23. drunk kiss.

when drunk, tony is known to be a little less restrained, a little more free to say or do things that he may have been thinking of, but wouldn’t have said or done otherwise.  lately, his attention has been caught up by this ...  THING between him and thor, this flirtation ;  this fragile thing that is leading the two of them somewhere that neither of them know.

this thing that apparently includes kissing, now, ever since the incident a couple of weeks ago on the balcony.

so, yes, tony is drunk.  not terribly drunk, but tipsy enough that his tongue is loosened, enough that he feels no shame in wandering around the compound until he finds thor, waltzing right up to him and tugging him into a semi-private corner.  

❛  been looking all over for you,  ❜  he says, eyes dancing as he tips his head up to meet thor’s eyes.  ❛  c’mere, i wanna give you somethin’ ...  ❜  

tony rises up on tiptoe, hand cupping the other’s jaw, connecting their lips in a kiss.  warm and tasting a little of leftover whisky still on tony’s lips, it lasts only a few moments, but long enough that tony can savor it.  his thumb rubs across thor’s jawline, rough stubble against the pad of his finger, and when he breaks the kiss, he lingers longer than he means to, lips barely touching, breathing the same air.

he drops back down onto flat feet and gives thor a smile.  ❛  thanks.  ❜

every thought in his mind, every word on the tip of his tongue, everything he’d wanted to say upon seeing connor again — all of it is WIPED AWAY in an instant, swept up in the other’s arms and wrapped up tightly.  before he even has a chance to begin a single thought, connor’s lips are on his, and oh, oh, it’s ...  it’s ...

there aren’t words to describe the JOY tony feels.  he hums a surprised little noise into connor’s mouth, cupping the back of his neck to steady himself.  it only takes a moment for tony to LOSE himself in the kiss, mind stuttering to a stop at the feel of connor’s mouth against his, soft and so warm, warming up every bit of tony, down to his bones.  there are tears on his face before he could even put words to why.  

this is everything he thought he would never have, everything he thought had been taken away from him, now, suddenly, RIGHT HERE in his arms.

tony breaks the kiss, breathless, eyes wet and vision blurred.  he blinks to clear it, to focus on connor’s face, the face he can’t help pressing another kiss to.  ❛  ...  hey,  ❜  he croaks, laughing, burying his face in connor’s chest and holding him tight.  ❛  oh, god, hey, i ...  you’re BACK ...  i missed you.  ❜

          drawing and sketching had always been a hobby of his, that was for sure, but it was no lie that ever since tony came into his life, it had evolved into sketching him more than anything else. especially when he was so concentrated on a something like that – with his eyebrows furrowed slightly, tip of his tongue poking out the side of his mouth —- especially that. a grin appearing on his face, steve finished it off by putting more stress on that aspect through shadowing and lifted his head after hearing tony speak.

          he knew how hard it must be to work with only one arm – if nothing, he knew it through bucky. and despite not wanting to make tony feel bad about it, steve was aching with the need to assist him with anything and everything, his protective side over tony having doubled ever since the fight.     ‘ any chance i’m needed for something ? ’     he questioned as he walked up from behind him, a soft smile on his face as one of his hands rested on tony’s waist.

steve’s hand on his waist draws his attention from his project ;  a distraction now, yes, but not an unwelcome one.  maybe he’s due for a break — he’s not sure exactly how long he’s been working, at least a few hours, but it’s been long enough that there’s a crick in his neck, a slight ache in his right arm — phantom pain.  supposedly it never really goes away.  

tony lets out a heavy sigh, leaning back into steve’s touch, head bumping gently against the other’s chest as he tilts it back to look up at him.  he smiles back, heart melting a little at the soft look on steve’s face ;  the affection for tony that steve wears openly never fails to amaze him.  ❛  honestly, i could use a break.  maybe you could help me by pulling me away from my work for a few minutes ?  ❜

at that first touch, that first brush of loki’s fingertip against tony’s chin, tony’s eyes CLOSE, sliding shut out of instinct as he revels in the simple contact.  every touch is like a gift, something he wouldn’t take for granted.  before a moment has passed, his eyes are open again, no hint of his pleasure at being touched still remaining on his face ;  but he’s almost certain loki saw.

loki tilts tony’s chin up until he has no CHOICE but to meet the god’s eyes, clear with a glint of understanding — loki knows him, possibly even more than tony knows himself.  ❛  if it’s that clear, i think i can forgive your forwardness,  ❜  tony says, and his smile is a little more REAL this time.
