It’s a joke. Not a statement to follow. If the poster wanted it to be taken seriously, there wouldn’t be a picture of Kermit the frog.
This isn’t going to inspire people to rape.
Jokes aren’t rape culture.
jokes are most fucking certainly rape culture.
because the “joke” here is that it would be fucking HILARIOUS to sexually assault someone
also if anyone ever fucking tried to do this to me i would literally bite their fucking dick off
And it could absolutely inspire someone to rape because 1) A horrifically large number of people do not associate forcing a person to suck dick, especially if they’re in a relationship, as rape and this “joke” reinforces that ignorance and 2) Rapists read “jokes” like this and use it to justify their behavior because if people are making jokes about it, it must not be a big deal.
And the fact that this “joke” is saying it’s childish to NOT want to suck dick, like, there are 4,000 levels of horrible to that, I can’t even fit it all into my head right now.
I know. I keep thinking about the “logic” in this post: not sucking dick is “childish” so use a method used to feed babies to try to FORCE her to do it…?
My god.
That’s the terrifying power of comedy. You start being cordial about things that are horrible and it makes them seem like they’re not a big deal. We see this all the time, not just in instances of rape jokes but in cases of ignorance or bigotry as well. People need to stop acting like jokes are sacred. Comedians aren’t infallable and jokes that condone things like bigotry or rape shouldn’t just get a pass because “they’re jokes.”
My favourite reaction when someone tells a racist/sexist/rape joke, is acting like I don’t understand why it’s funny and forcing them to spell out what is so funny about it. And keep badgering them until they do, especially when they try to dodge out of it.
