Campton: The new font from Rene Bieder.

Rene Bieder the master designer behind Quandon, Gentona, Canaro and other lovely fonts, is launching a new geometrical Typeface derivated from Canaro: Campton. Campton is a simple sans serif with a geometric skeleton, based on the mid to early twentieth century visual trend of achieving neutrality. Although, there are a lot of typefaces focusing on similar principles, tries to find its niche in the field of anonymous typefaces by combining simplicity with a subtle friendliness. It is perfectly suited for graphic design application ranging from editorial and corporate design via web and interaction design through to product design.

Check out RCP’s newest animation!  AG Care is a non-profit organization in Springfield, MO that empowers hurting communities in Africa to develop their own solutions for humanitarian needs. The animation was created by Caleb Weidman with a wonderful soundtrack by the talented Garrett Vandenberg. You might also recognize the narrator’s voice as Dan Desrosiers, lead guitar and backup vocalist for the band Pompton Lakes!

Portfolio Piece: Perspective

Red Chrome Productions’ Caleb Weidman describes the design process for his digital art piece “Perspective.” “I’ve been blessed to have the chance to do what I love every single day for a living. I work in the marketing department doing graphic design at Valley Forge Christian College by day and work on RCP by night. While I love doing both immensely, once in a while I make sure to design just for the sake of art, unrestricted by clients or deadlines. ‘Perspective’ was a great example of one of those pieces. I created the piece to reflect the idea of how much current circumstances and situations can dramatically effect our view of the world around us. Although the mountain is the exact same mountain in both scenes, its surroundings and atmosphere force us to examine the differences.”In every negative situation and circumstance, there is always a positive perspective to take. It’s rarely ever the end of the world, just keep on keeping on! What do you think?

RCP/BlimeyCow Giveaway FAQ

Yesterday after our huge announcement about our Blimey Cow giveaway, you guys had a ton of questions, but no worries, here are your answers:

I've liked and followed RCP, what else can I do to improve my chances of winning?

Unfortunately now you just wait around until the end of the month, but remember that liking, sharing, & interacting with us won't help you necessarily, but it definitely can't hurt either. (;

How do we pick the winner?

Every name (from every site) will be put into the same pool, and we will draw out three (3) winners. 

How will we contact the winner?

We will be sending a private/personal message to each of the winners either through Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr.

Which followers go into the drawing?

All of our followers will be put into the drawing, but there is a top secret system we have to tell if they came to us for Blimey Cow merch!

I don't have a twitter account or a tumblr account is there any other way to enter?

Unfortunately, no. But you can always make other accounts if you want to boost your chances.

In addition to the website, Red Chrome Productions was also the team behind the Blimey Cow rebrand.  The new logo, intro and outro were all created over the span a few months and received an overwhelmingly positive review by the fans.  Caleb Weidman, CEO of RCP and lead designer on the project, explains the process that the team went through to execute the image-overhaul.

When we first started talking to the team about a redesign, they were relatively hesitant about making changes.  They already had a lot of merchandise printed with their branding and it was very well known with their fans.  I asked Josh to give me a chance to make a new logo, and if he didn’t like it, we would just stick with the one they had been using.  He agreed, and within a few days I came up with the animation that now plays in the beginning of each Messy Monday (which although unintended, does look a lot like an ice cream logo, but who doesn’t like ice cream, right??).

When I showed Josh the new look he was, to put it modestly, very satisfied with the logo.  We then spent the next few months nailing down the specifics; profile pictures, cover photos, video thumbnails, intro animations – you name it, we did it.  I partnered with the great and amazing web developer Gabe Nye to put together blimeycow.com 2.0, which also received extremely positive feedback.

All in all, the Blimey Cow redesign project was a lot of a hard work, but worth every second.  Everyone on the team loves hearing the kind words of the fans as they see the new look, and we hope to continue to work with the team on future projects.
