To all of the people moving here from Twitter I need to tell you something. But first things first, welcome. I know that you might be here and feel out of place but just know that there are people here that will take all of you in with open arms.
So let’s talk about something that the newer people on here seem to not understand and that is the importance of reblogging posts.
On Tumblr, likes are basically meaningless. They’re about as good as the save button on Instagram. Likes are basically a bookmark. Likes do not help with engagement on here and they do not help the creators on here. If you like a post, reblog the post. Reblogs are so important on here.
Reblogs are one of the most helpful tools on Tumblr. On Tumblr, your engagement on a post heavily relies on the amount of reblogs it gets. If you truly want to support a writer, artist, creator, etc. don’t just leave a like, reblog the post!
Now I may not be up to speed on all of the tumblr etiquette but I do know this fundamental rule. If there’s one thing new Tumblr users should learn, it’s the power of a reblog.
