The final installment of my Magatama AU has officially begun!

For those new here, this series is an AU where the magatama allows whoever is holding it to see/channel the dead. The story takes place during the 7 year gap, where Kristoph has managed to convince everyone around him that Phoenix is hallucinating Mia, thus ruining his reputation.

Throughout the fic, those around Phoenix slowly begin to uncover the truth and set out to help him escape Kristoph and bring that man to justice. At the time of writing this, the series sits at 63k words! So if you’re looking for a longer fic to read, I suggest this one!

With that being said, this is a darker/more serious tone fic, so PLEASE check the tags + additional content warnings at the beginning of every chapter. Your mental health is far more important than a work of fiction.

I think what got me so bad about Stranger Things is the fact that El, whether alive or dead, is separate from the people she loves. I’m tired of the plots to my favorite shows being “you must die to save others, you must die for others to be happy.”

I was pissed when Umbrella Academy did it, I’ll admit that I did not like it when Arcane did it, and with Stranger Things atp I feel like I’m getting mocked.

Why can’t characters with trauma be happy and alive and with their family and friends rather than their ending being some weird metaphorical place between being alive or dead. Why can’t characters with trauma be alive and heal.
