done had been done. The teen would do the same thing again, in a heart beat. Unable to stand witnessing unjustices being comitteed to the innocent.
Something he hoped his parents approved.
“Dad…”
His composure broke for a moment, softening. It touched his heart to hear that from his dad thus making him feel worse for the incident. Akira shook his head. “You don’t have to apologize, I… I get it. Neither of you could risk it.” They were trapped like mice ina maze.”I’m glad that you came.”
Akira gave a tiny smile. “Sakura-san’s… strict. He’s a good guy, but blunt like you are. Smart and he pushes me to do good and stay in line. Teaching me too cook too, so maybe when I get hom ei could make you and father something? I promise I won’t burn down the house!”
Falling silently, and considering his words. “One of the friends I met here, she looked into the records and she pointed out that the ruling had been strange. I don’t know if it will help, maybe if you and father with Uncle Katsuya working together, you might find something useful?” A long shot, yet it provided a chance to look over anything that might be helpful. With his memory still clouded, Akira wasn’t much help.
“As for school…” He hesitated slightly. “Do you… are you aware of the Kamoshida incident?”
[Tatsuya was truly fortunate to have a child as understanding as Akira. Hell, at his son’s age, he'd have been the type to resent his parents for what he would likely interpret as abandonment... regardless of whether they behaved like his own uncaring and inconsiderate folks. Beyond that, merely hearing the voice of the child he’d been forcibly separated from for months now...it was incredibly relieving. He merely wished that Jun had been able to accompany him on this trip, but...he had a multitude of responsibilities back home that he couldn’t simply ignore.]
[A slight smile formed on his features now, albeit plagued by hints of vulnerability, primarily due to the emotional nature of this entire reunion -- one that wasn’t even legal, and had to be hastily made so as to avoid any potential interference by his son’s probation officer. Tatsuya was washed over by feelings of immense gratitude that he could be here, finally speaking to his beloved child instead of allowing threats to overcome him. It...was reassuring to hear that Akira was perhaps just as glad as he was that he’d made the journey. Thus far, it had proven to be worth the effort.]
[His arm gently fell atop the other on the counter as he began listening intently to his boy’s description of his new caretaker; thankfully, the description provided didn’t detail any significant faults in his attitude, which Tatsuya was comforted by. His and Jun’s primary concern with entrusting their only child to some stranger involved what sort of character he might be -- and they would be horrified if their son had been subjected to the care of some monster. They certainly didn’t believe that the law would handle the matter with the caution it deserved, after it’d ripped their son out of their hands under the grounds that they wouldn’t suffice as proper parents.]
[...Nonetheless, it appeared as though Akira had taken a shine to Sakura-san, a revelation that further consoled the brunet. His offer to cook dinner once he got back, with the assistance of his cooking lessons from his current caregiver, was one that was met with a small chuckle from Tatsuya. He couldn’t picture his child attempting to cook and not setting the house on fire, but... he’d certainly bring up the matter with Jun once he was able to return home and report on their son’s status. Maybe they could set their parental paranoia aside for one night and see how far their son had come in his time spent away...]
...I’m glad to hear that you’re making so much progress. But... I’ll have to talk with Jun about letting you cook. As much as we trust you, we couldn’t bear seeing you get hurt. That being said, though...I’d like to see what you’ve learned here. Plus, I’m sure Uncle Katsuya would love to help teach you about the intricate field of cooking...even if he’s better with pastries than meals.
[That last bit was more of a jest than anything else, although...if Katsuya learned that Akira was delving into cooking, there was no doubt that he’d attempt to tutor the kid. Hopefully, that’d be one more thing to look forward to once he finally came back...]
[And speaking of Katsuya...the topic had shifted to the somber one of disputing the court ruling in Akira’s case. He’d already entrusted his brother as his first source for dealing with legal trouble, but perhaps if someone else had the ability to detect a discrepancy with his case...they ought to find further proof of wrongdoing with a little more digging. Who knew that his brother’s time spent in the force would be so useful now...?]
...It’s almost funny getting legal advice from your own kid...but you’re right. And we’ve already dragged Katsuya into it, trust me. With a little more digging...we’ll hopefully find something. Even if I’m here right now, we won’t give up on you. I promise you that.
[Once his little spiel was over -- Akira mentioned to subject of his school, this time reluctantly bringing up a name. That sort of reaction would elicit trepidation from any caring parent, as it did with Tatsuya -- his smile dropped completely once his son visibly grew hesitant. Incidents regarding his son’s school had been matters unbeknownst to both parents, and it was now that the father truly regretted the decision to concentrate on matters other than the academy their son had been sent to.]
...No...I haven’t heard anything about that incident. What -- what happened? [Both his expression and tone were riddled with an evident dread. Internally, Tatsuya swore that he’d crush anyone that had harmed his son, if such had turned out to be the case; there was no way in hell he’d let that slide.]
severepiratecrown:
He was never gonna run into a burning building again. His head ached, his eyes were watering, and he could swear everyone within a five-meter radius could hear his raspy breathing. This sucked. Not to mention the cuts he’d gotten from the glass, and the bruises from his spill out of the window, plus the second-degree burns from trying to break doors down…though he supposed he should just be glad they weren’t worse than second-degree.
“‘M fine,” he croaked, trying to take deep breaths. He wasn’t, but he didn’t think saying I think I breathed in too much smoke would surprise anyone. It went without saying. “We need t’get that cat back to its old lady owner. ‘S the only reason I went in there.” He tilted his watery eyes up to the guy that had saved him. That was no small feat–he doubted the guy knew he was in there, but the fact that he’d stopped to help was no small issue for the blond. “Thanks. ‘F you hadn’t shown up, I’d be dead.”
[...For some reason, Tatsuya doubted that his claim of being alright was entirely genuine. His eyes weren’t entirely gone yet ( fortunately ), so he could definitely make out a couple of nasty injuries from that endeavor...it was a tad unnerving to be blatantly deceived, but he decided not to press further right now. He’d...just insist on taking this kid to a clinic once they’d recovered enough to catch their breath.]
[Upon the mention of the cat, Tatsuya instinctively glanced back down at it...hopefully, it hadn’t suffered nearly as much as him and this kid. There weren’t any external wounds that he could see, but he’d still recommend checking it into any veterinary clinic that its owner could find. It was actually rather fortunate that the other male would be able to identify its owner, otherwise he would be in for the daunting task of investigating the matter himself. Beyond that, he also now had reasoning provided for the blond’s entry into the death trap -- a defensible one, at that. Tatsuya had entered just to ascertain that no lives would be consumed by the flames, so this kid’s spirit was rather admirable...even if it was a risky behavior that he’d likely wind up lecturing the kid on later.]
[Nonetheless...upon hearing that gratitude, Tatsuya simply offered a rather wry smile, feeling somewhat undeserving. His entire venture had been to ensure the safety of anyone trapped within...so it didn’t appear as much of a big deal in his own eyes, even if he did feel slight pride and gratitude of his own toward managing to save someone.]
...It’s...no problem, really. I’m...glad I was able to help. As for the cat...we’ll take it back home, but...I think we should both rest for a minute before we do. You say you’re fine, but...you seem pretty winded, yourself...
planeptuned:
A small, pouty frown was quick to overtake her friendly expression at the response she was given. Well that wasn’t helpful at all! This town (dimension?) is totally getting a bad game review.
“Weren’t you listening when I said I was lost? I’m not from around here, yeesh! Grumpy and hard of hearing? Better not wind up being a permanent party member, that’ll just take the fun outa everything! Just lead the way, guy, I don’t have all day.” While that was technically true, being a Goddess and all, it wasn’t really in her nature to abide by that fact. Besides, Nep Jr. could take care of things on the home front for a while. She was really good at that sort of thing.
Histoire was sure to throw a fit about Neptune leaving all of the work to her little sister when she got back, but that was a problem for future Neptune. Besides, her missing work wasn’t entirely her fault this time. It wasn’t as if she knew how to get back from her nation from here, after all. Sure, she should probably be working harder on getting home, but wasn’t there that saying about how you were supposed to just wait where you were when you were lost? Granted, that was usually something said to little kids so they didn’t get even more lost, but potato potah-to! If anything, this was all Histoire’s fault for not being able to contact Neptune sooner.
[...Alright, this bratty attitude was not what Tatsuya had signed up for. Actually, he hadn’t truly “signed up” for anything in the first place -- she’d approached him, and had the pretentious attitude of a little kid while speaking with him. This...was yet another reason that the brunet vastly preferred isolation, with only memories of childhood friends to keep him company. A disgruntled sigh emerged from him as he resorted to prying his lighter out of his jacket pocket once again.]
[Funny, how this odd habit had formed over the years of his ownership of this treasure. But...it was almost instinctive, now that he was faced with a burdensome situation that he desperately wanted to avoid. His lighter served as a form of solace for him, reminding him of better days ( while causing his heart to sink all the while as he reminisced over his prior friendships, all of which he’d “lost” ). Little did he know that he was literally serving as her previous internal description of an “emo main character” right now.]
[Finally, after opening and shutting his beloved possession out of habit, he set it back into his pocket and frowned as the girl threw a fit. Deciding to avoid conversation entirely at this point, for the sake of his own sanity, he gestured for her to follow as he exited their current building and headed for the nearest arcade he could find. Throughout their journey, he’d remained entirely silent, and only spoke once they’d arrived.]
[Their locale had likely been far from what she’d anticipated, however -- this arcade was filled solely with what she would likely consider “old-school” games, vastly different from the ones of her modern era.]
Happy now? Now, leave me alone. Please.

“Hey there, stranger, aren’t you just as sour as a pickle, huh? Well that’s all right, We need those grumpy NPC types every once in a while or fans will get bored!” She nodded matter-of-factly to herself. The guy before her had that serious emo main character sort of vibe going on, but she was the protagonist. Always. “Anywho, do you know of any good arcades around here? Help a lost gal out, would ya?”
[One question emerged within his mind as this random teenager approached him and casually addressed him as...a “sour pickle” and a “grumpy NPC:” what the hell was she talking about? Had he been born in a later generation, he might have some sort of clue as to what she meant by an “NPC” or “fans” -- but as things currently stood, he was merely left unsettled by this bizarre turn of events.]
[Quirked eyebrows, expressing his disbelief and utter confusion, and widened eyes gazed upon the purple-haired girl as she now began to speak of arcades. There were a couple of them around here, of course, but...the way she spoke implied that she’d never even been here before. He’d never encountered a lost girl with this sort of exuberant attitude...this entire meeting was nothing but “strange.”]
...Setting aside those grumpy...”NPC” comments, I...guess I know of an arcade or two around here. I...would’ve thought that most people would know about them by now, though...
