Can we take a moment to bring up the funny trope of people in movies tossing themselves on bare naked horses - no headcollar whatsoever, no saddle - and ride off absolutely fine? Stirring and speed regulation no problem? And how it usually emphasizes how BA a rider that is? Yes? But can we also accknowledge the horses, please? Like it takes a very well- and thoroughly educated horse to be able to ride it just like that and have it understand these small cues. I mean, good luck getting anywhere just hopping on a random horse who had no idea about weight and leg cues. 😅

As crazy as it sounds now, last saturday we had some really nice snow here for, like, two days and so we grabbed the chance to take some professional photos and omfg they turned out SO nice, I gotta share them!

"mares are mean" "mares are the worst" "mares are evil" "red mares are the worst" uhh i think thats just a YOU issue? the ladies LOVE me, personally.

ALL the girls get kisses and cuddles under my watch it is inevitable

Icelandic horses are so fun, Icelanders were like “We need a very strong horse to deal with the rugged landscape and inhospitable conditions. We must create the best all terrain vehicle.“ and the result was this:

And they absolutely get the job done but they look like stuffed animals.

Random and absolutely no shade, but as an avid iceland horse rider, it always amuses me how people around me, who have so far only been riding warmbloods are all "will the little pony be able to carry me?" until they ride an iceland horse (especially mine, she is a speed demon) for the first time and then it's like "yeah. no. it ain't a problem"

Will teach you size only matters relativly.

Autumn is coming. The mane is gone. But seriously, this woman drops pretty much her entire mane every time autumn shedding comes around. Why she do that? 🙈

i know this isn't the reguar theme of this blog but i need to share it somewhere because today someone called my local fire department because they found

Thoughts on using your phone while riding?

I think it's okay to be on your phone while riding.

It's only okay if you're alone in an enclosed area.

I do not think it's okay to be on your phone while riding.

Every time i come back from the barn and my boyfriend dares say i reek of horse, i get deeply offended, even though i most definitely reek of horse

So, we let these two have some run time together to see how it goes and turns out, it goes great!

Madam turns on her mom-mode and maakes sure nothing gets too wild, while hubby gladly oblidges.

What good little gongers these two can be, when they want to. 😉
