âThis poem doesnât rhyme.â
Dude about to make haikus:
âOh you havenât heard?â
fuck you
The first line is six syllables.
THIS
POEM
DOES-NâT
RHYME
Thatâs 5 syllables
Poem is two syllables. Po-em.
Poem is ONE syllable, who the fuck uses two syllables to say poem?
What the fuck are you on about? Literally just say it out loud. Po-em. One syllable would be like Pome.
âPomeâ IS how you say it you neanderthal. Who the fuck says PO-EM?
âpomeâ is how you say it you neanderthal who the fuck says po-em

Itâs normal to get sad as things start to get better for you. You may experience a sense of loss, regret, or shame over your past struggles. Do what you can to bask in the peace and joy you are creating for yourself. The present is what matters right now.
I don't know how else to explain it. If someone says something to me that initially hits as horribly transphobic, I'm going to be hurt. However, if, after I confront them about it, they go "Oh no! Jesus no, that's nowhere near what I intended to say, I mean X" - well, I now feel a hell of a lot better. I like knowing people aren't actually trying to hurt me.
So yeah - knowing someone's intent can drastically alter the impact, especially if the impact was negative. It can literally fix a horrible case of miscommunication that could've resulted in a permanent rift in a friendship.
But I've been in communities where trying to have the second half of that conversation is "abuse" and "invalidating their pain".
No! It's actually a really fucking important part of communication! And to silence that second half of the interaction results in no one learning anything, no one healing, and everyone remaining hurt.
Person 1 remains offended, thinking their friend meant to say something transphobic. Person 2 remains hurt because now everyone thinks they're transphobic.
The pain of being misinterpreted is not and should not be dismissed, and fuck anyone who tries to do so to me in the future.
Another two-things-are-true situation.
accidentally saying something that comes across as hurtful is still hurting someone, even if you didn't mean to, and you likely still owe an apology for that hurt and not just an explanation, AND
people deserve the opportunity to correct themselves when their intention comes across wrong, and making that correction can be an important part of the amends process for having spoken insensitively and caused unintended hurt.
Hades and his symbol, the cornucopia
Itâs crazy how in modern media the helm of darkness is portrayed as the official symbol of Hades when in ancient times he was associated far more often with the cornucopia (I guess agricultural deities arenât as cool as mysterious death gods :/)
The Nine Noble Virtues were created by literal fascists.
Not everyone knows this, but the âNine Noble Virtues,â or âNNV,â are not set down and codified anywhere in the lore. They were first created by members of the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists, the Odinic Rite, and the Asatru Folk Assembly.
All three of these organizations are made up of fascists and white supremacists.
When someone tells you that the NNV are a big red flag for racist heathenry, thatâs why.
âŚWell today I learned something that seems pretty importantâŚ
Clearly, these are values to reclaim from Fascists: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_Noble_Virtues
Thereâs no reclaiming.
They were invented by racist fascists in an effort to mirror the Ten Commandments and make their practice closer to Christianity. They are a new invention, made by fascists, to further fascist values. Just throw them in the trash with the fascists where they belong.
If you look into them, those innocent-seeming values were carefully chosen to support the whole âtraditionalistâ fascist ideal. Thereâs nothing wrong with courage or hospitality, of course, but the visions of courage and hospitality projected into the NNV are a twisted and corrupted vision of it, and the whole concept of the NNV is poisoned.
If you read the modern versions, in that very link you gave, youâll see the racism creeping in hard.
For example, âHospitalityâ, for the people who made the NNV, really means
To succor the friendless but to put no faith in the pledged word of a stranger people.
AKA âNot people who are different from us.â
Screw the Nine Noble Virtues.
This is actually why Forn Sidr of America created its own 7 tenets. The NNV and offshoots are based on ableist and exclusive norms instead of values that are attainable by everyone.Â
Just some examples of how the NNV arenât accessible to everyone:Â
Courage - Not everyone is capable of being courageous at all times. Especially when people have very real oppression they may suffer under.Â
Fidelity - Fidelity in any list of values should be concerning. Itâs the kind of thing thatâs used in mafia and gangs. If requiring unwavering unquestioning loyalty to people and causes sounds culty, thatâs because it is. Most white nationalist groups depend upon a group of people being shamed for asking questions or speaking up when things are wrong.Â
Self-Reliance - This is a big ableist one and frankly goes against how society works. Holding self-reliance as a virtue/tenet brings shame feelings of failure to people who need accessibility services, guardianship, hospice, in-home care, crisis services, mental health services, or financial help from family or from tax-paid assistance programs. Bonus points: what a great way to keep people isolated from a support system outside of the cult.Â
Industriousness - This one assumes that everyone can become proficient in a tactile trade or craft and has the capability of producing a good work ethic. Holding this as a tenet measures a personâs worth based on their productivity and contribution to society rather than recognizing the inherent worth of a person. Sound familiar? It should, it was added to the list by Nazis who brought Odinism to the US in 1939.
Perseverance - Another ableist assumption that everyone is capable of pushing through overwhelming and disabling situations. Having tenacity is one thing, but this has undertones that people can and should keep going in horrible situations even when they shouldnât for their health. And itâs often used like that in the AFA and in other groups that push the white nationalist agenda.Â
Now, does aspiring for these qualities make someone a Nazi? Of course not. These may be good qualities to aspire to as an individual, but when theyâre promoted as the requirements to be a part of a religious group, thatâs when things get creepy. Tenets of a Faith need to be accessible and attainable by all its members. If it isnât, the message is one of exclusion and elitism.Â
When we created out Tenets we were determined to create values that could uphold the best in humanity and were attainable by all. For more information on our tenets visit our website, Facebook, and Tumblr.Â
The January 6 hearings are having a lot of impact. And a lot of people are going "Oh, shit, is THAT what happened?"
We need to let them change their minds without making it harder.
A lot of people are realizing that they have Queer relatives, and that's changing their minds about policy.
We need to let them change their minds without making it harder.
A lot of people really believed that they would never come for Roe v. Wade, and are now awake.
We need to let them change their minds without making it harder.
We need to remember that there is an organized and strategic operation designed to keep people from thinking clearly, and that the systemic nature of the problem provides plenty of other ways to influence their thinking. The right wing spends a lot of money and a lot of time keeping their base angry and afraid, because when you're angry and afraid you can't think clearly and you're easy to manipulate.
When someone breaks free of that system, we need to let them, without punishing them.
#you know how like⌠it sucks when you do something your parents asked for#and they just go âwell FINALLYâ or âlook who decided to join usâ or whatever#and you know how it makes you 100% less likely to want to repeat the new behavior?#donât be that person. donât punish people for doing what you want because they didnât do it sooner or because itâs unusual for them.#on god people need to be able to walk away#like⌠I think of how part of the tactic with missionaries- Mormons going door to door-#the point isnât to convert you#tho itâs a bonus! but the point is to reinforce that everyoneâs going to be shit to them for their beliefs#itâs cult tactics. You canât leave#canât leave if youâre convinced youâll be harmed or cast out doubly#and so on.
All. Of. This.
Sometimes your excuse to keep going despite the mental illness is just that you learned a new thing and want to explore that more. That can be just enough sometimes.
That and the new shoes I ordered coming in. D&D tonight with lovely people. Wanting to paint again sometime this week.

this is so funny this literally sounds like a right-wing paper from 1860s france
This is really fucking funny, and op is right about how it sounds. But I felt a strong need when moving to reblog this to say something about the situation-- not aimed at op who just dunked on clickbait propaganda, but just as something to keep in mind the more this kind of thing gets said by news outlets. This is way more public than I usually comment on posts (I like posting in the tags) but it felt a bit important.
My store successfully managed to both get the unionization vote underway and win the vote with only one ânoâ to speak of, and the people who worked the hardest and put the most sweat and tears into making that possible were not college-educated. The people who went out of their way for several months now to provide information to combat the slew of lies and fearmongering that corporate directed at my coworkers were people whose formal education ended at high school and who came from all different walks of life.
The (returning) CEO of the company put out a statement in an hour long video we were forced to watch right after our votes were read where he chalked the unionization efforts up to âoutside influencesâ who take advantage of the ignorance of the other employees to push an agenda, and listening to that made my blood boil for so many reasons.
But what I want more than anything else to say to H.S and all the people pushing this narrative is that the people who are unionizing have been there-- in the trenches-- for years, and they arenât stupid or easily manipulated by sneaky college students. Theyâre single mothers who have been with the company for 15 years; theyâre people whoâve been previously-homeless, putting in extra effort to foster an environment of love and respect among coworkers; theyâre people from other parts of the restaurant industry whoâre using their spare time to learn sign language to better communicate with others; theyâre 17 year olds who can see that the way things are are so far from the way they should be.
Iâm a college-educated worker who took a job because I had no options, but when I said we should join the tide of stores unionizing the work had already been done and theyâd just been waiting to see if I was a person they could trust. I have so much love and respect for the people who will never get the credit they deserve, and thatâs why I felt like I wanted to speak. The incredible strides being made in this country right now in terms of unions are being made on the backs of people being called âuneducatedâ and âunskilledâ.
Hello! I really liked your post with sci-fi recommendations that aren't just books by misogynistic men. There are some books on the list already but do you happen to have a list of recs just for novels about robots/androids/AI? Preferably where they are the protagonist? No worries if not! Thanks
augh see i love robots/AIs but i have not read NEARLY enough books w them as main characters đ i can name a couple u might wanna check out tho!
klara and the sun by kazuo ishiguro (standalone, from the POV of a nanny robot taking care of a sick girl) is pretty interesting, esp in regards to the idea of robots having their own mythos and superstitions. v slow and thoughtful (tho a bit too uneventful for my tastes)
ted chiang has a couple good short stories about robots - exhalation (found in the short story collection of the same name) is a personal fav of mine! (there's also the novella "the lifecycle of software objects" - in same collection - but while i adore most of his stuff i really didn't like that one lol)
if u like YA, def check out the scorpion rules by erin bow (the prisoners of peace duology)! honestly on most levels it's a pretty average dystopian YA book, but then it also happens to have one of THEE most interesting and complex explorations of posthumanism through AI i've ever seen??? like not even in YA, in general (esp in book 2, it's not a major plot until the end of book 1)
if you're interested in the classics at all, i do recommend Asimov's short story collection I, Robot! it was surprisingly fun and it was cool seeing where the iconic 3 laws of robotics thing originated :)
also. i can link u to my own robot/AI tbr list knfdkgjfn

Hey uh
If even now in June of 2022 you're still wearing a mask and staying six feet away from people and getting your vaccines, just know I fucking love you.
I have to know anything else about you.
If you're still taking steps to protect yourself and others from Covid, about a year and a half after the world decided to just pretend it was over, you're an amazing person and I appreciate the hell out of you.
You're not overreacting, you're not inherently paranoid for taking necessary precautions. I got Covid this year. It's very much still a thing and taking steps to prevent transmitting it or catching it are still necessary.
Thank you so much for being responsible, and please continue to do so.
