They won't let me make this blog not NSFW so I am migrating to a new account. I apologize for those who follow this blog, but I promise to be more active on my new blog, realplush.tumblr.com! https://www.etsy.com/shop/RealPlush If you would like an estimate please fill out the following form and message me with it. Make sure you are not anonymous! Estimate form: Image or detailed description of what you would like- What size should the plush be? Small is under 5 inches, medium is under 7 inches and large is anything over 7 inches- FAQ -I will attempt to make anything you ask me to -Materials are paid first through paypal so I can order them to begin working, and once I finish you will pay for the labor and shipping through Etsy -Turnaround time varies depending on the size of the plush. Usually expect at least a month if not more. -These plushies are durable but I wouldn't let your pet play with them in case they try to tear it apart -I will either send you progress pictures or I can post them to my blog. Or both! Please let me know if you have any other questions
Part 2 of potentially 3 for Jooka! She’s a needle felted plush Lutino Cockatiel for my friend on lioden.
Her feet are wrapped in thin wool and are still poseable. I’m hopefully going to take her to the park for some pretty pictures before I send her off to the other side of the world to see her new owner!
Her crest is poseable thanks to the wire I put in the back of her head for her ;)
step by step of a plush I made in exchange for art to my friend on lioden! This is her Lutino Cockatiel, Jooka.
Part 2 is being posted next!
Jooka has a wire frame, with a wire in her head feather sticking out the back so that her crest can be posed. The crest will be better shown in the next batch of images. She has glass eyes that were hand painted. She does perch, but is a bit top heavy so she needs a thumb or finger for balance support or she’ll hang upside down like a bat!
i just wanted to say that your stuff is really awesome?? felting always seemed really hard to me and your work is really detailed and interesting i love it, if/when i ever get the funds id love to order something from you one day
Awww thank you so much, it means a lot to me for me to hear that from you. If you ever want any tips or to ask me any questions I’d be happy to help you! And I look forward to hearing from you whenever you would like one, I’d be happy to make an estimate for you if you want to tell me what you’d want made and what size you’d want; small is under 5in, medium is under 7in and large is anything over 7in
Hi, what exactly can you do? Can you do everything? Or is there at least a place where you specify if you can't do some species/things? And how sturdy are these normally? Just wondering since I've actually considered making a plush of my own (doesn't mean I won't get into it at all) and then I found your shop ^ ^ I apologize if you've answered some of my questions somewhere else already, like a FAQ, because if you have I haven't been able to find a link to it.
hey there, yes I’m willing to try anything! I have not made a FAQ yet, you’re my first person to ever message me. I will make one for you and others who may come across the blog.
These are incredibly sturdy! I’ve failed making a plush before and tried to rip it apart and I literally could not even with all my strength. I wouldn’t let an animal chew on it, that’s about the only way I can think that you’d cause it to come apart.
If you want to ask me any more questions please feel free, I’ll answer everything I know how to.
Here is my big boy Lionel without his colors or mane. I’m actually STILL working on this guy so I do not have finished photos to post just yet but this was him in his starting stages.
Look at that muscle definition, Lionel has really been bulking for the ladies ;)
Part one in the making of Liefde van Moorde, a lion for a commissioner on the site “Lioden”
1. I made a wire armature, and covered it in core wool, the sombrero was for funsies
2. Not shown, I ordered a few cachobons and painted them with glass paint to match the lions eye color and then felted them into the eye sockets. They are not glued, they are held in by the wool.
3. Added the base colors to everywhere but where his mane would eventually cover.
4. Remember I said putting long fur in is hell? it is! You have to poke in every single tiny batch of hair and then trim it using scissors and then pull out any wool that decided it was too cool to stay in place.
5. All the rest of these pics are basically mane progress. This mane took me 2 weeks to complete.
Finger dragon, my 4th plush I made. he was experimental just to see if I could do something a lot different than the kitties and pokemon I made before.
1. I made a wire armature, wrapping it around my finger but leaving space for the inevitable bulking of the wire
2. Added core wool to make the form
3. I noticed the head was too big at this point, and cut it off and made a new head
part 1 in the making of my 3rd plush, Kitter the Cheetah
1. Started with a copper wire armature and applied core wool to make the form
2. Added the fur colors on and made the paws because I freakin love paws
3. The torture begins as I start adding in the back fuzzies. This was my first taste of the horrors of long fur on a plush. I could make a whole second plush in the time it took just to put the fuzz in. Oh golly.
4. Spots time! This part was fun.
continued in part 2 (tumblr wouldn’t let me add more images)
Here was the first needle felted plush I ever made.
This plush is of the character Abathur from Starcraft and Heroes of the Storm (last pic is the image I used for reference)
Step by step here is what I did to create him:
1. I made a wire armature using copper wire in the form of his body
2. I put core wool around the wire and bulked it out until it started to look like him
3. I blended some wool together to make Abathur’s unique colors and started applying it to the body. You may see that Abathur’s hands are not done yet. I thought it best to save the hands for last.
4. Finished up his face and body
5. Made a little “hat” for Abathur to set on people’s heads and pretend my plush is controlling them.
6. Made copper wire into hands and covered them in wool, then wrapped the wire around the loops in Abathur’s wrists so that his hands are poseable.
