Dude, seriously suffering from a wicked book hangover on this overly sunny Tuesday in Texas... Insert something funny about hoping for no error notifications... yeah right! This will probably be pretty long because it is a 5 books series with 2 tie-in books (and another on the way). The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins Reading order: Fighting Destiny Taunting Destiny Escaping Destiny Seducing Destiny A Demonās Dark Embrace Playing With Monsters Unraveling Destiny Sleeping with Monsters (ETA TBD) NO SPOILERS As usual, you wonāt find any spoilers on my blog. Iām usually pretty skeptical of paranormal/supernatural reads, though skeptical seems to be my constant state of mind lately lol. You just never know what to expect, if itāll be the same old story youāve read a thousand times, or if the author has taken her/his own creative liberties by giving the characters/creatures their own personal, magical, and biological traits. To be honest, the latter makes me more nervous because you never know how it will end up or if it will make sense. Amelia Hutchins took ācreative libertiesā, but in a way you wouldnāt expect. She kept a lot of the traits that we know and love for most of the creatures, but added her own twist to them. I wasnāt too sure about it at first but it seems that she put a lot of careful thought into it so everything came out beautifully and still made sense. A hard feat if you ask me, creating your own world. NOTE TO READERS: This series contains A LOT of explicit hot and steamy scenes and is meant for readers 18+ only. Also she seems to be fond of cliff hangers, as there is one at the end of every book. She does do her best to tie some things up but still leave you reeling for your next fix, in the form of the next book. I finished Fighting Destiny in less than two days. Thatās 400+ pages. I finished all 7 books in 9 days. (Now you see where the name of this particular blog comes from lol) They were so good that I couldnāt put them down and was up until the early morning hours reading, even knowing that I had to be up at 6 to get the boy to school. I originally a downloaded FD because it was FREE and I had just finished a different book that left me wanting.... I donāt regret it for one minute lol The tie-in books give you the chance to explore characters that we already know and love, While also introducing new characters that you will fall in love with. Even if it is a love-hate kind of love. This series has lots of action, mystery, magic, Otherworlds ;), and some catastrophically hot and dirty scenes. If you like your heroines to be warriors with a sassy mouth and quick wit.... this could be for you. If you like tall, dark, and handsome alpha men with a bad boy streak, need for control, and a conscience..... this could be for you. But if you like both... this is DEFINITELY a series you will love! This series will probably wreck you, more than a few times. But only in that āhurts so goodā kind of way lol Grab it, read it, enjoy it. Leave me a note :)
