How Hayabusa no Pell survived the bomb
Some of the translations I looked at said that hayabusa translates to mean peregrine falcon, and not just the generic falcon stated in dubed versions of the anime/ fan translated versions of the manga. Peregrine falcons are among the fastest living creatures as they are able to reach up to around 300 mph. (I forget the exact speed) They do this by flying straight up into the air - much like Pell does to get the bomb a safe distance away - then dive bombing. (Tucking in their wings and free falling head first straight down.) This isn't 100% confirmed or denied, but it makes the most sense.
