Of all the 'proof' I've seen offered by those who believe that Laila isn't playing The Real Katarina Rostova, this might be my favorite.
Did you guys know that it's impossible to recover from a suicide attempt, and that everyone who tries and 'fails' is doomed to spend their lives just running out the clock, in a state of perpetual misery? As soon as a person wants to die, that's it. They're just fucked. Forever.
Can someone PLEASE tell me why Red has all but totally abandoned his signature 3-PIECES?!
These 'dad bod' outfits are NOT my jam, and IMO the headwear needs to go into the barrel fire with RR1.

This is 100% an example of the laugh Megan was talking about when she said:

Okay guys.... DISCUSS. Did he and Katarina share a soul, or a soulmate? If the latter, then who might this shared soulmate be? Liz?
Or maybe the whole point of this line is simply what it looks like on the surface-- yet another softball lobbed to the dead (or dying) Redarina theory.

For a split-second, I almost thought Rod Stewart put young Spader on his Vagabond Heart album cover. Anyone else see this, or am I crazy? (Obviously you have to ignore the mole)
I came across this little gem of a quote from Spader, in a 2014 *Variety* article. Tagging @red-is-the-new-blackington
“The central relationship on the show, between Liz and Red, is a question Spader is often asked about. “What I know about their relationship is so far down the road. The lifespan of this show dictates how things are going to unfold. You have to allow fluidity. You can’t have an endgame on a television show in its first year, if you don’t know if it’s going to last two years or ten years. I also have to accept the fact that it can change dramatically,” he said. “But yes, I do know what the eventual desire would be.””
So whatever James knows about their relationship is something that is happening in the future. (F/D doesn’t happen in the future).
“The lifespan of the show dictates how things [regarding their relationship] will unfold.” - if they were F/D or platonically acquainted, there would be nothing difficult about wrapping up the story with a sudden cancellation. However, if it was supposed to be some sort of twisted, complicated slow burn, that would need time to play out (probably not 7 seasons JB, but whatever).
“You can’t have an endgame on television show in its first year.” - They had already resolved daddygate within the first year so that’s not the endgame. By default, they’ve been seemingly platonically acquainted for 6 years so that’s not the endgame.
“But yes, I do know what the eventual desire would be.” - see above. You don’t “desire” to have a parent outcome. Either you’re a parent or you’re not. You don’t “desire” to have a non-relationship outcome if that’s where you’ve been for years.
I swear every time I read one of James’ early interviews, I feel like he signed onto a completely different show than the one they doled out to him. He ordered a salmon steak and they brought him a fucking fish stick.
