And I instantly thought of Roronoa Zoro,,,, ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
soft!Zoro who let's you doze off leaning against his shoulder, not moving a muscle in fear of waking you up.
rough!Zoro who chokes you hard enough to make you sob as he gives you backshots, spit drooling down your chin and he won't take pity on you.
soft!Zoro who wipes your hands after a battle, his touch clumsy but gentle, as if careful to not hurt you.
rough!Zoro who pushes your face down his cock, and when you gag he'll only smirk, "what's the matter? I thought you said you could handle it?" he says, pushing you further down with a chuckle in his tone.
soft!Zoro who carries you over puddles and mudbaths with a grumpy frown, "what am I? Your servant?" he grumbles, but refuses to let you go when you try and squirm off his grasp.
rough!Zoro who pins down your wrists hard enough to leave dents and bruises, breath hot on your ear as he whispers filth.
soft!Zoro who ties your shoe laces, helps you slip off your heels and gives your ankle one soft kiss without thinking.
rough!Zoro who makes you ride him in cowgirl, slapping and gripping your ass when you slow down, "quit being lazy." he taunts you, whilst letting you do all the work.
soft!Zoro who lets you cling onto his arm during briefings or walks, completely unbothered as if you were meant to be there, stuck and pressed to him.

You were that kid who would run up to people with your arms already open, who didn’t think twice about wrapping yourself around someone just because you felt like it, because hugging felt good, simple and warm and grounding in a way nothing else really was. You never really grew out of it, never learned to hold back or second-guess whether it was “too much,” because to you it never felt like too much,it felt right, it felt warm, it felt like the easiest way to exist around people you liked without having to overthink anything.
You used to joke that you got it from Olaf, the whole “warm hugs” thing, but the truth was you meant it more than you let on, because hugs were simple and real and didn’t ask anything from you except to be there.
Hugs were easy.
Hugs made sense.
But hugging Katsuki Bakugo?
That was something else entirely.
Because it shouldn’t make sense.
He’s all sharp edges and louder-than-necessary words, all scowls and attitude and that constant underlying tension like he’s always one second away from snapping at someone. He’s not soft, not gentle, not the kind of person anyone would look at and think yeah, he probably gives nice hugs.
And yet,
He does.
And out of everyone—hugging Katsuki Bakugo was your favorite.
You noticed it the first time you hugged him, really hugged him, not one of those quick, joking ones you give people in passing, but the kind where you actually press into him, arms wrapped properly around his middle like you’re settling there for a second instead of just brushing by.
It was warm.
Not just body heat, though yeah, he runs warm, always has, but something deeper than that, something steady, solid, like being wrapped around something that doesn’t move unless it chooses to. His shirts always feel a little softer than you expect too, worn in just enough, and he smells—God, he smells good.
Like caramel and something faintly smoky underneath, something that lingers when you pull away and makes you want to lean back in again just to check if it’s still there.
It doesn’t match him.
It really doesn’t.
And maybe that’s why you like it so much.
"You’re doing it again.”
His voice pulls you back to the present, low and mildly irritated, but not nearly enough to make you move, not when your arms are already wrapped around him from behind, your cheek pressed comfortably between his shoulder blades like you’ve done this a hundred times before.
“I’m hugging you,” you mumble, not even attempting to let go, your grip tightening just a little out of habit.
“You’ve been hugging me for five minutes.”
“And?”
“And that’s too long.”
“It’s not.”
He exhales sharply through his nose, like he’s about to argue, but he doesn’t actually make you move, doesn’t peel your arms off or step away, just stands there, stiff for a second before settling again, like his body has already accepted this is happening whether he likes it or not.
“…You’re clingy,” he mutters.
“I’m affectionate,” you correct, shifting slightly so you can rest more comfortably against him, completely unbothered.
“That’s the same thing.”
“It’s not.”
He clicks his tongue, but there’s no real bite behind it, no actual push to get you off, and that alone is enough to make you smile a little against his back.
“…You’re warm,” you say after a second, softer this time, more like you’re thinking out loud than actually trying to start something.
“Obviously,” he replies immediately, like that’s a stupid observation.
“No, like really warm,” you insist, your voice quieter, more thoughtful, your fingers curling slightly against his shirt without realizing it. “It’s nice.”
He doesn’t respond right away.
And that’s how you know he heard you.
“…You’re weird,” he says finally, but it comes out less sharp than usual, less like an insult and more like something he’s just stating because he doesn’t know what else to say.
“Yeah,” you agree easily, because that’s not new.
You stay like that for another second, maybe two, before you tilt your head slightly, pressing your nose a little closer to his shoulder without really thinking about it.
“…You smell good too.”
He freezes.
“…What.”
You blink, pulling back just enough to look at the side of his face, completely serious.
“Like caramel,” you explain, like it’s obvious. “And something else. I don’t know. It’s nice.”
There’s a pause.
A long one.
“…Why are you sniffing me,” he says slowly, like he’s trying to process that sentence.
“I’m not sniffing you,” you protest immediately, even though you kind of are. “I just noticed.”
“That’s literally sniffing.”
“It’s not intentional.”
“That doesn’t make it better.”
You huff quietly, but you don’t let go, don’t even loosen your arms, because if he really wanted you off, he would’ve made you move by now.
He hasn’t.
“…You give the best hugs,” you say after a moment, softer now, more honest than teasing, your voice settling into something quieter, something that doesn’t feel like a joke anymore.
That’s when he goes still.
Like he didn’t expect that.
“…You hug everyone like this?” he asks after a second, his voice lower than before, something unreadable slipping into it.
You shake your head slightly against him.
“No.”
“…Good.”
You blink.
Pull back a little more this time, enough to actually see his face, your brows lifting slightly.
“…What do you mean ‘good’?”
He clicks his tongue immediately, looking away like he didn’t mean to say that out loud.
“Nothing.”
You stare at him for a second.
Then your lips curl into a small, knowing smile.
“…You like it.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to.”
His eyes snap back to you, sharper now.
“Don’t start.”
But you’re already leaning back into him again, arms wrapping around him just as easily as before, like the conversation didn’t just happen, like this is just how things are between you.
He exhales quietly, something between annoyed and resigned—but his hand comes up anyway. Settles against your back.
late night calls with katsuki are everything to you.
sure, you’re the one doing most of the talking and yapping, but he’s got his pillow under his cheek, eyes half-lidded as he listens with an honest smirk of content. when you say things that usually get reactions, he huffs under his breath against his sheets. no matter how much he complains that he wants to sleep, katsuki listens to what you have to say because he knows it’s a lot by the end of the day. you always have a story to tell him.
“…and then i told him, if he ever touched my food again, he’d lose his damn fingers.” you say, staring angrily at the ceiling while recalling when one of your classmates tried to take a swipe of your food earlier that day.
“mm. asshole.” he grunted.
you stood quiet for a few moments, wondering if he was drifting off to sleep.
you wanna call for him, but you let yourself sink into your blankets. it was late and you should probably be going to bed. you took this chance to get real close to your phone and whisper. “good night, katsuki.” you say. when you get no response, you smirk like the idea came into your head all of a sudden.
“i love you,” your voice is low but deliberate in delivery. you shut your eyes out of embarrassment when he doesn’t say it back and you snort.
he doesn’t say it much, and you don’t either, but there are moments like this where you just can’t help it. when you’re far from each other for too long, it gets unbearable.
you hear shuffling, and then a groggy, slight muffled “nnm love you too…” into his pillow. it’s like he didn’t even register what he said before he said it.
from yuumi , wrote this shit at like 2 a.m i got more stuff coming!
Hiiii! I don’t know if you’re taking requests right now but I would LOVE to request a zoro x Insomniac reader, like she can almost never fall asleep and sleeps maybe 2hrs a night
The Water's Fine (Zoro x Reader)
One Piece | Zoro | 3.5k | Masterlist
“If we get any wind, you’re going to be left behind.”
You didn’t bother to open your eyes. “Nami said the wind would only pick up later.”
Zoro clicked his tongue. “You trust her to be exactly right?”
“More than I trust you to know about navigation.”
The ocean rocked you in slow, uneven swells, lifting and lowering you just enough to keep your muscles working beneath the surface. Sunlight pressed warm against your face and chest while the rest of you drifted cool beneath the waterline. The Sunny loomed close enough that you could hear the creak of wood between waves, though Zoro’s voice reached you warped and muffled through the water. You tipped your head back to clear your ears, lifting just enough to hear him properly.
“Sorry?”
“I said you should get out. I want to nap before these idiots get bored.”
You cracked an eye open to squint up at him. “You don’t have to watch me. I’m not about to sink under the waves the moment you turn your back.”
“How am I meant to know that?”
“Do you think I have a devil fruit in my pocket that I’m going to pull out and eat?”
He rolled his eyes and opened his mouth right as he froze, momentary annoyance disappearing in a second as his gaze snapped past you.
“Something – ”
Zoro launched himself over the rail and steel flashed through the sky. The air cracked sharp enough to sting your ears. The force of the slice tore through the space in front of you, splitting the surface of the ocean open as though it had been struck by something solid.
A wall of water surged toward you, towering and uneven, streaked white with churn and foam as it collapsed in on itself. The wave slammed into you; breath knocked from your lungs as you were shoved beneath the surface.
Your back hit the side of the Sunny and the impact burst what little air you had left into a scatter of bubbles.
A sharp ringing filled your ears, drowning out everything else as the world tilted sideways. For half a second you didn’t know which way was up, your body suspended in churning water that pulled at your limbs from every direction.
Then you saw it. Right in front of you.
A massive shape, split clean down the middle, body still moving as it sank. The jaw hung open, rows of teeth bared wide. That had been… you hadn’t even noticed it was there. You’d almost been…
The sea king drifted close enough that you saw the thin, cloudy film glaze over its eye as it sank. The sheer size of it stretched beyond what your mind could properly hold before the dark swallowed it whole.
Something moved beside you and you panicked.
You thrashed without thinking, limbs jerking violently as panic hit all at once, your body trying to fight something you couldn’t see. The endless abyss surrounding you suddenly held far too many terrors. You scratched at what was holding you as it pulled you upward into the light from above.
You shattered the surface with a harsh, raw cough. Seawater tore from your throat as the sun beamed onto your skin and you clung desperately to what you’d been fighting so furiously against not a second earlier.
Zoro’s arms locked around you like iron bands, unyielding as he dragged you upward, his grip tight enough to keep you from twisting free no matter how hard you fought it.
“You good?”
You couldn’t answer. More coughs dragged themselves from your lungs as your chest screamed at you. Your heart was pounding in your chest – you dropped your head to his shoulder and forced yourself to breathe though even that did nothing.
You could still see it. Teeth that were longer than you were tall. A hungry, gaping maw.
You were hauled onto the deck before you fully registered what was going on. Your hands only loosened against him when something rough was thrown over your shoulders. You grabbed the towel instead, fingers trembling around the fabric.
People were talking and you focused on that noise instead, just in time to hear Usopp complaining.
“See, this is why we shouldn’t go that close to the ocean!”
Something cold was touching your face and you turned toward it to find the source was Chopper’s hooves. You shook your head automatically. Droplets flicked into his face.
“Sorry,” you said.
Your chest was burning and the doctor was looking a little too worried. You didn’t like the implication of that but one thing you could fix was just how cold you were. That was an easy solution.
“Well, that was eventful,” you said, voice surprisingly rough. “I think I need a shower.”
Zoro was still hovering at your shoulder. You could feel his gaze on you. “You alright?”
You nodded before he’d even finished asking, reached for the railing and dragged yourself to your feet. Your legs didn’t feel sturdy at all but you told yourself it would be fine. It wasn’t like you’d actually gotten hurt.
“Perfect,” you said. “Thanks for the save.”
“Yeah.”
You didn’t think it would affect you.
Or at least, you told yourself that it wouldn’t. Convinced yourself that you’d be fine with forgetting it until you were lying in your hammock, unable to get sleep to stick with you for more than a few minutes.
Every time you closed your eyes, you saw it again. The rows of teeth and a lifeless eye that stared straight through your memories.
You didn’t get any sleep that evening. Or the one after that.
You weren’t scared of the ocean. There was nothing in there with a mouth that could swallow the ship. It didn’t haunt the waves, waiting patiently for you to make a mistake and slip in. You had nothing to fear because it wasn’t real.
But no matter what reassuring thought you focused on, you couldn’t sleep.
It definitely showed but nobody mentioned the bags under your eyes or the way your chirpiness vanished. Nobody mentioned how you fled to the crow’s nest for no reason any time the wind picked up, even slightly.
Zoro was already there by the time you crawled in on your fourth night of no sleep, your limbs heavy and your breathing ever-so-slightly panicked.
“Funny seeing you here at this time of night,” you said, unable to quite get the smile on your face without it looking half-asleep.
“It’s my watch,” he said. “What are you doing here?”
You could have lied. Part of you considered it so he wouldn’t worry but there was another part, one that couldn’t bother to think of a proper excuse when you hadn’t managed to sleep for days on end, that just sighed deeply.
“Insomnia isn’t a pretty look on me.”
“You can’t sleep?”
You lowered yourself beside him, the wooden floor of the crow’s nest cool beneath your legs as you leaned into the curve of the wall. The sleeplessness had burrowed deep into your chest and try as you might, you just couldn’t shake it away.
You leaned against his shoulder, settling your bodyweight against the firm outline of his frame. “I want to.”
“So go do it.”
You rolled your eyes. “Thank you, darling. That’s such an innovative solution and not something I’ve been trying to do for days.”
He scoffed and fell silent for a while. You closed your eyes and tried to let the silence wash over you, failing miserably each time.
“Need me to tire you out?”
That made you look up again, confused. “Zoro,” you complained.
“What?”
“This isn’t the time.”
He huffed. “You can train at anytime of the day. Don’t listen to Chopper. The night is just as good, if not better, because it betters your senses.”
That… made a lot more sense than where your mind went. “Training?” you repeated. “You want to work out to get me to sleep?”
“That’s what I do if I can’t. Or drink but…”
“I’d be dead if I drank as much as you.”
He chuckled but didn’t deny it.
Maybe you could sleep on Zoro. You’d done it so many times before and it was a decently comfortable spot. He inevitably fell asleep too, never moving and warmer than any blanket you could find. But even as you thought of a shared nap, something hungry moved below you and you bolted back away, heart pounding in your ears.
You rubbed your stinging eyes and sighed, disappointed. How much time had passed since he made the offer?
He was staring at you again.
“I’m fine,” you said. “I always thought sleep was a waste of time. I’ve gotten so much done in the past few days!”
“Like?”
The actual answer was that you’d been staring at the wall but that felt a little odd to say.
“Reading.”
“Right.”
Zoro wouldn’t push. You loved that about him because if you said you were okay, then he would agree with you. Even though… maybe you weren’t okay. Maybe you did need somebody to mention it because you were kind of worried still.
“It’s dead, you know.”
Your rambling thoughts cut dead and you looked at him, momentarily confused. “What?”
“I killed the thing.”
“I’m not…” How had he known? You were sure you hadn’t brought it up or shown any signs of worrying about it anymore. “I know you killed it,” you said weakly. “If you hadn’t, then I’d be dead.”
“And?”
You wrung your hands together. “I didn’t even realise it was there. How did something that big sneak up on me? I could have been swallowed before I even screamed.”
“You weren’t though.”
“Can you please try to be a bit more comforting?”
Zoro hesitated for a second before he patted his lap. “Lie down. I’ll stay awake.”
You huffed though it was tempting. “You never stay awake when you’re on watch. I know because I’m always the one that wakes you up.”
“I will. Just lie down.”
The temptation was rapidly outweighing your nervousness. You thought of several protests before just giving in and stretching out, head resting on his thighs. He moved only once, the slightest shift, before he fell as still as a pillow. Then his hand fell over your eyes as though keeping them closed.
You wrinkled your nose but let him rest there, the pressure strangely reassuring.
Sleep didn’t arrive quickly but before you knew what had happened, you heard the trapdoor swing open with the excited chirping of:
“Oi, Zoro! Sanji says breakfast is ready!”
You practically headbutted Zoro’s hand as you sat up; your eyes burned at the sudden bright light filling the crow’s nest. Your arms and legs felt heavy, your neck stiff as you rubbed it and glared at the sun beyond the windows.
Luffy dropped out the crow’s nest with a laugh and Zoro sighed.
“Idiot.”
You rubbed your face. “Guess you know how to get a girl to sleep,” you mumbled more to yourself than to him.
“You still tired?”
“It’s better,” you said, pressing a half-awake kiss to his cheek. “Thank you.”
You caught the faint red on his cheeks as he scoffed. “You can’t have too many bad habits so you better start sleeping again.”
“Hypocrite,” you responded.
Zoro offered to let you sleep with him more over the next few days and though it worked, it wasn’t the most comfortable thing you’d ever done. His legs were big and your neck ached from the strange angle but it was better than usual.
You didn’t know how long this would last although it seemed a pretty poor ‘forever’ solution. The exhaustion really wasn’t helping your thinking either because the next time you made land, you didn’t even realise what you were agreeing to join Zoro for until you were already halfway there.
Zoro didn’t usually do beaches. He didn’t see the point in it and following Luffy into trouble on the island was far more entertaining.
So why you were following him along an empty stretch of sand and sun was beyond you.
The ocean stretched out ahead of you with an emptiness that turned your stomach. When he moved to go closer to it, you settled where you were – the sand still dry where it clung to your palms. Waves rolled in slow, steady rhythms, breaking softly against the shore before dragging back, leaving the sand dark and slick in their wake.
Zoro looked to you and you patted the spot next to yourself with a smile. He didn’t walk back, just gestured with his head.
“You coming?”
You frowned at him. “Coming where?”
“Whenever we go to the beach, you swim out. You’re not going to do it now?”
“It’s a bit cold for swimming.”
It definitely wasn’t. You could feel the warm wind bringing in the refreshing sea breeze and a small part of your heart sung to move closer. But you stayed firmly where you were, nudging a small shell free from the sand with your toe. It was cracked along one side and you picked it up, thoroughly enamoured by the small token.
Zoro was still watching you. You pretended he wasn’t.
“Water’s fine,” he said after a moment.
“But the wind…” you said.
“You gonna avoid it forever?”
You rolled your eyes and tossed the shell back into the sand. “I’m not avoiding anything. I just haven’t had a chance to go swimming lately.”
He inclined his head toward the ocean. “And right now?”
“As I said, it’s cold.”
He shook his head and walked back over to you, his shadow falling across your legs. You pushed yourself upright, brushing sand from your clothes with more force than was necessary.
“I’m also not wearing the right clothing,” you said.
“That’s never stopped you before.”
A wave rolled across the shore, sliding back along the sand. You followed it with your eyes, watching the break as it swallowed the shore.
Then he turned his back to you, crouching slightly. “Come on.”
“What are you doing?” you asked, brows furrowed.
“You always ask for this. C’mon.”
You did often ask him to give you a ride on his back but you had an idea you knew exactly where he planned on walking with you. And you weren’t about to do that.
“I…”
“You’ll warm up.”
You crossed your arm. “That’s not the – hey!”
He clearly decided you were taking too long because he turned back and grabbed you, picking you up and hauling you onto his back instead. You grabbed onto him on instinct, nails digging into his shoulders as he immediately made for the water.
“Zoro!”
He adjusted his grip under your thighs and started a firm march toward the water. Your stomach dipped. The waves were getting closer now. Your hold on his arms tightened.
“Zoro, put me down.”
“Not yet.”
“You don’t have a weapon on you,” you pointed out though obviously he knew that. He’d placed his swords down at the edge of the beach, well within viewing distance.
“Don’t need one to swim.”
You huffed but it came out thin. You weren’t scared, obviously. Who would be scared…
He stepped into the water and your grip around him locked; thighs squeezing him so tightly that he let out a short, surprising cough.
“Hey! Take it easy.”
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“Stop trying to crush me.”
“I’m not!”
He took another step and your heart kicked. Your gaze dropped despite yourself, staring at the waves as they washed around his legs, terrifyingly close to your own feet. He was moving slower now, giving you time to breathe, but not time to relax.
“We’re not going far,” he said.
“I don’t… I wouldn’t mind.”
He hummed as though you were lying to him and you pressed your cheek against his shoulder, looking instead at his hair. The colour ought to distract you even as he continued to walk and the sand shifted deeper.
You could see the way it curled and twisted beneath his feet. It clouded the water just enough that couldn’t see through it quite as clearly as before.
That made it so much worse.
The water climbed higher. It moved past his knees and brushed against your feet, then it was at his thighs and touching more of your skin. You could feel its pull. Not enough to move him at all but there for long enough. A slight tug on your limbs.
You swallowed. “Zoro.”
He stopped then, just deep enough that the waves washed over his hips. The chill of it sent a shiver through you that had little to do with temperature.
Zoro stood steady as the waves washed by, his hold tight around you.
Another wave came and he adjusted himself to break it, splitting it before it bumped up against you. You could feel the tug of the tide against your skin as you raised your eyes from the sand by his feet, looking out at the vast water around you, gaze running back to the shore for only a second.
“I should notice things,” you said. “You can’t notice everything.”
“I know,” he said.
It wasn’t very comforting at all. You tracked the water around his legs and noted that nothing was moving beneath it.
“You can put me down now,” you said.
“Are you gonna bolt?”
You breathed out disbelievingly through your nose. “No… maybe.”
“Then you’re staying right where you are.”
Another wave brushed over you. Then another. Until you came to expect them and stopped squeezing him half to death every time it happened. You breathed out slowly before his hand slid from where it had hooked under your leg to your wrist instead.
“Stay here,” he said.
“Okay.”
He lowered you slowly until your toes touched the sand, soft under your weight. You breathed out, the water cooler where it lapped against your skin now that you moved away from his body. It felt familiar like this. Pleasant, almost.
Then Zoro started walking and your breath hitched. He guided you without pulling, drawing you deeper until the water was brushing over your ribs and your chest.
It was fine. It was just water.
Your fingers dug into his arm and he stopped, turning to look at you.
“I’m fine,” you said on instinct.
He didn’t respond. Instead, he stepped closer to you until you were looking at him instead of out at the vast, endless ocean he’d been guiding you to. Looked at his eyes instead of watching for any that lurked beneath the surface.
“Nothing I can’t handle.”
“I know,” you said.
“Then stop worrying about it.”
“That’s easier said than done,” you huffed.
He flexed his hand around your wrist. “Time to let go.”
“Zoro…”
“I’m not leaving. Just let go and float.”
You exhaled slowly, expression unimpressed as you watched him. “That’s not… I’m not… you’re annoying sometimes.”
He shrugged. “That’s fine. But you like doing this crap.”
You did. You did like floating in the waves but that was when you thought you’d see a threat before it reached you. When you thought you’d recognise a danger before it could touch you.
You loosened your fingers one at a time and then dropped your arm.
The water shifted around you immediately and you swayed in the current, not sure of what to do now. Almost as though you’d forgotten how easy it was to relax. Zoro was unmoving as stone, his arms crossed over his chest while he waited.
You leaned back, lowering yourself and pretending your heart wasn’t pounding in your chest hard enough to hurt.
There was nothing here. No creature of that size could get so close to the coast and you were fine. You were safe with Zoro there to look for you when you couldn’t. You exhaled, slow and shaky, as you stared at the clouds above you.
He didn’t say anything.
You floated for a minute, watching the sky before you pushed yourself upright, water dripping from your hair down your back. You stepped forward and wrapped your arms around his waist, pressed into his chest with a solid hug.
He made a quiet sound of surprise. His arms rested on your hips, grounding.
“You’re fine,” he said.
You nodded against his chest. “Probably.”
Past him, the ocean rolled. Vast waves crashed against the shore and you shuddered, burying your face against his skin as you tried to ignore it. Not out there yet.
“Maybe, I could swim out there, later,” you said slowly. “As long as you’re there to look out for me again.”
“Obviously,” he muttered. “Where else would I be?”
Between the sun and the swimming, you must have exhausted yourself. Or at least, that’s what you told yourself was the reason why you managed to get a full night’s sleep that evening, free from monsters and the ocean.
It definitely wasn’t because your head was on Zoro’s chest, sand still in your hair and sea salt still clinging to your skin.

The air in Little Garden was thick, ancient, and smelled of prehistory. Giant, impossibly lush flora dominated the landscape, a world frozen in a bygone era. For Roronoa Zoro, it was just another island on the Grand Line, albeit one that was making him sweat through his haramaki. His current predicament was less than ideal. He was, for lack of a better word, a statue.
A very realistic, very detailed, and very annoying statue of a swordsman in mid-slash.
"Mr. 3 is going to pay for this," Zoro growled, though the sound came out as a guttural rumble, trapped behind a layer of hardened wax. He, Nami, and Vivi had been ambushed. While the others had been captured, Zoro had been caught in the "Doru Doru Arts: Candle Lock of Genius." Now he was a decorative piece in the wax-obsessed agent's sprawling, makeshift gallery. He could see and hear everything, a prisoner in his own body, forced to watch as Mr. 3 pranced around, admiring his "artistic" handiwork.
"Exquisite, simply exquisite!" Mr. 3 chirped, adjusting a tiny wax flower on Zoro's shoulder. "The raw ferocity, the untamed spirit! Captured forever in my superior wax! I shall call this piece 'Warrior's Repose'!"
Zoro's eye twitched. If he could move, he'd be 'Warrior's Rampage'.
It was during one of Mr. 3's monologues that Zoro noticed it. Tucked away in the corner of Mr. 3's "workshop," which was really just a clearing filled with bizarre wax sculptures and half-finished traps, was a colossal tree. Its trunk was wider than a ship and its branches disappeared into the canopy above. And coiled around that trunk, almost blending in with the bark, was a spiral staircase that seemed to go on forever.
What was stranger, though, was the faint sound drifting down from above. It was a melody, soft and sweet, carried on the humid breeze. It was a voice, singing a lonely, haunting tune that spoke of longing and a world she'd never seen.
Mr. 3 noticed Zoro's gaze. "Ah, you've noticed my little secret project," he said with a sly grin. "That's the Tower of Seclusion. And inside is my masterpiece, my most precious treasure. Her name is [y/n]."
He leaned in conspiratorially, his voice dropping to a theatrical whisper. "She has a gift, you see. A unique and wonderful ability. Her hair... it has healing properties. Not just cuts and scrapes, but deeper things. It can rejuvenate, restore vitality. A single strand can make an old man feel young again. Imagine the fortune! Imagine the power!"
Zoro remained silent, but his mind was racing. Healing hair? It sounded like some fairy tale nonsense, but this was the Grand Line. He'd seen stranger things.
"But she's so naive, so trusting," Mr. 3 continued, patting a wax statue of a smiling Usopp. "She believes the world outside is a terrifying, horrible place, full of monsters and thieves who would exploit her. And I, as her loving guardian, must protect her. So I keep her safe, high up in that tower, where no one can harm her... or take my precious asset."
The singing stopped, and a clear, melodic voice called down from the heavens. "Father! Is that you? I heard voices!"
Mr. 3's entire demeanor changed. His posture softened, his voice became sickeningly sweet. "Yes, my dear little flower! It's just me, admiring my work! I have a surprise for you today!"
"A surprise?" The voice was filled with childlike excitement. "Is it more paint? I've finished my mural of the 'Spotted Sea-Beast' you told me about!"
"Even better!" Mr. 3 called back, grabbing a bucket filled with shimmering, multicolored shells. "I'm bringing up some rare, beautiful seashells for you to add to your collection! I'll be up shortly!"
He set the bucket down and turned back to his captive audience. "You see? A happy artist is a productive artist. And my little [y/n] is the most productive of all." He chuckled, a greasy, self-satisfied sound, and waddled off towards the base of the giant tree, beginning his ascent.
Zoro watched him go, his fury building. He'd seen plenty of despicable people on this journey. Arlong, Crocodile... but this was different. This wasn't just conquest or greed; it was a slow, suffocating poison. The man wasn't just keeping her prisoner; he was keeping her ignorant, twisting her mind to make her a willing participant in her own cage. He was stealing her life, one lie at a time.
For hours, Zoro stood frozen, a silent sentinel. He listened to the faint echoes of Mr. 3's voice from above, the cooing and cajoling, the fabricated stories of a dangerous world. He plotted, his mind working furiously. He had to get out. He had to free her.
His chance came unexpectedly. A commotion erupted from the other side of the clearing. The roar of a giant dinosaur—the island's famous residents—shook the ground, followed by the familiar battle cries of Usopp and Sanji. They were here. They were causing a distraction.
Mr. 3, ever the coward, panicked. "My gallery! My masterpieces!" he shrieked, running around trying to protect his precious wax sculptures from the chaos.
In that moment of panic, Zoro felt it. A hairline crack. The intense vibrations from the dinosaur's stomping and Sanji's kicks were traveling through the ground, up his legs, and into his wax prison. He focused, pouring all his willpower, all his Haki, into that single point of weakness.
One... Two... Three...
With a silent, explosive effort, he shattered the wax. It fell away from him in chunks, and he stumbled forward, gasping for air, his muscles screaming in protest. He was free.
Mr. 3 saw him. "You! How did you—!"
Zoro didn't give him time to finish. He drew one of his swords, the steel singing in the humid air. "I'm not a piece of art," he snarled, advancing on the terrified agent. "And I'm done being part of your collection."
While Sanji and Usopp handled the dinosaurs and the remaining wax goons, Zoro cornered Mr. 3. It wasn't a long fight. The agent was all talk and no substance. A few well-placed slashes and Mr. 3 was a whimpering mess on the ground, begging for mercy.
"Please! Don't hurt me! The girl... she's up there! Take her! Just let me go!"
Zoro ignored him, his gaze fixed on the towering staircase. He had made a promise to himself. He wasn't leaving without her.
He started to climb.
The stairs were winding and seemingly endless. The higher he got, the more he could feel the isolation, the sheer disconnection from the world below. The air grew cooler, cleaner. He could hear her voice again, humming softly to herself.
Finally, he reached the top. It was a large, circular room, filled with light from a massive window that overlooked the entire prehistoric landscape. The walls were covered in vibrant, detailed paintings—paintings of dinosaurs, of strange plants, of a sun and moon that looked slightly wrong. They were all from a limited perspective, all based on descriptions she must have been given.
And in the center of the room, sitting on a woven rug, was you.
You were painting, a brush held delicately in your hand, your hair—a cascade of [h/c] so long it pooled around you like a silken moat—shining under the sunlight. You were so engrossed in your work you didn't hear him at first. You were humming that same lonely tune.
He stood there for a moment, just watching. He'd expected a damsel in distress, weeping in a corner. He didn't expect this. This was a sanctuary, a gilded cage, but you were its vibrant, unknowing heart.
"Your 'father' is a liar," he said, his voice rough from disuse.
You jumped, letting out a startled gasp as you turned. Your eyes, wide and the color of [e/c], locked onto him. He was a stranger, a man with green hair and three swords, covered in wax residue and looking like he'd just fought a war. To you, he was the monster from the stories.
"Who... who are you?" you whispered, scrambling backward, your hand instinctively reaching for a frying pan lying near your pallet. "How did you get up here?"
"The stairs," he said simply, taking a step forward. "The ones your 'father' uses."
You held the pan up like a shield. "Stay back! He told me about people like you! You're dangerous! You want to hurt me!"
"He wants to hurt you," Zoro corrected, his tone flat and serious. "His name is Mr. 3. He's a bounty hunter, an agent of some criminal organization. He's not your father."
You shook your head, tears welling in your eyes. "No, that's not true. He's my father. He protects me from the horrible world outside."
"What world?" Zoro asked, gesturing to the window. "The one with the giant lizards and the big flowers? That's Little Garden. It's not the whole world. It's not even a dangerous part of it, compared to some places."
You flinched at his dismissive tone, your knuckles white as you gripped the handle of the frying pan. "He said... he said there are ruffians with swords who would cut off my hair, and pirates who would drag me away, and plagues that would make my gift useless. He said he's keeping me safe."
"He's keeping you for himself," Zoro stated, his voice devoid of sympathy. He wasn't good at gentle reassurances. He dealt in truths, and the truth was often harsh. "Your hair. The healing. He told me. He wants to sell it."
The words struck you like a physical blow. Sell it? Your hair, the thing you cared for, the thing you were told was a sacred gift to be protected, was just a commodity to him? The foundation of your entire existence began to crack. "You're lying," you choked out, but the conviction was gone, replaced by a desperate, wavering hope that he was the monster and not the man you called 'Father'.
Zoro sighed, a sound of profound annoyance. He wasn't equipped for this. He was a swordsman, not a diplomat. "Look," he grunted, taking another step. You flinched back, and he stopped, holding up his hands in a gesture of surrender. "I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Roronoa Zoro. I'm a pirate. My captain is an idiot who wants to be King of the Pirates. We were on our way to Alabasta when your 'father' trapped me in wax."
He pointed a thumb over his shoulder, down the stairs. "He's down there now, probably being tied up by my cook. He's a liar and a coward. The world isn't what he told you. It's bigger. And it's not all bad."
You stared at him, your mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. This man, Zoro, was everything you'd been taught to fear. He was gruff, scarred, and carried three swords. But his eyes, a sharp, clear hazel, held no malice. They were just... direct. Honest. It was an unfamiliar quality.
"Why?" you whispered, the question barely audible. "Why would you come up here? If he's gone, you could have just left."
Zoro looked away, a faint blush creeping up his neck. He scratched the back of his head, suddenly finding the painted wall fascinating. "I don't know," he muttered. "I don't like bullies. And he was keeping you in a cage. It didn't sit right."
It was the most clumsy, awkward admission of chivalry you had ever heard, but it was more real than anything Mr. 3 had ever said. Slowly, hesitantly, you lowered the frying pan.
"You... you really think the world is different?" you asked, taking a small step towards the window. "That there are... good things?"
"Yeah," Zoro said, his voice a little softer. "There's good food. And strong people to fight. And a whole ocean to see. There's adventure." He watched you, the way the sunlight caught in your [h/c] hair, the genuine curiosity warring with a lifetime of fear in your [e/c] eyes. "My captain would probably call you 'amazing' and try to make you join our crew right away."
A small, watery smile touched your lips. It was the first genuine smile you'd ever given a stranger. "He sounds... loud."
"Loudest idiot you'll ever meet," Zoro confirmed with a ghost of a smirk.
The decision was made in that instant. A lifetime of lies versus a few moments of brutal honesty. You walked over to a large wooden chest in the corner. It was filled with all the things Mr. 3 had ever brought you: paints, brushes, books, and trinkets. You picked up a small, intricately carved wooden bird, the first gift you ever remembered receiving. You looked at it for a long moment, then placed it gently on your pallet. You didn't need it anymore.
You turned back to Zoro, your expression set with a newfound determination. "Okay," you said, your voice stronger now. "I want to see it. The world."
Zoro nodded, a flicker of approval in his eyes. "Good. Let's go."
He led the way to the stairs, but you stopped him. "Wait." You ran back to the wall where your most prized possession hung: a painting of the night sky, filled with stars you'd only ever heard described. You took it from its hook, rolled it up carefully, and tucked it under your arm. It was the only piece of your old world you wanted to bring with you.
The descent was dizzying. You had never been down these stairs. Your whole world had been the single room at the top. Each step down was a step into the unknown. Zoro walked in front of you, his broad shoulders a steady, reassuring presence. He didn't speak, but he didn't have to. His silence was a comfort.
When you reached the bottom, the reality of it all hit you. The air was thick and humid, filled with the scent of earth and giant flowers. The ground was soft under your bare feet. And in the middle of the clearing, you saw him. Mr. 3, trussed up like a turkey with thick ropes, a gag in his mouth, his face a mask of fury and terror. Next to him stood a lanky man with a long nose and a man in a suit with a swirling eyebrow, who was currently kicking the bound agent for good measure.
"See? I told you Zoro would handle it!" the long-nosed man cheered, striking a pose.
"Hmph. The marimo-head probably just stumbled in the right direction," the blond man scoffed, though he looked relieved.
They all froze when they saw you. You shrank back behind Zoro, your hand clutching his sleeve. This was it. The monsters from the stories.
"Whoa," the long-nosed man breathed. "Zoro, who's that?"
"Hey, you found a lady!" the blond one said, his eyes turning into hearts as he prepared to swoon. "A beautiful maiden trapped in a tower! How romantic! Allow me—"
"Back off, cook," Zoro growled, positioning himself slightly in front of you. "This is [y/n]. Mr. 3 was keeping her prisoner. She's coming with us."
The two of them stared, their expressions shifting from shock to outrage on your behalf. It was the first time anyone had ever defended you. It was overwhelming.
You peeked out from behind Zoro, your gaze falling on the trussed-up Mr. 3. He glared at you, his eyes promising retribution. All the fear, all the confusion, all the years of lies coalesced into a single, clear feeling. It wasn't sadness. It was anger.
You stepped out from behind Zoro. You walked right up to Mr. 3, who flinched away from you. You looked down at him, at the pathetic man who had stolen your life.
"You lied to me," you said, your voice quiet but carrying an immense weight. "Everything was a lie."
Mr. 3 just glared, his gag preventing him from speaking.
You turned away from him, dismissing him completely. He was nothing. The past was nothing. You looked at Zoro, at the strange pirates who had freed you without even knowing you.
"So," you said, a hint of a smile playing on your lips. "Which way is the ocean?"
Zoro's lips curved into a genuine, sharp-toothed grin. It transformed his face, making him look less like a hardened warrior and more like a man who had just found a treasure worth more than any gold. "This way," he said, pointing. "And don't worry. We'll keep the monsters away."
Zoro presses a kiss against the back of your neck — sleep-filled, lazy, unhurried. The slow lull of morning washes over like the tide lapping at the shore.
There's no rush, only resting lovers' limbs that tangle beneath the sheets of his bunk, encased in cotton woven linens embroidered with little pink and green flowers.
He’s never been one to pursue love, opting to chase the unknown depths of his heart with the bottom of the bottle, numbing the ache that never faded away with the loss of who he once held dear.
But you could do what sake never could — heal.
It’s early enough that most of the crew still slumbers, the distant sounds of Sanji opening up the kitchen tickles his ear as the chef prepares the breakfast that kickstarts the day into high gear.
The swordsman is not concerned about that in the slightest, not when you’re safely tucked in his embrace with your head cradled by his bicep. The steady rise and fall of your chest soothes a part of his soul that he figured he lost long ago.
Zoro’s breath dances along the sensitive skin of your neck before he inhales, his muscles instantly relaxing at the familiarity of your scent.
His steel-lined heart lurches as soon as you stir, the flutter of your lashes tickle your cheek, wisps brushing silk.
“Morning.” Zoro gruffs out.
Sleep still steeps in his mind, drowsiness guiding his wandering lips to brush against the sensitive skin of where your jaw meets your ear.
“Mm Zoro.” You murmur slowly as if honey drips off your tongue, not yet opening your eyes under the care of his affections.
He grows impatient, eager to see the beauty that lies within cast its warm light over him. You never keep him waiting too long though.
You finally gaze up at him and galaxies bloom in your eyes just like the twinkling night skies you always drag him out to watch when the moon hangs high in the night. “Sleep okay?”
Zoro hums, moreso an acknowledgement of your question rather than the answer. Truth is, he always sleeps better with you next to him but the words weigh heavy on his guarded tongue. Uncharted vulnerability adamantly fights his pride for freedom, another one of his silent battles he hides behind his well-placed stoicism.
Curiosity sparks in your eyes, waiting for more. He should’ve known you wouldn’t be satisfied with that. The mask he wears loosens under the patience of your gaze, slipping past his fingers and spilling into your outstretched palm.
“Yeah.” His hand rests against the back of your head, thumbing over its slope to your neck. “Otherwise I would’ve kicked you out for hogging the damn blanket again.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” You smile and Zoro presses his lips against your forehead to hide his own.
He lets out another hum of contentment, rough palms traveling down your sides until they rest against your hip, giving a gentle squeeze.
“C’mon.” He murmurs, his hand gripping your thinly veiled hip a little tighter. It’s time to get up.
“Five more minutes?” Your hands are like magic as they roam down his bare chest, muscles rippling under your sweet touch. Always so damn tempting.
“Yeah, right.” He lets out a huff, rolling his eye. “I’m not falling for that one again.”
“Hey, you’re the one that refused to come up for air.”
“Oi.” His cheeks burn pink under the heat of the memory. Once he gets a taste of your sweetness, he could rarely stop himself from overindulging. “Keep trying.”
“At least until breakfast?” He couldn’t fight that one, even if he wanted to. Not when your eyes blossom with hope, dewy-kissed from the sunlit dawn.
Zoro’s large, calloused palm runs along your skin, the roughness is just proof of all the effort he’s poured into his training to become the best.
But his true devotion lies within you.
He figures pushing off his daily routine for an extra 20 minutes wouldn’t be such a terrible idea.
“Yeah.” His palm flattens along your lower back, pushing you flush against him. “Until breakfast.”
Time stands still when you happily place a well-mannered kiss over where his heart drums with his dream’s purpose and echoes with the rhythm of your love.
“Kiss me properly.” Zoro demands, palm cupping the back of your neck to bring you in for a tender kiss before you could even pretend to protest.
He surrenders to your mercy, the swordsman’s defenses disarmed and vulnerable to your affections.
The pads of your finger trail up Zoro’s bicep before you dig your nails into his skin in an attempt to ground yourself. To know that you’re barely hanging on, just like him, drives him to deepen the kiss with a hunger that threatens to consume you both.
Your lips, so soft and so damn inviting, expertly glide over his in a dance the two of you have grown accustomed to. His tongue delves into your mouth, everything growing sloppy, needier. Spit collects in the corner of your mouth before he swipes it again, getting drunk off of your taste.
The sun rises and he melts with you, the passion from the night before simmers into hot coals that pull you closer.
Zoro’s other hand snakes around your back, greedily holding you closer to him, taking you in like it’s the air he needs to breathe. He briefly wonders what you’ve done to him, how he’s gone his whole life starting his day off without kissing you like this.
It’s easy to get lost in the fluid motions, tangling tongues melding together to speak the language only the other could understand. A song dedicated to your forlorn souls ardently courting each other, dancing around feelings neither of your minds put into words so early in the morning.
With great reluctance, the two of you part. Breathless and panting into each other’s mouths with a thread of spit connecting your kiss-bitten lips. He collects the shared saliva onto his calloused thumb before licking it clean, never breaking eye contact with you.
Sanji calls out for breakfast and the Sunny comes to life, its brightness washing over the intimate moment with the flood of reality. Zoro shows you his smile this time, one that the world never gets to see.
It’s shy, boyish. A man grappling the feelings of love when all he’s ever held is the safety of his blades. There’s a tenderness deep in his heart that slips through the cracks of fortified walls and bleeds into yours.
“Not so fast.” He murmurs before you start to get up, the warmth of his palm smoothes over your skin as his hand wraps around your wrist. He brings it up and presses his lips against it your racing pulse. “Sit next to me at breakfast.”
“Duh, someone has to help me protect my plate from Luffy.” Your features light up with a smile. He grunts when you kiss him one last time — a promise of more to come. “And you’re the only one I trust to do it.”
“No promises.” He lets out a short laugh, running his thumb up into your palm before weaving his fingers between yours. “You know how he is.”
“Then I guess I’ll just have to steal yours!” You smack a dramatic kiss along your joined hands before letting go and getting up.
“Oi!” Zoro jolts up at the suddenness, a challenging smirk dangling on his face. “Get back here you little–”
“Gotta be quicker than that, Zo!” You cut him off with a tease, throwing your robe on and racing towards the door before he has time to counterattack. He sits up, sliding his boots on with an endearing shake of his head.
His mind swarms with ideas on how he’ll get back at you when you spar together later, more than keen to show you just how fast he can be when he sets his sights on what he wants. A tiger leaping after its prey.

God, you were so stupid. As the crew’s botanist, it was your job to know plants, to determine what was safe or deadly, what could serve as a salve or a poison.
Yet, the flower you encountered on a recent stop to an exotic port - beautiful, bright, and fragrant - left you perplexed. You couldn’t identify it immediately, and your curiosity got the better of you, so you eagerly brought it aboard the Going Merry for study.
And now, you understood why the salesperson seemed to be laughing at you as they happily accepted your coin; you should’ve known that something so pretty would be dangerous.
The damned thing was an aphrodisiac, a kind of strange stimulant that you’d never encountered before. Once you’d finally found an entry on it amidst the pages of your botanical reference books, your stomach dropped with dread. You’d had the plant aboard the ship for days, though thankfully it had been secluded to the closet serving as your sad excuse for a room - you were cramped in there with your books and tools and that stupid flower, none the wiser to what it was slowly doing to you.
You’d been exposed to its pollen for days, breathing it into your lungs as you pondered over it, touching the delicate petals and coming away with soft grain on your fingertips. At least you weren’t dumb enough to have ever thought about consuming any part of the plant - that would have made things truly unbearable, as you’d come to learn that that was the fastest means for its reactions to take hold.
At first, you thought maybe the flower wouldn’t have any effect on you, considering that you hadn’t felt any different in those days isolated with it. And even once you’d found another entry in your encyclopedia detailing its slow burn results, you thought that perhaps you’d incorrectly assessed it, again because you felt nothing.
But after three days around the thing you felt… something. A twisting in your stomach, a heat stoking at your core. You tried to ignore it as the day went on, but with each passing minute you could feel something taking over - Usopp’s smile made you antsy and nervous, Nami’s pretty legs crossing one over the other shot desire through you like lightning. Shit, you had no business getting all worked up about your friends like that, but it was simply out of your control.
And it only got worse when Sanji tried his usually fruitless flirty tactics, lingering close enough that you could smell his enticing musk, his suddenly silky voice forcing you to clench your legs. Once that happened, you all but booked it away from everyone else and locked yourself up, only leaving your room to chuck the offensive flower overboard in a panic. There was no way you’d risk keeping it here even a second longer, because just your luck the pollen could somehow get to the rest of the crew, too.
You’d already been cooped up in your room for an entire day, feigning illness. Everyone had stopped bothering you after you practically screamed at them to get the hell away from you. Save for Sanji, annoyingly, who simply couldn’t help but check in on you regularly, offering food and drink and even company.
Sanji had probably done so a dozen times before you couldn’t take it anymore.
You caved to your impulses, throwing open your door and yanking him inside abruptly. You pinned him against the door, hands twisted in the front of his jacket, eyes crazed as you looked into his face. You could feel his body heat, could smell him overwhelmingly. Sanji - blissfully unaware of the state you were in - looked far too pleased to be pressed between you and the door, eyes gleaming and grin cheeky.
You loathed to tell him what was going on - you didn’t want any of your fellow Straw Hats to know about this embarrassing predicament you’d landed yourself in. The plan was to stay locked up until it passed, but Sanji just wouldn’t leave you alone.
“Look asshole,” You spoke through your teeth, body clenching at that stupid smile on his face, a wave of heat washing through you, “there’s… an issue and it’d be better if you stopped bothering me.”
“An issue?” Shit, was his voice always that hot? Despite the twisting in your belly, your glower darkened in an attempt to dampen this ridiculous pining.
Frustratingly, his wolfish grin grew larger, and with a sharp intake of breath, you dropped your gaze before you could do something bad, “Yes, an issue, and it’s not your business, so go away.”
“You don’t look so good,” Sanji began, tone sultry - or was that just in your head? As if he was testing your limits, he lifted the back of his hand to your forehead, and you all but jumped with a gasp, “God, you’re on fire. Maybe a little tea to make you feel better?”
“No.” You relinquished your grip on his jacket, needing as much distance between you two as possible, though this damn room was so cramped it wasn’t nearly enough. Sanji looked you up and down curiously, and even that had the unfortunate effect of causing desire to pool white hot inside you.
“Soup?” He offered in a taunting voice, evidently finding your current state amusing, not realizing the enormity of it. His brow furrowed some as he moved towards you, to which you pointed in harsh warning.
“Sanji, just go.” You insisted, trying to resist your urge to jump his bones, to drag him back towards you without restraint.
Though still grinning impishly, he held his hands up in surrender, and, shit, that look on his face dared to make you wet, “I don’t like seeing your beautiful self unwell like this, I’m just trying to take care of you.”
Unexpectedly, you moaned at Sanji’s words; his flirtatious remarks had never worked on you before, and you so wished you’d had more control than this.
Your illicit sound caused both your eyes and Sanji’s to widen, and shamefully you tried to step back, but your legs bumped your mattress, meaning you had nowhere to run as you looked about yourself in a panic.
Though there was uncertainty in his gaze, Sanji’s eyes still gleamed with mirth, he still smirked with playful intent. He gave you another slow once over, eyes crawling the length of your body; you had to press your lips tightly together to hold back any more noises that dared to come out of you, your thighs clamping stiffly.
When his gaze eventually trailed back up to meet yours, you clenched your hands, nails digging into your palms, feeling tense all over with how desperate you were for some kind of release. There was something salacious about Sanji’s stare - you could no longer tell if it was real or your imagination. As if he could sense the effect he was having on you, he grinned wickedly.
“If you do need anything,” he started, voice so much more appealing than it had any right to be. He took a careful step towards you, looking between your eyes intently, “you know where to find me.”
A small whine caught in your throat, and you prayed it was quiet enough to be imperceptible. You had to drop your gaze, feeling utterly flushed with heat. But your luck had already run out for the day, because Sanji dipped his head some, and you caught that alluring musk of him again, making you stir.
“What is going on with you?” He teased before stepping back. He turned, hand twisting the door knob when you abruptly blurted out.
“That stupid flower did something to me!” Your words came out fast, slurring together; you weren’t sure what came over you to babble without a thought, but the pollen had seriously dampened your impulse control.
Sanji stopped and quickly spun back towards you. No longer was his expression flirtatious; instead, his brow knotted in concern, his hands grasping your shoulders before you even had the chance to stall him. You took a sharp breath, heat coursing deep in your center and head flustered from his touch.
“What do you mean? Are you okay?” Sanji’s worried tone just made you crave him even more, his instinct to take care of you way too enticing right now; fuck, when would this pass?
“I’m fine,” You squeaked out, thighs rubbing together desperately, “It's just…”
“It’s what?” With a focused look, Sanji felt your forehead again, then pressed his hand gently to your cheek, “You really are on fire, love, maybe we need--”
Again, your words spilled out like a tsunami, “I need you to stop touching me or I’m going to lose it!”
But Sanji didn’t move, so taken aback that he wasn’t sure what to do with you. His expression twisted that little bit more, driving you insane.
“Sorry, what?”
“The plant!” You grabbed his wrists, sure that you must look like a crazed woman right about now. You tried to push Sanji away, but he stood firm, “The pollen was an aphrodisiac and I’ve been unintentionally dosing myself with it for days! So, please Sanji, I feel like I’m about to burst and it's already embarrassing enough that I told you, so go!”
Sanji showed about a hundred emotions in the span of only a few seconds - worry, confusion, understanding, confusion again, until ultimately landing on that dreaded, impish inquisitiveness of his. You could see the exact moment it all clicked, that gleam of delight at your expense, that relishing curiosity. You practically threw his wrists away when you realized that you were still clutching them, groaning deeply with frustration.
Oh, how you loathed the glee in Sanji’s expression; you’d try to slap it away, except you feared doing so would just make you wetter than you already were. As he looked you over again with that trademark grin, you clenched your legs again, toes curling.
“Aphrodisiac?” Was he taunting you? “So that means--”
“Yes, it means I’m horny, okay!?” You hated how feral and aggressive you sounded, hated the way your attitude only seemed to bring him greater entertainment. With a dramatic, vulgar sigh, you dragged your hands down your face, turning away; when your shoulder bumped Sanji’s in your retreat, you jolted with a gasp.
“Well, isn’t that something?” God, he was enjoying this far too much.
“Sanji--!”
“Wait, wait.” He insisted. You closed your eyes, trying to take a soothing breath, but your body just wouldn’t calm down, the desire burning inside you only grew hotter now that he was in on your secret, “How long is this going to last?”
“I really don’t feel like talking about it right now!”
“I’m only asking--” You cut him off with a mean groan, whipping back around to glare at him. Once more, he held up his hands, but the shit-eating grin on his face was enough to make you throb. He waited a beat before trying again, licking his lips far too sinfully for your liking, “Maybe… I can help?”
“Oh my god.” You whined, your body yearning in spite of your better judgement, his suggestion making your pussy clench with the need to be touched. Foolishly, you met his eyes, which only did the job of making you want to throw yourself at him, “Sanji, don’t be stupid--”
“Is it stupid?” He insisted, stepping into your personal space again, your head dizzy with yearning. He ducked his head, eyes staring into yours earnestly, a look not quite like his usual coy ones, “Because, look, would I enjoy a little romp with you? Obviously.” You mewled smally, to which surprise briefly flashed across Sanji’s face, “So, if you think it might help, then by all means, just say so.”
You bit down hard on the inside of your cheek, trying to keep your desire in check, because you feared that you could burst any second now. Though you tried desperately to look mean and glaring, you felt far from intimidating; if that wanton look on Sanji’s face was anything to go by, then you failed miserably.
You wished that you wanted to say no. Oh, that would be so much better than agreeing to Sanji’s offer, because doing something like that with your crewmate - your friend - sounded like it would open up a whole new kind of trouble. But just the idea of it made you squirm, made your body coil like a spring; even just a moment’s thought about the things you could do made your eyes flutter.
You knew better than to go along with it. You weren’t so far gone that you couldn’t think, after all - you knew this could be bad. Unfortunately, the pollen had other ideas.
“No one can know.” You bite, body clenching again.
Sanji shrugged agreeably, playing it casually, “Of course.”
“And it won’t happen again.”
“Sure.”
“… Okay.”
“Okay.”
You stared at each other for a long beat, your chest heaving, Sanji’s eyes hooded as he shamelessly took in your expression.
God, you hoped you wouldn’t regret this.
The space between you was small already, the warmth of his breath across your cheeks causing you to shudder; the corner of his mouth quirked up in response, finally sending you over the edge.
You flung yourself at Sanji like a woman starved, winding your arms around his neck, bodies crashing together ungracefully. He was so damn sturdy, barely stumbling back as your lips feverishly met, teeth clumsily clashing. His arms wrapped around your middle, hands firmly gripping your back, fingers flexing possessively.
The moan that escaped you was downright sinful, your heart pounding rapidly inside your chest, body like static beneath Sanji’s exploratory touch. Fuck, you couldn’t tell if this was helping or hurting, your core hot and cunt pulsing, your jumping under his tender fingertips. It was pathetic the way you clung to him like a lifeline, bodies flush and mouths brazen.
As your fingers tangled in Sanji’s hair, a groan rumbled in his chest that made you frenzied, your kisses growing sloppier, tongue snaking between his lips. God, his taste was intoxicating, his tongue twining with yours, his hands unyielding nonetheless gentle as he groped at your body. Rolling your hips against his, you made yourself whimper at the feel of his firm chest, his pelvis pressing to yours.
Maybe you should have done this sooner.
Determined not to break from Sanji’s luscious lips just yet, you blindly spun the two of you around, his calves bumping the bed. Understanding what you wanted, he gripped you tightly while dropping down atop the mattress, drawing you into his lap as you moaned again.
Mouths heatedly pressed together, you shifted to better straddle Sanji’s fit legs, his cock twitching near your center. If your head wasn’t already spinning you may have been embarrassed by how wet you were, soaking through your panties.
Sanji’s hands wandered, squeezing your ass hard enough to make you gasp, using his grip to grind your hips down against his. You tugged roughly at his hair as you moved together, rutting back and forth along his growing length, clenching with the need to be filled.
Your mouths were greedy, tongues feverish, kissing as if desperate for one another’s air, noisy sounds of pleasure humming in both your throats. Sanji’s hips bucked just right beneath you, meeting you in time with the deep grind of your hot pussy.
When finally he broke from the kiss, a string of drool connected your lips, a whine sounding from your throat. Keeping up his slow, steady rhythm, Sanji met your eyes darkly, drinking you in with utter desire; you damn near came just from that look alone.
“However you want me,” he whispered against your lips, noses brushing, breath mingling. Your hips stuttered, to which he greedily grasped your ass and matched your rhythms again, “Yours to do with as you please.”
“Fuck--” You couldn’t help but gasp, feeling impossibly more turned on. You almost hated him for how damn effortlessly those sultry words came to him, grinding your hips roughly against his cock, delighting in the way his eyes momentarily crossed, “Promise?”
A short, lustful laugh escaped Sanji, his fingers groping you nice and tight, “Like this, love, I’d promise you anything.”
Another desirous sound whined in your throat as you captured his lips in a searing kiss, fire scorching bright inside you. Hips rutting rapaciously, your hands wandered down his neck and torso, shoving at his jacket as if it personally offended you. Urgently, Sanji threw it off before he grasped at you again, not wanting to lose a moment of exploring your body.
The flex of his muscles beneath your hands was maddening, taut and strong and just asking to be bit and kissed. You frantically worked the buttons of his shirt, nearly popping them as you worked your way down, down, down till the damned thing was open. Your fingers slid along Sanji’s washboard abs, causing you to groan because, fuck, this was the body he’d kept covered up all this time?
As if you couldn’t trust your touch, you split from Sanji’s lips to lean back and drink in the sight of his body, hissing desirously at how damn good he looked. Your nails scratched up his sides, over his pecs and abs, and when your lustful eyes turned back towards his, you practically keened at the focused way he was watching you.
Holding eye contact, you leaned down to nip at his chest, causing him to yelp; your body tightened as you giggled hungrily, mouth trailing up his collarbone and neck, kissing just below his jaw. Sanji leaned his head back as he twitched between your legs, letting you ravage his skin, biting and sucking and kissing to your hearts content, hickeys or teeth marks be damned.
As you all but consumed him, Sanji’s hands slid up the back of your shirt, palms hot as he traced your skin, arching into his touch. Both of your hips had fallen out of rhythm, and so Sanji reached up to grip the back of your neck, pulling you away so he could meet your eyes again.
“Let me touch you.” It sounded like both a question and an instruction, your cunt tight with utter desire. You nodded, catching your breath, and then Sanji abruptly flipped you onto your back.
Splayed on the bed, you ogled as Sanji brushed back his hair and dropped his shirt to the floor. You bit your lip, eyes hooded as he crawled over you; he pressed a single, dizzying kiss to your mouth, pulling back before you could latch onto him again.
As if understanding your urgency to be touched, Sanji’s hands reached beneath your shirt again, yanking it over your head speedily, exposing your hot skin to the cool air before he did the same thing with your shorts. You wiggled under his wandering gaze, drinking in every curve and blemish of your body like you were a three-course meal.
He lowered his mouth to your chest, biting your breast as you had done to him earlier; you bucked and gasped, feeling his smile against you. He sucked at your skin, insistently creating a hickey just above your bra, meanwhile reaching between your warm bodies, fingertips grazing over your pelvis, to which you whined.
Sanji sighed longingly as his hand moved lower and lower, teasing at you through your thin, damp panties; you clenched with a wanton mewl, desperate for so much more of him. Kissing far too tenderly over the hickey he left behind, his mouth trailed down, tongue gliding a wet trail along your stomach, ghosting along the flimsy fabric keeping him from you. For a moment, you held your breath, hands eagerly twisting in the bedsheets.
Hooking his fingers in your panties, Sanji tugged them down to your ankles, his hot breath teasing near your clit as you shucked the undergarment away with a wiggle of your foot.
He lingered painstakingly, and you looked down your nose at him, brow knotted with impatience, mouth agape as you sucked in a breath of air. His eyes were large and black with lust as he, too, glanced back towards you, expression both sweet yet taunting. You were tempted to reach out and grab his hair, to guide him towards you, but even in this fervor you managed to refrain, though you weren’t sure how long that flimsy self control would last.
“Look at you…” He sounded awestruck, and the lust in his tone made longing swirl tight around your heat, toes curling.
Now, you did reach out, fingers weaving into his hair a little more roughly than intended; it felt as if you had less control the more your desire continued to stew.
“Sanji, please.” You whispered keenly. The sound of his name on your lips like that stirred something deep in him, his gaze dark and craving, “I… shit, I need you.”
He grinned wickedly, though even the taunting in his tone was flirtatious, “About to come undone already?”
You nodded, eyes pleading, “I’m like a fucking cat in heat.”
Sanji chuckled, breathing hot against your clit, causing you to twitch, “Oh, love, I’ve got you.”
And with that, he plunged a finger inside you without warning, a surprised mewl leaping from your lips as you threw your head back. God, there was no way in hell that alone could feel so good, and yet your eyes crossed, hand flexing in Sanji’s hair. He, too, groaned at the feel of you as if utterly enthralled.
Under his breath, he groaned faintly; you were so wet, clenching around his finger, making his cock twitch in his trousers. He pumped once, twice, before sliding a second digit between your slick folds with ease, wasting no time or teasing; your body was so utterly ready for him that it was intoxicating.
The pace of his thrusts steadily picked up, your hips rolling with his movements, gasps escaping your parted lips. Your head lulled, swimming with lust as your body pulsed around him, limbs twisting pleasurably.
Fingering you greedily, the scent of your desire hit Sanji, his hips bucking against your leg in need of friction. You felt nearly pathetic, the way you rocked against his hand, the way you writhed with moaning satisfaction. Even his heavy breathing, hot on your inner thigh, sent burning waves up your spine; and when he pressed the heel of his palm against your clit, you fucking shuddered.
God, you thought this would help, but Sanji’s fingers buried inside your cunt only seemed to make you wetter and needier, as if nothing would be enough to satiate you. And when he spread his fingers wide, stretching you out deliciously, you cursed that damned plant, even as pleasured whines slipped past your lips.
As he fingered you nice and deep, Sanji’s mouth trailed hot, wet kisses along the inside of your leg, sighing contently at the taste of your salty skin on his tongue. His fingers hooked, curving up into your cervix, palm steadily massaging your clit as you keened unabashedly, toes curling and knees shaking, yanking roughly at his hair. With a hiss, he bit your flesh, not hard enough to break skin, but enough to surprise you, your hips bucking again.
“Fu-uck--!” You whined, his hand unrelenting as your eyes crossed, orgasm washing over you with a surge. For that split second, it was utter bliss, vision starry and limbs melting; but like some cruel joke, your body almost immediately grew tense and tight and desperately unfulfilled again.
That stupid plant.
You tugged encouragingly at Sanji’s hair, meeting his gaze over the swell of your heaving breasts - he was still knuckles deep inside you, eyes blown and an enthralled grin on his lips. You caught your breath, pussy clamping around his fingers, causing him to moan deep inside his chest; your body shook from the aftershocks of pleasure.
“I need more,” You instructed breathily, more like a plea than anything else. You felt as if your body was crawling, causing shakes and pulses, a twisting heat growing so big inside you that it hurt. Oh, that small bit of logic still within you was embarrassed at the way you were practically begging Sanji, needing him to make you feel good.
“My pleasure…” He said huskily, immediately tossing all of your embarrassment out the window because, fuck, he was so hot right now, making you feel so good, taking care of you like this--
Then his mouth was on your clit in the next instant, and you could have fucking burst right then and there. Your hips bucked up against his warm tongue, Sanji using his free hand to keep you down, fingers flexing in the fat of your thigh. A contented hum vibrated in his throat and your pussy, making your knees quake.
Bursts of pleasure pulsed through you as Sanji sucked your clit, his fingers continuing their wanton pumping, slower and deeper than before, pressing delectably against your cervix again now that he realized just how frenzied it made you. Your hand twisted in his hair, pulling eagerly as your hips rocked against his mouth, eyes rolling back with sinful mewls. Fuck, his tongue was goddamn perfect, swirling where you were most sensitive, lapping from pussy to clit, teasing as he slowly pulled his fingers from you before plunging back in.
Your legs were already shaking again, buzzing with satisfaction; Sanji groaned deeply at the sweet taste of you, and your knees nearly clamped around his head with a gasp.
His fingers stopped pumping, pulling out of you so he could ravage your pussy with his mouth instead. You jolted as his tongue dove between your folds, his hands tightly grabbing your legs to keep you still.
You threw your head back, drool pooling on your tongue as you rode against Sanji’s mouth, tugging his hair harshly, struggling to keep your legs spread for him. He consumed you like a man starved, licking along the strip of your cunt, diving into you, nipping your clit. Every single touch was like electricity shooting through your veins, body twitching and jumping, at the will of Sanji’s touch.
His tongue was feverish, growing sloppier and more insistent, fucking in and out of you, his own hungry sounds driving you crazy. Your body felt out of your control as you writhed, legs shaky in Sanji’s hands, hips stuttering with each lap of his tongue, fingers twisting tightly in his hair.
“Fuck, please, please--!” You muttered a nearly incoherent mantra as your hips rolled greedily, hands tugging harshly at his scalp. Sanji knew exactly what he was doing to you, mouth gaining urgency, causing your legs to nearly clasp around him again; but still, he kept them wide open in his grip. The titillation was practically unbearable as you wiggled beneath him, crying with delight, quaking as your vision went black with another earth shattering orgasm.
As you came, eyes crossed and expletives escaping you, Sanji continued his ravaging, eating you out as if he couldn’t get enough of your taste. The stimulation was nearly overwhelming, whining high in your throat, hands yanking at his hair again and again because you felt so damn good that it nearly hurt.
He finally relented, coming up for a gasp of air. His lips were shiny with your slick as he grinned wickedly, delighting in your blissed out expression while crawling up your body.
Catching your breath, that scorching heat reignited like an unscratchable itch, causing you to groan desperately in Sanji’s face. He chuckled, an enticing rumble in his chest that made your body ache for him. You could smell your fragrance on his mouth as he hovered over you, arms braced either side of your head as your noses brushed.
“You alright, love?” He spoke against your lips, the taste of yourself drawing another hum from inside you.
You wound your arms tight around Sanji’s neck, catching his lips in an impassioned, feverish kiss. Hooking your ankles around the back of his legs, you drew his body atop yours, rolling your hips against his straining erection and causing him to grunt. Your tongue snaked past his lips, tasting yourself everywhere.
As you rubbed your body with his, Sanji’s hand cupped your jaw with a surprising tenderness. There was something almost romantic about it, and you found that thought so intimidating that you abruptly broke away from the kiss, darkened eyes finding his urgently.
You ached again, the lustful needs of your body feeling like a drug high, pussy still wet and desperate, an ache coiling greedily within you. Sanji’s dick teased you through his trousers, and you ground against it insistently.
“Sanji,” the way you whined out his name caused his cock to twitch, both of you gasping with hunger. Normally, you wouldn’t speak so plainly, but considering you weren’t exactly in your right mind, the words just spilled out of you, “It’s getting worse.” When he raised his brow, you elaborated while slowly grinding against him, “Everytime I come, I need more.”
Sanji’s jaw hung slack, enjoying the way you moved against him, enraptured by your unrestrained ache for him. His voice was low and erotic against your lips, “I told you to use me, didn’t I?”
You whined again desperately. Even as you burned for him, you managed to taunt, “Confident you can keep up?”
But even that quip conjured thoughts of all the ways he could make your body feel good, and your legs flexed hungrily around him. If you weren’t so high with need, you would have glowered at that dangerous look he gave you, but unfortunately, it just made you want him more.
“For you? Oh, I could do this all day.”
You tightened like a spring, a desperate moan in your throat as you clumsily began to fumble with Sanji’s trousers, practically ripping them off in your haste. For a moment, the two of you were an awkward tangle of limbs as he shoved out of the remainder of his clothing, skin hot and sweaty to the touch, dick grazing along your stomach and pelvis as you grew hungrier for him. Your nails raked along every bit of skin you could reach, dragging along his abs and waist, trailing down his back to the curve of his ass, where you dug in just a little.
Sanji propped himself up on his hands, drinking in the sight of you as you ripped off your bra, the final offensive article of clothing flung away blindly. You took the opportunity to cast your gaze down between you, licking your lips as you eyed Sanji’s cock, red and swollen and just right.
God, you couldn’t believe that you’d just written him off this entire time, that all this time you ignored this striking man with his wicked smile and sultry eyes, his goddamn perfect physique and--
“Droolin’, love?” He teased, drawing your eyes back up. Yes you wanted him deep inside you, you wanted to take all of him; but you weren’t so foggy with desire that you couldn’t taunt him back.
“Are you?” You ask with a jeering curve of your brow. Impulsively, you opened your mouth good and wide, sticking your tongue out flat with a look of anticipation.
Sanji let out a long breath at the sight of you like this, his eyes growing dark as he grasped your jaw. Much as you would have enjoyed him to be rougher and more domineering, it wasn’t quite in his nature; no, his grip was firm yet careful, finger and thumb squeezing your cheeks as he drew you up to meet him halfway. Without breaking eye contact, he spit into your open mouth, your body shivering, surprised that he followed through with it. You swallowed with a cheeky, flirtatious smirk.
“Fuck…” Sanji muttered, dragging you up for a brief, searing kiss. You grabbed at his hips, nails digging into his skin, growing impatient for him to make you feel good again. His lips broke from yours, pressing your foreheads together, “How do you want me?”
The question alone made you whine, cunt clenching. The instruction left your mouth before you had time to think about it, “On your back.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Sanji grinned, one arm wrapping around your middle and hastily swapping places with you, sheets tangling as you nearly fell off the edge of the narrow bed.
Your head was swimming with need now that you were on hand and knee over Sanji, so hungry for him that you wasted no time ogling his body or nipping at his skin the way you normally would with a lover. No, you were desperately wet, and you needed him inside you now or else you may lose it.
You felt like an animal, the way you situated yourself over Sanji, reaching between you to give his hard cock a single pump in your hand before guiding him to your entrance.
Staring into one another’s eyes, you sat back on his dick in one slick motion, taking him to the hilt as you both groaned shamelessly, his thighs flexing beneath your ass. You lingered for a moment, cunt pulsing around him, Sanji’s hands gripping your hips, chests heaving. And as if he lit the fire inside you, you began to bounce up and down the length of his shaft.
“My god…” He growled, eyes back and fingers squeezing your hips as you bobbed on his dick, so goddamn slick and wet, bracing your hands atop his sturdy chest. He filled you so well, thick head pushing into you with each drop, sliding between your walls like he was meant to be there.
Oh, being on top was a bad idea, you realized as your eyes crossed, your neediness making you sloppy as you rolled your hips, your bouncing rhythmless as you chased your high. But it felt so good, every damn part of you, the fullness of Sanji’s cock making you dizzy, the way he stretched you out, the way he held onto you almost possessively. Shit, you couldn’t tell what felt best because you were so sensitive, going wild for how deep he reached, for the way his head caught inside you because he couldn’t pull out at this angle, the bit of pressure against your clit each time you moved.
You leaned back, steadying your palms just above Sanji’s knees, the shift causing his dick to meet your cervix, your head lulling back with a cry. You ground your hips in an eager, hectic pattern, clenching and whining at how full you were, gasping as Sanji bucked up into you to get that little bit deeper.
Shit, you were too horny and wet, that damned pollen making you feel like you were on the verge again, every minuscule movement felt good enough to make you cum already. And you knew you would, over and over again, Sanji’s cock fitting like a glove, thrusting against your sensitive clit, filling you to the brim--
“Fucking made for me--” You whimper like a woman possessed as you cum suddenly, abruptly, overwhelmingly. Your nails dug into Sanji’s thighs, body going rigid as you stared up at the ceiling. He twitched inside you, the both of you moaning together at the sensation. If you had the wherewithal, you would have been embarrassed by the thing you blurted out, by the fact that you came so fast again, but already desire was winding back through your body with no end in sight.
“Another one already, love?” Sanji whispered with a mystified grin, lazily rocking his hips with yours, hands trailing up to grope your waist and breasts. All you could do was hum with satisfaction, back arching as he tweaked your nipples. He gave a particularly deep, calculated thrust into you, delighting in the way you mewled, “Ah, but you’re not done yet.”
“Not even close.” You challenged, even as your voice wavered.
Sanji squeezed your breasts firmly, urging you to lean down towards him; he kissed you chastely before dipping his head, your back arching as his tongue swirled one of your peaked nipples.
As he bit and sucked at your breast, his hand massaged your other; his hips slowly began to thrust up into you again. Whimpers spilled past your lips over and over, Sanji’s cock hitting you a little harder each time, his tongue and teeth on your nipple causing your head to spin.
His hands trailed down to grab your ass while his mouth continued ravaging you, giving one cheek a firm slap before pressing you down on his cock. You were so hungry for him, needing more even with him balls deep, needing him like fresh water.
Sanji sucked a dark hickey on the inside of your breast, lips popping as he broke away from your skin. When he looked up at you through his lashes, you cupped his jaw and kissed him earnestly, which was far too intimate considering that this wasn’t supposed to mean anything. The thrust of his hips faltered for a moment, as if he, too, realized the warmth of it, but he quickly sped up his rhythm as if to compensate, skin slapping skin as you groaned into one another’s mouths.
When you gasped for air, you kept your forehead to Sanji’s, the angle of his pelvis rubbing against your clit making you clench and shake. His breath was hot on your lips as his cock drove into you, hand slapping your ass again just to hear you whine.
“I ne-eed--” Your voice hitched, his dick burying particularly good into you, “--need deeper.”
Sanji huffed out an ensnared laugh, thrusting inside you then lingering there. He rolled you against him, captivated by the way your pussy tightened around him, “Deeper?”
You bit down on your lip as he taunted you, grinding your hips together, “Mhm…”
Sanji’s nose grazed along your cheek and down your neck, mouth ghosting along your skin as he spoke lowly, “In that case: up.”
He stopped grinding, spanking your ass again encouragingly. You pushed yourself back to sit atop him, and Sanji’s brows rose pointedly.
“Up.” He repeated, and you then realized what he meant. You lifted off his cock, crying at how empty you were as Sanji pushed out from under you. As he stood, you eyed him up and down like a slab of meat, sighing longingly at his goddamn hypnotically perfect cock. He grasped your chin, tilting your head back to look up at him; he looked good like this, taking charge and commanding.
His gaze trailed from your eyes to your mouth then back to your eyes, a silent instruction that you eagerly obliged, opening your mouth so he could spit into it again. Your cunt tightened as his saliva hit your tongue, wet and needy for him to be back inside you.
Sanji gave you a swift kiss before releasing your chin, watching through hooded eyes as you arranged yourself doggy style before him, though your narrow bed forced you to brace your hands on the wall beside it. You peered back over your shoulder, arching your back impatiently as he simply took a moment to ogle your alluring body.
Just as you were about to whine with frustration, Sanji leaned over you, grabbing at your hips and pressing open-mouthed kisses along your shoulder and neck. You pushed your ass back, the full head of his cock brushing against your curves; he took in a deep breath of your scent, face in your hair, causing you to shudder.
His lips were so soft and sweet along your skin - too sweet, considering the carnal need eating you from the inside out. Maybe under any other circumstances you would have enjoyed Sanji’s tenderness - not that you’d dare tell him as much - but at the moment, all you could do was groan insistently while pressing your ass back.
“Sanji, fuck me.” You urged, causing him to lift his head and meet eyes over your shoulder; you couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but there was something serious in his gaze. Just as quickly as you noticed it, though, it was gone, Sanji leaning back to regard your ass, one hand squeezing it while he grabbed his erection in the other, lining himself up with your entrance.
His head nudged at your cunt, teasing up and down the slit, prodding at your clit. Just the baiting alone made you yearn, back arching again needily. He met your eyes once more as he slowly sunk into you, this new angle causing vulgar moans to escape you as he so easily bottomed out, filling you completely. Fuck, he got so deep, head just prodding at your uterus, your pussy constricting around his girth.
He lingered, as if allowing you to adjust to his size, though you were so damn wet and high that you just wanted him to fuck you till it hurt. With a drunken look in your face, you pushed back against his hips, mewling with satisfaction, hands flexing against the splintering wall. Behind you, Sanji, too, groaned, reaching around you to swirl his fingers over your swollen clit; the sensation caused your head to lull back, falling onto his shoulder.
You were damn near tempted to beg for him, to plead that he take you rough and quick. But as the words almost left your mouth, Sanji pulled out, stopping when all that was left was his head, before slamming back into you. You yelped with surprise, eyes crossing as he began to pump his hips, sinking into you over and over, so fast and deep that it was nearly painful - exactly how you wanted it, that goddamn mindreader.
The sounds spilling from your lips were so crass and pornographic - you were never so vocal before, but now you simply couldn’t help it. Not with Sanji’s cock buried perfectly between your folds, his hands squeezing your hips, his mouth hot on your skin. You couldn’t be sure if it was the damned plant making you like this or if it was really, simply him.
As Sanji fucked you like he was the one who needed it, you curved back into him, his chest to your back, hair tangling as his heavy panting blew across your face, the angle of your neck allowing you to rest your sweaty forehead against his chin. God, his own grunts of pleasure were all-consuming, making your cunt tighten and your knees shake; you had to grope tightly at the wall for purchase, feeling as if you could lose your grip at any moment.
“This how you want it?” Sanji muttered hoarsely, to which you hummed eagerly, “More?”
“God, ye-es,” You slurred.
He immediately started snapping his hips with even more intensity, a deep cry leaping from you. He leaned into you heavily, bracing his hands on the wall either side of yours, and you felt like you were going to come undone from how good he made you feel, how his hard cock plunged deep into you, how his hips slammed against your ass urgently.
Shit, there were stars in your eyes as you took him, pussy soaking wet and clenching tight, legs shaky with pleasure. You couldn’t help the way your limbs began to dissolve into jelly, struggling to stay upright, arching as you pressed forward, cheek to the wall in front of you, drool teasing as the corner of your mouth.
Feeling you melt on him, Sanji’s arms snaked around you again, cupping your breasts and forcing you back against him, sweat slick between your bodies as the angle change caused you to keen. His hands were delectably rough, one fondling your nipple as the other snaked down to your front, lingering just out of reach from your clit. His fingers splayed across your pelvis, pressing you back into him firmly, holding you steady as his cock thrust up into you.
“Really am made for you,” Sanji grumbled into your hair, teeth nipping at your ear. With the way your head spun, you nearly forgot what you’d said earlier until he recalled it, the gruffness of his words making you pulse around him. He moaned deep in his chest at the feel of you, hips driving with particular intensity, the pressure above your clit making you dizzy.
Sanji’s hand on your breast trailed up your neck to your jaw, urging you to turn your head so he could kiss you sloppily, his tongue shoving hungrily into your mouth, thrusts unrelenting.
When your lips broke apart, he kept you there, forehead to yours as he groaned, “Say it again.”
The request made a spring tighten deep inside, a moan falling from your mouth into his. Again, under different circumstances, you’d be nearly embarrassed by your dirty talk, but now it just made you wetter.
“Your cock was made for me,” You mewled, voice hitching, lips brushing Sanji’s with each word. He whined, hips persistent up against yours, only encouraging you, “Fits me so fucking good--”
Unexpectedly, his cock slammed up hard into you, the both of you yelping as he stiffened and held you tight. You could feel him cumming deep inside, twitching and grunting, filling you to the brim. And you were right there behind him, turned on so much by the fact that he was spilling into you; you lost control with a wild cry, body trembling with your release.
For a long beat, the two of you stayed just like that, tangled together and panting heavily. Your head was still spinning, Sanji’s cum slowly leaking down your thigh; and like the curse that just wouldn’t quit, your body lit up again carnally, ready to keep going and going and going.
“Shit,” Sanji hissed into your hair, finally coming back down to earth.
The both of you quivered as his hands dropped to your hips, easing himself slowly out of you with a low keen; the loss of him caused his seed to ooze out of you, soaking the inside of your legs. He rested his sweaty forehead between your shoulder blades as he caught his breath.
“Sorry, I didn’t think I’d cum that fast.”
You hummed contently, blindly reaching back to knot your fingers through his hair. Even as your body ached for him again, your lips curved up with jest, “You can do this all day?”
To your teasing, Sanji roughly squeezed your hips; you could feel his smile against your clammy skin, “Oh, I promise that. Just gimme five minutes.”
True to his word, Sanji recovered in record time; you spent those few minutes waiting touching yourself, though even that couldn’t make you feel as good as he did. That goddamn pollen was unrelenting - you’d lost track of how many orgasms you had once Sanji returned to you, using his hands and mouth and cock to bring your ruination time and again. And even then, you kept begging for more.
By the time your body had stopped burning, you realized just how spent you really were, muscles aching in all the right ways, limbs quivering even while you did nothing.
Fuck, even once you were back in your right mind, you couldn’t stop thinking about Sanji - that was the best fucking sex of your life, but how the hell could you tell him that? This was your crewmate, your friend, an obnoxious flirt, and, apparently, some kind of sex aficionado, considering all the ways he managed to make you cum. Once he eventually left the safety and comfort of your room, the spell would really be broken, you weren’t sure how you were ever going to look at him normally ever again.
But right now, as you watched him redress slowly - because he was just as worn out as you were - you tried not to let the panic set in. You were certain there was no fucking way you could just be normal with him moving forward. The thought that you and Sanji would be sharing a secret this big made something coil inside you, and for a moment you nearly panicked, thinking that maybe the plant’s effects hadn’t totally worn off and were back with vengeance.
But, no, it had nothing to do with the damned pollen. You realized, frighteningly, that it was completely and utterly you getting worked up thinking about what Sanji was able to do to you; your reaction had nothing to do with that plant at all.
You weren’t certain if Sanji could tell that you were panicking, because you weren’t sure what was going on in his head, either. Yet, when he met your watchful gaze while shrugging into his shirt, he gave you that dazzling, gorgeous grin of his, and you couldn’t help smiling back; though, the butterflies swirling in your stomach filled you with something akin to dread.
Sanji bit the inside of his lip as he studied your face; it seemed like he was trying to make up his mind about something, which only made you more nervous.
Before you could think or react or stop him, Sanji swiftly dipped down to where you lay on the bed, tenderly cupping your cheek and swooping in to steal a kiss that made your heart skip a beat inside your chest.
Shit, maybe this did mean something after all. And that terrified you most of all.

Addt, Author's Note | Been a little while since I've written smut, so hopefully this wasn't just repetitive or disappointing lol. I don't totally love the ending, but it isn't the worst, so c'est la vie~
A/N: Huh? Wha-? Me again? So soon?? Just take it and goooo! I don’t know! But also, this is mostly leaning Sanji x Reader, but there are some implied Zoro x Reader moments as well, so I tagged both. No established relationship between either, but implied jealousy/competition from the two
Edit to add: A "Part 2" and "Part 3" (note the quotation marks, these are very loosely considered follow-up parts) are also up, if you become interested
Type: Short fic; 2,820 words
Synopsis: You and the Straw Hat crew stop at an island that is a bit like a more complex Venice and run into some trouble. You come face-to-face with a life or death situation and Sanji saves you, but it causes some friction between him and Zoro.
Warnings: Brief mentions of fighting, non-graphic violence, Reader nearly drowns, CPR is administered (PLEASE do not take medical advice from this fic, as I cannot guarantee that the information included here is accurate), Reader is a devil-fruit user (hence cannot swim?), heights, fem reader, pet names used, no established relationships, maybe some pining, jealousy for sure, cursing/strong language
When the Going Merry pulled into the port, the Straw Hat crew marvelled at the complex maze of scaffolding and bridges and various pathways through the city. The island appeared to be made of hundreds of smaller land masses criss-crossed with rivers and stacked high with thousands of colorful buildings, all connected with wooden planks, boards, ropes, and the occasional more sturdy bridge.
“It’s like the whole island is made of a ship’s rigging!” You exclaimed as you stared up in awe at the kaleidoscope of buildings, houses, and shacks. “I mean, look at all those ropes! It’s like they’re afraid the island will float apart without them!” Luffy jumped down next to you on the deck, smiling ear to ear in that infectious way of his, “Yeah! This place looks awesome!”
Everyone joined the two of you and helped tie up the ship before disembarking. While the boys started wandering off the ship and down the dock, you and Nami spoke with the dockmaster to shore up the administrative questions. Just a simple crew looking to stock up on supplies, nothing to see here.
The dockmaster gave you a few directions about where to find some good local spots and some interesting things to do on the island. He warned you about taking care where you step, as some of the pathways were older or more shoddily put together than others, and the currents in the rivers run deep and fast. You thanked him and headed off to catch up with the rest of the crew. Nami dolled out allowances and relayed the warnings to everyone before setting them free to explore.
Late afternoon arrived and most of the crew met back on the ship with their spoils. Sanji bragged about the special ingredients available on the island, Nami found some adorable new clothes and shoes, Usopp purchased and shipped out a present for Kaya, and you bought a new book to read on the ship (along with a few cute outfits yourself).
“But, uh, where’s Zoro and Luffy?” Usopp asked, leaning off the side of the ship to see if he could spot them coming down the docks.
“Knowing those two, they probably got lost,” Nami smirked.
“Or distracted by food,” you chimed in.
“Speaking of food,” Sanji lifted a box of ingredients from the deck, “I’m going to stash my precious ingredients for the journey and start on dinner.” He started heading below deck, calling behind him, “I’ll be in the galley if you need me!”
You waved at his back and busied yourself shifting boxes and organizing things until Usopp piped up. “Should we look for them?” He nervously glanced at the horizon and the slowly setting sun, “It’s getting kind of late, you know?”
Nami groaned and collapsed on a chair on the deck, “I’ve done enough walking today. If you wanna chase those two down, go for it.”
“By myself?” Usopp grimaced. You put down a crate on top of another box and moved to join Usopp at the gangway. “I’ll come with you.” Usopp looked relieved and the two of you set off back into the island, or many little islands, looking for your friends.
How it happened, you had no idea. One moment you were out with Usopp, looking for Luffy and Zoro, and the next moment you’re running for your lives down rickety planks of wood from a rival pirate crew.
Luffy and Usopp crashed through a makeshift wall in between two shacks, taking four of the rival pirates with them. The pathway you’d all been running down collapsed behind them. You and Zoro skidded to a stop.
Separated. Luffy and Usopp emerged from the rubble on another pathway closer to the ground level.
“Meet back at the ship!” You shouted down at them. Luffy gave you a thumbs up. Usopp shouted and pointed behind you, “Watch out!”
You and Zoro looked over your shoulders to see eight more pirates running up the bridge. You lifted your arm and formed a glowing yellow ball in your hand, then you threw it forward through the group of pirates. The yellow ball hit two of them and exploded into electricity, shocking them and sending them to the ground. The others behind them skidded to a halt, alarmed by the sight of their twitching comrades.
Zoro tugged on your hand, “Nice one, but come on, let’s go!” He pushed you in front of him and the two of you took off again, down a still functioning scaffolding to your right. But as you got closer to the edge of the island, you realized that you were still two levels above the main docks. You could see the Going Merry in the distance, and just make out Luffy and Usopp’s silhouettes running down the dock, chased by even more pirates. Gosh, how many of them are there?!
You and Zoro approached the edge of the island, the rigging getting more and more sparse. No more full bridges at all, and some just long planks of wood laid across gaps in the path, with the rushing river below.
“How do we get down?” Zoro urged you. You scanned the various paths as quickly as you could. Finally, you spotted it. “There!” You pointed to a ramp that connected one platform to another. It was just one long plank that sloped downward, but it was your only way forward. The platform it landed on had a bridge to the main dock and then it was home free.
“Go for it! I’ll hold them off.” Zoro stopped at the edge of the board and turned around, drawing two of his swords. You turned to the ramp. It was no more than two feet across. Narrower than you would’ve liked. You looked down at the river below where it flowed into the ocean. It had to be almost 30 feet below. You gulped, but when you looked behind you the pirates were already almost on top of you and Zoro. You had to cross, now.
Taking a deep breath, trying not to think about the fall or how the board shuddered slightly with every pounding step of the approaching enemy, you took your first step onto the plank. Then another. Then another. Halfway. Then two-thirds. You were almost there. You could hear Zoro fighting behind you now. Maybe you should go back, maybe you should help-
Slam!
One of the pirates kicked at the board, trying to cut off your escape. It lurched sideways, throwing you off balance. You screamed and threw your hand out to catch something, anything, as you tumbled off the plank. Your hand caught the side of it, just barely; your body yanked to a stop. Pain shot through your shoulder, but your death grip on the board didn’t let go. Not yet anyway.
You struggled to pull yourself up, but you couldn’t. You couldn’t even swing your other hand up to the board.
“Zoro!” You cried out, “Zoro, please! I can’t-!”
“Hold on!” Zoro grunted, pushing one pirate off of him and slashing at another. He spared a glance to see you desperately trying to find purchase on something to help pull yourself up. A pirate’s fist collided with his stomach, drawing his attention back. If he could just, finish them off…
Your grip was slipping. On the ship, the rest of the crew fought the pirates who chased Luffy and Usopp back. They made quick work of them, overwhelming the pirates once the four Staw Hats were together on the ship.
Sanji kicked one thug in the chest and spun around to deliver a kick to another in the head. They both went down, but when he heard you scream, his head whipped up. He saw you dangling from the wooden plank, the panic clear as day on your face and the mouth of the river below you, churning water meeting the sea.
You felt yourself slip again, and you only managed to cry out one more time, “Zoro! Please!”
Zoro dispatched the last pirate with a slash of his sword and spun around, his arm already outstretched to grab you, but it was too late. Your hand slipped from the plank. You screamed and plummeted into the water below.
The water was cold and the river current immediately pushed you into the ocean. You instinctually gasped for breath but got only salty water in your lungs. You panicked and thrashed, not knowing which way was up, being pulled in every direction until you broke the surface for a moment. You tried to breathe, scream for help, but a wave pushed you down again.
This is it.
On the ship, Sanji stripped off his jacket and kicked off his shoes. He didn’t hesitate before he climbed onto the railing of the ship and dove into the water. He saw you, for just a second, break above the water. He held the location in his mind and swam out to where he knew he saw you last. He dove down and found you, floating, still. He grabbed your arms and placed them around his neck and swam to the surface. He dragged you over to the ship where the crew was shouting. “Quick! Pull them up!”
“The life preserver! Here!”
“Sanji, catch!”
They helped him lift you onto the deck and Sanji placed you down gently. It only took a second for them to realize you weren’t breathing.
“She’s swallowed too much water! She can’t breathe!” Usopp grabbed his head with one hand, beginning to pace.
Sanji wasted no time. He straddled you, placed one hand over the other on your chest, and began pumping up and down, “Come on, love. Don’t do this to me.” After a count, he leaned down to listen for your breath. Nothing. He started again. Counting, muttering under his breath, “Come on, wake up! Breathe for me!” He checked again, still nothing. Finally, he pinched your nose and opened your mouth. He took a deep breath and leaned forward to push all of it into your lungs. He pulled back and almost instantly, you coughed, water gurgling in your throat. He pulled you onto your side as he said, “there you go, love, just let it all out,” and gently patted your back as you coughed and hacked and spit out ocean water.
“Oh thank god,” Nami exclaimed. Usopp let out the breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. Luffy slapped Sanji on the back and hugged Usopp, both of them clearly relieved. You coughed more and finally breathed air again, salt stinging your eyes.
Zoro finally rushed onto the ship, jumping down from the railing and making his way toward you.
“Don’t,” Sanji growled, rising to stand over you, dripping wet and furious. His white shirt clung to his chest as the setting sun turned his hair a bright gold. His chest heaved as he stared Zoro down. “Don’t you dare.”
“What?” Zoro halted.
“Where the hell were you?!”
“Fighting six men on four square feet of wood, cook!”
“She almost died, mosshead, and she called for you, but you weren’t there!”
“I tried-!”
“Not fucking good enough!”
“Stop!” You coughed and struggled to sit up. “Please, don’t.” Your voice was hoarse from hacking up saltwater, “Don’t start a fight…” You started shivering, from the cold as the sun set or from your worst fears being realized, you weren’t sure.
The two stared each other down for a second longer before backing off. Sanji went over to his discarded jacket and placed it around your shoulders, kneeling beside you.
Nami broke the tension, back to business, “We need to get out of here.”
“But we can’t, the Log Pose hasn’t reset,” Usopp reminded everyone. Nami nodded, “Then we at least need to anchor the ship away from the main docks, where we can see anyone coming. There’s a cove not far from here that should work. Usopp,” Nami started giving orders, “At the rudder, please.” Usopp saluted and headed to the back of the ship. “Luffy, keep an eye out for anyone following us.” Luffy put his hat back on his head and nodded, pulling himself to the front of the ship. “And, Zoro, help me cast off. You two,” she turned to you and Sanji, “head below decks and wash up. Don’t need anyone catching a cold tonight.”
You struggled to your feet, still feeling a little shaky. Sanji offered you his arm, which you gladly took. He picked up his shoes and lead you down the stairs below deck to the washroom.
After a much needed soak in a warm bath, you exited the washroom that you and Nami shared and slipped back to your room on the ship, your towel drawn tightly around you. You had just managed to get into your room when a knock came at the door.
“Who is it?” You called, looking for some fresh clothes to put on from your trunk.
“Uh, me.” You recognized Zoro’s gruff voice through the door.
“Just a second!” You looked around and threw on the first thing you could find, a simple pair of sleep shorts and an oversized shirt, before cracking open the door to address the swordsman.
“Yeah, hi, Zoro, what’s up?”
He didn’t look at you and fidgeted with his sword hilt (one of them, anyway). “Can we talk,” he asked, looking over his shoulder. “Uh, sure,” you opened the door wider to let him in.
Zoro slipped into your room and waited for you to close the door. When you turned to face him, he still didn’t quite look you in the face. He stared out the porthole for a minute before taking a deep breath, bracing himself for something. Then he said, “I’m sorry… for failing you…”
You were taken aback. “What?”
He shifted his weight, and repeated, “I’m sorry for failing you. It won’t happen again.”
You furrowed your brows, “Zoro, you didn’t-”
“I did. You could’ve died, drowned, and I wasn’t fast enough.” He lowered his head, “I was trying to get to you, but I-”
You moved forward and placed your hand on Zoro’s chest. “I know.” He looked up at you, and you continued, “I know you tried your hardest, Zoro, and I don’t blame you for what happened. It wasn’t your fault.”
Zoro shook his head, “I should’ve caught you.”
“Hey, I’m okay. I’m fine.”
“But you can’t- You almost drowned.”
It was your turn to look out the porthole, remembering the crushing weight of the ocean, the saltwater filling your lungs, feeling panic set in as the current dragged you to the depths and your world went dark… You shuddered.
Zoro placed his hand on top of where yours rested over his heart, bringing you back to the present. You looked up into his eyes and gave him a small smile, “I’m safe now. It’s okay.”
Zoro squeezed your hand, “I’m sorry…”
“I forgive you, Zoro…”
The words finally reached him. You could see his tense shoulders relax, like a weight had been lifted. Like all he needed was your absolution.
He looked as if he was going to say something more, but a swift knock on your door preceded Sanji poking his head in.
When his eyes fell on Zoro, then his hand over yours on his chest, Sanji’s usual relaxed expression turned into a frown. He quickly recovered and looked to you, “Just checking on you, sweetheart. How’re you feeling?”
You stepped back from Zoro and he let your hand fall before you responded, “Uh, yeah, I’m feeling okay. I was just telling Zoro that I don’t blame him for what happened.”
Sanji hummed, “How generous of you, angel.” His voice sounded light, but there was a sharpness behind it. Apparently, your pointed comment had not landed as you’d hoped.
You glanced at Zoro, who stared coldly at Sanji as he said, “Don’t you knock.”
“I did, mosshead. You should get your ears checked.”
“You didn’t even wait before opening the door,” Zoro crossed his arms. “What if she’d been changing or something?”
Your face flushed at the thought, suddenly realizing that you were only wearing your pajamas.
Sanji scoffed, “As if you’d be allowed the privilege to be present for that.”
You blushed harder and bit your lip. Zoro shifted uncomfortably, not looking at you, just glaring at Sanji, “That’s not what I-”
“Oookayy!” You interrupted before this line of conversation could get any worse, “I think I heard Nami calling you both, yeah? It sounded really important!” You began lightly pushing the two out of your room. “You should probably go check that everything is set for the night, thankyousomuch!” You quickly shut the door in their faces.
On the other side, Sanji and Zoro stared at each other for a second longer, both narrowing their eyes. Then they both turned on their heels and stalked off in opposite directions.

“this guy is full of shit.”
you knock your shoulder into zoro’s wider one. “be nice. and so what if he is?”
zoro gives you a pointed glare. “then we should turn around and look for someone who can actually help us find a ship.”
“all business, as per usual,” you reply, with a purposefully dramatic sigh. “why can’t you have a little fun?”
“what about this is supposed to be fun?” zoro spits out the word like it’s poisonous. “this is the blandest village i’ve ever seen.”
you scoff. “now you’re the one that’s full of shit. nothing’s ever bland with us and you know it.”
the us in question was your newly formed pirate crew… if you and luffy could even be considered that. having left the ship you’d been on a few years ago, you were in search of a new crew. luffy was persistent and charming — when you’d crossed paths in shells town, it took little to no time for him to convince you to join his hunt for the one piece. zoro and nami, on the other hand, had yet to follow in your footsteps.
“well, considering that we’ve only been traveling together for a day and a half and i’ve already escaped a marine base, defeated a marine captain, and fought a clown with devil fruit powers… i’d actually have to agree.”
you can’t help but giggle at his sarcastic delivery. “be grateful, zoro. not many pirate crews are this fun to be on, trust me. oh wait, that’s right, you still haven’t officially joined—”
“tell me about your old pirate crew,” interjects zoro, your comment having piqued his interest.
you notice that the playful atmosphere dissipates. “god, where do i even start?”
zoro answers that for you. “why did you leave?”
“starting with the hard hitting questions, huh?” you joke, mostly to stall. you clear your throat before you answer. “well, it was different. nothing like what luffy has going on. he actually cares about his crew… and even those who aren’t technically on it.”
at that, a smile tugs at the corner of zoro’s lips. even you crack a small grin. although as you continue speaking, it fades.
“on my old crew, we were dispensable. anytime something went wrong, our own captain would threaten to kill us. it was… scary, to be completely honest. there were so many times when i thought i’d die with that filthy crew. and i never wanted that. so as soon as we docked at shells town, i left.”
zoro’s jaw clenches as imagines the things you’d seen and been subjected to. “this old captain of yours sounds like a real—”
“he was a nightmare,” you tell him. “he didn’t care that i was the only woman on board, he treated me just as horribly, if not worse.”
zoro stops so suddenly that it takes you a second to realize he’s not walking alongside you.
“what do you mean by that.” the way zoro phrases the inquiry doesn’t even make it sound like a question. more like a demand. his narrowed eyes are fixed solely on you. holding his gaze feels… intense.
you can’t help but glance away as you answer him. “he was just a bit of a creep.”
before zoro has the chance to try and extract more information out of you, a familiar voice calls both your names. you’re not really sure when you and zoro had fallen behind but from where you currently stand, the rest of your group looks miniature. or perhaps it’s just the massive size of the mansion behind them that makes luffy, nami, and usopp look pocket-sized in comparison.
“why’d you stop walking?!” your captain shouts, hands pressed on each side of his mouth to amplify his voice. “get over here, we’re about to go in through the top secret entrance!”
you vaguely make out usopp gesturing for luffy to keep his voice down. you’re sure that would warrant another comment from zoro about his reliability but he’s too busy staring at you with that expectant look in his eyes.
“we better catch up,” you tell him, heading in the direction of the deluxe home.
he allows you to dodge the subject and sighs, walking in long strides to catch up to you.
“i’ve never seen a house this big before,” luffy admits, admiring the mansion along with the wellkept greenery surrounding it.
“awesome, right?” usopp gloats, walking around like he owned the place. “kaya’s given me an open invitation to drop by anytime i want.”
“wow.” you’re not sure if luffy was just going along with usopp’s act or if he really believed him. knowing the devil fruit user, it was more than likely the latter. “all this for just one person?”
“well, she lives here with her butler and a few other staff,” usopp replies, leaning against the stone well that sat in the middle of the lawn.
“money really shows you who people truly are,” nami mutters, eyes scanning the property. “most people only care about themselves and what’s theirs.”
zoro is quick to throw the insult back at her. “sounds like someone i know.”
you roll your eyes at his comment, though you make no effort to disagree with him. nami was a little on the materialistic side.
“and a small staff makes for easy pickings,” she continues, proving your point.
“we just got here and you’re already planning on robbing the place blind?” you ask though you already know the answer.
“at least a little blurry,” she smirks, following behind luffy and usopp who walk toward the entrance.
you and zoro share a look. one that says disappointed but not surprised.
going under a shrub shaped as an arch, you’re met with a beautiful pond. you admire the pink lilies that float at the top and the bushes that were intricately trimmed into the shape of various animals. even if the people that lived here were filthy rich, at least they had good decorative taste.
“so if you have an invitation, why are we going around the back way?” luffy ponders.
usopp’s answer is nonchalant. “oh, i never use the front entrance. like i said, this is the vip entrance reserved for special guests.”
zoro scoffs. “this guy’s definitely–”
“don’t start,” you groan, cutting him off.
abruptly, usopp freezes and spins around, attempting to usher your crew back. “you know what, there’s actually a more exclusive entrance this way–”
the sharp swoosh of a knife cutting through the air and burying itself in the ground between usopp’s feet cuts him off. from the direction the kitchen utensil was thrown stands a heavyset gentleman with his face wrinkled in anger. his demanding voice booms through the garden, “the hell are you doing here, usopp?”
the dark-skinned boy fumbles over his word. “buchi, buddy, uh, kaya’s expecting me.”
“another one of your lies,” the man – seemingly named buchi – seethes, grabbing him by the collar. “you ain’t welcome here and you know it.”
“i know nothing of the sort,” usopp retorts, keeping his cool even when he was practically being lifted off the ground by his shirt. “i’m here to give kaya an extra special gift.”
before buchi can get another word out, a feminine voice calls out for your companion. coming down the steps is a frail looking girl in a pink dress. on her arm is a man dressed in a crisp suit, presumably the butler usopp had mentioned earlier. though, from where you stand you can’t see either of their faces too clearly.
“what a wonderful surprise,” she exclaims, breathlessly.
“kaya!” usopp exclaims, returning her enthusiasm. buchi has no choice but to let him go, begrudgingly. usopp makes sure to shoot him a smug look before walking towards the young girl. “happy birthday.”
the butler clears his throat, not afraid to intrude on their special moment. “usopp, we’ve discussed this before. you mustn’t show up unannounced.”
“nonsense, klahadore.” kaya smiles warmly. “have you come to tell me another story? i do love hearing about your adventures.”
“i’ll do you one better,” usopp smirks with such confidence that even you’re left wondering what kind of surprise he has up his sleeve. “i brought some of my crew!” he gestures back towards the four of you, proudly.
your excitement vanishes. “oh. the surprise is… us.”
“well, that’s boring,” luffy agrees, just as disappointed as you are.
kaya, on the other hand, is none the wiser. “it’s so nice to meet you. you must all stay for dinner.”
klahadore lowers his voice. “miss kaya, it is a bit last minute. i’m afraid the kitchen hasn’t prepared for any extra guests.”
“please,” begs kaya, softly. “it’s my birthday. can’t be too much trouble can it?”
giving in, klahadore purses his lips. “anything for you, miss kaya.”
luffy claps his hands together. “alright! when do we eat?”
“you don’t. not dressed like that, at least.” the butler directs himself to a staff member with teal colored hair. “sham, kindly show usopp and his friends to the guest suites. you will bathe and change before dinner.”
she follows his orders and leads the way. luffy, usopp, nami, and zoro trail behind her and you go to do the same. however, all it takes is a quick glance to stop you dead in your tracks. usually, you weren’t one to stare but klahadore’s face. that stare. so dark and depraved.
“yes, miss?” he asks, holding your gaze. “can i help you?”
“n-no, i…” your throat goes dry as you attempt to recover smoothly. “i just wanted to, um, thank you for being so hospitable.”
his lips curve upwards into a sinister grin. “the pleasure’s all mine.” as if to confirm your worst fear, klahadore uses his palm to readjust his glasses. his beady eyes gauge your reaction closely.
the familiar gesture sends chills down your spine. appearance-wise, he had changed drastically but his aura was still just as menacing as you remember it. he was still the corrupt pirate captain you used to serve under. you feel like a weak and helpless subordinate all over again.
“klahadore!” giggles kaya. “you’re smiling! that’s certainly a rarity.”
he hums. “i’ve simply come to the realization that having guests once in a while can truly be a delight.”
his sickeningly sweet tone makes your stomach turn. just the fact that you were standing in front of him – captain kuro – again after all these years was nauseating in itself. last you’d heard he had died at the hands of captain morgan. how was this even possible? then again, he wasn’t dubbed kuro of a hundred plans for no reason. he always had a trick or two up his sleeve. you assumed this was no different.
“hey, you comin’?”
you turn around to see zoro waiting for you. he meets your gaze for a moment. the softness of his eyes is a stark contrast to kuro’s. it’s a breath of fresh air. he then shifts his attention to your former captain and you swear his eyes darken.
“yeah, sorry,” you mumble, trying not to look shaken as you walk up the steps.
zoro follows behind you, this time closer than before.
“why would anybody even need this many clothes?”
“it’s not about need with these people, luffy. it’s about want,” nami spits, thumbing through the various fabrics on the wall.
“at least she’s rich and nice,” luffy replies, innocently.
nami rolls her eyes. “yeah, letting us stay for dinner must be her idea of charity work.”
“what are we even supposed to wear?” luffy continues, uninterested in nami’s criticism of the rich.
“anything you want. when are you ever going to get the opportunity to wear things this nice?”
you step out from behind the changing board where you’d swapped out your old tee and cargo skirt for an elegant satin dress. it was a stunning shade of olive green and frilly lace decorated the edges. not to mention, it hugged your curves in all the right ways.
nami’s eyes widen. “see, she’s got the right idea. you look amazing.”
you smile, bashfully. “honestly, i feel amazing.”
“you look the same to me,” your captain shrugs.
nami shoots him a death glare but you intervene before she can scold him.
“way to keep me humble, luffy.”
“no problem!”
at that exact moment, a freshly showered zoro arrives donning a silk robe. he eyes the multitude of garments that cover every inch of the room, not particularly impressed.
“there you are. don’t you think she looks nice?” nami asks him, gesturing towards you. she doesn’t notice how you shrink under zoro’s gaze. neither does he, as his eyes take their time raking over you, from top to bottom.
he hums. “suits you.” with that, he sets off towards a chair in the corner of the room.
“seriously?” sighs nami, exasperated. “are you two physically unable to give compliments or something?”
“hey, doesn’t that butler seem familiar to you guys?” zoro asks, promptly ignoring nami’s complaint.
his question causes your breath to hitch. you’d pushed the kuro problem to the back of your mind while you were in search of a suitable dinner outfit. you figured that as long as your crew was by your side, he wouldn’t dare try anything. and even if he did… well, you’d seen what had happened to axe-hand morgan and buggy.
“yeah, i think he was at the last dinner party i attended,” nami replies sarcastically, taking a handful of dresses behind the changing board.
as he takes a seat, zoro grumbles, “i swear i’ve seen him before.”
“where?” you can’t help but ask, fiddling with the lace on the neckline of your dress.
“so far, i’ve got two suspicions. a wanted poster or funky bar on mirrorball island. you ever been?”
you know zoro’s teasing you, judging by the grin on his face. after all, funky bar was known to get insanely rowdy; never would he imagine finding someone as gentle as you there. but what he didn’t know is that it happened to be one of kuro’s favorite bars. per his request, you and the rest of the black cat pirates frequented it often, so he was more than likely right about having seen kuro there. he’d probably even seen you in passing, once or twice. thankfully, he doesn’t seem to have any recollection of that.
the thought of zoro knowing about your past forms a knot in the pit of your stomach. would he think less of you for having joined such a ruthless crew at one point in your life? what if it put a strain on the friendship you’d worked so hard to form?
“i’ve, uh, heard of it,” you decide to reply, pushing down your worries for the time being.
he tilts his head slightly, thinking out loud. “then again, i have seen a lot of wanted posters and bars in my time as a pirate hunter.”
you feel a grin creep onto your face. “probably more bars than posters, huh?”
zoro mirrors your smile. “shut up.”
by the time dinner rolls around, the entire crew is doing what they do best.
luffy is stuffing his face, nami is attempting to swindle one of the staff, zoro is hanging by the drinks, and you’re hanging by zoro.
“hey zoro, you gotta try this!” luffy calls through a mouthful of food.
“i’ve got all i need right here,” he mutters, taking a swig out of his champagne flute.
“you know, i don’t think i’ve ever seen you choke down something that isn’t alcohol,” you comment, watching the way he downs the glass in one go.
dryly, he replies, “that’s because i haven’t.”
“very on brand.”
“ladies and gentlemen,” calls out that voice from the top of the stairs. “may i present… miss kaya.”
arm in arm, kuro and kaya walk down the steps, all eyes on the birthday girl and her stunning gown. well, except you. your eyes never leave the so-called butler by her side. your jaw clenches when he has the audacity to meet your gaze and hold it. shameless bastard.
once they reach the bottom, merry leads kaya to the guests while kuro takes his post at the bottom of the stairs… right next to the drink table. before you can think about steering yourself and zoro away, kuro speaks.
“forgive me if i am speaking out of line, madam, but i must inform you. you look positively radiant,” he purrs, soaking in your appearance. he looks ready to pounce.
you can’t stop your eyes from rolling. good to know he’s the same pervert he used to be.
looking between you both and sensing your discomfort, zoro steps in. “and you look familiar.”
kuro’s head stiffly turns to face him, eyes peeling away from you. “highly doubtful, sir.”
“funky bar? mirror ball island?”
“funky bar?” kuro repeats, disgusted. “well, i can assure you i’ve never patronized that type of establishment.”
while it was amusing to see your highly esteemed former captain lie through his teeth, the tension between him and zoro was unbearable.
“well then.” zoro continues with his little interrogation. “ever been on a wanted poster?”
you cringe at his bluntness. sometimes it seemed like he had less of a filter than luffy.
kuro puts on a scandalized face at the question. “sir! such an accusation is highly offensive.” tugging on his collar, he goes to remove himself from zoro’s probing. “now, if you’ll excuse me, i’m going to help prepare the dinner table.”
he leaves, en route to the dining room. zoro’s eyes follow his figure until he disappears, squinting as he racks his brain for any further recollection of this suspicious butler.
you sigh. if zoro was going to continue being so relentless, you were sure the night would end in bloodshed and uncovered secrets.
“keep this coming,” zoro demands, handing the empty wine bottle to sham. she takes it with a glare.
“would it kill you to say please?” you ask, slicing the slab of fish on your plate into smaller pieces.
“the service here is shitty. why should i have to be polite?”
you scowl. “remind me to never have dinner with you again.”
zoro turns to you with that cocky grin of his. “what if i asked nicely?”
his quip makes your heart flutter but you manage to keep your composure. “you can try your luck.”
before he can respond, usopp speaks up. “luffy, isn’t there something that you wanted to talk to kaya about?”
luffy gesticulates enthusiastically with his fork. “oh, yes! usopp told me that you own the whole shipyard.”
“well, actually, my parents founded the shipyard and merry’s been running the business since they… passed. but all that’s about to change. tonight, at midnight, i will become the sole owner.” she smiles somberly.
“well, that’s great,” luffy says, raising his drink at her. “because we want to buy a ship from you.”
“ah, i see. usopp mentioned that you’re sailors.”
“nope, not sailors. we’re pirates!”
you’re certain at least three people at the table choke on their food, yourself included.
“this ought to be good,” zoro mumbles behind his glass.
you’re too busy coughing into your napkin to chastise him for finding this entertaining.
“pirates?” kaya repeats, unsure of how to react.
“yup! we haven’t sailed together for very long but we’ve already defeated an evil clown, raided a marine base, and taken down a captain with an axe! for a hand!” luffy holds up a fist, presumably to impersonate axe-hand morgan.
“sounds a lot like your adventures, usopp,” kaya says, turning to the brunette.
all he can do is laugh dryly. “yeah, that’s… that’s crazy.”
“and we’re just getting started!” luffy continues, climbing up onto the table.
“someone put me out of my misery,” you mumble, looking down at your plate to ignore the secondhand embarrassment.
a tap on your shoulder answers your plea.
turning around, you find yourself face to face with kuro once again. “madam, a word please?”
“might i ask what for?” zoro cuts in before you can so much as think of a response.
kuro offers him the most forced grin you’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing. “i’m afraid that is between the lady and i.”
the swordsman turns to you, scanning your face for any ounce of discomfort. “you okay with that?”
you inhale, figuring it was finally time for you to confront the darkest part of your past. it was silly to assume you would be able to ignore him throughout your entire stay here. besides, you were sure zoro, just like the rest of your crew, would be on standby if kuro got brave enough to try anything. “sure. just… keep an eye out.”
zoro understands completely. truthfully, you didn’t even need to ask – he always looked after you. “got it.”
you push yourself out of your seat and smooth out your dress. you allow kuro to lead you to the doorway – he was smart enough to know that was the farthest you’d let him take you.
“what do you want, klahadore?” you seethe, folding your arms.
he arches a brow. “why must you call me that? it’s ridiculous.”
you tilt your head with faux innocence. “oh? is that not your name? must have misheard.”
he gives you an irritated look, dark eyes drilling into you.
“i remember that look,” you mutter, your memory serving you well. “it’s the same one you’d give me before you’d threaten to slice me to bits with your claws.”
kuro has the audacity to chuckle dryly. “but i never did, did i? although there were certainly times times where i should’ve.”
“what you should be is dead,” you hiss bitterly. “when i heard the news, i knew it was too good to be true.”
“you wound me, kitten,” he drawls, reaching up to fix his glasses.
the condescending nickname makes your skin crawl. it carried so many awful memories of your time spent with the black cat pirates. it reminded you of just how weak kuro viewed you — nothing but a helpless, pitiful kitten in his eyes. typical of the man that abused his authority and treated you with not a single ounce of respect.
he continues, putting on a sweet tone. “after all these years, stuck waiting hand and foot on that spoiled brat, there’s nothing i’d love more than to hear my favorite crew mate say my real name.”
you snap at him. “i’m no crew mate of yours.”
he sighs, dramatically. “sadly, you’re correct. after all, you did slip off the ship the moment we docked in shells town. locating you on an island crawling with marines proved to be nearly impossible. we had no choice but to leave without you.”
“that’s exactly why i chose to escape there.”
“and to this day i can’t for the life of me figure out why you would ever do that. why would you want to leave us? leave me?”
you actually laugh right in his face. “is it really that hard to figure out? you were evil. you threatened and harassed me on a daily basis.”
“so your solution was to join that ragtag crew?” he glances at the table. “it’s pathetic, even for you.”
you lean into his face, lowering your voice down. “i’m happier than i ever was on your shitty crew. every day i wake up grateful that i managed to escape you.”
you see that vein on his forehead bulge before he’s gripping you by the chin. “listen here, you little bitch–”
the shiny silver of a sword slides between you and kuro, coming to rest against his neck. his adam’s apple bobs as he gulps anxiously, releasing you. thanks to zoro’s sword, it seemed as if he finally remembered where he was. you were no longer on his ship, he was no longer allowed to treat you like the dirt he walked on. not without someone noticing, that is.
“why don’t you step away?” zoro offers simply.
that much was a kindness. usually those who found themselves on the end of zoro’s blade(s) weren’t lucky enough to receive a warning. however, the swordsman didn’t wish to cause a scene. at least not when you were right there and everyone was watching with shock from the dinner table.
kuro obliges, stumbling back. he meets kaya’s horrified eyes, feeling ashamed that he allowed his act to slip. surely this would cause some setbacks in his plan. with no excuse for his uncharacteristic behavior, the raven haired man scurries away and up the stairs.
zoro turns and locks eyes with luffy, giving him one singular nod. luffy returns it, jumping out of his seat and going after the butler. quiet murmuring breaks out at the dinner table, everyone surely confused.
sheathing his sword, zoro directs his attention to you once more. “are you alright?” a calloused hand comes up to grip your chin, much like kuro had. however, this time, the touch is gentle. loving, almost. you welcome it.
“yeah, i’m… fine.” your heart is beating out of your chest and it has everything to do with your close proximity to zoro.
he tilts your face around, inspecting every inch of it. once he finishes, he pulls back. his demeanor goes serious once more. “we need to have a talk.”
you nod. “i know. i’ve been keeping some things from you guys and–”
“just tell me what’s been going on,” he demands. “and don’t overcomplicate it. you can be straightforward with me.”
his sincerity makes you start over, this time far more candidly. “klahadore used to be a pirate. i was part of his crew. he was my… captain.”
the shame in your voice pulls at zoro’s heartstrings. didn’t you know there was no reason to feel guilty with him? “is that it?”
you open your mouth to speak but come up empty. all you can do is furrow your eyebrows at his unexpectedly dismissive reaction.
“i knew it,” zoro continues, annoyed. “i knew i’d seen him on a wanted poster before. just didn’t have any proof.”
“wait, so you don’t– you really don’t care?” you ask, still avoiding eye contact. “me being a former black cat pirate doesn’t bother you?”
he shrugs. “you said it yourself. ‘former.’ all that matters is that you got the hell out of there. and away from that creep. would he always put his hands on you like that?”
you blink a couple times, sighing. “his temper was really bad so–”
that seemed to be enough for zoro. “i’ll kill the bastard,” he hisses. “wanted to slice him to bits the moment i saw him grab you.”
though it’s a violent threat, you can’t help but smile. the idea of zoro being so protective that he’d kill a man just for touching you made you blush. pirate love language, you suppose.
“well, i wouldn’t have stopped you,” you tell him, more than ready to see your former captain go.
zoro clicks his tongue. “nah. could’ve stained your new dress with his blood. i never would have been able to forgive myself.”
“so you do have a soft spot,” you tease.
“only for pretty things.”
“do you mean me or the dress?”
now it’s zoro’s turn to become bashful. though, his lack of response is an answer in itself. you can’t help but giggle.
a loud bang from upstairs interrupts your moment with the green-haired man. you assume luffy had gotten his hands on kuro… or vice versa. zoro must be thinking the same thing judging by the way he instinctively rests a hand on the handle of his blade.
“you should go up there,” you tell him. “i’ll stay with kaya.”
he gives you a nod, though he doesn’t make any effort to leave. he stands there like he wants to say something… or do something. before you can think about it too much, you pull him in by the collar and crash your lips onto his. they’re slightly chapped and taste like the wine that’d come from the cellar – it’s pleasant. his large palms come to rest on your lower back; his hold feels tight and secure.
when you finally allow yourself to pull away, you’re biting back a smile. “kick his ass for me.”
“will i get more of that if i do?” asks zoro, wetting his lips. they now taste like the cherry lip gloss you’d borrowed from kaya. he takes a step forward, attempting to close the gap between you two once more.
you shrug, pushing him away by the chest. “go help luffy and we’ll see.”

______
Zoro is not overly affectionate, he’s not the type to whisper sweet nothings in your ears, but he shows his love in his own way. He stays up late, wakes up every now and then to keep watch while the entire crew is fast asleep, he uses his physical prowess to take care and protect those who are dear to him.
Despite the short time that you know Zoro, you know how to read his mind—perhaps feel what the swordsman is thinking, the small furrows in his brows, his sighs, his gruff, and the small curve of his lips—you learned how to read it, and a part of you enjoys seeing all of him, it’s something uniquely his that he shares with you despite his guarded nature, you can see the heart behind the stoic face of a man whose hands is used to violence, but is capable of wrapping you in its warmth and that’s what you love the most about him.
You sip on your coffee, smiling at the thought of how lucky you are to manage to captivate his heart, and how lucky you are that he lets himself be vulnerable with you. You feel the refreshing morning breeze as the Going Merry nears the next island.
Zoro headed to the deck, just woken up from his short 3 hours sleep. He stretched his neck, his hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his sword tight but the moment he saw you at the deck sipping your coffee, he loosened his grip on his sword walking slowly towards you.
When he stood behind you, he wrapped his arms on your waist, his chin on your shoulder kissing the side of your cheeks and you felt your face heat up as you lean on his chest. Sometimes it’s still baffling to be held in his arms like this.
Zoro buried his nose on your neck, inhaling your scent, it’s what he needed to calm and soothe his nerves. In the harsh dangerous seas, he knows he needs to keep his guard up at all times, but whenever he holds you close like this, he calms down, your vanilla scent is enough to tell him that with you he doesn’t have to be guarded.
“Coffee?” you asked, breaking the silence.
Zoro spins you around to face him and without any words he dips his head down to kiss you quickly on your lips before taking the cup of coffee in your hand.
You blinked completely dumbfounded with your cheeks heating up as you watched him sip on the cup of coffee nonchalantly.
Zoro handed the cup of coffee back to you, his eyes scanning your face, noticing your rosy cheeks. His lips instantly curled up into a smirk, he reached out to brush your reddened cheeks. “Still not used to it?” he asked.
You smacked his arms with your free hand, “I’ll kick your nuts, stop smirking.” you hissed and Zoro chuckled, taking your wrist to pin it on your side making you completely defenseless. He leans down keeping your faces close together.
“Feisty as ever.” he smirks.
You rolled your eyes smirking up at him, “Oh you want to play this game, Roronoa Zoro?” you asked leaning even closer, your noses touching against each other while you both have smirks playing on your lips.
Zoro lets go of your wrist, moving his hand to your waist to pull you close. “You sure you won’t be the one in a blushing mess later on?” he teased and you laughed, placing the cup of coffee on the barrel beside you so you would have a free hand.
You placed your hand on his shoulder brushing up against his biceps, and when you felt his breathing hitched at the contact, you let the tip of your fingers travel up to his nape, you raked your fingers in his nape, his eyes closed at the sensation and you smirked, you know you got him good.
Zoro was savouring the electrifying sensation too much, his head falling down on your shoulder enjoying the borderline ticklish sensation of your touch.
He looked peaceful right then and there but since you wanted to get him back, you immediately stopped what you were doing once you saw him getting too comfortable.
Zoro’s head shot up, brows furrowed when your delicate fingers stopped. “So that’s how you’re gonna play now, huh?” You laughed pushing him off you gently and ran off while Zoro was quick to go after you around the deck.
—
Chopper just woke up, he heard giggling up on the deck. He slowly sat up rubbing his eyes and yawning, as he stretched his limbs before climbing down the bed to head out on the deck to see what it was all about.
His hooves made tapping noises on the wooden deck, Chopper tilted his head at the scene he saw before him.
You were in Zoro’s arms giggling as he caught you from behind. He looks at Zoro’s face, it’s the first time he sees the swordsman without his usual stoic expression, rather he stares at you with a soft gaze, a small smile in his lips as he holds you in his arms.
Your laughter died down when you noticed a fury figure in your peripheral vision heading towards you and Zoro, when you turned your head to your left, there was Chopper looking up at you and Zoro with such marvel and amusement.
“Good morning…” he raised one of his hooves to wave up at you with a smile that could melt your heart instantly.
Chopper has been far isolated from humans for a while, his only human companions were not the most sociable mentors, he only comprehends the limited social contract he observed from Dr. Hiriluk and Doctorine and both are isolated in their own way, so Chopper hasn’t had the chance to observe such interaction that he sees from you and Zoro.
“Are you two playing?” he asked. “Like the knife thingy between the fingers game they taught me?” His tiny voice was full of questions and wonder.
You almost laughed at the question but you gently untangle Zoro’s arms off you to crouch down at Chopper’s level. “Well, not exactly. You see, Chopper. That’s what we do to express our care and affection to someone, by keeping each other close….” you did your best to explain, you couldn’t find the right words to define what you have with Zoro actually and even so…you were afraid to put a name to it.
Zoro smirks at the way you pause to try the best words to explain, you’ve always been the one smooth with your words, the one who can easily know what to say in every situation, but this was a new side to you, the slight stutters, the way you chew your lip to try and find your words. It’s all endearing to look and marvel at.
“You know how you hold and hug the scarf she knitted for you? That’s how it is. You keep it close to protect it—to care for it—to love it.”
Zoro’s gaze was on you when he was explaining to Chopper, your eyes locked onto each other. His dark eyes darkened, his pupils dilated as he kept his gaze on your entirety, every word, he said without breaking eye contact.
It felt intense, almost burning, you had to look away first, feeling like wax left under the blazing heat of the sun. You turn to Chopper trying to see if he can understand you or Zoro’s analogy if you can even call it that.
Chopper hums, nodding his little head as he looks up at Zoro his eyes lit up in realization, “Like how I kept Dr. Hiriluk’s flag…” he whispers clutching his hooves to his chest, feeling a sharp sting on his chest.
Just then, he remembers a memory, how Dr. Hiriluk held him close, with so much warmth, with so much care. He stretched his hooves out reaching out to you despite his limits.
“I can’t wrap this around you though.” he observed.
You laughed at the innocence in his voice and scooted closer, opening your arms widely to hug him. “You don’t need to. Reaching out is enough, Chopper.” you whispered carrying him up to your arms.
Chopper pulled away from you gently and looked up at Zoro whose hand rested on your waist, “Zoro…” he whispered shyly, reaching his hooves out and Zoro scooped him up from your arms, settling him down on his shoulder.
Zoro pointed ahead where the next island is getting clearer as the Going Merry gets closer. “See, this island used to be far ahead, but now it’s closer, and closer until you can reach it.” he remarked.
“You can stay in the deck and just stare or find the courage to leap once we docked and find something worth keeping close for.”
Zoro glanced at you as he said it—you were his leap of fate, the island he deemed he wouldn’t dare explore to avoid the dangers of its unknown territory, but the night he held you in his arms, he sees the wonder, the light in your eyes, the beauty and joy you bring and it was all worth it.

Part 2 Here
_______
After defeating Wapol, Luffy and the crew successfully recruited Chopper as the crew Doctor.
As the Going Merry sails away from Drum Island, Chopper watches his home from the distance, still hugging the backpack that Doctorine packed for him, his tiny hooves clutched the backpack as he tearfully looks at the island slowly fading away.
You see his distress and stood beside him, before you could even speak to him, the dark clouds engulfing the Drum Island turns to pink, and snow starts to fall—only then the cold and pale white snowflakes weren't white, they're pink, falling down gracefully like petals of cherry blossoms.
You gasped at the realization, the stories of Dr. Hiruluk’s dream of curing the ailing hearts of his fellow citizens, his life work and mission to heal their country from the rot that Wapol had caused.
When you first arrived at Drum Island, the snow was biting cold—harsh even, but the pink snowflakes falling down on your skin wasn't stealing the warmth through your bones, instead it seeped through your skin with warmth travelling straight into your heart.
Dr. Hiriluk was right all along.
Chopper wails as he tries to catch the falling snow, remembering the man who took him in, the man whom he sees as his mentor and his father, the man who taught him to heal not just the physical ailments of a patient but their broken hearts too.
He cried clutching his bag, if only he was smart enough to look for the right cure, if he knew better in medicine perhaps…Dr. Hiriluk would see the fall of these pink snowflakes, perhaps his heart would've healed too.
You looked down at the tiny reindeer beside you, you didn't want to overstep, as far as what Doctorine said, Chopper is still mourning for Dr. Hiriluk in his own ways.
Chopper wept like a child, and the ship was filled with silence, calculating how to approach the situation.
In situations like this, Luffy is expected to step in and say the dumbest thing that comes to mind, unintentionally but it works well in diffusing tensions.
However, Chopper's grief is not something you can diffuse, this kid hasn't had any proper closure with the memory of the man whom he sees as his own father. And Chopper's tears are just proof of the legacy that Dr. Hiriluk left behind. He may have been gone but he's alive, his dream lives on through Chopper who became a Doctor like him.
Zoro watched your hesitation as you stood beside the weeping Chopper. He has heard of the poor reindeer’s stories, about Dr. Hiriluk and all that but Zoro took his time to watch you beside Chopper. He knew that look so well. The look you'd always have when you contemplate whether you should step in or not.
You've always been the kind of person who would walk into the path that others would avoid.
So, seeing you hesitate to comfort Chopper is actually a new thing for Zoro. He has only met you when you joined the crew but those times were enough for him to take note of your personality.
When you found out about Laboon's story, you shed a tear for the being, despite being swallowed by the creature along with the ship.
He steps forward standing on Chopper's other side, the little reindeer still cries as the ship slowly sails and the snow starts to fade.
Zoro looks down at the crying Chopper and puts him up gently placing him on his broad shoulder.Chopper made some cute gasping noises but held onto the side of Zoro’s neck.
You watched the interaction with a smile especially when Zoro stood closer to you, you placed a hand on Chopper's back gently brushing his fur.
“Welcome aboard, Chopper.” You whispered gently and Chopper looked at you with big doe eyes glistening.
“Thank you.” He whispered in his tiny voice and you smiled tiptoeing to pat his head through his gigantic hat.
The silence made you realize that the other crews have already gone in and left the three of you sightseeing as the Going Merry sails through the smooth sailing sea.
____
You headed to guide Chopper to the space he'll stay in, you managed to set up a tiny bed for the little reindeer.
Chopper's big eyes wandered around the room, “It's big.” He whispers his eyes full of innocence and wonder. His eyes were practically sparkling, he could finally claim something of his own.
You tucked him to bed with a smile. “Goodnight, Chopper.” You whispered gently. Covering him with a fluffy blanket.
You brushed your delicate fingers in Chopper's fur and he smiled up at you. Your touch brings warmth in his heart, the kind that reminds him of Dr. Hiriluk and a touch that reminds him how he has never experienced such care from his own family and own kind.
“Thank you, Miss YN.” he whispers, yawning and sleepy. His tired body gave in to exhaustion and drifted off to sleep.
_______
You couldn't sleep after tucking Chopper to bed so you went to the kitchen to have some tea and took a couple of balls of yarn that you had lying around your room.
You're planning on knitting a scarf for Chopper, you were originally planning to give him a knitted sweater but you realize it could get in the way when he transforms, he can easily use a scarf no matter what his size is.
Zoro walked into the kitchen when he saw the lights on, he sat beside you drinking the tea in front of you, his face unreadable.
You look up at him to complain about him drinking your tea but you decided to focus on what you were doing instead.
“Playing mom now huh?”
“Shut it, Zoro..” you blushed.
Zoro chuckled and looked at the beginning of the scarf that you're crafting, “Seems nice.” He told you. “He'll surely appreciate it.” he said sipping on your tea once more but you realize he's just working you up so you let him be.
_____
Days with Chopper as an additional family member are surely good. The crew stopped by another island to pick up medicine supplies that Chopper would need for his infirmary.
Since YN is sociable and charming she's usually assigned to assist with shopping. She draws attention but not in a suspicious way, the kind that makes store owners lower the price because she smiles prettily.
She held Chopper's hand tightly as they made their way into the crowded shops. On her other hand was a bunch of supplies they needed.
On the other side walks alongside the two is Zoro with a bored look on his face.
YN pulled Chopper to the side where there's not much crowd, she crouched down on his level brushing his fur.
“Stay with Zoro for me will you? Stay put okay he has a terrible sense of direction. I just have to pick up one last thing on your list and we're good to go.”
When you left the two on their own, Chopper looked up at Zoro blinking. The green haired man looks down at him “To clear things up, I'm the one babysitting you.” he tells him and Chopper blinks, nodding quietly.
As time passes by Chopper grows impatient too, he's starting to walk in circles and Zoro is just as impatient he clicks his tongue and starts walking off looking at Chopper “Heh. If I stay put for another minute I'm growing roots.” He grumbled.
“But Miss YN said—”
“Hush up, fur boy.”
Zoro stops by in front of a stall while Chopper follows closely behind. They're selling sweets, so he bought some and handed it to Chopper. The latter happily took it from his hands munching on the sweets, he followed Zoro closely behind who’s looking at the other stalls that they pass by, he struggles to keep up with his pacing given how tiny he is.
Zoro looks behind him, seeing Chopper still eating the sweets as he tries to keep up. Zoro stopped in his tracks and without a word, he picked up Chopper and placed him on his shoulder.
You were carrying a bunch of supplies walking along The Sun Island, you spotted Sanji buying food supplies with Luffy and you just waved at them, you needed to hurry up and meet up with Zoro and Chopper once again given how impatient Zoro can be.
When you went to the last place where you left them you held your breath, Zoro and Chopper weren’t there and you cussed, Zoro is the worst when it comes to directions, worst case scenario he could easily lose sight of poor Chopper.
You look around frantically and see a commotion nearby, they seem to be watching some parade of the locals, with people wearing vibrant yellow costumes with sun illustrations.
It was a mesmerizing parade, complementing the island’s naturally orange sand. You made your way through the crowd still looking for any green haired muscular man or a sight of your new furry friend.
It was until you heard some giggles nearby, a giggle you knew instantly despite getting to know about it for just a little while. You know there’s no mistaking it, you turn around and see Chopper watching the parade clapping his hands while he sat on Zoro’s broad shoulder, the swordsman, as usual has a bored look on his face, his free hand holds onto his swords, always ready to unsheathe it if anything happens.
You made your way to where they were and smacked Zoro’s arms. “I told you to stay where you were!” you glared and Zoro looked down at you with the same bored look and took the shopping bags you were carrying.
“It’s the kid’s first island stop, let him soak it in.” he whispered looking up at Chopper, sitting on his shoulder completely mesmerized by the parade and didn’t even notice your arrival.
When the loud music and parade came to a halt, Chopper clapped happily, his eyes travelling down and gasping when he saw you looking up at him. He gasped, holding onto the side of Zoro’s head as if hiding, you laughed, realizing Chopper fails to understand he’s always hiding the wrong way, you tiptoed to pinch his cheeks.
“I-I’m sorry, Miss YN! Mr. Zoro said—”
You cut him off handing him a lollipop you bought from one of the merchants around the parade. “It’s fine, did you have fun?” you asked him with a smile as you watched him hold the lollipop close to his chest.
“Yeah, I did! They were dancing around! And—And it’s warm here and there’s a lot of colors and foods! It’s so different from Drum Island.” he exclaimed his voice full of glee and you felt that warmth seep through your heart just by watching him be cheerful.
Your gaze landed on Zoro who’s staring at you with an unreadable expression, you frown tilting your head up to look at him. “Why?” you asked.
Zoro looks away, still carrying the supplies you bought. “Let’s go.” he said in his raspy voice and you just quietly weirded out but you’ve always known Zoro has moments of spacing out so you disregarded it.
You walked side by side while Chopper talked about the parade they watched, you just listened to his stories, a smile plastered on your lips.
Zoro looks at you through his peripheral view, admiring the sparkle in your eyes, and the softness of your voice and gentleness of your gaze when you talk to Chopper.
He could still remember the first time you looked at him that way, after his fight with Mihawk, when he was unconscious, you stayed by his side until he woke up.
A small smile plastered on his lips as he remembers how your delicate fingers cupped his face to check him when he woke up, your frantic worried voice, he remembers it all vividly and he felt a warmth seep through his heart as he remembers you fondly.
The three of you walked up to the shore where the Going Merry awaits, Zoro carefully helped you up the ship, while you carried Chopper in your arms.
Your friends await at the ship, Luffy is waving with Vivi beside him, Nami is calling Sanji out to start dinner, Usopp is looking at the new supplies he bought for his new projects.
Every straw hat crew is an oddball of some sort, in many ways, but in the Going Merry, all of you belong and fit like a puzzle piece.
________
You helped Chopper in setting up the infirmary, helped him put labels on the medicines, and herbs.
While you were sorting out the supplies you bought for his infirmary, you watched him in the corner of your eye turning this very space as his own, you let him do what he wants and occasionally steps in if he needs assistance but you let him take the reins.
“Hehe! It's nicer now isn't it Miss YN?!” he exclaimed, skipping around the infirmary obviously proud of his work.
You smiled, looking around at the room he turned into his own. This space used to be cold and empty, but it seemed vibrant with Chopper hopping around and climbing up the chair to reach for the supplies he set up in his cabinet, he's meticulously checking if you put the proper labels as he taught you and he checked on the bed he set up for himself. His tiny hooves on his waist as he admires his work proudly.
The room is not repainted nor heavily remodeled, but the entire space seems to be brighter now and you realized it's because of the bubbly furry friend you've got in front of you.
Your eyes landed on the stethoscope on the table, you carefully picked it up and made your way to the delighted Chopper still busy admiring his “remodelling job”.
Chopper looked up and blinked when you put the stethoscope on him, gently pinching his cheeks—a habit he realizes you seem to like ever since you've met him in Drum Island.
He looks up at you with his big innocent eyes glistening, he's never seen such tender care in one's eyes other than the mentors he had grown to treat as his very own father and mother figure.
Your touch has always been delicate and gentle, almost as if your touch were as light as feathers.
Chopper started tearing up and you looked at him worriedly, “Hey, hey,” you called out softly cupping his small face in your hands. “What's wrong? Do you miss Doctorine? What's the matter?” You asked your voice as gentle as the soft blanket that envelops Chopper with warmth every night.
“N-no, Sorry..”he mumbles looking up at you as your thumb wipes his tears away.
“Thank you, Miss YN. For everything…” he whispers sniffling and you smile brushing his soft fur.
“There's nothing to thank me for, Chopper. And like I've said, just call me YN.” You reminded him softly.
You watch his doe eyes dilated with wonder and glee, he nods at you whispering your name cutely and giggling.
You remembered the scarf you knitted for him and reached out for your bag, you gently took the scarf you knitted and wrapped it around his tiny body.
“I was originally planning on knitting a sweater given how unpredictable weathers are in our route but I realize you have different forms and it might restrict your movement.” You told him to fix the scarf properly just enough for his mouth to be out.
Chopper hugs the scarf around his neck, he could feel the warmth he's been seeking for after years of cold winter, despite his thick fur coat, his existence has a cold void that's been wanting to be filled and you've been igniting the fire to bring warmth in his cold days.
“Thank you!” He exclaimed teary eyed.
You smiled giggling at his cute expressions, “Always welcome, Chopper.” You whispered and patted his head.
For a while you helped him organize his infirmary and helped him tidy things up.
Once he's well satisfied with the work done, you let him take a breather by admiring his work.
You indulged him for a bit before helping Chopper up in his bed, he seems tired and for someone who spent most his life in a restricted place, he needs some adjustments to get used to the constant motion of the ship.
“Goodnight Chopper.”
Chopper smiled up at you hugging the scarf you knitted for him close to his heart as his eyes closed while he drifted off to sleep.
_____
The next day while the entire crew are still asleep you went out to admire the sunrise on the deck. You stood at the figurehead and Zoro came from the other side of the deck, he stood beside you.
“I heard the Doctor loved his place.”
You smiled sipping your coffee looking at the green haired male and giving him your cup, knowing he probably needed one.
“How long did you sleep?” you asked, watching him take a sip on your cup.
Zoro let the strong taste of brewed coffee roll in his tongue before he answered, “Around 3 hours, I wake up every now and then to make sure no more assassins would get through.” He whispered his grip in his sword tightening.
He handed your coffee back, his eyes lingering at the way you look in the morning, your hair tied up with loose strands framing your face, the sunlight reflecting on your eyes.
“You could've taken turns with the other guys or with us too.” You mumble. You've always known how Zoro takes his role seriously as the sole protector but he does spread himself thin every now and then.
Before Zoro could even protest that he doesn't need such arrangements he heard tappings on the deck he looked down from where they stood beside the figurehead and he saw the hat and antlers peeking out.
“Oho! Sunrise!” Chopper exclaimed seeing the sky lit up.
You and Zoro made your way down seeing Chopper trying to climb to a higher place to see the sunrise, his tiny hooves desperately clinging onto the surface, before you could even take a step forward, Zoro made his way to the small boy and carried him up his shoulder.
“WAAAHH! So pretty! You see this every morning?! I love being a pirate doctor!” He exclaimed hooves up in the air enjoying the morning breeze that rolls with the gentle waves that carries the Going Merry.
Chopper looked at the serious looking Zoro snd blink, “Thank you, Zoro!” He said, clinging onto the side of Zoro's neck, holding on tight.
You smiled at the way Chopper held onto Zoro, the latter just didn't mind and let him be. You made your way beside them and Chopper greeted you.
“Good morning, Miss YN! oh I mean YN…” he corrected himself and you giggled at his cute gasp.
“It's okay if you won't get used to calling me that. I don't mind.” you smiled, pinching his cheeks.
You hooked an arm on Zoro's free arm and leaned on his shoulder, admiring the radiant colors of sunrise.
Zoro looked down at you with a small smile painted on his lips as he let you be while he held Chopper.
Chopper is still in awe of the sunrise, his mouth gaped open and his eyes sparkling.
He observed the two people surrounding him today, when he thinks about family, the ones he originally knew outcasted him, the other two he came to know,—one was taken from him by fate, the other he had to leave to explore and reach his own dreams.
He felt accepted, loved and protected. Every time Zoro held him up, Chopper knew the big green haired man would never let him fall nor get hurt and with you standing next to him and Zoro, Chopper knows you have his back, that when the nights are cold he can hug the scarf you gave him, and when he gets scared at night he knows you'll drop by to tuck him in.
He smiled watching the rising sun shine on them, and at that moment, Chopper finally felt like he belonged, not pitied, but accepted as a whole.
_________
Chopper learned to settle down in the Going Merry; he spends his time studying in the infirmary, making sure that if anyone gets sick or injured his skills would be enough to tend to his crew mates.
He's humming happily wearing his stethoscope as he looks at the medicinal herbs he has. He's listing down the supplies making sure they have enough.
Meanwhile, you went down to call Chopper so he could have dinner. You didn't come in immediately and watch him through the glass window and smiled to yourself seeing how confident he seemed in his own space.
You knocked twice to announce your presence and Chopper looked over his shoulder meeting your gaze and smiling as he waved at you.
“YN!” he says happily climbing down his chair to open the door for you, he waves his tiny hooves at you and you waved back with a smile.
You looked at what he was doing before crouching down to his eye level, “Are you busy, Doctor? Sanji just finished cooking dinner, we need to hurry up before Luffy annihilates all of the food.” You said with feign seriousness, but Chopper has witnessed that Luffy is easily capable of such a feat and hopped into your arms.
“Nah uh, let's eat YN! We can't starve!” he said, holding onto your arms and leaning on your chest as you made your way to the kitchen carrying him all the way there.
Zoro awaits at the table, saving a spot for you and Chopper. When he meets your gaze across the room he simply glances at the empty spots beside him, implying his invitation.
You gently set Chopper down between you and Zoro looking at the other Straw Hats crew gobbling up the food that Sanji cooked.
Luffy is already done eating an entire plate on his own, he occasionally steals some from a clueless Ussop's plate.
The smell of perfectly grilled fish fills the room, Chopper looks down on his plate, eyes sparkling. “Sanji, it smells so good!” He sniffed his food, his blue nose almost diving first into the plate. Zoro shakes his head with a quiet chuckle at his childlike wonder and innocence.
After dinner, you walked Chopper back to the infirmary.
Chopper sat on his bed and invited you to sit down beside him and you did, looking down at him softly.
“You want bed time stories?” You asked with a smile.
It's been a habit of yours to talk about some random stories before Chopper gets to bed when he was new to the Going Merry. It helped him ease up his anxiety in the new place.
“Yeah, tell me about cool stuff.” He said lying down, you tucked him in brushing his fur.
“Well I'll tell you the cool stuff Zoro did at Cactus Island.”
Chopper's eyes widened in anticipation, his doe eyes sparkling. He hasn't seen Zoro in action but he knows he is cool whenever he watches the swordsman train with three swords.
You began your story talking about how you all ended up there, and how you all found out that the whole island is a hoax.
“So, apparently it was an island of assassins specifically from Baroque Works. Zoro fought 100 foes in the bar. He used his swords every turn and every kick he knocked someone down.”
Chopper gasped audibly, the sheer amount of shock and wonder written all over his cute face. “100…wow. Zoro is cool!” He exclaimed.
You kept going about the fights and Chopper as usual is the best reactor to a storyteller. It wasn't long till his eyelids get heavy and he gave in to the pull of sleep before you could even finish the story.
You stopped midway speech brushed his fur with your delicate hands and fixed his blanket before standing up to leave.
When you got out of Chopper's infirmary, you gasped seeing Zoro waiting outside the door. His eyes were closed as he leaned on the wall.
Your eyes widened, your mind thinking whether he heard you telling stories about him to Chopper. You bit your lip trying to physically stop the heat to travel to your cheeks.
Zoro opened his eyes, gaze meeting yours and he smirks teasingly.
“Didn't know you think I'm that cool.”
You cussed mentally but rolled your eyes at him exasperatingly. “Oh please, I had to exaggerate things up a bit so Chopper won't get bored.” You snickered walking past him and heading out to the deck feeling your cheeks heat up. Maybe once you're out in the cold of the sea breeze out there you won't get so worked up.
Zoro follows closely behind, still mumbling about how you painted him as a hero with a smug look on his face. He smirked as he cornered you in the figurehead of the Going Merry he grip the hilt of his swords out of habit, his muscular built loom over your smaller figure.
Zoro looked down at you, let go of his sword finally and reached his hand out to brush his calloused thumb gently on your cheeks.
“Seems like Chopper ain't the only one who loves my adventures.” He smirks.
You almost froze at the bold move and attempted to slap his hand away and Zoro caught it smoothly holding your wrist down to your side.
Zoro studied your face, the heavy breathing, the lip biting, and those rosy cheeks. He's the kind of man who may get lost even in a straight direction but he's not naive to such reactions.
He held your wrist gently yet firmly to your side and stepped closer till he could practically share the same breath with you.
Your brain is malfunctioning, this is not his usual teasing to gas himself up, this is something else he's never done this to Nami, and you bit your lip trying to scheme how to get out of this situation but you're nailed at where you stood with your heart beating erratically you're afraid he could hear it from this distance.
“It's crazy, I don't know which is louder; my heart or yours.” He whispers huskily.
You met his gaze looking up and noticed the subtle deep breaths he takes to regulate his own breathing and you gulped.
“You know, the sea is vast, the waves are harsh, and the path ahead is thorny. And we don't know what tomorrow will bring, what kind of monsters we'll see, or what kind of trouble we'll get into.” Zoro trails off letting go of your wrist brushing a strand of your hair and tucking it behind your ear.
“Shit.” He whispers, “I forgot what I was supposed to say next.” He groaned.
Zoro utters a few string of curses before he looks back up again, “Fuck it—look, why don't we try…” he let out a defeated sigh, letting his head drop on your shoulder his forehead pressed on the side of your neck breathing in your vanilla scent that gets tangled up with the smell of the sea.
You felt your knees weakening at that point, your hand holding onto his biceps for support and you felt Zoro chuckled against your skin.
“I'm not good at all of these. But goddammit, can we stop pretending we don't feel anything?”
He gently pulled away to look at your expressions still letting you hold onto him for support.
You avoided his gaze. You knew what he was talking about, all those late night talks, the shared cup of coffee or tea, the frantic look to search for one another whenever trouble is up ahead.
It's been months, you have no idea when it even started. But you and Zoro have created a bond you believe won't be classified as plain crew mates aboard a ship.
“But what if—”
Zoro cupped your face, cutting your hesitations off. “We can deal with all that may happen when we get there. But tonight…can't it just be about what we feel here and now?” He nipped your chin between his fingers.
You let out a soft chuckle, “So eager aren't we?” You finally found your footing, tilting your head to start firing back at him and Zoro's gaze landed on the smirk playing on your lips.
“With those lips looking like that of course I would—so…”
He gulped his eyes silently asking for one last sign of agreement or disagreement if there's any before he could lean down.
However, Zoro didn't expect you'll grip the hem of his shirt to pull him down to meet him halfway.
When his lips crash against yours his hand finds its way on your waist pulling you closer, his free hand cupping the back of your nape gently brushing as he releases months of his pent up longing to hold you close.
He only pulled away to let you both catch your breath, he's smirking as he looks down at you biting his own lip.
“Well I'll be damned. You have me wrapped around your delicate fingers, woman.”
You laughed, biting your lip hitting his broad chest. “Since when did you become a suave talker?” You raised your brows.
Zoro shrugged, pulling you closer. “Well, that's just the way I am.” He smirked, leaning down for another quick kiss.
It had you giggling in his arms as you wrapped your arms around his torso, he pulled you closer instinctively as the cold breeze of the sea engulfs you both.
Zoro admires your face from upclose, his calloused thumb brushing on your cheek, his eyes tracing every facial feature, and he couldn't help but lean down once more for another kiss.
You melt into his touch, his touch igniting a fire within you enough to battle the cold sea wind as you hold onto him.
You both made a paradise for yourselves at that moment just the two of you wrapped in each other's arms in the middle of the cold windy night but the two of you pulled away from the kiss upon hearing a soft cry nearby.
“YN?! Zoro?!”
Chopper's hooves tap around the deck as he sobs, he actively tries to wipe his own tears but his sight gets blurry even more from tears.
“I had a bad dream, where are you?” He cries calling out and searching, the scarf you knitted for him wrapped around his neck to keep him warm.
You gently pushed Zoro off of you and headed down to meet Chopper, when he spotted you, the boy wailed like a lost child jumping into your arms as he cried. You carried him in your arms cradling him close to your chest sharing your warmth to him
“It's scary, I couldn't find you both. The abominable snowman was there, it was gonna take me.” Chopper sniffles holding onto you.
Zoro appeared behind you patting Chopper’s back. “Seems like you don't know me, kid. No abominable snowman would be strong enough to defeat me. So, your bad dream will always be just a bad dream.” He whispers, his voice husky his hands on your waist, watching Chopper bury his face on your neck.
Chopper calmed down from your comfort and looked up at Zoro, “Are you gonna defeat it like you fought 100 foes?” He sniffled.
Zoro smirks. “Damn right I would.” He answered smugly, “So, keep your head up, kid. As long as I stand—we stand no one's gonna get to you. Right YN?” he turned to you and you nodded with a smile looking down at Chopper in your arms.
“No worries about the abominable snowman, Chopper. You'll be fine.” You whispered gently, wiping his tears away.
When Chopper calmed down from his bad dream, you and Zoro made your way to the infirmary to tuck him in.
Zoro crossed his arms over his chest, watching you sit on the edge of the bed, covering Chopper up with his warm blanket brushing his fur gently, “Sleep tight kid, we're here to keep watch.” Zoro whispers assuringly.
“You're so cool, Zoro.” Chopper whispers sleepily, the adrenaline from his fear in his bad dream starts to wear off and he looks up at you.
“You're cool too, YN…” he yawns, his eyelids getting heavy as you keep on brushing his fur, he whispers slurry goodnights before drifting off to sleep.
You kissed Chopper’s forehead gently, standing up carefully to not make any sounds. You looked behind and saw Zoro with a small smile on his lips.
Zoro pulled you close to him kissing your forehead as you both watched Chopper's breathing even out. You hold onto Zoro's big arms around your waist as he hugs you from behind.
Inside that tiny little room, there's no room for the abominable snowman to exist, Chopper is watched over and guarded by two people who are willing to protect and help him face the rough waves and paths ahead with his childlike wonder and innocence.
Summary: When Zoro fails to come home before a major storm hits, you and Sanji set out to rescue him. But as the cold sets in, you might end up the one who needs help. Luckily, Sanji and Zoro know exactly how to warm you up.

“Stop worrying, he’ll be alright.” Sanji’s voice is gentle, as is his hand on your shoulder as he tries to lead you back inside. His thumb brushes against your lip, which you realize with a start you’ve been chewing on. “The idiot’s strong, he can handle a little snow.”
“It’s more than a little,” you mutter, brushing off his hand and pressing yourself against the railing of the Sunny. Nami had warned everyone they needed to be back to the ship before sunset to avoid a huge storm front rolling in, and everyone had listened attentively. Except, of course, for your swordsman, who is nowhere to be found. “What if he’s lost?”
“He’s definitely lost,” murmurs Usopp, voice muffled behind his scarf. “But he’s been lost in worse situations before, he’ll be fine.”
“See, angel? He can handle himself. We need to get you inside before you freeze. You’re already shivering.” Sanji’s eyes and voice are so soft, so convincing, and his hands are so warm, but you can’t help but imagine Zoro freezing to death in a ditch somewhere. He can handle any enemy, you’re sure, but no man can fight the elements. Especially not shirtless with nothing but his swords and a flask of sake.
“I’m gonna go after him.”
“You’re what?” Usopp sounds nauseous at the idea.
“You are not,” Sanji insists, voice more authoritative than he’s ever used with you. “It’s dangerous out there, and you’re not superhuman like him. You have terrible circulation, you’re halfway frostbitten just standing here. You’ll freeze in that storm!”
“So will he! He’s not invincible, no matter how hard he tries to convince everyone he is. I’m gonna find him, and either we’ll come back to the ship or take shelter in the village. But he’ll never find his way back on his own, he’ll probably walk into the ocean by accident or something.” You pry your freezing cold fingers from the railing, shoving them into your pockets and taking purposeful steps toward the plank. You know you should pack supplies, or get a better coat at the very least, but if the crew unites to stop you there’s no way you’ll make it off of the ship. Nami will tie you down before she lets you risk yourself like that. Your best bet is rushing off before anyone can stop you. Sanji and Usopp won’t hold you back, no matter how worried they are.
You’re surprised to feel Sanji’s hands on you again, fingers tightening firmly against your arm. “Absolutely not. It’s not safe.”
“You take risks for this crew every day, you can’t stop me from taking my own.”
“I–” He huffs, clearly frustrated. “I’m not going to stop you. I’m coming with you.”
“What?” You and Usopp chorus, your voice hopeful, his horrified.
“Just give me a second to grab you a thicker coat and some gloves, at the very least. I’m not sending you out into a storm underdressed and alone.” He chews on his cheek, turning something over in his head, light behind his eyes dimmed, and you almost feel guilty dragging him off with you. The image of Zoro, buried beneath the snow, only one single callused hand reaching out of the bank into the sky quickly alleviates the feeling.
“We need to hurry.”
“We will.”
And he does. He may not have any sense of urgency for Zoro, but he seems to know if he takes a second too long you’ll dash off into the distance alone. He returns with a scarf and gloves for you, as well as a puffy coat in your size that you’ve never seen before in your life. He wraps you up so tightly you can hardly feel your arms, but you can’t bring yourself to scold him once you notice the slight tremor in his hands. He’s so worried for you, so afraid of what could happen, but he’s coming with you anyway. He can fuss as much as he wants if it helps him. “Thank you.”
“Of course, angel.” His eyes aren’t on you when he speaks, which is a rarity for him. They’ve fixed on the clouds rolling in on the horizon, engulfing the mountain you’re heading toward. There’s a slight wrinkle in his forehead, one you fight the urge to reach out and smooth.
“We should probably get going, huh? The longer we wait the worse our chances of finding him are.” You offer him your hand, which he takes gratefully, squeezing you once. You don’t know if it’s to comfort you or himself.
“Yeah, we should.” He sets a quicker pace than usual, one you hate to admit you struggle to keep up with. He’s normally wonderfully attentive when you’re together, always hyperaware of every thought and feeling you have, but now he’s on a mission. You suspect he’s more worried about Zoro than he’ll admit, and adding on his self-imposed duty to protect you, you imagine he’s probably pretty overwhelmed.
You start in the village at the base of the mountain, asking the few villagers brave enough to venture out if they’ve seen a large man with green hair.
“Nope, haven’t seen anyone like that. Hey, you two are foreigners, right? You should get inside before you lose your chance.”
“No, I haven’t. Are you sure you should be out right now?”
“Haven’t seen anyone like that. Do you two need somewhere to stay? The inn might be full, but I have an extra room. You shouldn’t stay out in this.”
You feel yourself losing hope with every rejection, but a petite old woman somehow says exactly what you needed to hear.
“That swordsman? Yeah, I saw him this morning climbing up the mountain. Told him it was stupid with the storm rolling in, and he told me to mind my business. What a rude little thing. He’s probably freezing to death up there.”
“He went up the damn mountain?” Sanji is usually loath to raise his voice in front of a woman, but he looks about ready to wring Zoro’s neck. “Why the hell would he do that?”
“Said something about training? I don’t know, probably up there sitting under waterfalls or cutting trees in half, or something else foolish. If he hasn’t come down yet, he probably won’t. It’s hard enough to get up there in fair weather, it’s nearly impossible in a storm. You two should stop looking and take shelter.”
“Thanks for the advice, ma’am, but we’re not going to abandon our friend for being stupid. If we did that, we’d hardly have any left.” You grip Sanji’s hand tighter, and he accepts it without complaint. “Is there anywhere up the mountain he might have taken shelter if he came to his senses?”
“If? Not when? God, kids these days. He’d probably take the main path up, it leads to a nice clearing with plenty of room to run around, and it’s pretty close to the waterfall. There’s a cave behind it he could have ended up in, plus a few cliffs that could block the worst of the snowfall. But I really can’t endorse you going up there to get yourselves killed.”
“We appreciate the concern, ma’am, but we’re tougher than we look, I promise.” Sanji gives a brilliant smile, the same one he gives every woman, but you know him well enough to see the strain at the edges. “We’ll make sure to get him as soon as we can, and take shelter as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your help.”
“Hm. Well, it’s no problem. You two stay safe, alright? It wouldn’t be right if you got yourselves hurt trying to help your friend. He made his own choices.” She gives you both a look of pity before moving on, marching her way home before the snow comes down so quickly she can’t see in front of her.
“I’m gonna kill that mosshead when we find him.”
You want to scold him, but this really is stupidity beyond the pale. “I won’t stop you.”
“That means a lot, dearest.” He lifts your hand to rub it against his cheek, and you ignore the rapid beating of your heart to focus on your mission. Zoro is in trouble. For once, you can save him, instead of him saving everyone else at the cost of himself.
The trek up the mountain is…unpleasant, to say the least. The snow is coming down harder with every passing second, and it wasn’t exactly a smooth walk up in the first place. You nearly twist your ankle a dozen times before Sanji finally gives up.
“I’m carrying you.” His arm is around your waist before you can protest.
“What? No!”
“I’m sorry, angel, but you’re going to hurt yourself, and it’ll be faster this way. And the faster we get to Zoro, the faster we’re out of this.” For maybe the first time in his life, Sanji ignores your request and pulls you into his arms. You’re pressed against his toned chest, your face pressed directly against the buttons of his shirt, shielded against the wind. You squeak in surprise, but you can’t bring yourself to be angry with the pace he’s pushing himself to. He clearly wants to find Zoro just as quickly as you do, even if you suspect your reasons are slightly different.
“God, why couldn’t he have left a trail of footprints or something? If he was going to get lost on a snowy mountain, the least he could do is make it easy for us.” You can feel his grumble in his chest.
“I’m sure if we tell him next time he’ll stomp as he walks up.”
“He damn well better. Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” you answer immediately, before even beginning to assess your condition.
“Try that again.”
You take a second, reconnecting with your body and doing a full scan top to bottom. You’re shivering violently, your teeth chattering in a way you thought only happened in cartoons. “I’ve…been better. But I’ll be okay, we can keep going.”
Sanji lets out a dissatisfied hum but doesn’t press the issue any further, which is the best you could hope for. “I’m going to make him pay for making you suffer like this.”
“Is being stranded in a horrible snow storm not enough?”
“No.” His answer is nearly instant, and you can’t help but laugh. How very…Sanji of him.
“I hope he’s okay,” you whisper.
“...I’m sure he will be.”
You notice he doesn’t use the present tense, but you’re too focused on trying not to shiver to push him.
You don’t know how much time passes. It could be minutes, hours, god, it could even be days. The cold seems eternal, the snow neverending. You can’t see more than a foot in front of you, if that. Sanji’s footsteps are confident, assured, but you don’t know how he could possibly know what’s in front of you.
“I think we’re close.”
You pull your head away from his chest to look at his face. His cheeks and nose are red and chapped, the cold clearly doing a number on him, but he’s doing better than you, at least. “How do you know?”
“I just do. Just hold on for a little longer, okay?” He tightens his grip on you, shoes digging further into the snow with determination. You have no idea what he sees or feels, but you trust him implicitly. Zoro must be close.
The ground changes from snow to stone, and you stop being pelted with snowflakes. You can hear water nearby. You can’t bring yourself to lift your head from Sanji’s chest, eyelids heavy and body cold. “Are we in a cave?”
“Yeah, we are, and the idiot is definitely here. I can smell him.” There’s a slight shaky chuckle in his voice, and you know the joke was definitely for your sake more than his. You can’t bring yourself to laugh, but you hope he feels the impression of your smile against his chest.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Hearing the voice of Roronoa Zoro sounds like coming home. You hear shuffling, and suddenly there’s a third hand against your back. “And what the hell did you bring her here for? She shouldn’t be out in this storm.”
You can feel every muscle in Sanji’s body tense. “Yeah, dumbass, I fucking know! But she was so worried she couldn’t stand it, and I couldn’t convince her to stay on the ship! Be grateful she cares enough about you to get like this in the first place!”
Zoro makes a choked noise in his throat, one you pretend not to notice, simply curling in further to Sanji’s intoxicating warmth. “She…she insisted on coming out here?”
“Yeah, asshole, so be grateful. And get a fire going or something, she’s freezing.”
“I tried,” Zoro snaps, “But the wood is all wet from the damn snow.”
You can feel Sanji walk a few more feet before you’re both on the ground, you cradled carefully in his lap. “Well we need to figure something out. We can’t leave her like this for the whole storm.”
“Aren’t you cold?” It comes out as little more than a whisper, but you know they both heard you.
Sanji makes a noise resembling a whimper. “We’re alright, angel, don’t you worry about us. We found Zoro, we did exactly what you wanted. So rest now, okay? We’ve got it.”
“What the cook said. We’re okay, don’t worry.” Gentleness doesn’t come naturally to a seasoned fighter like Zoro, and you can feel him fighting his every instinct as he speaks, but by god does he manage. A large hand presses against your head, a normally stern voice soft in your ear. “You don’t need to worry about us. It’ll take more than a little cold to take us down.”
“I think this is more than a little.” You press into the warm hand against your head, and your arms wrap around Sanji without you thinking about it.
“You might be right about that, but still,” Sanji insists, “We’ll be alright. Just focus on staying awake and keeping warm, okay?”
“I’m okay, I’m not all that cold,” you murmur, “I can hardly feel it.”
“That’s worse,” Zoro says bluntly. Judging from the noise of pain he makes, Sanji kicked him for the comment. “It is worse!”
“It’ll be okay, princess. We’ve got you.” Sanji sighs quietly, a noise of resignation, before you hear something you never thought you would. “Get over here, mosshead. We need your warmth.”
“What?”
“She’s freezing, she needs more heat, you've got some. Get over here before I come to my senses.” He’s speaking through gritted teeth, clearly not thrilled at the prospect. Something hard and warm presses against your back, and before you know it, Zoro’s chin is resting on your shoulder, his chest against your shoulderblades.
“Only for her,” he mutters softly.
“Yeah,” Sanji snaps, pulling you impossibly closer. You can’t help but sigh at the warmth surrounding you, the comforting hardness of the two men you care about most in the world. You feel them both relax at the sound of your pleasure, and you can’t help but shift to get more comfortable.
You never thought you would hear Zoro make a noise so…pathetic.
“Stop that,” he snaps quietly, beginning to shift away from you. You can’t help the absolutely pathetic whine that escapes you, and he stops in his tracks.
“Let her do what she wants,” Sanji insists, his voice similarly tight.
“Is this what you wanted the whole time, you pervert? I’m not gonna let this happen while she’s vulnerable.”
“You idiot, we need to stay strong for her. She’s trying to get comfortable. Our feelings don’t matter. Overcome your body. Isn’t that part of your training?”
“A woman grinding on me isn’t training, moron!”
Oh.
In your haze, you kept pushing deeper and deeper into them, and only just now have you realized the consequences of this. With Sanji against your front and Zoro against your back, you’ve been shoving your chest further into Sanji’s, and your ass against Zoro’s crotch. There’s two hard objects pressing against you right now, and you have a feeling you know what they both are. “Oh, my god, I’m so sorry, I’m just so cold–”
“Don’t worry about us, angel. You just focus on staying warm.” Sanji’s voice is so gentle, so kind, but there’s a shake beneath it, a heat you recognize.
“Y–yeah, don’t worry about us.” Zoro, not one to be outdone, pulls you closer against him, pressing your wet shirt further against you. There’s a heat seeping through, of course, but you can’t help but whine at the discomfort. The snow that was pelting you before has melted into the fabric, trapping the cold against your skin. You shift again, trying to alleviate the feeling, but there’s nothing to be done. As long as you’re wearing this coat and these pants, the horrible tight stickiness and persistent cold won’t leave.
But obviously, you can’t strip in front of your crewmates. You don’t even have anything to change into.
You sit for a few minutes in tense silence before Sanji speaks up. “Are you warming up at all?”
You want to lie, to deny the reality you’ve realized, but you can’t quite bring yourself to die for your pride. “I–I don’t think so. My clothes are wet, so–”
“Oh my god, I can’t believe I didn’t realize,” Sanji mutters, full of apology.
Zoro, his bluntness welcome in this moment, says exactly what you were hoping to hear. “Oh my god, take them off, idiot!”
“You can’t say that to a lady, idiot!” You don’t know if you’ve ever heard Sanji so angry. “You can have my suit jacket, angel–”
“Your suit is also soaked, idiot cook! It will just make it worse. Do you want her to freeze for propriety?”
“I’m surprised you even know that word, you brute! God forbid I value her privacy–”
“She can have as much privacy as she wants six feet under, but I bet she would prefer to live! Isn’t skin to skin better for retaining warmth anyway?”
Sanji goes quiet at that, and you lift your head to see the conflict in his eyes. Lust, decency, and his desire to protect you are battling, and you can’t tell who’s winning.
“Sanji?”
“Yes, dear?” His eyes just barely manage to focus on you.
“It’s okay. I trust you guys.”
You don’t know if you’ve ever seen a man hornier in your life. He looks like he’s won the lottery, even with the small doubts still lingering in his mind. Zoro clearly has his doubts as well, but you can see he’s far more focused on solutions to your problems than his own feelings on them.
“I’m gonna strip you now, is that okay?” Zoro hands are already reaching for the button on your jeans, and you just barely manage to nod. Zoro’s hands are as unsteady as you’ve ever seen them, not as confident on your waistband as they are the hilt of a blade, but he peels back the fabric inch by inch just fine.
In contrast, Sanji’s hands are quick and confident as they unzip your coat, removing your arms from the sleeves just as delicately as he tucked them in. He places your coat to the side, quickly removing your shirt in a similar fashion, leaving you in just your bra and underwear pressing against his wet shirt and pants, along with Zoro’s wet bottoms.
“Better?” You don’t know if you’ve ever heard Zoro so unsure.
“A little. You guys are still kind of wet, and I think it got all the way down to–” You cut yourself off, scolding yourself mentally. They’re only slightly damp, and the two men around you are as uncomfortable as it is. You don’t need to push it. You’ll survive with stiff nipples and a cold ass for a few hours.
Suddenly Sanji and Zoro chuckle, and you’re reminded that you’re surrounded by two of the strongest demons on the Grand Line. You can feel the rumble of laughter in their chests.
Zoro speaks first, hardly a trace of his initial hesitation remaining. “Oh, is that so? You need something else to stay warm?”
“Do you know what you’re asking for, angel?” Sanji’s voice is tense, controlled, and ready to break at any moment. His hands are against your waist, his eyes boring into yours. There’s a fire behind them, one that matches the intensity of the man behind you. There’s no sign of their earlier tension, too focused on you to remember their eternal fight.
Part of you still hesitates, the sane part that knows this is going to change a lot more than you’re ready for. But you’re so very cold, they’re so very warm, and a larger part of you has wanted this for a very long time. “I do.”
Your underwear is off before you even realize they’ve started moving. Sanji’s hands engulf your chest, his palms warm against your cold nipples. Zoro’s lips are against your neck, warm and comforting, before his teeth scrape against your skin, making you squeak. You can feel him smile against you.
Sanji’s still in his dress pants, though his shirt has disappeared. Your hands wander across his chest, admiring the hair painted across it and the way it emphasizes his pecs. You can feel Zoro’s massive chest pressed against your bare back, still slightly damp from the snow, soft relaxed muscle pressing against your shoulder blades. There’s something hard pressing both against your front and back, only separated from you by a few flimsy pieces of fabric. You think you’d kill a man to feel them both at once.
“Please–” You hardly get out the word before Sanji’s lips are against yours, swallowing your plea as his hands leave your breasts just long enough to let Zoro squeeze them. The swordsman is breathing heavily against your ear, his hips rutting just once against your ass. You moan, allow Sanji’s tongue to dart between your lips. You hear the sound of a belt unbuckling, or perhaps that was two? Zoro’s hands are pinching your nipples, making you whine, and making it really hard to concentrate on anything but the heat rapidly overtaking your body.
“We’ll give you what you want, don’t worry.” Zoro’s voice is husky as he pants, nose nuzzling lightly against your head. He squeezes you again, once, twice, rutting against you again, and you realize with a start there’s nothing between you anymore. Did Sanji take off his pants for him?
Maybe they’re better at working together than you give them credit for.
Sanji finally pulls back to breathe, letting you gasp for the air you’ve desperately needed but absolutely refused to pull back for. Light headed and dizzy, you lean forward, pressing your face directly between Sanji’s pecs. They’re somehow both soft and firm, perfectly sized, and, most importantly, very, very warm. You don’t even realize you’re nuzzling into him until you hear his laughter. “I think she has a favorite, mosshead.”
“Yeah, right! She hasn’t had the choice yet, idiot, you’ve had her pressed against your chest since you got here. She has no idea what she’s missing out on.”
“She just has discerning taste. Unfortunate for you, huh?”
Maybe they aren’t great at working together after all. You giggle, and that might be the last mistake you ever make. You feel their attention shift back to you, two predators no longer pulled away from their prey.
“Oh, you think this is funny, princess?” Zoro almost says it like an insult, but the way his hand slides across your stomach is almost heartbreakingly tender. “I think that means we haven’t been doing our jobs, huh, cook?”
“I think you’re right, mosshead. Clearly we aren’t taking good enough care of her if she can be distracted like that.” Something warm and hard rubs directly against your clit, making your head shoot up as you gasp and jump back, directly into Zoro’s crotch. “That’s more like it.”
Zoro nips at your neck again as his hand reaches lower, parting your lips and exposing you to both of them. “You shouldn’t be the only one with a view, hm?”
You think the cold might be making you delirious. It has to be, for you to say something so stupid without a second thought. “So you admit Sanji’s a view?”
Sanji laughs, a true, genuine full body laugh. Zoro chuckles as well, but his is far less genuine and far more dangerous. “Oh, you really think this is funny. Don’t worry, we’ll fix that.”
You peek over your shoulder to see his face, and the look in his eyes sends a chill down your spine and heat right to your core. You immediately look to Sanji for help, but you find no sympathy, his eyes focused downward, breathing heavily just at the sight of your cunt. “Oh, god, you’re beautiful.”
“We can agree on that,” Zoro mutters, breath tickling your ear. “You ready, cook?”
“I think I was born ready for this.” He takes his beautiful cock in his hand, pumping once, twice, lining himself up with your entrance. You can feel Zoro shift behind you, and you know he’s doing the same.
“It’s a shame you can’t see me, beautiful. You deserve to see my cock before it makes you scream my name, don’t you think?” His teeth sink into your neck again, making you moan, and you can see Sanji’s cock twitch at the sound.
They don’t speak as they both move forward in sync, pressing their tips against both of your holes. They allow you just one moment to catch your breath before they move, Sanji tortuously slow, Zoro mercilessly quick. Zoro is buried to the hilt before Sanji is even halfway inside, and you cry out, hands clawing against Sanji’s chest and Zoro’s thigh, a pathetic whine echoing against the cold stone that surrounds you.
You expect Sanji to stop, to cradle your face in his hands and kiss your tears away, but he keeps the same pace, voice sympathetic but firm. “I know, angel, I know. Just a few more seconds, then you can adjust. You can do it, I know you can.”
“Yeah, you’re strong, you can handle it. Can’t you?”
You whine again, nails definitely making a mark in Zoro’s firm thigh. “No, I can’t!”
“Yes, you can,” they insist in unison, voices soft. Your torture ceases as Sanji comes to a stop fully inside, and you can finally breathe again, blissfully and terribly full. You feel stretched beyond belief, as though you’ll rip in half at the slightest movement, but somehow you don’t. Two voices whisper soothing words in unison, though you can’t focus on them. A thumb brushes against your cheek, gathering the wetness that gathers there, and a pair of lips presses against the other cheek.
“You’re doing amazing.”
“You’re wonderful.”
“So strong.”
“So good for us.”
Their voices blend together, as do their actions, every hand somehow belonging to both and neither as they roam your body. One cradling your cheek, another rubbing soothing circles against your back. Slowly you come back to yourself, the feeling of fullness growing normal, feeling right, almost like you were made for this.
“Are you ready?” You can’t say who asked. You can’t even recall what you answered. You just know that a moment later, two sets of hips begin to piston into yours, pace steady and slow, as two sets of lips begin to kiss every exposed inch of your skin.
The callused hand against your clit is Zoro’s, you think. You can feel the roughness of his fingertips, hardened from years of training, not harsh against you, but certainly not merciful.
The hands against your chest are certainly Sanji. The fingers that roll your nipple between them are soft, precise, never faltering. The lips against your other breast are soft and gentle. You never once feel even a hint of teeth.
Zoro’s canines press into your neck. You cry out as he begins to thrust faster, out of sync with Sanji, finger moving carelessly against you. He can barely bring himself to rip his mouth away from your skin, determined to mark you before the night is over, but he does for just long enough to growl, “So fucking good for us.”
Sanji pulls his mouth from your chest with a loud pop. “So good, princess, so wonderful. Like you were made for this. Like we were made for you.”
You can’t respond coherently, moaning out something that might resemble one of their names, or might be a cry to the divine. You can’t tell the difference anymore.
“Yes,” they mutter in unison. Sanji’s hips speed up to match Zoro, his pace a little less steady and a little more frantic. His face is flushed, his pupils blown out, his hair askew. Zoro’s free arm pulls you tightly against his chest, causing Sanji to push further forward, crushing you between them.
“Are you warm?” Sanji’s staring directly into your eyes, hardly blinking as his fingers dig into your hips, every one of his thrusts bringing him to the hilt. “Is it working?”
Zoro huffs something that might be a laugh in your ear. “I think she’s burning hot, Sanji. Keep going.”
You expect him to bristle at the order, but instead he smiles wider than you’ve ever seen, pressing his face into your neck.
You can hardly take a full breath, every passing moment pulling your muscles tighter and tighter, so much that you feel like you might snap in two. Invisible strings pull you up, up, up, your shoulders curling inward as your nails dig so hard into Zoro’s thighs you think you might be close to drawing blood. A single stroke of Zoro’s finger lines up perfectly with his and Sanji’s cocks pressing into every sensitive spot you think you have, making you cry out, pull inward again, before every part of you is wracked with your orgasm.
Your cunt clenching around him is evidently too much for Sanji, as his thrusts become unsteady and he whines into your neck as he spills into you. He cries your name as his arms wrap around you, pressing between your back and Zoro’s abs.
Zoro follows not long after, speeding up to an impossible pace before one final thrust does him in, his hands grasping at your ass as he cums. The three of you sit, panting in a desperate attempt to catch your breath, before you just barely manage to squeeze out a few quiet words. “Thanks for warming me up.”
They both laugh, faces hidden in either side of your neck.
“It’s what I live for, angel.”
“Anytime, princess.”
They’re slow to separate from you, Zoro pulling out from you inch by tortuous inch as you whine. “I know, but it has to happen eventually.”
“Speak for yourself, asshole. I’m gonna die like this,” Sanji grumbles into your skin.
“You might if you let the cold set in, dumbass.” Something hits you in the back of the head, making you cry out, before you realize what it is: a blanket.
You stare at him. “You had a blanket this whole time?”
You can’t see the look on Sanji’s face, but judging by how smug Zoro looks, you’re missing out. “It wouldn’t have helped with those wet clothes anyway. We made enough heat for it to work.”
You narrow your eyes at him, the truth becoming clear. “You forgot.”
“What? No!”
“You forgot, and post nut clarity made you remember.”
“Never say that to me again. And no!”
Sanji pulls away from your neck, and you turn to look at him. “I think he forgot.”
“He definitely forgot.”
“Shut up!”

The ship had gone quiet in a way it only did late at night. Not silent—never silent—but softer. Distant voices below deck, the low creak of wood shifting with the waves, the occasional burst of laughter that didn’t quite reach where you were sitting. You leaned back against the railing, watching the lantern light sway gently across the deck. “…You’re going to mix those up again.” Across from you, Zoro didn’t look up. “I’m not mixing anything.”
“You are.”
“I’m not.”
“You put antiseptic with painkillers.”
“That’s not wrong.”
“It is if Chopper is the one who has to fix it later.”
A small laugh broke between you—light, familiar. And right on cue, Chopper looked up from where he’d been carefully sorting supplies beside you. “Zoro, you did mix them up,” he said, half amused, half exasperated. Zoro clicked his tongue. “…Tch.” But he moved them anyway. It was easy like this. Quiet, routine, unspoken roles slipping into place without anyone needing to acknowledge them. Zoro stayed nearby. You filled the silence when it stretched too long. Chopper worked between you both, focused and content.
Until he wasn’t.
It was small. The kind of thing most people would miss. His hands slowed. Didn’t stop fully, just…slowed. His movements were less precise. Breathing a little too measured, like he was trying to keep it steady on purpose. You noticed first. “…Chopper?” He flinched, just slightly, but enough. “I’m fine!” he said quickly, a little too quick. “I just— I think I’m going to go to bed early.” You frowned. “You just started—” “I know! I just—” He hesitated, looking down at the supplies in front of him. “…I’m tired.” Zoro’s voice cut in, flat and direct. “Thinking about that nightmare.”
Chopper froze. Didn’t look up. Didn’t deny it. You softened immediately, shifting closer without thinking. “Hey… it’s okay.”
“I’m fine,” he repeated, quieter this time. But his paws weren’t moving anymore. Zoro stood. No hesitation. No questions. Just stepped closer and stopped a few feet away, arms crossed, solid and unmoving. You crouched slightly, lowering yourself to Chopper’s level. “You don’t have to push through it,” you said gently. He shook his head, ears drooping. “It’s not a big deal, I just—” His voice caught. And that was it. You reached for him. Not pulling—just opening your arms, giving him the choice.
He took it.
Stepping forward, small and immediate, pressing into you like he’d been holding himself back for too long. “I didn’t like it,” he mumbled against you. “I know,” you said softly, one hand resting against his back. Zoro didn’t move. But he shifted his stance slightly, closer now—close enough that his presence wasn’t something Chopper had to look for. “It felt real,” Chopper added, quieter. Your hand moved in slow, steady circles. “It’s not,” you said. “You’re here.” Zoro’s voice followed, low and even. “You’re on the ship.” Simple and certain. Something solid to hold onto. Chopper nodded slightly against you, though his grip didn’t loosen right away. “…I know,” he whispered.
You stayed like that for a while. No one rushing it. No one trying to fix it faster than it would settle on its own. Eventually, his breathing evened out. The tension eased—slowly, but noticeably. “I think…” he started, pulling back just a little. “…I think I can sleep now.” You smiled softly. “Yeah?” He nodded. “I’ll walk you,” you said, already starting to stand. Zoro moved at the same time.
Chopper didn’t question it. Just stepped between you both as you started toward the stairs, like that had always been where he belonged. The hallway was quieter than the deck. Dim and warm, safe in a different way. You paused outside his door. “…Want us to stay until you fall asleep?” Chopper hesitated before he nodded. “…Yeah.” Zoro didn’t comment. Just leaned back against the wall as you both stepped inside.
It didn’t take long. You sat beside Chopper, talking quietly—nothing important, just small things to fill the space until his eyes started to drift. Zoro stayed where he was, silent, watchful. Between the two of you, Chopper relaxed. By the time his breathing settled into something deep and even, you were barely speaking anymore. Just… there. You stood slowly, careful not to disturb him, and stepped back into the hallway. Zoro followed. The door closed softly behind you.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. “…It’s happening more often,” you said quietly. Not worried, just… aware. Zoro glanced at the door, then back at you. “…Then we’ll keep being here.” No hesitation. No elaboration. Just fact. You exhaled softly, leaning back against the wall beside him. “…Yeah.” There was a small pause. “…Guess we will.” From inside the room, nothing stirred, no restless shifting, no uneven breathing. Just sleep. And for now—That was enough.
<Chopper doesn't mean to wake anyone. He really doesn't. But some nights, the past is louder than the present- and the memories don't care how far he's sailed or how many people love him now. So, he finds himself standing at their door anyway.
Luckily, you always make room. And somehow, without ever saying it out loud, Zoro does too.>
Pt2
Zoro x Fem!Reader
The ship was quiet. Too quiet. The kind of quiet that settled deep into the wood of the Thousand Sunny, where even the usual creaks seemed softened by the late hour. The ocean rolled gently beneath, steady and calm—like the world itself had decided to rest. You should have been asleep. Curled beneath the blankets, your back pressed lightly against Zoro’s side, his warmth steady and familiar. One of his arms rested lazily over your waist, heavy in that half-conscious way that meant he’d pulled you closer sometime in the night without waking. It was peaceful.
Until—
A small sound. Barely there. Easy to miss. A soft, uneven sniffle from the doorway. Your eyes opened immediately. “…Chopper?” There he stood—small, shaking, framed by the dim light. His little hooves clutched the doorframe like it was the only thing holding him upright. His eyes were wide. Glossy. Afraid. “I—” his voice wobbled. “I didn’t wanna wake you, but I—” You were already sitting up. “Hey, hey—it’s okay. Come here.” No hesitation. No questions. Your arms opened, blanket shifting, an invitation he didn’t need twice. He rushed in. Climbed up with a clumsy urgency, burrowing straight into you like he was trying to disappear into something safe. You wrapped him up immediately, one hand cradling the back of his head, the other rubbing slow, grounding circles into his back.
“I’ve got you,” you murmured softly. “You’re okay.” Behind you, Zoro shifted. A quiet exhale. A low groan as he woke—not fully, but enough. His eye cracked open, gaze flicking lazily toward the source of movement. He took in the scene in a single glance; Chopper trembling, your arms around him, the tension in the air. And without a word— He moved. Zoro shifted onto his back, lifting his arm slightly so you could guide Chopper between you both. The motion was automatic, instinctive, like this had already become something his body understood before his mind caught up. “There,” you whispered, easing Chopper down.
He curled immediately, small form tucked into the space between you, clutching your shirt in one hoof while the other grabbed onto the edge of Zoro’s sleeve like a lifeline. Zoro’s arm settled over both of you. Heavy. Solid. There. “…Bad one?” he muttered, voice rough with sleep. Chopper nodded against your chest, unable to speak. You felt it—the way his breathing hitched. The way his small body refused to relax. So, you kept talking. Soft. Steady. “Do you wanna tell me about it?” A pause. Then, barely audible— “I was alone again.” Your chest tightened. Zoro went still beside you.
“I was back there,” Chopper continued, voice shaking harder now. “And they were calling me a monster again and I—I couldn’t find anyone and—” His words broke, dissolving into quiet sobs. You held him tighter instantly, pressing your cheek against his head. “You’re not there anymore,” you whispered. “You’re here. With us.”
“But it felt real—”
“I know.” Your fingers threaded gently through his fur. “Nightmares do that. They try to trick you.” Zoro exhaled slowly. Then his hand moved. Not hesitant. Not unsure. It came to rest firmly on Chopper’s back—warm, grounding, unmoving. “You’re fine,” he said quietly. “Just a dream.” Simple words. But steady. Certain. Unshakable. Chopper sniffled, still trembling, but his grip tightened on Zoro’s sleeve—like he believed him. Or wanted to. “They’re not here,” Zoro added after a moment, voice lower now. “No one’s calling you anything.” Silence settled again. The ship creaked softly around you. The ocean breathed. And slowly—very slowly—Chopper’s sobs began to quiet.
You kept rubbing his back, your touch never stopping, your voice dropping into soft murmurs—half-formed reassurances, gentle nonsense, anything to keep him anchored. Zoro didn’t move. Not even when Chopper shifted closer—pressing more into his side, clutching tighter. Not even when his arm went numb from the awkward angle. He just stayed. A solid wall of warmth and presence. After a while, Chopper’s breathing evened out. Not fully asleep yet—but no longer trapped in that panic. “…Can I stay?” he asked softly, voice small again. You smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “Always.” Zoro huffed quietly. “Kid, you’re already in the bed.” A tiny, shaky giggle. Progress.
Time passed. You didn’t know how much. Minutes, maybe. Maybe longer. Chopper had settled between you, his small body finally relaxing into the warmth on both sides. One hoof still held onto your shirt. The other rested loosely against Zoro’s chest now, no longer gripping—just… there. Safe. Half-asleep, you felt Zoro shift again. Carefully this time. His chin came to rest lightly against the top of Chopper’s head. Protective. You smiled in the dark. “If anyone sees you like this,” you whispered teasingly, “your reputation’s ruined.” A pause. “…They won’t,” Zoro muttered. You could hear the faint scowl in his voice. But his arm tightened just slightly around both of you. Didn’t move away. Didn’t deny it.
By morning, the sun filtered softly through the curtains. Golden light spilled across the room. And the three of you were still there. Chopper sprawled across both of you now, one leg kicked over your waist, face buried into Zoro’s side, completely dead to the world. You blinked awake first. Then smiled. Because Zoro was already awake, staring at the ceiling. Completely still. “…You’ve been awake for a while, haven’t you?”
“…Yeah.”
“And you didn’t move.”
A pause.
“…Didn’t wanna wake him.”
Your smile softened.
From the doorway, a quiet voice whispered— “I knew it.” You both turned. Nami stood there, arms crossed, grinning like she’d just confirmed the best theory of her life. Zoro’s expression immediately flattened. “Get lost.” She ignored him completely. “That is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Out.”
“You guys are literally his parents.”
“We are not—”
Chopper stirred. All three of you froze. He shifted slightly, nuzzling deeper into Zoro’s side with a soft, content sigh. Zoro went completely still again. Didn’t move. Didn’t breathe too loud. Nami’s grin widened. “Oh my god.”
“Leave,” Zoro said flatly.
She finally did—but not before shooting you a look that screamed, we are talking about this later. The door closed. Silence returned. You looked at Zoro. He looked at the ceiling. “…Parents, huh?”
“…Shut up.” But his hand came up anyway. Resting gently against the back of Chopper’s head, holding him there. And in that quiet, sunlit room— With the ocean calm outside. And the world far away. Chopper slept peacefully. No monsters. No voices. No loneliness. Just warmth.

The salty air of Loguetown was thick with the scent of the sea and something else—something metallic and decisive. It was the scent of justice, or at least, the version of it your father, Captain Smoker, dispensed. You loved him, truly. He was a good man, steadfast and strong, with a heart that, beneath the gruff exterior, cared deeply for justice. But his world was a cage of gray walls and rigid rules. It was safe, predictable, and utterly suffocating for a girl who dreamed of endless blue horizons.
You, with your soft pastel dresses and a penchant for collecting pretty seashells, were an anomaly in his world of white uniforms and clenched jaws. You were his sweet girl, his little secret, kept sheltered in the Marine base while he hunted down the very pirates who represented the freedom you craved.
Today was no different. The whispers of a certain Straw Hat pirate being in town had your father on edge, his presence a looming storm cloud in the small apartment you shared. "Stay here," he'd commanded, his voice rough. "Don't leave. I mean it."
You'd nodded, eyes wide and innocent. "Yes, Papa."
But as the front door clicked shut, a different kind of storm was brewing in your chest. The call of the town was too loud to ignore. You wanted to see the world, not just read about it in books. With a deep breath, you slipped out of your frilly bedroom dress and into a simpler, more practical sundress. Tying your hair back with a pink ribbon, you crept out the back window, your heart thumping a frantic rhythm against your ribs.
Loguetown was a vibrant tapestry of life. Stalls overflowed with exotic fruits and strange artifacts, and sailors from every corner of the Grand Line swaggered through the streets. It was thrilling and a little terrifying. You wandered, wide-eyed, until a particular shop caught your attention. It was a swordsmith's, the window displaying blades of terrifying beauty.
You were admiring a katana with a hilt wrapped in deep blue silk when the bell above the door chimed. You glanced over, and your breath caught in your throat. In walked three people who radiated an energy you'd never encountered before. A loud, long-nosed boy in goggles, a beautiful orange-haired girl with a fierce expression, and a man… a man who immediately commanded all of your attention.
He was tall, with short green hair that was as wild as the sea itself. He wore a white shirt and green haramaki, and at his hip were three swords. Three. He moved with a lazy, confident grace, his eyes scanning the shop with a sharp, focused intensity. But what truly captivated you was the fact that he seemed to be asleep. Or trying to. He was leaning against a wall, arms crossed, eyes closed, even as his companions chattered excitedly.
You couldn't look away. There was something about him, a quiet strength that was more compelling than your father's loud authority. You watched as he suddenly jolted awake, drawn to a magnificent sword on display—a cursed blade, the shopkeeper called it, named Wado Ichimonji. The way his eyes softened as he looked at it, the reverence in his touch, it was like watching a man reunite with a lost part of his soul.
The transaction was quick, and as he turned to leave, his gaze swept past you. For a fleeting moment, your eyes met. His were dark, deep, and held an ancient sort of wisdom. A blush crept up your neck, and you quickly looked down at your shoes, your heart fluttering wildly.
"Hey, you okay?" a voice asked.
You looked up to see the orange-haired girl smiling at you kindly. "You look a little lost."
"Oh! I-I'm fine," you stammered, your voice softer than you intended. "Just... looking."
"We're about to get something to eat. Want to join?" the long-nosed boy offered cheerfully.
Before you could answer, the green-haired swordsman spoke, his voice a low, rumbling baritone. "Luffy's waiting. We shouldn't linger." He didn't look at you, his focus already on the door.
"Right! Sorry to bother you!" you said quickly, stepping aside.
As they left, you felt a strange pang of disappointment. You wanted to know more about them. About him. Against your better judgment, you found yourself following them at a distance. They led you to a small restaurant, where a boy with a straw hat was eating with an almost inhuman enthusiasm.
You lingered outside, peering through a window, lost in thought. This was it. This was the adventure you dreamed of. A ragtag group of people who weren't bound by rules, but by something else—friendship? A shared dream? The green-haired swordsman sat with his back to the wall, sipping his sake, a silent, steady presence in the chaos of his crew.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted. The restaurant doors burst open, and there stood your father, his jitte held menacingly, his face a thundercloud of fury.
"Straw Hat Luffy!" he bellowed.
Panic seized you. You ducked behind a barrel, your heart hammering. You watched as the scene unfolded—Luffy's capture, the sudden appearance of a mysterious dragon in the sky, the chaos as everyone was swept up into the air. You saw the green-haired swordsman leap into action, his swords flashing as he fought to save his captain.
And then, you saw your chance. As your father was distracted by the dragon, you saw the swordsman land gracefully in an alley below. Without thinking, you ran.
"Wait!" you called out, your voice small.
He turned, his hand on the hilt of his new sword, his eyes narrowing. "Who are you?"
"I... I don't want any trouble," you said, holding up your hands. "I just... I saw what happened. Your friend..."
"Luffy," he supplied, his gaze still wary.
"Right. Luffy. The Marines... my father..." you trailed off, the words catching in your throat.
His eyes widened slightly in realization. "You're Smoker's daughter."
You nodded, bracing for his anger or distrust. Instead, he just watched you, his expression unreadable. "Why are you helping us?"
You took a shaky breath, deciding to be honest. "Because I don't want to be a Marine's daughter anymore. I want to see the world. I want to be free." You gestured vaguely in the direction they had come from. "I want... what you have."
He was silent for a long moment, the sounds of the distant chaos fading into the background. "It's not an easy life," he said finally, his voice low. "It's dangerous."
"I know," you whispered, and you did. You'd seen the danger your entire life, but it was a danger wrapped in order and control. Their danger was wild and untamed, and it called to you.
He studied your face, your earnest eyes, the slight tremble in your hands. He saw not a threat, but a girl standing at a crossroads, one he himself had once stood at. "What's your name?"
"[y/n]," you answered.
"Roronoa Zoro," he replied. It was the first time you'd heard his full name, and it sent a shiver down your spine.
Just then, a voice called out. "Zoro! Let's go!" It was Luffy, somehow free and already running toward the harbor.
Zoro looked from Luffy back to you. He made a decision. "Can you fight?"
You shook your head. "No. But I can cook. And I can clean. And I'm a fast learner."
A ghost of a smile touched his lips. "Good enough. If you're coming, you'd better be able to keep up."
And just like that, you were running. You ran with them through the streets of Loguetown, your past life falling away with each step. You reached the harbor just as their ship, the Going Merry, was casting off. You didn't hesitate, scrambling up the rope ladder with a strength you didn't know you possessed.
As you collapsed on the deck, gasping for air, you looked back at the receding town. You saw your father on the docks, a lone figure staring out at the sea. A pang of guilt hit you, but it was quickly overshadowed by a feeling so immense it almost brought you to tears: freedom.
The first few weeks were a whirlwind of new experiences. The crew, though eccentric, was welcoming. Luffy declared you their "official morale booster" because of your sweet nature and the way you hummed while you mended the sails. Sanji, the cook, adored you, calling you "my little angel" and teaching you the art of cooking on the open sea. Usopp loved having an audience for his stories, and Nami appreciated your help with organizing the charts.
But it was Zoro you found yourself gravitating toward. He was often found on the deck, sleeping, training, or simply watching the horizon. You started bringing him water when he trained, leaving a small plate of cookies Sanji had let you bake by his sleeping spot. He never said much, but he always acknowledged you with a nod or a quiet "Thanks."
One evening, as the sun painted the sky in shades of orange and pink, you found him on the crow's nest, sharpening his swords. You climbed up, settling beside him.
"It's beautiful," you said softly, watching the sunset.
"Hm," he grunted,
but his movements slowed, his focus shifting from the blade to the horizon you were admiring. The silence between you wasn't awkward; it was comfortable, filled by the gentle creak of the ship and the distant cry of seagulls.
"Thank you," you said after a moment, your voice barely a whisper.
"For what?" he asked, not looking at you, his attention on the whetstone as it drew a long, satisfying note from the steel.
"For letting me come. For not turning me in to my father."
He stopped sharpening. "You made your own choice. I just didn't stop you."
"But you could have," you insisted. "You could have seen me as a liability. As the enemy's daughter."
He finally turned his head, his dark eyes meeting yours. They were intense, but not unkind. "I don't judge people by their parents. I judge them by their actions and their heart. You're not a liar, and you're not a spy. You're just a girl who wants to sail." He shrugged, a minimal gesture. "That's good enough for me."
Your heart swelled. It was the most he had ever said to you at once, and it was more validating than any praise you had ever received from your father's superiors. "Zoro?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask you something? Why do you want to be the greatest swordsman so badly?"
He looked back out at the sea, his expression turning distant, as if he were seeing a memory. "I made a promise to someone. To a rival, and a friend. It's the only path I can walk." His voice was low, laced with a conviction so profound it made your own dreams feel small and fleeting.
"That's... beautiful," you said softly. "A promise is a powerful thing."
He didn't respond, but you saw the way his shoulders relaxed, just a fraction. You felt like you had been granted a glimpse into his soul, a sacred space he guarded fiercely. You wanted to protect that promise, almost as much as he did.
Omg sylus sitting you in his lap while you’re shopping and him teasing you into spending more and more
You should've known not to tell Sylus you needed something.
All you had done was offhandedly mention you needed a new perfume because yours had run out. Just like that, his ears had perked up and he was pulling you into his lap and opening the Sephora website on his computer.
"Which one do you want?" He murmurs into your ear, making you shiver as your slightly shaking hands type in the name of your perfume. He knows how much it works you up to sit in his lap like this, which is exactly why he'd done it. You try to focus and choose the regular size, but he clicks his tongue disapprovingly.
"You wouldn't want to run out again. Get the biggest one. And a few refills." His lips brush your neck as he speaks, making the task of clicking more things considerably more difficult.
You think it's over when the perfume is in your cart. But he doesn't let you move an inch, grip around your waist tightening just slightly when you sit up.
"S-Sylus I don't need anything else." You try not to think about how warm he is, and how your lower abdomen twists when he looks at you through his lashes.
"Your mascara is almost finished. Get a new one, won't you, sweetie?" A hand slips under your shirt, caressing your bare skin. You swear he smirks when your eyes flutter as you try to keep yourself collected.
It's almost a Herculean task getting your mascara in the cart. You have half a mind to just beg him to bend you over the desk now, feeling his excitement against your ass. But still, he hums in disapproval.
"Didn't you say you wanted to try a new body lotion? Get that fancy one." His words are mumbled against your skin as he sucks marks on your neck, fully grinding his hard on against you now.
You add the lotion and press check out before he can see another word. Still, the total is ridiculous, but Sylus merely chuckles when he sees the number.
"So expensive...I expect a kiss in return." He notes, though his eyes widen when you turn around in his lap, eyes hazy.
