If it cannot break out of its shell, the chick will die without being born. We are the chick, the world is our egg. If we don't crack the world's shell, we will die without being born. Smash the world's shell, for the revolution of the world!
harumichi take on this post
white boy wednesday
So I’ve been gone for a while, mostly because work has been pretty intense for quite some time, but I think I’m ready to get back into posting stuff on a regular(ish) basis. For now though all I have are warm up sketches that I’ve compiled from the past few months…most of which are fan art. First batch are from Revolutionary Girl Utena.
I discovered this show almost two years ago and I have never been so deeply captivated and utterly blown away by any TV series, animated or otherwise. All of Kunihiko Ikuhara’s work is really amazing and definitely worth a watch, but Utena is, in my opinion, truly a masterpiece.
Also the sketches Utena and Anthy working out together were inspired by this post (x)

There are only around 1,500 native Cherokee speakers left, and most of them are elders
Little Cherokee Seeds is a program where mothers and babies spend all day with first language Cherokee speakers, speaking nothing but Cherokee, so that the babies become a new generation of native speakers. They're also teaching traditional skills and mothering practices to the mothers to pass on.
This is so so important for the survival of the language. These babies are on track to being fluent first language speakers, and they will be able to keep the language going for another lifetime.
I recommend checking out the little cherokee seeds facebook page!!
Little Cherokee Seeds is fundraising for a new program for the children ages 3 - 6 to continue their journeys as first language Cherokee speakers!
Donate here to help Wegi and the other Cherokee Sprouts grow!
listen I know anti-native racism is not specifically talked about a whole lot and also is deeply ingrained in American culture in a way that makes it difficult for a lot of people to recognize. And like I’m not going to tell someone they’re irredeemable scum for reposting the two wolves inside you meme or dressing up as a cowboy or not being super thoroughly educated on the history of thanksgiving. But at the end of the day the normalization and lack of education around Indigenous history and anti-native racism does not absolve you from your responsibility to learn about these things and to correct your behaviour. It should not be the responsibility of natives to coddle you just because your government didn’t spoon-feed you the history of it’s own worst crimes. You gotta do the work.
I should clarify: When I say "American", I am not talking about the United States. I'm talking about the Americas, and that absolutely includes Canada. This post is written by an Indigenous Canadian. My criticisms of colonialism and anti-indigineity in America do not and will never exclude the country whose anti-Indigenous policy i see and feel firsthand every day of my life.
