The results of the referendum in Taiwan today were honestly expected, to some degree, as I feel it is difficult to change the mindset of a big part of the population. However, I don’t think I was prepared when seeing these the actual results in numbers.
There are so many things that just...made me so angry and helpless. The fact that people would go against the law (from what I’ve heard, correct me if I’m wrong) just to tamper(?) with the votes.
However, I believe that there is always hope. The numbers have definitely been an improvement compared to previous times, and there are still many people willing to listen to the younger generation.
It’s a long road to equality, and full of bumps and obstacles, but as long as we are still willing to fight, one day we will be able to reach our goal.
