If I see ONE MORE PERSON dumbing down Simon and giving him no sense of humor and making him permanently cold-hearted… I’m airing the whole place out
Simon apologized so much in the movie. So much. He felt genuinely bad for the radiation thing and filament station- he turned himself over for crying out loud!!!! He’s also pretty damn funny when he’s not going through The Horrors if I may say. He’s also proven himself to be an excellent cartographer and pilot, thinking quickly and trying hard to understand the situations unfolding around him.
I love Simon. He’s not evil, he’s a guy forced into terrible situation after terrible situation.
They just had to hope that the other Eridians would be able to help Grace when he got there. Hope that they could make him a home and fix him before it was too late
Do you think Rocky had to convince Grace not to use his crewmate’s… death stuff… more than once?? It would be an easier way out than malnutrition. He’s stuck on the other side of the xenonite barrier.
thinking of making a bloodymary fanfic where AT-5 appears in Erid’s orbit (just like it popped up in the Iron Lung universe) with Simon still in it. Grace, Rocky, and Adrian go to study it and!!! Oh! A person(?)!!

I thought things would stop surprising me by now. I mean… I made first contact with three alien species, became best buds with a- for lack of a better word- five legged rock spider, saved two solar systems, somehow survived my trip to an alien planet (with scurvy and a butt load of other old-timey diseases), and have lived out a happy life in an enclosure teaching science to incredibly intelligent rock-spider children.
But when Rocky told me that a new moon had just appeared one day, calmly orbiting Erid, I about hit my limit.
“There’s a what?” I exclaimed, tugging at my hair. My feet stopped abruptly in the sand. Rocky turned around slowly, stomping back like I’m a personal nuisance to him. Which… yeah. That’s not inaccurate.
“New moon in orbit. Grace can hear, question?” Rocky didn’t have eyes, but if he did, he’d be rolling them right now. I scoffed. “Erid space scientists find two days ago.”
Two days??? Two days, and they didn’t tell me? They know I can’t see the real sky from in here!
I blink, kicking some sand with my shoe. I’d never tell Rocky or Adrian this, but I have been going sorta crazy stuck in my dome for so long. Can humans get zoochosis? This could be my chance to get some fresh air! Well- recycled spaceship air.
As if Rocky could hear what I’m thinking, he pipes up.
“Grace do something stupid, question… statement. Grace do something stupid, statement. Is what?”
“…wanna take a road trip?”
