First Workout of 2019
This was actually yesterday, but I forgot to post it.
It felt good to finally run again. My foot is feeling really good today, so hopefully this horribly plantar fasciitis flare up is on the way out. Here’s hoping.

NSFW ban fail
Reblog if you’re still seeing porn bots despite the NSFW ban. I’m still seeing them. Plenty of legitimate followers seem to be blocked from my feed, however.
Reset Monday!!!
I’ve been sort of doing this - in a way - for a while, but it was always a negative thing. It does feel very natural, though. I never would have thought of turning this into a positive thing and doing it purposely, every week instead of randomly when I’ve fallen off the wagon.
Every Monday is a new start. Every Monday, every week is a new goal, a new healthy step to take.
This seems so logical. Why try to take a giant leap, when you can take very natural, baby steps?
Looking Forward
The end of 2018 has been crap as far as working out and fitness are concerned. I’ve been completely off since September. Now, in the finally days of December (and 2018) my plantar fasciitis flare up is finally on the mend.
My plan going forward is to get back into things slowly to make sure that I don’t end up right back where I started. I’ve been doing 15 minute bouts of walking since the 26th. I’ll slowly make that longer and add in running. I’m hoping to be able to run a 5K for St. Patrick’s Day. I’m going to add in some gym work after the first of the year when campus (and thus the gym) is open again.
This has been the worst plantar fasciitis flare up I’ve ever had, and it wasn’t even my “bad” foot. Now that I know what I need to do to fix it and keep it away, I just need to keep doing it. My hydration is still down from where it was at the peak of this year (August), but it’s better than it has been, and my yearly average is WAY up from last year.
2017 yearly average 95 ounces
2018 yearly average 115 ounces
So this year wasn’t all bad. I started being able to do assisted pull-ups, so that was a plus. I’m stronger than I was. I’m smarter than I was.
Here’s hoping I can take all of that and make 2019 better than 2018. That’s really all any of us can do.
I lost 3.5 pounds last month.
That is all.
Rainy Day Workout
It’s literally raining and 41 degrees in Dallas in the middle of bloody October. This is just weird. This doesn’t happen. It’s supposed to be sunny and still in the 80s. That’s what happens every year. This year is so weird. At least I got a ride work so I didn’t get soaked and I still got a good workout in. It was a lovely workout, now I’m pumped and ready for a good shift at work.
I did mostly legs, but I did get some upper body in. I’ll do mostly upper body tomorrow if I manage to get to work in a somewhat dry manner. If not, I’ll be pumping it out Thursday during my long shift.
I’ve been doing a much better job at hydrating the last several days. The more I workout, the easier it is to get all that water into my system. My feet have their good days and their bad days, but I’m starting to have more good than bad (knock on wood). I’m hoping I can be back to running come November. Fingers crossed. I don’t want to rush anything, but I’m feeling really good right now. Baby steps.
Long Day = Long Workout
This is my looong day at work (10.5 hours), so I get a break in the middle, so I got a longer workout in.
So, 20 minutes later...
Now, to hydrate.
Yesterday at the Gym
I’m really enjoying this new plan of stopping in at the gym for short bursts before work. I feel like I’m actually getting more quality time at the gym. I’m in the gym LESS, but I’m doing the same amount of work. When you only have 15-20 minutes you work harder. It will be interesting to see how this affects results.
Last Week at the Gym
It felt so good to get into the gym again. I was sore and stiff from Tuesday on, but I’ve gotten the kinks worked out and I’m excited to be back in the gym before work tomorrow (being soaked from rain prevented stopping in at the gym today).
Now if I could just get my plantar fasciitis under control again I could get back to running.
Aaaaaaaat Laaaaaaast!!!
I finally got sick of just not going to the gym. I was tired of feeling sick and weak, so I decided to drop in at the gym for 15 minutes before work. It turned out really good. I’ve missed being in there. I am definitely doing some arm stuff tomorrow before work.
I’m getting back on the wagon 15 minutes at a time.

All hell has broken loose. My foot is acting up, I’m sick in one way, and as soon as it’s over I’m sick in another. I wasn’t in the gym once in September. Hopefully this week will end that streak. I feel like crap, but I need to get goin again.
Bad Week (I Miss the Gym)
I was in the ER on Friday, so I wasn’t moving around like I normally would. I wasn’t paying attention and forgot to change my move goal for the day, so I lost a 174 day move streak. I’m not happy.
That doesn’t make me feel any better about not being in the gym since August because of my stupid tooth (why I was in the ER), or that even though the hospital had promised in email they could help me, the reality was that they could not.
It’s been a bad week. It’s been a bad month. I miss the gym.
Because of this ridiculousness, I’m finding it hard to eat or stay hydrated. Everything just seems to make the swelling and the pain worse. It’s very frustrating. Hopefully I’ll be back in the gym soon.
I may try to do some weights during my break at work this week. It will just be about 20 minutes, but that’s better than nothing. I can’t take all this bloody sitting.
I’ve officially worked my way up to a gallon of water a day!!!
I started at 100oz at the beginning of the year and upped my daily goal every other month, increasing by 10% at first, and then by just a few ounces so I didn’t jump so drastically. The last two months my daily goal was 125oz a day, though I frequently went over on the days I worked out. Today it moved up to a gallon (128oz). I’ve got this!!!
I’ve got to say, that AirRunner is the greatest invention ever!!! I love it. I could run on that thing forever!!!
The lifting wasn’t bad either. I had to be quick about it, though. The Edinburgh Tattoo live stream came on at 1.
I ran on an AirRunner for the first time in my life today!!!
I am so bloody in love with this thing I want it to hurry up and be 7 am tomorrow so the gym can be open again so I can run on that bad boy again!!! I am seriously bloody in love with that thing.
Is it legal to marry a treadmill? Is that going too far?
I DID 5 ASSISTED PULL-UPS TODAY!!! I’m back!!!
Happy Dance
I did a low weight high rep workout. I set the weight for everything at 90 lbs. For some stuff, that felt heavy. For a lot of stuff that felt light as a feather. In the end, I ramped up the reps and everything was burning when I was done with each machine. Definitely tired now. Hopefully it will help me sleep tonight. This type of workout is supposed to help you burn fat and build lean muscle, so I’m adding it in to my routine to keep things interesting. In the end it’s supposed to help you get gains in the weight room as well as on clothes tags. I guess we’ll see. Now to hydrate and refuel (and possibly have a nap).
