Thinking about how Murderbot doesn’t really talk about listening/liking music and stuff which is interesting cuz it’s another form of media but the more I thought about it the more it makes sense. It monitors multiple inputs literally all the time music is probably really under-stimulating for it. Why listen to music when you could watch a serial that has visuals audios and emotions all in one conveniently bundled package?

Case in point: the Douglas fir

The Douglas fir, or Pseudotsuga menziesii, is not a fir tree. Even the Latin genus, which is ‘pseudo’ (false) + ‘tsuga’ is confusing cause ‘tsuga’ is the genus of conifers known as the hemlocks. Firs are the genus ‘Abies’.

They were named for a dude named Douglas tho so points for that I guess

so y’all, i was in yellowstone the last few days, hence my silence. so uh, here’s some pics from it!

and then here’s a (shitty) gif i made to remind y’all that those anime scenes are 100% correct when they make fields of grass move like that. i forget sometimes and i fucking work in fields the majority of summer so like, if you don’t know, now you know. :)

but uh- a run down ig? we went on a hike to the lake in the first three, those are actually all just from the first hike.

mammoth hot springs are the second set of three.

the third set were from yesterday and they were on a hike to riddle lake. it was HUGE. AND AND- i had tiny leeches on my feet when i got out. (i walked thru the water looking for a hag stone- was unsuccessful in that endeavor. BUT, i am 80% sure i found a tiny piece of jade in it tho so u win som u lose som?) i also found FUCKTONS of lavender and took some home to press and to dry out for tea. i also collected lots of flowers for pressing too, i nearly forgot haha. but yeah.

i’ve also been listening to a lot of the weeknd, his music is vv nice. 12/10 recommend. i’ve liked like, 25 songs and i hardly like any songs when i use spotify.

one more thing- THANK GOD FOR BEING ABLE TO DOWNLOAD FICS OFF AO3 BC I READ SO M U C H during the drive, like i stg.
