Actually did Laura in Robot AU meet Vida when they were alive/know how they died. Or did Puzzle bring them home and go “oh yeah here’s the kid I took in and proceeded to kill in one of my traps, but it’s cool! I put them in a computer :D”
I’m sure that would be very reassuring to a brand new Laura.
But would it be worse if they knew Vida first. Would they blame themselves for Vida’s death like Puzzle did, even if Puzzle said he’d be watching them at the time? Would it be worse watching Puzzle resurrect this kid, not knowing what would come of this?
briefly ignoring the problem of timelines and ages. wouldn't it be funny if the cult found out the cloning lab was doing cloning and decided to kidnap one of the clones
something something 'a clone of Lord Nightmare? bullshit! heresy!' something something 'but what if its real? what if it is a clone of him?' something something 'oh shit wait they want to kill Dream and Nightmare oh no' something something 'teach them the ways and they can help us summon and save their father' something something 'lost sibling that the others find who hates them because they're trying to kill pluto (last he knew, at least)'
Oh no. Well. Judgy’s going to try and murder his siblings the next time he sees them. Excepting maybe Freddy, and that’s only if Pluto shows up to tell him to knock it off.
The others go “hey we were raised to be assassins (or in Laura’s case just experimented on and then abandoned) but this is worse somehow."
Actually if this Judge manages to meet Pluto he might just decide he's his protector now. Sorry Pluto you’re not getting rid of him he wants to make sure you’re safe. Ignore the fact that he’s likely a child/barely adult, nothing’s getting past him!
This is my first proper scene matching edit and I'm not even matching scenes 😔 (just voice lines). I'm really proud of it though! I feel like it matches up with a lot of iron lung universe bloodymary fics I've read, where grace is helping simon over comms. And then the ending was meant to be grace proposing to come down and get Simon out of the blood ocean but I got lazy finding lines, sorry </3
oh good we both get to suffer with math today (silly)
Ganymede's one year younger than Sunny, and that's all i had for his age bc i couldn't remember how old Sunny was.
I did however find the age difference between the first four (real-world creation order) kids, tho, so with puzzle's age discovered I can get most of the others
i've realized I've forgotten how old Patchwork and Vidalia are too tho. i think it was 17? and then in the 4-6 range?
but here's all the plusion-specific kids, minus Judgement
Patch… is made more complicated because of his mothers. Both of whom (I think??) are in their twenties present day. So for Patch to exist they have to 1) be in JR/the Horror Squad respectively, and 2) have all four parents in one location for a fight. Which I’m assuming is not very common?
So Patch is honestly probably much younger than their siblings just because of those existence requirements. I just wind up writing them older because that works better (and I think one of the times they were written was Clone AU, where Patch could have happened slightly faster due to Cloning Shenanigans)
This might mean that Patch is a baby/small child modern day, and only turns up later. Which might be funnier because it’s just a bunch of thirty/twenty-somethings and their feral teenage sibling.
Spinning Horror Squad Sunny meeting Carmine somehow and becoming friends (possibly more) with her without anyone figuring out who he is. And after a while of knowing each other, she decides to share her anti-JR evidence with him and explains she’s going to take them down.
And Sunny knows her well enough that he knows he can’t stop her from doing it if she wants to. And he doesn’t want to! JR does suck! But also if she does it without backup she’s going to die.
So um. how about she comes to stay with him and his family for a bit. Just for safety of course.
I think it would be funny if most of Grace's eridian students went to him and asked for earth pronoun designations instead of picking for themselves, because they think it's cool to get word-gifts from the coolest teacher in the galaxy
and grace is trying so hard to not accidentally be sexist or assign gender roles to a monogendered species, so like, trying hard not to call someone he/him just because they like sports, or she/her just because they seem caring, or whatever. and he's having a hard time about it because he's like oh man why am I assigning the pronouns I'm assigning, i hope I'm not bringing any of my biases into this. just absolutely eating himself up over it
he tries to fix this by starting to roll a die, or throw darts at a dartboard, but his students immediately throw a fit because the point of the word-gifts is that they are specific, picked deliberately for them, right? and grace tries to explain gender bias and so on, but it becomes clear these kids could genuinely not give less of a shit, they just want to know what their AGAG (assigned gender at grace) is, alright? why is this so hard for him to understand??
eventually grace comes to the conclusion that he's on a different planet, and severely overthinking this, and that his kids really just are having fun--they really don't see the grace-given pronouns as categorization, he figures they see them as something more akin to astrology. or an eridian tiktok trend. when grace learns they call the assigning a word-gift he probably cries tbh
Who is currently unnamed, but the ref is saved under “Judgement” because that’s all I could think of. Not sure I’ll keep it, but I’ll have to spin some other names for him. He/him pronouns.
I don’t know if the cult would wear shit like this 24/7, so imagine he’s wearing it for a ceremony of sorts. Or just that he likes the robes and thinks they’re comfy. His hair is naturally black, but he did dye it at some point and it’s starting to grow back into black. Don’t ask how he dyed it, but he probably wasn’t supposed to. Also don’t ask why the dyed bit wasn’t like. cut out or something. Maybe he gets special permission to do shit like this because Nightmare’s kid and all. Or no one’s brave enough to
Plus bonus of him telling someone (possibly a sibling) about the Bible (or at least the cult’s equivalent). Don’t ask why it has an eye, it just Looks Cool.
Okay I’ve had vaguely more thoughts regarding Mr. Judgement (still no cemented name)
- Judgement was a very mischievous kid, and tended to drag his friends into trouble. Fortunately he basically Can Do No Wrong to most of the cult. Unfortunately, someone had to take the blame for the trouble, and his friends usually took the punishment for whatever they’d done, plus being considered “unworthy” of hanging out with Judgement anymore. It didn’t take took long for Judgement to figure that out, so now he tries to behave because he doesn’t want to start more trouble for his friends.
- His carers also tried to keep his hair short when he was little. At some point he started protesting the haircuts, and after a few tries his caretakers just sort of. gave up. Hence how long it is.
- If that happens he’s probably still winding up arrested at some point. He just doesn’t know what else to do. This has been his life. It can’t just be for nothing!
- He thinks he’s a demigod, probably thinks he’s better than all of his siblings from being raised among the followers of Lord Nightmare, obviously the actual god between their two parents. This definitely doesn’t lead to fighting with Somnus ever (silly)
- In Final Girl there is a nonzero chance Judge freaks out and runs away to restart the cult. I don’t know how well that goes, but at least he’s trying to do something with his life?
- God wait now I’m imagining that one situation where Delusion gets kidnapped by people trying to “remind” him of his divinity, but it’s just Judge and the Revamped Cult grabbing Pluto. I doubt that Pluto would just sit around to be rescued like Del does (or maybe he would? idk, maybe it’d depend on how long he’s been in therapy) but I’m assuming that his son (at least the one he raised) and best friends are not going to take this lightly and will be storming the castle* to get their father/friend.
After some thought I have decided Hope has at least one gun. Because she is a disabled person living alone, and unlike her siblings, she can’t use magic to defend herself.
So he decided to get a weapon to defend himself if anyone ever decided to break into his house.
Random question that definitely has nothing to do with anything (lie)
Do you think Bernardo would wind up robotified in the Robot Family AU? Assuming the family knew they existed by the time Puzzle started robotifying people.
Because I’m stuck between “well the rest of the family got got so he probably did too” and “it would be funny if he was the only one to escape that and is now horrified/confused next time he sees everyone”
Through a combination of the powers of Fuck This (immediately noping out when he sees the robots) and Texan With A Shotgun (pew pew) he manages to escape the first time. Several of the robots that went after him are disabled (possibly completely, or possibly he just wrecked them entirely, since he wouldn’t have had any problems with shoot robots of dead people in the core.)
If it was just Puzzle who wanted to see him, and it wasn't at the warehouse, then Puzzle is getting a matching bullet scar with Freddy's old body, but Bernardo is still getting away.
I'm not sure what they'd do after that. JR may be under better management, but Bernardo probably still doesn't really trust them to handle the situation right (nevermind that they're not even entirely sure what the right way to handle it is; that's just making them more sure that JR will fuck everything up). Also, if Puzzle knows where they live, they might not actually get away for good. It's very possible that he'd find a way to kill them in their sleep and bring them over, or leave a trap in their house for them. Or just outside their house. They might have enough home security to notify them is some rando (or their crazy little brother) breaks in in the middle of the night, but there are still other ways for Puzzle to get them and I doubt they know enough about him and his traps to avoid all of them.
In the growing dusk, a chill wind raced through the narrow streets of Phrikeh's capital. A very short time ago, Percy would have been discouraged from coming to this particular portion of the city, the part where he'd grown up, the part where people were hungry and desperate. Both of his fathers would have told him that it was too dangerous, that there would be many people intent on using his princely status as a bargaining chip, or as an excuse to attack.
But now, it just felt like home. A safe place that felt familiar and unchanged, despite his whole life being turned upside down.
The place he'd agreed to meet Slash was a small alley he knew from his childhood; close enough to the more populated places that most street rats wouldn't approach for risk of being discovered, but far enough off that Percy knew he could comfortably wait. He was leaning against one of the bordering walls in a manner Delusion would have scolded him for, but Percy didn't care right now. The last thing he wanted was to remind Slash of his father.
From his shoulder, Pilot illuminated a short space around him, as it ran its beak through his carefully styled hair. Percy couldn't focus on the familiar long enough to tell it off, eyes darting back and forth across the alley, watching for Slash. He barely felt the talons digging into his thick coat.
This was a stupid idea, he told himself. Slash was one of the people who overthrew Delusion, and now helped with guarding the commoner Pluto had put in his place. She was just as likely to kill him out here as she was to genuinely come to talk.
Footsteps at the entrance to the alley made him look up, instinctively tensed to run in case he was spotted by the authorities. While he would have preferred something fancier for a date (was that what this was?), he'd settled on a plain, dark dress with slightly raised swirls patterning it, and thick stockings to ward off the cold, all topped off with a thick coat with fur lining the inside and hood. Nice enough, but not to the point he was going to draw too much unwanted attention.
He tried not to think about how it could easily double for funeral attire.
Slash had apparently had the same thought, wearing a shirt and pants that were nice without drawing attention. Dive-Bomb perched on her shoulder, though it jumped and flapped a few times to land on Percy's head, nuzzling his hair. As it did, Pilot lifted from Percy's shoulder and fluttered to her. Slash lifted a hand for it instinctively, and her eyes darted over Percy when she spotted him in the shadows, brows raising. "Hey."
"Hello," he stood up straight, folding his hands in front of him because he didn't know what else to do, and didn't want one hand to drift to his hip, where a dagger was secured under his coat. "You came."
"Yeah," A smile briefly quirked Slash's lips. "You came too."
They stood in awkward silence for a long moment. When she didn't shoo it away, Pilot rubbed its head against her cheek affectionately. Dive-Bomb cooed softly from Percy's head.
"You look nice." Slash finally said, tilting her head towards the dress. "Wouldn't have thought you would wear a dress." Her voice wasn't judgemental, more curious.
Face heating, Percy fidgeted with the fabric of his skirt. "I haven't had a reason to wear things like this for a while."
"Ah."
More silence. Percy was starting to hate the silence. Taking a deep breath, he reached up to scratch Dive-Bomb's head. The dragon leaned heavily into his touch, purring loudly enough to make Percy's bones vibrate. "… Was there anything you wanted to do?" He asked, voice far softer than he intended. Godsdamnit, this was not the time to be shy!
"You're the one that invited me." Slash said, words coming out in a laugh. "I thought you had the plan, genius."
Percy stuttered. "W— Well, I didn't expect you to agree to even meet me." I didn't want to get my hopes up. "And anyway, there aren't exactly many places we could go without being recognized. And I'm not sure what Her Majesty or—" he choked on the words for a moment. "Or Pluto would have to say about that, but my father would not be pleased to hear I was meeting you like this." He could practically hear the lecture Delusion would have for him if word got back to him. Gods, if Delusion heard of this he'd be a traitor. But… it was okay as long as Delusion didn't find out, right?
For a moment, Slash said nothing. Her voice wasn't quite so harsh when she spoke next. "Yeah, probably best we don't tell them." She looked around curiously. "You grew up around here, didn't you?"
Hesitantly, Percy nodded. "Until we were adopted, yes."
"You know the area? Anywhere we can explore?"
Percy thought for a moment, tilting his head. "Well, I… will admit I haven't been here recently. The places I know might not still be here." He looked away sheepishly. "I'm sorry, this was a stupid idea." A stupid risk, and for what? A flight of fancy?
Slash shrugged. "Not stupid, just… not well thought-out. And I've done enough of that that I really can't fault you for it."
A faint smile melted onto Percy's lips at those words. "I… did know of a bakery not too far from here. The owner was kind, and he always allowed us to take the pastries he was going to throw away." Percy paused, chuckling to himself. "They were good, but I'm sure that they're better fresh."
Dive-Bomb shifted on his head, pressing tighter against his hair. A soft whine escaped it. "I guess that makes sense," Slash murmured thoughtfully. "You want to go, or do you want me to? Since you said the guy knows you and all."
Percy laughed. "He hasn't seen me in something like ten years; I'm sure I look very different from the starving boy he shared scraps with." His mind wandered a bit at those words, thinking about just how different he must look: he hadn't gotten much taller, like Freddy, but he had certainly filled out with the regular meals. Pilot would be a new sight at his side, and there was of course the scar over his eye.
The thought of his eye made Percy's expression shift to a frown. He didn't want to think about how it had happened.
"Still." Slash shrugged. She seemed to sense the shift in mood.
"You don't know where it is."
Slash stood up a little taller, frowning deeper. "I'll figure it out. Just point the direction."
