Sanji just finished cooking breakfast, he served his masterpiece in front of his crewmate, smirking, genuinely satisfied and proud of himself.
As usual you, Nami and Vivi were served first before the boys, much to Luffy, and Usopp’s disappointment.
“That's not fair, man. Getting them ladies to get the sweetest first taste while we men get the scraps?” Usopp complains and Luffy is salivating just by looking at the plates served in front of the ladies.
The cook just shrugged at the complaining bunch, not listening to their rants and made his way to your direction.
Sanji placed a plate in front of you, the food meticulously presented, he also made you a cup of tea smiling charmingly as you took the cup from him with an awkward look given you could feel Zoro’s stare while he sat beside you with Chopper settling on his lap, the reindeer is eyeing the food, obviously excited to get started with breakfast.
“A cup of freshly brewed coffee for the beautiful maiden on the ship.” Sanji winks.
“Thanks, Sanji—”
Before you could even sip on the cup of coffee, Zoro snatched the cup away from you, beating you into it. He sipped on it with a smug look on his face as he watched Sanji’s face get painted with horror.
“I just said it’s for the beautiful maiden on the ship, not for a mosshead.”
Zoro looked at the cook with a bored look as he gulped the entire thing. He placed the cup right back down on the wooden table, his lips curling up into a smug smirk when he saw Sanji’s dumbfounded reaction.
“That's an expensive brew you little—”
“Well then, you should spend your time brewing your expensive coffee for someone else rather than brewing them for my woman.”
You almost spit the roasted beef that you were chewing on when Zoro just blurted it out like it's nothing.
Nami and Vivi stopped eating, their mouths gaped open at the swordsman, before they switched their gaze to you.
Usopp is just as dumbfounded meanwhile Luffy took the chance to annihilate a piece of his meat while Usopp was staring at the commotion.
Sanji’s jaw dropped, almost like he was in a freeze frame just staring at the green haired swordsman with absolute surprise.
Nami was the first one to recover from the utter disbelief and looked at Zoro. “Since when did you learn to make a joke?” She asked, at this point in her mind it's much more likely for Zoro to do that as a joke to mess with Sanji rather than that being reality.
She looks at you and Zoro, memories of the two of you constantly screaming your heads off because of your daily banters make her think she's in some sort of fever dream. Did she get bitten by another tick? Is this a hallucination?
Vivi observed quietly her mouth still gaped open but then memories came flashing right back in her mind. She's a recent addition to the crew but during the first time she met you, she remembered how Zoro fiercely placed himself right in front of you.
The cogs in her mind start to turn, she does remember your endless argument with the seemingly nonchalant swordsman, a banter that the entire crew has learned to tone out of their mind; it's too frequent their brains don't even register most of it now.
Vivi's eyes met Nami’s and at that moment both women had a realization.
“It's after Drum Island isn't it?!” the two asked in unison looking straight at you.
The two connected the dots, how the never ending loud bickerings between you two started to cease, at first they believed it was all because of Chopper, that you both just learned to tone it down to not scare off Chopper but they looked at how you two were sitting from across the table. Chopper is on Zoro's lap, you're sitting beside Zoro looking completely taken aback.
It's like a damn family portrait.
You flinched at the sudden interrogation, Sanji just recovered but felt like his entire strength left his body, Usopp had to catch him to steady his feet.
Chopper currently sat on Zoro’s lap and is absolutely innocent at whatever’s happening but he felt like he needed to give his thoughts, seeing you speechless.
“Hmm, Zoro loves her! That's why he keeps her close and hugs her tight and kisses her because he wants to keep her safe like I kept Dr. Hiriluk’s fla—”
Zoro gave Chopper a mouthful of meat, stopping the reindeer from talking, the latter ate it, swallowing it down, confused why his sentence was cut off but didn't make efforts to question Zoro.
Sanji blinks, finding his voice after the utter shock, “ARE YOU SERIOUS? HIM! HIM?! OVER ME?!” Sanji asked dramatically.
Zoro looked up at the blonde, “Go cry about it, chore boy.” He raised his brow taunting the cook and Sanji is easily rage baited.
“This must be some bad dream.” He mutters to himself.
You felt dizzy from all the attention, and from what you can see Chopper can't seem to comprehend what's happening around him.
Your ears are overwhelmed with voices, Nami’s, Vivi’s, Usopp’s, Sanji’s, and Luffy’s loud chomping noises.
Honestly you've had enough. Well, you knew sooner or later the shift in your dynamics with Zoro ought to start suspicions, though you both never addressed nor talked about how to break it off to your crewmates.
Your eyes travel around the room still observing their over the top reactions, you hold your hands up to get noticed and clear your throat.
“Look, it's true… Zoro and I...we're a thing now.”
You're trying to find a better term for it but that's the only thing that you can come up with and Zoro smirks at the bewildered bunch.
“And yes, it's after Drum Island. And look, this is the only time I'm explaining okay. That's it. We are what we are now. I hope that's clear.”
Sanji clutched his hand over his chest. “My poor heart.” He says dramatically falling over while Usopp catches him again.
Nami and Vivi still look in disbelief like the entire thing is some joke you and Zoro were playing.
Zoro has had enough of the skeptic looks, with a bored look he nipped your chin between his fingers, tilted it on his way, used his free hand to cover Chopper's eyes before he leaned down to kiss you.
Your breathing hitched but almost as if it was instinct you automatically placed your hand on his biceps, a habit you usually do whenever he kisses you.
Even Luffy who was fully invested in his food turned his head, his eyes widened in confusion, wondering why Zoro’s lips were pressed on yours.
When Zoro pulled away, he removed his hand covering Chopper's eyes, the confused reindeer looked up at him. “What was that for?” he asks.
“Is that enough proof?” Zoro asked, he held your hand pulling you to stand up with him, his other free hand still carrying Chopper as you both exit the kitchen to go up in the deck.
______
“You can be so extra sometimes you know that?” You told Zoro as you both settle by the figure head, you took Chopper from his arms, the reindeer settling in your arms with a smile, you brush his fur gently.
Zoro shrugs, “Don't just blame me, he snitched on us too.” He boop Chopper's blue nose and the reindeer scrunched his face up pouting, making the green haired swordsman smile.
“I just said what you told me, right?!” Chopper asked looking up at you for confirmation and you giggled pinching his cheeks.
“Ahuh you did, and he should've known better than to blame a child.” You remarked looking at Zoro’s ‘sulking’ face but the small curve of his lips says otherwise.
“Right, right teaming up with the kid against me sounds right.” he rolled his eyes but his arms wrapped around your waist pulling you close to his side kissing your forehead and Chopper points him.
“See?! You do kiss her! I just told them that you do!”
Zoro laughed patting Chopper's head. “Damn right you did.”
Hiii! Could you please do more of reader, Zoro and, Chopper theyre so cute! And more kisses between reader and Zoro….maybe someone is being mean to chopper on an island the stop on and reader picks fight she can’t finish to stand up for him and little things like that. Also I just know he calls them mom and dad in his head lol but that’s just me…
Found Part 3
A Zoro x Reader One Piece Fanfiction (with Chopper!)
Note: I wrote this with the Live Action Adaptation in mind so I will follow the same structure that the live action did. This is heavily unedited.
Thank you for the love you gave for the first two parts! My heart is warm and full, I didn’t expect the amount of love it received. Thank you guys!
Chopper walks with you hand in hand, as he insisted while you make your way through the crowded market. He was extremely excited to see what this island offers, he loved Sun Island and how different it was from Drum Island, so he’s more eager to explore the wonders of this island with you.
You stopped by a stall seeing new herbs and some seedlings, you looked down squeezing Chopper’s hand. “You wanna come see this?” you asked carrying him up in your arms so he can take a look. “Oh, yes! We can turn those into tonics, which helps with cold treatment too! And if we buy one in the pot we can have a lot of supplies, it also helps with wounds.” Chopper exclaimed.
Chopper settles in your arms, looking up at you with wide eyes and you carry him closer to your chest. “Go on then, tell the nice lady we’re buying these.” you encouraged, giving him the money he needed for the purchase. He reached out for it and looked at the lady afraid to speak up, realizing they’ve been staring at him for a while.
His interactions with humans were always a hit or miss, it’s very unknown for some folks to see a creature like Chopper but today as he looked at the lady’s warm smile as she awaits for Chopper to speak up, he knew there’s nothing to be afraid of given, you were holding him up safely in your arms.
“Can we buy these?” he asked in his tiny voice. Pointing the herbs he needed and deems useful for the ships infirmary.
The lady smiled at Chopper, packing the herbs and the seedlings. “Is it your first errand, kiddo? What a good kid.” She took the payment from Chopper, still smiling and handed him the bags. Chopper felt proud at his first successful shopping and smiled back at the woman.
“Thank you!” he said enthusiastically, carrying the bags as you gently put him down, he held your hand as you both moved on to the next stall.
You watched Chopper’s expression closely, as far as you know, Chopper would be a teen—based on your estimation. But he still behaves way younger, you wanted him to soak it in but at the same time, you want to give him a footing that allows him to socialize without thinking he’ll get hurt.
He’s comfortable with the crew, but you don’t want to cage him into that bubble. He joined the crew to experience new wonders after all, and you wanted to give him the gentle push and encouragement he needed so he could have the courage to face this new world.
You head to the less crowded part of the market, still holding Chopper’s hand while he looks around the wide variety of products around.
“Chopper…I have to buy some supplies that Nami asked me to get for her. But I still have another item in my list, I need to get Chamomile for our tea.” you gently pulled Chopper on the side of a nearby stall crouching down to his level. “Do you think you can go to that area over there to check if they have some?” you watched Chopper’s eyes widened as his eyes followed the area you were pointing at.
It’s not crowded, he could easily navigate that area and there are markers and signs so he won’t get lost, he looked back at you blinking, contemplating if he can manage to do it by himself.
His eyes landed on the bags you were carrying, they must’ve been heavy, and you’ve been carrying those and holding his hand while shopping, he hadn’t realized how hard it must’ve been for you to ensure every item on the list is bought.
He remembers that you taught him how to buy from the kind lady earlier, if all merchants were like that, it would be an easy feat to get chamomile.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to.” you gave him the way out, seeing the cogs turning in his cute head. But he looked at you with determination, shaking his head as he took some shopping bag from your hands, the ones he can carry in his tiny form.
“No, I wanna help…let’s meet after I buy chamomile? Will these bills be enough?” he asked, showing the money you gave him.
You smiled fondly and patted his head. “Yeah that’s more than enough, you can keep the change and maybe buy something that catches your eye?” you offered the reward and his eyes sparkled instantly, the thought of buying something for himself excited the reindeer boy.
“HMM! I’ll go ahead! You should get Nami’s supply!” he waved, walking away, ready for his next adventure.
He still looked back at you occasionally, so you pretended to walk in the opposite direction before hiding behind a huge post, you let him get further a little more before you walked after him. It's great that you chose this less crowded area, you can easily follow him without him getting lost in the crowd.
You already expected that Chopper would be getting attention from the locals that’s why you followed closely, you lied about getting Nami’s supply, you just wanted to give him the chance to feel independent to develop his self esteem.
Chopper’s tiny hooves tapped around the pavement as he walked up to the stall. “Mister, can I buy some chamomile?” he asked in his tip toes, handing his payment to the old man.
The old man examined the reindeer boy in front of him, and scoffed. “What’s a little kid like you doing without yer Mom or Dad huh? You might get lost in ‘ere.” he said gruffly but still moves to pack up the chamomile, scaling it as he looks at Chopper.
Chopper was a little scared, he was afraid he'd get chased away but the old man was actually concerned about him shopping alone. “Thank you, Mister.” he said handing his money and the old man gave him his change. Chopper tucked the change in his bag and went on his way to your meeting place.
It was a successful purchase and Chopper is filled with joy, you entrusted him for this errand and he did it! He’d like to reunite with you right away and see that proud smile on your face. He’s hopping happily, he realized he definitely should tell Zoro he helped you out shopping today.
For Chopper, he felt like the world is much brighter now, but realistically speaking even the sunny days can have occasional dark clouds painting its sky. He hops happily and a store nearby caught his attention and he decided to make a quick stop.
After purchasing something from the change he got from buying chamomile, Chopper continues his way back to your meeting place, looking forward to show you what he bought.
Chopper ran into something hard, the impact sent him butt first on the ground, thankfully he held the shopping bag to his chest, so all his purchases were safe, he looked up and yelped, seeing a man tower over him.
“Ow!” Chopper exclaimed in pain, rubbing the sore spot and some scratches he got from stumbling, “Please look upfront when you’re walking…” he said in his tiny voice looking up at the man.
“Oy, can’t you see where you’re going huh? Your old folks didn’t teach you manners huh?”
You saw the scene unfold, the man crouched down on Chopper’s level about to pick him up by his gruff and you stepped in, you wouldn’t want Chopper’s first act of independence corrupted by a bad experience, you wouldn’t want anyone stealing that feeling of freedom from him, not while you’re here.
“I have manners! That’s why I walk properly! You’re the one who wasn't looking!” Chopper stood up despite his small figure. He looked up at the man who’s so much taller than him, he wouldn’t back down, no, not when you and Zoro taught him nothing’s ever gonna happen if he won’t have the courage to always take the first step.
You held your dagger tucked in your waist, as much as possible you wouldn’t want to draw any attention, but if Chopper’s safety is compromised you won’t hesitate to get some blood stain in this concrete pavement.
You took a step forward, ready to scoop up Chopper in your arms, but he seemed fine, he’s standing his ground, his brows furrowed, his eyes are determined.
“You little piece of shit—” the man was about to hit Chopper with his clenched fist and your grip on your dagger tightened ready to charge yourself to the man but you felt the breeze shift, heavy footsteps echoed in the cold concrete pavement of the marketplace and you heard that rough voice from behind.
“It appears to me that you need to learn some manners.”
Zoro steps in holding your hand to the side stopping you from drawing your dagger, a quick gentle look at you made you drop your hands to your side, knowing Zoro is gonna take care of this by himself. he steps towards terrified Chopper and helped him get up, Zoro’s eyes scanned Chopper quickly looking if there are any injuries, he saw some scratch probably from the impact of his collision with the man.
Zoro’s pupils turned to slit as he saw the scratch, he approached the man whose eyes set in his swords, he blocked Chopper’s line of sight so he wouldn't see the man.
“Ha—who are you? Why do you care about that runt? You can’t even get much from it even if you turn it into stew.” the man laughed.
Zoro tilted his neck and with a swift motion he used his long leg to kick the man, making him fall down to his knees, Zoro towered over his kneeling figure and looked at him with a cold glare, seeing the man tremble being face to face with the hilt of his three swords.
Zoro grabbed a fistful of the man’s hair and threw him stumbling backwards, some people began to watch and Chopper felt his world close in, he could hear the murmur of people wondering what he is and he tries to hide himself by covering himself with his hooves and you pushed against the gathering crowd scooping him up in your arms along with his shopping bags, he immediately hid his face on your neck.
When you succeeded in hiding Chopper from the eyes of the crowd, Zoro walked towards the man lying on the floor with a terrified look on his face as he tries to scoot away from the swordsman, but Zoro was quicker—he used the sole of his boots to pin the man in place.
“Now, you know what it feels like to be small. The next time you try to pick a fight with someone smaller than you, always remember. There’s a much bigger predator around, ready to gobble you up.”
Zoro didn’t waste any more second to harm the man further, the terrified look as the man crawled away from him was enough. The crowd lost interest at the way the fight ended, not witnessing a proper brawl given the other ran away with a shattered dignity and pride.
The swordsman made his way out of the dissipating crowd, it took him a while to work his way out and find his way back to where he even came in and after struggling to find the right exit, he found you and Chopper in a stall far from the commotion, the reindeer is not terrified, instead he’s looking at you with a worried look while you were trying to explain something.
“But Zoro is still there right? What if he gets lost?”
You tried to hold back your laugh, Chopper looked terrified earlier but he seemed to have gotten over it when he saw Zoro fought for him. You gently brush his fur, “Well why don’t you turn around?” you looked over Chopper’s shoulder, the reindeer followed your line of sight and saw Zoro unscathed.
“Zoro!” he calls his hooves up, the swordsman smirks at the enthusiastic way the reindeer reached out, when he was close enough to the two of you, he scoot close for Chopper to reach him and let the reindeer climb up to his shoulder from your arms.
You noticed the soft smile plastered in his lips but you said nothing letting Chopper hold onto him. “Thank you, Zoro. You’re so cool!” Chopper smiled and Zoro smugly looked at him, “I know. Come on, they’re all back on the ship.” He took the shopping bags from you and the three of you made your way to the Going Merry.
“What took you guys so long?!” Usopp asked.
Zoro helped you up the ship, his arms by your waist as he carried you straight up, you blushed at the sudden display of skinship in front of your crew but they seemed to be preoccupied with their own thing.
Sanji cooked a hearty meal for dinner and everyone gathered around sharing stories from your trip in the marketplace but instead of Usopp, the storyteller, someone else is doing all the talking.
Chopper immediately bragged about it to Nami and the other crew. Who listened to his every word, even Luffy did not come short in terms of reacting to his anecdotes. “And then I went to the old man’s stall to buy chamomile for tea! And then—I got the change for myself to buy something nice.” he said proudly.
“And then I bumped into this rude man! He wasn’t looking where he was going and he bumped into me! I wasn’t scared but Zoro still came to save me! The rude guy crawled away”
You watched him share his ‘adventures’ to the crew while you sat beside Zoro sipping the chamomile tea that Chopper bought by himself, “He handled it better than I expected.” you told him watching the reindeer become the center of attention for the night because of his stories.
Zoro placed a hand on your thigh taking your teacup to sip on it, a habit he got used to doing now. He looked at Chopper and hums, giving your teacup back to you, licking his lips. “Well, he’s grown…” Zoro whispers. “Quite fast don’t you think? A month ago he’s so timid he’d often run behind your legs to hide.” he said, amused but you easily caught the proud smile on his lips.
“Well, he seems to be learning from the best.” you whisper leaning on his shoulder, placing your hand over his that rests on your thigh.
Zoro smirks looking down at you, sneakily kissing your forehead while your crewmates are busy being entertained by Chopper.
“Wait, you said you bought something for yourself right?” Nami asked curiously.
Chopper suddenly looked shy looking down and the entire crew got curious even more, Sanji leaned in to encourage the reindeer, supported by Usopp who’s eager to know what Chopper buys from the money he got.
Zoro looked curious as well but you just smiled knowingly when Chopper climbs down the wooden chair, his tiny hooves tap around the wooden floor of the ship as he walks toward a small secured shopping bag.
The swordsman saw the meaningful smile you had and squeezed your hand, “What did he buy?” he asked and you just shrugged. “Dunno, why don’t you wait patiently and find out?” you said tapping his cheek so he’d look at Chopper rummaging through the shopping bag while the crew watched close.
“Oh, is it food?” Luffy asked.
Vivi laughs at Luffy’s train of thought shaking her head, “I highly doubt it.” she said looking at Chopper who has a shy smile as he faces the crew.
Chopper shifts his weight from foot to foot avoiding eye contact but after a while he finds the courage to meet their expectant gaze with a boyish grin, his cute tiny teeth out.
“I got this!”
He pulls out a toy wooden sword from the shopping bag, and the crew blinks at the way Chopper held it up proudly.
Zoro’s eyes widened as he saw the wooden sword, Chopper met his gaze and the little boy shyly smiled. “Well…I was gonna buy candies. But I saw this, and it’s cool right? Like Zoro…his swords are cool.” he waves the wooden sword decorated with charms and intricate wood carvings, he waves it proudly holding it up showing it to Zoro.
“So cool right?!” he exclaimed, letting the green haired swordsman see the sword properly and Zoro smirks.
“Good choice for your first purchase.” he says cooly, but as you look up at him you notice his cheeks slightly dusted with pink and you smiled patting Chopper’s head, you already knew what he bought given you saw him carefully choose it himself.
The crew congratulated Chopper for his first purchase, letting the reindeer boy brag about his new item. Though, the crew’s energy couldn’t keep up with him and one by one they made their way out of the kitchen to sleep leaving you and Zoro with a hyper Chopper.
“You know you can’t carry it around like that all the time.” Zoro told Chopper as the reindeer boy settled in your lap.
Chopper realized that he really can't carry it by his hand all the time. “I’ll put it in my backpack.” he said looking up at you to back him up but Zoro took the sword from his hand, the wooden sword looking smaller in his large hands.
“You need a sheath for it.” he explained simply and Chopper’s eyes sparkled in wonder, “Oh like yours? Then I’ll hang it on my waist as well?” he asked excitedly and Zoro chuckled, handing him his sword back.
Zoro hummed, “We might find some spare leather for that.” he said, yawning his head resting on top of yours and Chopper smiled leaning on the shared warmth that you both offered. “The chamomile might help you sleep, properly.” he whispers to Zoro, with the short time that he is around, he knows the man keeps watch consistently, it’s no wonder he couldn’t sleep properly, his body got used to his broken sleep cycle.
Chopper glanced up at you, realizing you had bought the chamomile for Zoro and he let out a small smile when he met your gaze. You put a finger in your lips hushing him softly when you see the realization in his eyes.
Chopper heard Zoro’s breathing even out and he let out a quiet chuckle, imitating your gesture and letting the swordsman sleep with his head on top of you, while Chopper sits on your lap holding his wooden sword as he moves around lying across your lap, and Zoro’s. He closed his eyes, his head on your lap while you gently brushed his fur as the three of you shared your solace while the Going Merry sails through the waves of the vast unknown.
NOTE: Upon writing this, I sort of realized this version of reader can be a good match for Zoro too…so I might write a Zoro spin off with Healer/Apothecary reader :>
Warnings: HEAVILY UNEDITED. Might edit/rewrite later :>

Chopper was rushing to carry the strangers who passed out in the snow outside. He shakes the snow off his fur and shouts as he sets down the strangers.
“Doctorine, YN! They’re all injured!”
You were busy storing herbs that you foraged with Chopper when you heard him call out desperately. You left whatever you were doing and hurried to get to where he is and you gasped.
There’s a skinny boy, a blonde man, and a girl with vibrant orange hair. Chopper managed to settle them down on the beds, but you knew that they needed treatment immediately, especially the orange head girl.
You touched her forehead, she’s burning up and you hissed at the hot sensation. You turn to Chopper worriedly, “She’s burning up. I’ll go get Doctorine, give them warm blankets, and prepare a warm bath for the boys.” you told Chopper, before you rushed across the room, running to find Doctorine in her room drinking booze.
“Auntie, we’ve got sick visitors. They probably came from all the way down. There’s three of them, we’ll have our hands full.”
Doctorine stood up, a bottle of booze still in her hands as you both made your way back to see the injured visitors.
“Sweetie, be a dear and tend to the blond. Chopper, warm up the skinny kid. I’ll take care of girly here.”
When Doctorine gave her orders you were quick on your feet, immediately tending to the blonde man, you used the towel soaked in warm water to wipe his cold body, his skin was so cold to the touch you had to soak the towel once more to the warm water basin that Chopper prepared.
“We’ve no idea how long they’ve been out in the snow.” you whispered, all three were showing signs of hypothermia, they probably climbed all the way up and you were honestly amazed how these three were able to survive the slippery rocks and the harsh cold.
It’s unheard of for people to climb all the way up here, given you and your Auntie were labeled as literal witches practicing black magic and witchcraft by the people below, and even Chopper won’t be safe if he went down there given the last time they see the talking reindeer they shot at him mercilessly. Judging from their clothing, they’re definitely not locals of Drum Island, also no local would dare to get up here so you know exactly they’re completely foreign to this frozen land.
You checked on the blonde man’s body for any wounds, grazes and such and he doesn’t have any. You continue to carefully wipe his body with a warm towel to slowly help him regulate his body temperature, he’s still unconscious but the moment the towel brushes the area where his ribs are his breathing hitches in his sleep, you frowned examining the area and noticed swelling and some bruising.
“This one’s got broken ribs.” you observed.
You rummaged through the rack nearby where herbs, and concoctions are placed. You looked through the bottles and dried herbs without wasting any time and your eyes landed on the comfrey plant you took a roll of bandage. You carefully crushed the comfrey in your hand as it turns to a rough paste, applying it on the bruised parts of his body.
You made sure every bruising is covered by the poultice, your delicate fingers gently brush against his skin, you could feel his warmth returning to normal in every brush of your fingertips.
The juice of the plant gets soaked by the roll of bandage and you carefully wrapped him in loose bandage to not restrict his breathing, still ensuring the comfrey is well wrapped and won’t fall off.
Kureha watched with a smirk, “Impressive, would’ve never thought of using comfrey. I would’ve poured an entire bottle of concoction in his mouth right off the bat. You’re as methodical as ever, Dear.” she winked as she tended to the orange head girl.
You smiled appreciatively at her comment, feeling giddy that your Aunt—despite your differences in approach when it comes to medicine are entirely different she recognizes your effort and your own methods.
Chopper stood beside you, looking up with his big doe eyes. “Is there anything else I can do to help?” he asked in his tiny voice.
You looked down at him with a comforting smile, Chopper has been doing good studying medicine and training with you and Doctorine but he still asks for you and Doctorine’s permission before doing anything else. You brushed a hand in his fury cheeks, “Can you grab the blanket I left nearby the fireplace earlier? It’s probably all warmed up now, carefully put them over our patient. I'll heat up more water to brew some tea once they wake up.” Chopper nods enthusiastically, running to get to the blankets and tend to the patients.
You smiled, letting him do it by himself, wanting to give him a sense of independence and confidence as a Doctor in the making. You exchanged a knowing look with Doctorine who’s also giving orders for Chopper to take over, you knew your Auntie’s way of showing care, despite her roughness and colorful vocabulary you know she has grown fond of the reindeer boy.

“This old witch tried to cook me in a soup and eat me!”
Luffy’s screaming filled the stone castle, Chopper was startled hiding away behind your legs holding onto the hem of your dress but his antlers were still visible. You reached your hand out to Chopper letting him hold onto you for comfort as he was startled by the loud skinny guy.
Nami sighed looking at you with an apologetic smile, “Sorry,” she murmured and turned to Luffy. “She’s not a witch, they’re not a witch, they're Doctors. No one’s gonna get eaten.” she clarified.
Sanji woke up to the loud noises, feeling groggy, his whole body aching, he tried to sit up but he clutched his sides feeling a sharp sting, he slowly stood up from the bed. He looked down seeing a bandage wrapped around his body.
He looked around him soaking in the interior of the place, it’s made of stone, there’s a fireplace nearby
He could smell herbs all over the place, even the bandage wrapped around him smells like herbs. His eyes landed on Luffy with a towel wrapped around his lower body.
“Luffy, why are you screaming?” Sanji’s eyes scanned the room, his eyes meeting yours and you let out a sweet smile, still hiding Chopper behind your legs.
You turned away from the blonde man and turned to Luffy who’s beside Nami, “You were all showing early signs of hypothermia, we’re not sure how long y’all have been out but estimating the distance below from up here you all needed to regulate your temperature.” you explained softly.
Doctrine stretches her neck looking at them boredly, “Dearest here, reset your ribs—blondie.” she informed Sanji pointing at you, the blonde cook followed where Doctorine’s finger was pointing at and he sees you trying to hide Chopper behind your legs, the reindeer boy holding onto the hem of your dress.
Your eyes met his and Sanji was mesmerized, your pinkish lips curled up into a polite smile. “It’s a good thing that your ribs weren’t severely broken. I would suggest a little extra care in your upper body to ensure proper healing.”You informed him, for some reason you feel heat spread on your cheeks.
Sanji let out a charming smile, “Very well, Madame. Thank you, I’m actually feeling good as new. Must be your charm and magic then?” he said smoothly.
Doctorine raised her brows at the exchange but turned to Luffy instead.
“Just to clear things up, I put you in warm water to prevent hypothermia.” Doctorine said, looking at bewildered Luffy one hand on her waist, the other holding her booze. She waved her hand dismissively at the patients. “I’ll bill all of you, later. Sweetie, take care of these kids. I’ll be up in my room.” she turns, heading out of the room still drinking her booze.
Sanji finally snapped out of his dazed look at you and turned to check on Nami worriedly, “Do you want to eat anything?” Nami nodded a small smile plastered on her lips.
“Actually, I could eat. I feel like I haven’t eaten in days.” she sighed feeling better but her stomach felt empty. She felt energized probably from the warm clothes and blanket but she’s still hungry, given she must’ve been out for a while and haven’t had a chance to eat anything.
Sanji hums, nodding, “Well yeah of course you haven’t.”
Luffy’s eyes lit up, “Me too!” he raised his hand, his stomach growling.
Sanji chuckled, his eyes turning on you. “Apologies, for the late introduction Ma’am. I’m Sanji and I’m our ship’s cook. Can I ask where is your kitchen? I’d like to cook something real quick, just something to warm us all up.” His eyes met yours and he almost backtracks, still taken aback by the beauty right in front of him, seeing you up close is wild, you look prettier up close.
“Chopper, can you show them where the kitchen is?” you looked down at Chopper gently brushing his fur to comfort him so he would stop hiding and as usual he relaxed in your touch and stopped hiding between your legs.
He walked ahead ready to guide Sanji to the kitchen but the cook was nailed to where he stood still looking at you, you blinked at him clearing your throat pointing to Chopper. “He’s gonna show you the way to our kitchen.” you told him, smiling awkwardly.
__________________________________________
“That’s why….Chopper is the way he is.” you smiled sadly, while eating the warm meal that Sanji cooked.
You and Doctorine just told them the story of how you both ended up taking in Chopper and the entire crew was enveloped by silence when they found out the tragedy that the reindeer boy faced.
“That’s why he was so protective of the flag.” Sanji whispered, wiping away the tears that formed at the corner of his eyes.
You cleared your throat standing up, “I’ll just check up on him. Doctorine, I’ll just bring him some soup.” you waved at Luffy, Nami and Sanji to excuse yourself heading out of the room to look for Chopper.
Sanji followed you with his gaze, he can recognize the hidden pain from your eyes as well, the distant look you have when Doctorine was talking about loss and death, about Wapol’s tyranny, you were gripping your bowl tight, so tight he thought it would break.
He recognized a hidden rage in your soft, gentle voice and delicate gaze. He took note of how your eyes darkened at the mention of Wapol, the clench in your jaw, and the tight purse of your lips. It was easy to pick up the anger from your expressions.
Doctorine noticed the cook’s gaze lingering on the door where you exit and she cleared her throat to snap the cook out of his own thoughts, she raised her brow. “Let her be. She dealt with loss herself too.” she told them simply.
“But it’s not my story to tell.” she added.

The warmth and comfort the crew found in the castle was soon shattered when Vivi arrived shivering from the extreme cold.
She was terrified the fear in her eyes was visible while you handed her a warmed up blanket and warm tea. Vivi looked at the crew, “He’s back. Wapol is back and he ate a Devil Fruit.” she said fearfully, her fingers trembling as she sipped on the tea.
There was a stunned silence in the room until Luffy declared his plan to fight Wapol.
Doctorine shook her head at the optimistic boy, watching him hype his crew for the upcoming battle but she has other priorities at this moment. Doctorine looked at you and Chopper, “Pack up quick, Chopper. We’ll take one of the secret passageways. And you, dearie—gather your supplies. We’re going down the mountain, back into hiding.” she ordered but you remained standing still with Chopper beside you looking up as if gathering courage just by looking at you.
“I’m not leaving, Aunt Kureha. I’m staying to help out.”
Doctorine turned to you, it’s her first time hearing such defiance from your voice, ever since she took you in after you became an orphan, you’ve always been a compliant one, you’ve had your own ways, yes, but you never do anything that completely goes against her wish.
When she heard you call her Aunt Kureha instead of Doctorine, she knew there’s no stopping you but that doesn’t mean she won’t do anything about it.
“Dear just in case you’ve forgotten it—you do remember that piece of shit is the reason why you’re stuck with me.”
You clenched your fist looking down, “I know, I fucking know. I saw it with my own eyes. And that’s another reason why I will stay. Until when will we hide? Until when will I run away from that monster? I’m no longer a child, Aunt Kureha.” You were so young when Wapol was getting rid of powerful clan heads to stay on top, your family was one of the biggest threats to his throne. He knew your father and mother’s influence, knew that the people of Drum Island will easily favor your family if they even come to think of starting an uprising against him.
But your father and mother had no interest in politics or power, with your family’s status they try to help and reach out to the oppressed people but Wapol sees it as defiance to his royalty and the next thing you knew you were watching your family be taken by royal guards for an execution.
Kureha, your father’s distant cousin took you in, staged your death by making you drink a concoction to stop your heart momentarily, making everyone believe they succeeded in ending your bloodline and hid you knowing that Wapol would have no hesitations of adding you to his body count if he ever finds out you survived. For Kureha, it was better to raise you as the witch's apprentice, sometimes isolation is power, being an oddball reduces the risk of your identity.
Chopper steps forward too, holding onto the hem of your dress. “I’m staying with Missus too, If there’s gonna be a battle, people are gonna get hurt. We have to stay and help them. Because that’s what a Doctor does.” he said bravely, meeting Doctorine’s intense gaze.
“Fine, since you’re both so grown up. I’ll leave you to it. Have fun dying.”
Kureha turned away to leave and she gave you one last glance before she made her way out to escape. She carried her booze as usual but as she turned her back to you and Chopper she shed a tear. You looked down at Chopper who tugged on the hem of your dress. “We’ll be fine right, Missus?” you nodded at him.
“Yes, Chopper. Go on, help them get Nami so we can transport her safely.”
He nods, rushing to follow Sanji to go get Nami while you stay with Luffy and Vivi trying to plan what to do if Wapol comes over.

“If a cannon won’t kill you, I have other weapons I can use.” Wapol prepares for a counterattack, laughing evilly as he looks at all of you.
The tyrant came back with a much terrifying power, he's no longer just a tyrant, his entire body is a weapon now after he ate the devil fruit.
You looked at him with cold eyes while Luffy prepared to fight back, you moved first, your speed surprising everyone in the room, you held onto your Kunai and with a swift spin of your entire body you threw it to Wapol.
“AHAHAHAHAHA! I recognize you now, kid! The daughter of the fallen Lord! Would you like to say hi to your dear mother and father?”
You landed on your feet steadily as the Kunai made contact with Wapol , grazing various parts of his body. He didn't seem to mind it but of course he doesn't know any better about your skills. It's better he underestimated you now.
You smirked coldly, “You know what makes a healer a good fighter?” you stepped forward, ignoring Chopper’s worried call to you, you went nearer to look at Wapol directly in his eyes.
Wapol looked at you insultingly, the arrogance still clear in his eyes. “Fine, let me indulge you for once before I kill you and your stupid friends.” He laughed holding onto his belly like a madman.
Sanji stepped forward to snatch you away from Wapol, if Luffy attacks he wants you out of the line of fire. But before he could reach his hand out to grab you, your laughter echoed in the room and even Wapol backtracks at the sound of that soulless laugh.
“We vowed to use our knowledge to heal but it's the very same that allows us to know how to ruin you at the same time.”
Wapol frowned, unable to comprehend your sentence, “Hah your little knives did nothing—” he stumbled back, there’s a loud hiss echoing at the stone walls, his eyes widened feeling a sharp pain travel in his body, his hand tried to cover his mouth but he was met with liquid and a sharp pain.
Sanji’s eyes widened seeing the metal in Wapol’s mouth melting, he looked at you with wide eyes. He didn’t even notice that you threw something with the kunai. Chopper watched you with a terrified look in his eyes, he’s never seen you this mad, nor cold, never, he knew you’ve always been capable of fighting but this was far from the casual training you’ll do before.
But he smiled despite that fear, he knew how hurt you were just as hurt as he was, and he's glad to see you stand up for yourself and for the memory of your loved ones that Wapol disgraced and tainted.
“W-what did you do…What…” Wapol asked, trying to reattach his fallen parts.
“I wouldn’t waste my kunai that recklessly, it’s a mere distraction to throw the vial of the Ironbane. Metal is tough but not invincible.”
You've spent your years learning medicine, but along with it is the knowledge of how powerful minerals and plants can be, living in full isolation with Kureha allowed you to dabble on things normal kids wouldn't take interest in. You knew that somehow Wapol would be back, and you vowed you wouldn't be the same helpless girl who watched your parents fall midtown.
For years, you developed medicines and concoctions, but at the very same time you've learned to make weapons, and poisons, extracted from poisonous plants, saps, venom and even minerals. You knew you needed every weapon you could gather in your arsenal once the monster of your past came knocking on your door and damn you were thankful he came back wielding a weapon you knew how to fight against.
Your Kunai were laced with paralytic properties that needed a little time to take effect but with that distraction you were able to throw a vial of Ironbane that is extremely corrosive. He's hurting from inside out that's for sure.
You step backwards watching him become more disoriented as the paralytic property of the poison from the Kunai takes effect and Luffy steps in preparing for the final attack with Sanji. You looked back at the two. “The temporary paralysis of the poison has a maximum effect for about two minutes! Hurry!” You called out, stepping back to give them a clear shot.
“Gum Gum…Air Assault!”
Upon making contact, Luffy was able to easily send Wapol flying out of the stained glass window. He cheered with his fist up as the tyrant was nowhere to be seen now, perhaps still flying out of the window to meet his fall.
Sanji yells, celebrating with Luffy but his eyes landed on you and he noticed the tears forming in your eyes, he quietly walked away from his crew and headed to you, “That was really…really amazing.” he complimented your skills, he had no idea that the hands dedicated to heal can also be capable of such feat.
He's in awe, from that display of bravery, courage and coldness when you look at Wapol but at the same time he prefers seeing you smile like this as if all your worry is gone.
“Thanks. God knows how many nights I spent dreaming how to get back at him for every atrocity he did.” you whispered, wiping your tears away.
Sanji smiled, placing a hand on your shoulder, “Well, you got him good. He deserves more than that but those pretty hands are way better without making contact with that piece of shit right?” he tried to lighten up the mood and you laughed.
“Right, that’s right. He’s filthy.” you remarked with a grimace.
“Really filthy, I mean he stinks and all that doesn’t he?” Sanji added and your laughter echoes in the cold stone wall.
Sanji sees the relief, he no longer sees the hidden rage in your eyes, it’s replaced by wonder as you look at the distance ahead, the broken stained glass where Wapol flew out.
You looked up at Sanji in appreciation, “Thank you…” you whispered, before turning around to his crew, looking at Luffy, Vivi, Chopper, and Nami.
“His debts have been way overdue. Thank you for letting us have our payback.”
Nami hums patting your back alongside Princess Vivi. “We owe you a lot too.” They said in unison giving you a tight hug and you felt the corner of your eyes heat up, tears threatening to fall as you wrapped your arms around them.
When Nami and Princess Vivi let you go, Chopper turned back to his small form and hugged your legs glad that you both survived. “We did it, Missus!” he cheers happily.
Luffy watched the entire thing unfold with a cheerful smile and when your gaze met he grins wider at you, charging himself towards you for a hug and you froze. “You’re so cool! I mean how did you do that? The melting and throwing and stuff?” he asked, holding your shoulders looking at you with so much amazement and amusement.
You just smile awkwardly when he pats your back repeatedly, ignoring Nami’s reminder that he should respect personal spaces and social decorum and all that. Luffy is not the type of person to mind such social contracts and perhaps that’s what made him feel safe to you, no hint of malice in the skinny boy, just complete amazement and eagerness.”
“You know what? You and Chopper better come with us!” Luffy proposed.
Higuruma struggled to go back to any normality after his participation in the culling games and being involved and tangled with the sorcery world.
He carries the weight of his past sins, by seeking justice for those wronged by the corrupted justice system he turns to the monster he was meant to fight. He became the judge, the jury, and the executioner.
At night whenever he falls asleep sometimes he could still see himself killing the prosecutor and the judge, he remembered seeing red, his vision narrowed, and all pent up frustrations from wrong convictions, and his ignored plea for justice for his clients—he took the matters in his own hand.
He came back to his flat after all the fiasco. His desk in his study was still full of papers from case files of clients he took.
He looked around the mess, all post it notes pinned in his corkboard, reminders, book tabs in penal codes, scribbled notes in his notepad, and various colors of highlighters—they remained at the same spot he left them.
He plops down his office chair. Should he deem himself lucky that his flat is still intact after all the chaos?
Or it's worse given this flat would remind him that he's no longer worthy to even practice law. No, not when he tainted the laws with his bare hand.
How can he go back to defend innocent people from the guilty ones when he has a sin he's guilty of as well?
Higuruma would spend his time cussing himself every night reliving all his failures, his sins, and guilts.
Rationally, he knew he can't keep it up, one way or another he's still a living and breathing human being he needs to stand up and face the world despite his shame and guilt.
His only comfort is knowing they don't know the things he'd done. His world was gray, as if all that happened sucked in the colors of his life and turned it into dull gray.
Slowly, things are going back to normal—at least for them, businesses are back, and streets cleaned up and he tried to function—that’s the term because living is implying he as moved on but no, he hasn’t atoned for his mistakes, his sins, he needs to carry the burden or he’s just another evil person, if he dismisses it then he\s admitting he doesn’t have much regard about human lives either.
On a lazy day, Higuruma went out to buy himself groceries at the nearby store. He has loads of groceries at home but forgot to buy a loaf of bread before. While he was busy contemplating which type of bread should he get he sensed a presence and picked up on a familiar scent.
“Oh, Higuruma-san! Hi!”
When he looked behind him, he saw her doe eyes, he would've described them as innocent eyes if he hadn't known the atrocities those pair of brown eyes have witnessed.
She's in casual wear pushing her cart as she waves at him.
Higuruma was unsure whether he should wave back—he tries to look back to how he met her, trying to define how he can even classify their relationship. He met her during the culling game, she's a sorcerer born from one of the powerful clans, he had seen her fight skillfully.
Her curse technique allows her to manipulate the perception of the sorcerers around her, she can stay in the room but be unseen—it’s like your nose your brain knows it's there but it doesn't notice it or focus on it.
Paired with her skillful use of cursed tools she managed to land a blow on Sukuna herself through her tactics and bravery.
Higuruma turns to face her, noticing her cart that seems to be full of groceries now. “It's been a while..” he bows slightly and she does the same.
“Well yeah, it's been kinda busy cleaning up and stuff. Plus you know…we're currently navigating the power vacuum left by the deaths of some strong sorcerers. It's like building society from scratch again.”
She glanced at his hands that are still holding a pack of bread in each, “The wheat bread is nice. At least for me…” she mumbles, tucking a stray hair behind her ear.
Hiruma noted how delicate her slender fingers seem to look like—at least when she’s not wielding a cursed tool.
“I’ll take the wheat bread then.” he says simply putting the other bread back to its shelf, he pointed at her nearly full cart, “Restocking?” he asked. He was never good at keeping conversations but for her he felt like he needed to try.
She chuckled, nodding, “For the kids, it’s the least I could do as one of the few adults left standing.” Her eyes glistened and she brushed it off with a deep sigh as if calming herself.
“Anyway, I’m going to the cashier, is that the only thing you’ll buy? I’ll have them beep it up with mine. Saves you time in the queue.”
Higuruma hands her the bread, and walks alongside her, heading to the cashier. “I should help you with your cart.” He gently takes the cart from her, pushing it himself while she stays beside him muttering a sweet thanks.
It is only then that she gets to observe how much he has changed from the last time she saw him. Naturally, during the culling games and all the fiasco he seemed more worked up, she vividly recalled his tight posture and his gaze that seemed to stare into the void.
She noted his posture, it wasn’t as tight as the last time, but there’s a lazy—tired slouch almost like physically holding himself to stand up is already a daunting task. She looks into his lazy eyes and as expected they seem to be there but too busy staring into the void.
Higuruma–despite being sucked deep in his self loathing thoughts couldn’t ignore the presence of the woman walking beside him, not when he could smell the soft scent of vanilla, he looked at her and was slightly taken aback when he met her examining gaze.
“Is there something on my face?” he asked.
She chuckled, covering her mouth, “No. I just realized it’s lunch time now. Do you have any plans after this? Maybe we can grab a bite together. But only if your time allows it.”
Higuruma looks at her sweet face, it’s almost impossible to believe this woman works in a deadly line of work if he hadn’t witnessed it but for some reason the chaos and guilt in his mind seems to ease up when he looks at that genuine smile.
“Sure. I’ve got a lot of time to kill.” he said, setting his eyes on the counter and helping her unload the items from the cart to be scanned by the cashier.
On some occasions, her hands would brush against his but he couldn’t flinch away despite the rough contrast of their skin, hers were soft despite having visible faded scars, he noted it could be a result from her attempts in hitting Sukuna way back, her badge of honor and bravery.
She insisted on paying for his loaf of bread, and as they walked out of the grocery store, he helped her out with the bags, loading it in her trunk. She turns to him, “I’m assuming you didn’t bring your car. Hop on.” she smiled and even opened the door for him, he almost chuckled at the irony, he should’ve been opening the car door for her but he said nothing about it and settled in watching her get into the driver’s seat herself.
Higuruma watches her drive through the traffic noting the occasional furrowing of her brows when someone would rudely overtake and cut in front of her, she would utter casual soft curses sometimes causing a small smile to paint in his lips.
As they arrived at the ramen place, Higuruma exited the car first wanting to open up the car door for her but she was quicker. He let out a quiet chuckle, right, he should’ve known it won’t work for her but he still put an effort to open the door for her at the restaurant.
He pulled out a chair for her when they came inside before he sat across from her.
She’s smiling sweetly as she looks at the menu in her hands, “What would you like, Higuruma-san?” she looks up meeting his lazy gaze.
“I personally think you’d be more into Shoyu Ramen.” she tilts her head observing him with those sparkly brown eyes.
Higurama leaned into his chair stopping himself from gaping his mouth. “You’re absolutely right.” he let out a small smile, “And I assume you’re more into Shio.” he told her softly and she giggled.
“Well that’s amazing, you nailed it. Should we order just that?”
Higuruma hums, calling onto the waiter giving their orders and handing his card despite her protests, he already had her drive for them, and she even paid for his bread, he needs to up his game.
As they wait for their order she breaks the silence, “How have you been, Higuruma-san?” she asked softly and he could tell she’s been meaning to ask that, he could tell from the way she looks at him.
“I’m alright…” he whispers. “I appreciate your concern.”
She pursed her lips, “I never thought I’d ever see you again. I got worried, I mean, I’ve no means to contact you, anyway.” She stares into his eyes, trying to see if she can comprehend the endless depths it has, hoping she can reach him out.
Before he could even respond their order arrived and she gave a small smile to the waiter. She looked at Higuruma, arranging their food, handing him his chopsticks, and he stood there watching her care for him with that innocent warm smile and he felt like colors just burst into his dull gray world.
His eyes scanned her entirety while she’s reaching out, her purple colored nails, her pink lips, and her yellow sundress makes him feel something warm in his chest, and when she sits back down settling in to start eating her own bowl of ramen she noticed his gaze.
“Higuruma-san? Your Ramen might get cold.”
He let out a silent chuckle, “Sorry, I just spaced out.” he began eating his own. He pondered whether he should pick up on what she said, what was it for her if they don’t meet again? He was never the nosy type, unless it’s for his cases he works hard to uncover the truth but this time, he worries about the truth he’s seeking.
However, when he sees her quietly eating, with that hint of disappointment and defeat in her eyes, he wants it gone, he needs it back to the vibrant brown sparkly eyes, pink lips curled in a smile, not the one pursued to stop herself from conversing.
But does he have what it takes? Can he take responsibility? Can he be selfish to reach back out to this woman to lighten up and paint his dull gray world? What if he just ends up painting her world gray?
The meals he used to have without her were bland, almost bitter, tainted by his self hatred and guilt but the Shoyu ramen’s flavors burst into his tongue just like the way colors burst into his life when he sees her again.
She finishes up her ramen, she feels like she overstepped, maybe the reason why he didn’t reach out nor made any efforts to stay was he didn’t want anything related to the jujutsu world, maybe he prefers her out of it.
She tidied up her side of the table.
“Thanks for the treat, Higuruma-san. Sorry for eating up your time.”
She bows her head, keeping it simple and formal before she walks out of the ramen place. She ignores the sting in her eyes, damn it, why is she even crying? She barely knew the man didn’t she? They fought alongside together but why is she expecting him back to her life when the war is over? Why did she insist? Why? He was far out of it, he obviously wants nothing to do with her.
She cussed when she realized his loaf of bread was still in her trunk, she wanted to leave it to him but how can she go back after all that stunt, she shook her head, whatever, maybe he can just buy another.
She was about to get inside her car when she felt strong hands grip her wrist spinning her around and she met the same dark eyes, but instead of seeing endless void, she could see her reflection in his eyes.
Higuruma’s chest was pounding from running to catch her, he let himself sit there to think if he should go after her, if he should reach out the way she did but he was scared, scared of tainting her colorful world with gray but goddammit he can’t let her walk away with that kind of finality, no. He needs to say it, he needs to tell her…
His lips were pursed, unable to make a sound, he stared into her brown sparkly eyes and he was stunned. He's holding her wrist now, he’s got it, she’s close to him, he just needs that one final push— more strength.
Higuruma cussed mentally, right there’s only one way to keep her, only one way to keep this new found color in his life.
He pulled her into his chest and he felt like he would explode right then and there, he buried his face in her neck inhaling the sweet vanilla. He felt her froze but she held onto his arms, her warm skin against his cold tired ones.
She buried her face in his chest, her tears streaming down her cheeks. She found comfort in his arms and he stroked her hair murmuring apologies for the silence for the past months.
“I didn’t want to drag you into my mess.” Higuruma gently pulled away, cupping her face to wipe her tears. “You know who I am, I told you. I can’t offer you much. I wouldn’t want you stuck in my own hell with me.” he whispers.
He could vividly remember the day they parted ways, the gentle kiss they shared when he finds her still alive after the fight, the way he held her close in his chest till she falls asleep, the one last press of his cold lips into her warm forehead when he decided he’ll walk away, the one last glance he took of her sleeping form, for months it was his only comfort at night.
She looks up at him, “What makes you think I don’t understand? Out of all people? I’m not looking for some fairytale. We’ve been through hell together from culling games to that fight with Sukuna and it was bearable because we were together.” She hit his chest lightly. She can’t believe he left because he thought he’s some fragile flower, she’s been burned, she’s been through the hell he was talking about, it was painful, the weight of deaths, she had exorcised cursed users herself, even if the term was not the same as killing, she knew the weight of having that blood in your hands.
“Kissing me like that and leaving…what are you? Some kind of player?”
Higuruma laughs for the first time in months, the genuine kind, he pulls her close inhaling her calming scent, “I’m sorry.” he kisses the top of her head combing her long hair.
“Can I go back into your life now?” he asked, cupping her face tilting it to meet his gaze, he brushed her rosy cheeks with his calloused thumb and she smiled up, “I never closed the door. You’ve always been here.” She bit her lip, blushing at the way he stares at her with such intensity.
Higuruma chuckled, brushing his thumb against her soft pink lips, his eyes meeting hers, he looked for any objections to paint in her eyes but her dilated pupils were enough of a verdict. All questions faded in his heart, he leaned down, capturing her lips.
He kissed her with all that longing and pent up emotions, it was more intense than the first kiss they shared, more hungry than he was before and she reciprocated with the same passion holding onto his tie pulling him closer.
When they parted to breathe, he was smiling, brushing her hair with his fingers.
“Well, we just sealed the deal. I’m not letting you go now. I gave you a chance to back out, now I’m all in.” he whispers and she just giggled leaning up to kiss him once more.
A Zoro x Reader One Piece Fanfiction (with Chopper!)
Note: I wrote this with the Live Action Adaptation in mind so I will follow the same structure that the live action did. This is heavily unedited.
Warnings: I want to focus on the reader and Zoro's developing connection. I really need to get this chapter done to move on to the parental dynamics even better. It's basically a filler chapter.

______
Zoro is not overly affectionate, he’s not the type to whisper sweet nothings in your ears, but he shows his love in his own way. He stays up late, wakes up every now and then to keep watch while the entire crew is fast asleep, he uses his physical prowess to take care and protect those who are dear to him.
Despite the short time that you know Zoro, you know how to read his mind—perhaps feel what the swordsman is thinking, the small furrows in his brows, his sighs, his gruff, and the small curve of his lips—you learned how to read it, and a part of you enjoys seeing all of him, it’s something uniquely his that he shares with you despite his guarded nature, you can see the heart behind the stoic face of a man whose hands is used to violence, but is capable of wrapping you in its warmth and that’s what you love the most about him.
You sip on your coffee, smiling at the thought of how lucky you are to manage to captivate his heart, and how lucky you are that he lets himself be vulnerable with you. You feel the refreshing morning breeze as the Going Merry nears the next island.
Zoro headed to the deck, just woken up from his short 3 hours sleep. He stretched his neck, his hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his sword tight but the moment he saw you at the deck sipping your coffee, he loosened his grip on his sword walking slowly towards you.
When he stood behind you, he wrapped his arms on your waist, his chin on your shoulder kissing the side of your cheeks and you felt your face heat up as you lean on his chest. Sometimes it’s still baffling to be held in his arms like this.
Zoro buried his nose on your neck, inhaling your scent, it’s what he needed to calm and soothe his nerves. In the harsh dangerous seas, he knows he needs to keep his guard up at all times, but whenever he holds you close like this, he calms down, your vanilla scent is enough to tell him that with you he doesn’t have to be guarded.
“Coffee?” you asked, breaking the silence.
Zoro spins you around to face him and without any words he dips his head down to kiss you quickly on your lips before taking the cup of coffee in your hand.
You blinked completely dumbfounded with your cheeks heating up as you watched him sip on the cup of coffee nonchalantly.
Zoro handed the cup of coffee back to you, his eyes scanning your face, noticing your rosy cheeks. His lips instantly curled up into a smirk, he reached out to brush your reddened cheeks. “Still not used to it?” he asked.
You smacked his arms with your free hand, “I’ll kick your nuts, stop smirking.” you hissed and Zoro chuckled, taking your wrist to pin it on your side making you completely defenseless. He leans down keeping your faces close together.
“Feisty as ever.” he smirks.
You rolled your eyes smirking up at him, “Oh you want to play this game, Roronoa Zoro?” you asked leaning even closer, your noses touching against each other while you both have smirks playing on your lips.
Zoro lets go of your wrist, moving his hand to your waist to pull you close. “You sure you won’t be the one in a blushing mess later on?” he teased and you laughed, placing the cup of coffee on the barrel beside you so you would have a free hand.
You placed your hand on his shoulder brushing up against his biceps, and when you felt his breathing hitched at the contact, you let the tip of your fingers travel up to his nape, you raked your fingers in his nape, his eyes closed at the sensation and you smirked, you know you got him good.
Zoro was savouring the electrifying sensation too much, his head falling down on your shoulder enjoying the borderline ticklish sensation of your touch.
He looked peaceful right then and there but since you wanted to get him back, you immediately stopped what you were doing once you saw him getting too comfortable.
Zoro’s head shot up, brows furrowed when your delicate fingers stopped. “So that’s how you’re gonna play now, huh?” You laughed pushing him off you gently and ran off while Zoro was quick to go after you around the deck.
Chopper just woke up, he heard giggling up on the deck. He slowly sat up rubbing his eyes and yawning, as he stretched his limbs before climbing down the bed to head out on the deck to see what it was all about.
His hooves made tapping noises on the wooden deck, Chopper tilted his head at the scene he saw before him.
You were in Zoro’s arms giggling as he caught you from behind. He looks at Zoro’s face, it’s the first time he sees the swordsman without his usual stoic expression, rather he stares at you with a soft gaze, a small smile in his lips as he holds you in his arms.
Your laughter died down when you noticed a fury figure in your peripheral vision heading towards you and Zoro, when you turned your head to your left, there was Chopper looking up at you and Zoro with such marvel and amusement.
“Good morning…” he raised one of his hooves to wave up at you with a smile that could melt your heart instantly.
Chopper has been far isolated from humans for a while, his only human companions were not the most sociable mentors, he only comprehends the limited social contract he observed from Dr. Hiriluk and Doctorine and both are isolated in their own way, so Chopper hasn’t had the chance to observe such interaction that he sees from you and Zoro.
“Are you two playing?” he asked. “Like the knife thingy between the fingers game they taught me?” His tiny voice was full of questions and wonder.
You almost laughed at the question but you gently untangle Zoro’s arms off you to crouch down at Chopper’s level. “Well, not exactly. You see, Chopper. That’s what we do to express our care and affection to someone, by keeping each other close….” you did your best to explain, you couldn’t find the right words to define what you have with Zoro actually and even so…you were afraid to put a name to it.
Zoro smirks at the way you pause to try the best words to explain, you’ve always been the one smooth with your words, the one who can easily know what to say in every situation, but this was a new side to you, the slight stutters, the way you chew your lip to try and find your words. It’s all endearing to look and marvel at.
“You know how you hold and hug the scarf she knitted for you? That’s how it is. You keep it close to protect it—to care for it—to love it.”
Zoro’s gaze was on you when he was explaining to Chopper, your eyes locked onto each other. His dark eyes darkened, his pupils dilated as he kept his gaze on your entirety, every word, he said without breaking eye contact.
It felt intense, almost burning, you had to look away first, feeling like wax left under the blazing heat of the sun. You turn to Chopper trying to see if he can understand you or Zoro’s analogy if you can even call it that.
Chopper hums, nodding his little head as he looks up at Zoro his eyes lit up in realization, “Like how I kept Dr. Hiriluk’s flag…” he whispers clutching his hooves to his chest, feeling a sharp sting on his chest.
Just then, he remembers a memory, how Dr. Hiriluk held him close, with so much warmth, with so much care. He stretched his hooves out reaching out to you despite his limits.
“I can’t wrap this around you though.” he observed.
You laughed at the innocence in his voice and scooted closer, opening your arms widely to hug him. “You don’t need to. Reaching out is enough, Chopper.” you whispered carrying him up to your arms.
Chopper pulled away from you gently and looked up at Zoro whose hand rested on your waist, “Zoro…” he whispered shyly, reaching his hooves out and Zoro scooped him up from your arms, settling him down on his shoulder.
Zoro pointed ahead where the next island is getting clearer as the Going Merry gets closer. “See, this island used to be far ahead, but now it’s closer, and closer until you can reach it.” he remarked.
“You can stay in the deck and just stare or find the courage to leap once we docked and find something worth keeping close for.”
Zoro glanced at you as he said it—you were his leap of fate, the island he deemed he wouldn’t dare explore to avoid the dangers of its unknown territory, but the night he held you in his arms, he sees the wonder, the light in your eyes, the beauty and joy you bring and it was all worth it.

Part 2 Here
_______
After defeating Wapol, Luffy and the crew successfully recruited Chopper as the crew Doctor.
As the Going Merry sails away from Drum Island, Chopper watches his home from the distance, still hugging the backpack that Doctorine packed for him, his tiny hooves clutched the backpack as he tearfully looks at the island slowly fading away.
You see his distress and stood beside him, before you could even speak to him, the dark clouds engulfing the Drum Island turns to pink, and snow starts to fall—only then the cold and pale white snowflakes weren't white, they're pink, falling down gracefully like petals of cherry blossoms.
You gasped at the realization, the stories of Dr. Hiruluk’s dream of curing the ailing hearts of his fellow citizens, his life work and mission to heal their country from the rot that Wapol had caused.
When you first arrived at Drum Island, the snow was biting cold—harsh even, but the pink snowflakes falling down on your skin wasn't stealing the warmth through your bones, instead it seeped through your skin with warmth travelling straight into your heart.
Dr. Hiriluk was right all along.
Chopper wails as he tries to catch the falling snow, remembering the man who took him in, the man whom he sees as his mentor and his father, the man who taught him to heal not just the physical ailments of a patient but their broken hearts too.
He cried clutching his bag, if only he was smart enough to look for the right cure, if he knew better in medicine perhaps…Dr. Hiriluk would see the fall of these pink snowflakes, perhaps his heart would've healed too.
You looked down at the tiny reindeer beside you, you didn't want to overstep, as far as what Doctorine said, Chopper is still mourning for Dr. Hiriluk in his own ways.
Chopper wept like a child, and the ship was filled with silence, calculating how to approach the situation.
In situations like this, Luffy is expected to step in and say the dumbest thing that comes to mind, unintentionally but it works well in diffusing tensions.
However, Chopper's grief is not something you can diffuse, this kid hasn't had any proper closure with the memory of the man whom he sees as his own father. And Chopper's tears are just proof of the legacy that Dr. Hiriluk left behind. He may have been gone but he's alive, his dream lives on through Chopper who became a Doctor like him.
Zoro watched your hesitation as you stood beside the weeping Chopper. He has heard of the poor reindeer’s stories, about Dr. Hiriluk and all that but Zoro took his time to watch you beside Chopper. He knew that look so well. The look you'd always have when you contemplate whether you should step in or not.
You've always been the kind of person who would walk into the path that others would avoid.
So, seeing you hesitate to comfort Chopper is actually a new thing for Zoro. He has only met you when you joined the crew but those times were enough for him to take note of your personality.
When you found out about Laboon's story, you shed a tear for the being, despite being swallowed by the creature along with the ship.
He steps forward standing on Chopper's other side, the little reindeer still cries as the ship slowly sails and the snow starts to fade.
Zoro looks down at the crying Chopper and puts him up gently placing him on his broad shoulder.Chopper made some cute gasping noises but held onto the side of Zoro’s neck.
You watched the interaction with a smile especially when Zoro stood closer to you, you placed a hand on Chopper's back gently brushing his fur.
“Welcome aboard, Chopper.” You whispered gently and Chopper looked at you with big doe eyes glistening.
“Thank you.” He whispered in his tiny voice and you smiled tiptoeing to pat his head through his gigantic hat.
The silence made you realize that the other crews have already gone in and left the three of you sightseeing as the Going Merry sails through the smooth sailing sea.
____
You headed to guide Chopper to the space he'll stay in, you managed to set up a tiny bed for the little reindeer.
Chopper's big eyes wandered around the room, “It's big.” He whispers his eyes full of innocence and wonder. His eyes were practically sparkling, he could finally claim something of his own.
You tucked him to bed with a smile. “Goodnight, Chopper.” You whispered gently. Covering him with a fluffy blanket.
You brushed your delicate fingers in Chopper's fur and he smiled up at you. Your touch brings warmth in his heart, the kind that reminds him of Dr. Hiriluk and a touch that reminds him how he has never experienced such care from his own family and own kind.
“Thank you, Miss YN.” he whispers, yawning and sleepy. His tired body gave in to exhaustion and drifted off to sleep.
_______
You couldn't sleep after tucking Chopper to bed so you went to the kitchen to have some tea and took a couple of balls of yarn that you had lying around your room.
You're planning on knitting a scarf for Chopper, you were originally planning to give him a knitted sweater but you realize it could get in the way when he transforms, he can easily use a scarf no matter what his size is.
Zoro walked into the kitchen when he saw the lights on, he sat beside you drinking the tea in front of you, his face unreadable.
You look up at him to complain about him drinking your tea but you decided to focus on what you were doing instead.
“Playing mom now huh?”
“Shut it, Zoro..” you blushed.
Zoro chuckled and looked at the beginning of the scarf that you're crafting, “Seems nice.” He told you. “He'll surely appreciate it.” he said sipping on your tea once more but you realize he's just working you up so you let him be.
Days with Chopper as an additional family member are surely good. The crew stopped by another island to pick up medicine supplies that Chopper would need for his infirmary.
Since YN is sociable and charming she's usually assigned to assist with shopping. She draws attention but not in a suspicious way, the kind that makes store owners lower the price because she smiles prettily.
She held Chopper's hand tightly as they made their way into the crowded shops. On her other hand was a bunch of supplies they needed.
On the other side walks alongside the two is Zoro with a bored look on his face.
YN pulled Chopper to the side where there's not much crowd, she crouched down on his level brushing his fur.
“Stay with Zoro for me will you? Stay put okay he has a terrible sense of direction. I just have to pick up one last thing on your list and we're good to go.”
When you left the two on their own, Chopper looked up at Zoro blinking. The green haired man looks down at him “To clear things up, I'm the one babysitting you.” he tells him and Chopper blinks, nodding quietly.
As time passes by Chopper grows impatient too, he's starting to walk in circles and Zoro is just as impatient he clicks his tongue and starts walking off looking at Chopper “Heh. If I stay put for another minute I'm growing roots.” He grumbled.
“But Miss YN said—”
“Hush up, fur boy.”
Zoro stops by in front of a stall while Chopper follows closely behind. They're selling sweets, so he bought some and handed it to Chopper. The latter happily took it from his hands munching on the sweets, he followed Zoro closely behind who’s looking at the other stalls that they pass by, he struggles to keep up with his pacing given how tiny he is.
Zoro looks behind him, seeing Chopper still eating the sweets as he tries to keep up. Zoro stopped in his tracks and without a word, he picked up Chopper and placed him on his shoulder.
You were carrying a bunch of supplies walking along The Sun Island, you spotted Sanji buying food supplies with Luffy and you just waved at them, you needed to hurry up and meet up with Zoro and Chopper once again given how impatient Zoro can be.
When you went to the last place where you left them you held your breath, Zoro and Chopper weren’t there and you cussed, Zoro is the worst when it comes to directions, worst case scenario he could easily lose sight of poor Chopper.
You look around frantically and see a commotion nearby, they seem to be watching some parade of the locals, with people wearing vibrant yellow costumes with sun illustrations.
It was a mesmerizing parade, complementing the island’s naturally orange sand. You made your way through the crowd still looking for any green haired muscular man or a sight of your new furry friend.
It was until you heard some giggles nearby, a giggle you knew instantly despite getting to know about it for just a little while. You know there’s no mistaking it, you turn around and see Chopper watching the parade clapping his hands while he sat on Zoro’s broad shoulder, the swordsman, as usual has a bored look on his face, his free hand holds onto his swords, always ready to unsheathe it if anything happens.
You made your way to where they were and smacked Zoro’s arms. “I told you to stay where you were!” you glared and Zoro looked down at you with the same bored look and took the shopping bags you were carrying.
“It’s the kid’s first island stop, let him soak it in.” he whispered looking up at Chopper, sitting on his shoulder completely mesmerized by the parade and didn’t even notice your arrival.
When the loud music and parade came to a halt, Chopper clapped happily, his eyes travelling down and gasping when he saw you looking up at him. He gasped, holding onto the side of Zoro’s head as if hiding, you laughed, realizing Chopper fails to understand he’s always hiding the wrong way, you tiptoed to pinch his cheeks.
“I-I’m sorry, Miss YN! Mr. Zoro said—”
You cut him off handing him a lollipop you bought from one of the merchants around the parade. “It’s fine, did you have fun?” you asked him with a smile as you watched him hold the lollipop close to his chest.
“Yeah, I did! They were dancing around! And—And it’s warm here and there’s a lot of colors and foods! It’s so different from Drum Island.” he exclaimed his voice full of glee and you felt that warmth seep through your heart just by watching him be cheerful.
Your gaze landed on Zoro who’s staring at you with an unreadable expression, you frown tilting your head up to look at him. “Why?” you asked.
Zoro looks away, still carrying the supplies you bought. “Let’s go.” he said in his raspy voice and you just quietly weirded out but you’ve always known Zoro has moments of spacing out so you disregarded it.
You walked side by side while Chopper talked about the parade they watched, you just listened to his stories, a smile plastered on your lips.
Zoro looks at you through his peripheral view, admiring the sparkle in your eyes, and the softness of your voice and gentleness of your gaze when you talk to Chopper.
He could still remember the first time you looked at him that way, after his fight with Mihawk, when he was unconscious, you stayed by his side until he woke up.
A small smile plastered on his lips as he remembers how your delicate fingers cupped his face to check him when he woke up, your frantic worried voice, he remembers it all vividly and he felt a warmth seep through his heart as he remembers you fondly.
The three of you walked up to the shore where the Going Merry awaits, Zoro carefully helped you up the ship, while you carried Chopper in your arms.
Your friends await at the ship, Luffy is waving with Vivi beside him, Nami is calling Sanji out to start dinner, Usopp is looking at the new supplies he bought for his new projects.
Every straw hat crew is an oddball of some sort, in many ways, but in the Going Merry, all of you belong and fit like a puzzle piece.
________
You helped Chopper in setting up the infirmary, helped him put labels on the medicines, and herbs.
While you were sorting out the supplies you bought for his infirmary, you watched him in the corner of your eye turning this very space as his own, you let him do what he wants and occasionally steps in if he needs assistance but you let him take the reins.
“Hehe! It's nicer now isn't it Miss YN?!” he exclaimed, skipping around the infirmary obviously proud of his work.
You smiled, looking around at the room he turned into his own. This space used to be cold and empty, but it seemed vibrant with Chopper hopping around and climbing up the chair to reach for the supplies he set up in his cabinet, he's meticulously checking if you put the proper labels as he taught you and he checked on the bed he set up for himself. His tiny hooves on his waist as he admires his work proudly.
The room is not repainted nor heavily remodeled, but the entire space seems to be brighter now and you realized it's because of the bubbly furry friend you've got in front of you.
Your eyes landed on the stethoscope on the table, you carefully picked it up and made your way to the delighted Chopper still busy admiring his “remodelling job”.
Chopper looked up and blinked when you put the stethoscope on him, gently pinching his cheeks—a habit he realizes you seem to like ever since you've met him in Drum Island.
He looks up at you with his big innocent eyes glistening, he's never seen such tender care in one's eyes other than the mentors he had grown to treat as his very own father and mother figure.
Your touch has always been delicate and gentle, almost as if your touch were as light as feathers.
Chopper started tearing up and you looked at him worriedly, “Hey, hey,” you called out softly cupping his small face in your hands. “What's wrong? Do you miss Doctorine? What's the matter?” You asked your voice as gentle as the soft blanket that envelops Chopper with warmth every night.
“N-no, Sorry..”he mumbles looking up at you as your thumb wipes his tears away.
“Thank you, Miss YN. For everything…” he whispers sniffling and you smile brushing his soft fur.
“There's nothing to thank me for, Chopper. And like I've said, just call me YN.” You reminded him softly.
You watch his doe eyes dilated with wonder and glee, he nods at you whispering your name cutely and giggling.
You remembered the scarf you knitted for him and reached out for your bag, you gently took the scarf you knitted and wrapped it around his tiny body.
“I was originally planning on knitting a sweater given how unpredictable weathers are in our route but I realize you have different forms and it might restrict your movement.” You told him to fix the scarf properly just enough for his mouth to be out.
Chopper hugs the scarf around his neck, he could feel the warmth he's been seeking for after years of cold winter, despite his thick fur coat, his existence has a cold void that's been wanting to be filled and you've been igniting the fire to bring warmth in his cold days.
“Thank you!” He exclaimed teary eyed.
You smiled giggling at his cute expressions, “Always welcome, Chopper.” You whispered and patted his head.
For a while you helped him organize his infirmary and helped him tidy things up.
Once he's well satisfied with the work done, you let him take a breather by admiring his work.
You indulged him for a bit before helping Chopper up in his bed, he seems tired and for someone who spent most his life in a restricted place, he needs some adjustments to get used to the constant motion of the ship.
“Goodnight Chopper.”
Chopper smiled up at you hugging the scarf you knitted for him close to his heart as his eyes closed while he drifted off to sleep.
_____
The next day while the entire crew are still asleep you went out to admire the sunrise on the deck. You stood at the figurehead and Zoro came from the other side of the deck, he stood beside you.
“I heard the Doctor loved his place.”
You smiled sipping your coffee looking at the green haired male and giving him your cup, knowing he probably needed one.
“How long did you sleep?” you asked, watching him take a sip on your cup.
Zoro let the strong taste of brewed coffee roll in his tongue before he answered, “Around 3 hours, I wake up every now and then to make sure no more assassins would get through.” He whispered his grip in his sword tightening.
He handed your coffee back, his eyes lingering at the way you look in the morning, your hair tied up with loose strands framing your face, the sunlight reflecting on your eyes.
“You could've taken turns with the other guys or with us too.” You mumble. You've always known how Zoro takes his role seriously as the sole protector but he does spread himself thin every now and then.
Before Zoro could even protest that he doesn't need such arrangements he heard tappings on the deck he looked down from where they stood beside the figurehead and he saw the hat and antlers peeking out.
“Oho! Sunrise!” Chopper exclaimed seeing the sky lit up.
You and Zoro made your way down seeing Chopper trying to climb to a higher place to see the sunrise, his tiny hooves desperately clinging onto the surface, before you could even take a step forward, Zoro made his way to the small boy and carried him up his shoulder.
“WAAAHH! So pretty! You see this every morning?! I love being a pirate doctor!” He exclaimed hooves up in the air enjoying the morning breeze that rolls with the gentle waves that carries the Going Merry.
Chopper looked at the serious looking Zoro snd blink, “Thank you, Zoro!” He said, clinging onto the side of Zoro's neck, holding on tight.
You smiled at the way Chopper held onto Zoro, the latter just didn't mind and let him be. You made your way beside them and Chopper greeted you.
“Good morning, Miss YN! oh I mean YN…” he corrected himself and you giggled at his cute gasp.
“It's okay if you won't get used to calling me that. I don't mind.” you smiled, pinching his cheeks.
You hooked an arm on Zoro's free arm and leaned on his shoulder, admiring the radiant colors of sunrise.
Zoro looked down at you with a small smile painted on his lips as he let you be while he held Chopper.
Chopper is still in awe of the sunrise, his mouth gaped open and his eyes sparkling.
He observed the two people surrounding him today, when he thinks about family, the ones he originally knew outcasted him, the other two he came to know,—one was taken from him by fate, the other he had to leave to explore and reach his own dreams.
He felt accepted, loved and protected. Every time Zoro held him up, Chopper knew the big green haired man would never let him fall nor get hurt and with you standing next to him and Zoro, Chopper knows you have his back, that when the nights are cold he can hug the scarf you gave him, and when he gets scared at night he knows you'll drop by to tuck him in.
He smiled watching the rising sun shine on them, and at that moment, Chopper finally felt like he belonged, not pitied, but accepted as a whole.
_________
Chopper learned to settle down in the Going Merry; he spends his time studying in the infirmary, making sure that if anyone gets sick or injured his skills would be enough to tend to his crew mates.
He's humming happily wearing his stethoscope as he looks at the medicinal herbs he has. He's listing down the supplies making sure they have enough.
Meanwhile, you went down to call Chopper so he could have dinner. You didn't come in immediately and watch him through the glass window and smiled to yourself seeing how confident he seemed in his own space.
You knocked twice to announce your presence and Chopper looked over his shoulder meeting your gaze and smiling as he waved at you.
“YN!” he says happily climbing down his chair to open the door for you, he waves his tiny hooves at you and you waved back with a smile.
You looked at what he was doing before crouching down to his eye level, “Are you busy, Doctor? Sanji just finished cooking dinner, we need to hurry up before Luffy annihilates all of the food.” You said with feign seriousness, but Chopper has witnessed that Luffy is easily capable of such a feat and hopped into your arms.
“Nah uh, let's eat YN! We can't starve!” he said, holding onto your arms and leaning on your chest as you made your way to the kitchen carrying him all the way there.
Zoro awaits at the table, saving a spot for you and Chopper. When he meets your gaze across the room he simply glances at the empty spots beside him, implying his invitation.
You gently set Chopper down between you and Zoro looking at the other Straw Hats crew gobbling up the food that Sanji cooked.
Luffy is already done eating an entire plate on his own, he occasionally steals some from a clueless Ussop's plate.
The smell of perfectly grilled fish fills the room, Chopper looks down on his plate, eyes sparkling. “Sanji, it smells so good!” He sniffed his food, his blue nose almost diving first into the plate. Zoro shakes his head with a quiet chuckle at his childlike wonder and innocence.
After dinner, you walked Chopper back to the infirmary.
Chopper sat on his bed and invited you to sit down beside him and you did, looking down at him softly.
“You want bed time stories?” You asked with a smile.
It's been a habit of yours to talk about some random stories before Chopper gets to bed when he was new to the Going Merry. It helped him ease up his anxiety in the new place.
“Yeah, tell me about cool stuff.” He said lying down, you tucked him in brushing his fur.
“Well I'll tell you the cool stuff Zoro did at Cactus Island.”
Chopper's eyes widened in anticipation, his doe eyes sparkling. He hasn't seen Zoro in action but he knows he is cool whenever he watches the swordsman train with three swords.
You began your story talking about how you all ended up there, and how you all found out that the whole island is a hoax.
“So, apparently it was an island of assassins specifically from Baroque Works. Zoro fought 100 foes in the bar. He used his swords every turn and every kick he knocked someone down.”
Chopper gasped audibly, the sheer amount of shock and wonder written all over his cute face. “100…wow. Zoro is cool!” He exclaimed.
You kept going about the fights and Chopper as usual is the best reactor to a storyteller. It wasn't long till his eyelids get heavy and he gave in to the pull of sleep before you could even finish the story.
You stopped midway speech brushed his fur with your delicate hands and fixed his blanket before standing up to leave.
When you got out of Chopper's infirmary, you gasped seeing Zoro waiting outside the door. His eyes were closed as he leaned on the wall.
Your eyes widened, your mind thinking whether he heard you telling stories about him to Chopper. You bit your lip trying to physically stop the heat to travel to your cheeks.
Zoro opened his eyes, gaze meeting yours and he smirks teasingly.
“Didn't know you think I'm that cool.”
You cussed mentally but rolled your eyes at him exasperatingly. “Oh please, I had to exaggerate things up a bit so Chopper won't get bored.” You snickered walking past him and heading out to the deck feeling your cheeks heat up. Maybe once you're out in the cold of the sea breeze out there you won't get so worked up.
Zoro follows closely behind, still mumbling about how you painted him as a hero with a smug look on his face. He smirked as he cornered you in the figurehead of the Going Merry he grip the hilt of his swords out of habit, his muscular built loom over your smaller figure.
Zoro looked down at you, let go of his sword finally and reached his hand out to brush his calloused thumb gently on your cheeks.
“Seems like Chopper ain't the only one who loves my adventures.” He smirks.
You almost froze at the bold move and attempted to slap his hand away and Zoro caught it smoothly holding your wrist down to your side.
Zoro studied your face, the heavy breathing, the lip biting, and those rosy cheeks. He's the kind of man who may get lost even in a straight direction but he's not naive to such reactions.
He held your wrist gently yet firmly to your side and stepped closer till he could practically share the same breath with you.
Your brain is malfunctioning, this is not his usual teasing to gas himself up, this is something else he's never done this to Nami, and you bit your lip trying to scheme how to get out of this situation but you're nailed at where you stood with your heart beating erratically you're afraid he could hear it from this distance.
“It's crazy, I don't know which is louder; my heart or yours.” He whispers huskily.
You met his gaze looking up and noticed the subtle deep breaths he takes to regulate his own breathing and you gulped.
“You know, the sea is vast, the waves are harsh, and the path ahead is thorny. And we don't know what tomorrow will bring, what kind of monsters we'll see, or what kind of trouble we'll get into.” Zoro trails off letting go of your wrist brushing a strand of your hair and tucking it behind your ear.
“Shit.” He whispers, “I forgot what I was supposed to say next.” He groaned.
Zoro utters a few string of curses before he looks back up again, “Fuck it—look, why don't we try…” he let out a defeated sigh, letting his head drop on your shoulder his forehead pressed on the side of your neck breathing in your vanilla scent that gets tangled up with the smell of the sea.
You felt your knees weakening at that point, your hand holding onto his biceps for support and you felt Zoro chuckled against your skin.
“I'm not good at all of these. But goddammit, can we stop pretending we don't feel anything?”
He gently pulled away to look at your expressions still letting you hold onto him for support.
You avoided his gaze. You knew what he was talking about, all those late night talks, the shared cup of coffee or tea, the frantic look to search for one another whenever trouble is up ahead.
It's been months, you have no idea when it even started. But you and Zoro have created a bond you believe won't be classified as plain crew mates aboard a ship.
“But what if—”
Zoro cupped your face, cutting your hesitations off. “We can deal with all that may happen when we get there. But tonight…can't it just be about what we feel here and now?” He nipped your chin between his fingers.
You let out a soft chuckle, “So eager aren't we?” You finally found your footing, tilting your head to start firing back at him and Zoro's gaze landed on the smirk playing on your lips.
“With those lips looking like that of course I would—so…”
He gulped his eyes silently asking for one last sign of agreement or disagreement if there's any before he could lean down.
However, Zoro didn't expect you'll grip the hem of his shirt to pull him down to meet him halfway.
When his lips crash against yours his hand finds its way on your waist pulling you closer, his free hand cupping the back of your nape gently brushing as he releases months of his pent up longing to hold you close.
He only pulled away to let you both catch your breath, he's smirking as he looks down at you biting his own lip.
“Well I'll be damned. You have me wrapped around your delicate fingers, woman.”
You laughed, biting your lip hitting his broad chest. “Since when did you become a suave talker?” You raised your brows.
Zoro shrugged, pulling you closer. “Well, that's just the way I am.” He smirked, leaning down for another quick kiss.
It had you giggling in his arms as you wrapped your arms around his torso, he pulled you closer instinctively as the cold breeze of the sea engulfs you both.
Zoro admires your face from upclose, his calloused thumb brushing on your cheek, his eyes tracing every facial feature, and he couldn't help but lean down once more for another kiss.
You melt into his touch, his touch igniting a fire within you enough to battle the cold sea wind as you hold onto him.
You both made a paradise for yourselves at that moment just the two of you wrapped in each other's arms in the middle of the cold windy night but the two of you pulled away from the kiss upon hearing a soft cry nearby.
“YN?! Zoro?!”
Chopper's hooves tap around the deck as he sobs, he actively tries to wipe his own tears but his sight gets blurry even more from tears.
“I had a bad dream, where are you?” He cries calling out and searching, the scarf you knitted for him wrapped around his neck to keep him warm.
You gently pushed Zoro off of you and headed down to meet Chopper, when he spotted you, the boy wailed like a lost child jumping into your arms as he cried. You carried him in your arms cradling him close to your chest sharing your warmth to him
“It's scary, I couldn't find you both. The abominable snowman was there, it was gonna take me.” Chopper sniffles holding onto you.
Zoro appeared behind you patting Chopper’s back. “Seems like you don't know me, kid. No abominable snowman would be strong enough to defeat me. So, your bad dream will always be just a bad dream.” He whispers, his voice husky his hands on your waist, watching Chopper bury his face on your neck.
Chopper calmed down from your comfort and looked up at Zoro, “Are you gonna defeat it like you fought 100 foes?” He sniffled.
Zoro smirks. “Damn right I would.” He answered smugly, “So, keep your head up, kid. As long as I stand—we stand no one's gonna get to you. Right YN?” he turned to you and you nodded with a smile looking down at Chopper in your arms.
“No worries about the abominable snowman, Chopper. You'll be fine.” You whispered gently, wiping his tears away.
When Chopper calmed down from his bad dream, you and Zoro made your way to the infirmary to tuck him in.
Zoro crossed his arms over his chest, watching you sit on the edge of the bed, covering Chopper up with his warm blanket brushing his fur gently, “Sleep tight kid, we're here to keep watch.” Zoro whispers assuringly.
“You're so cool, Zoro.” Chopper whispers sleepily, the adrenaline from his fear in his bad dream starts to wear off and he looks up at you.
“You're cool too, YN…” he yawns, his eyelids getting heavy as you keep on brushing his fur, he whispers slurry goodnights before drifting off to sleep.
You kissed Chopper’s forehead gently, standing up carefully to not make any sounds. You looked behind and saw Zoro with a small smile on his lips.
Zoro pulled you close to him kissing your forehead as you both watched Chopper's breathing even out. You hold onto Zoro's big arms around your waist as he hugs you from behind.

Considering the canon, Oikawa can really come short as a boyfriend. Just like what Iwaizumi said, Oikawa will forever be chasing volleyball, and he'll never be satisfied. That's just his life, volleyball, he will rise higher and higher and higher.
Taking that into consideration, Oikawa is less likely to find a soulmate or a true love during high school, because first, he's a big of a flirt, he loves the attention from fangirls, he's always putting volleyball on top of everything else and it's canon his high school girlfriend broke up with him because of this.
To me, there's two kinds of girls he can fall in love with. First, if he meets a girl as equally passionate and hardworking it may work, as weird as it may sound, I think Oikawa is likely to be attracted to someone with a similar personality as his. The cons? The relationship may not progress considering both would be too focused in their own careers, it could even end up being toxic because if you match fire with fire you get a wildfire. Because they'd both be feeding their obsession to strive for higher meaning, it could push them more or beyond their limits.
The second type, which I think is the perfect match, needs a complete opposite lover. Now, it's cliche the trope of opposites do attract has been all over literary selections and such for a long time but hear me out, it stays and endure for all this time because it ACTUALLY WORKS.
The reason why a happy-go-lucky girl would be a perfect match is because Oikawa Toru deserves and needs to slow down sometimes. Not in a sense that he'll give up volleyball but just enough for him to have a breather, enough for him to stay back for a while on the bleachers and see the perspective while he's staying put, not while he's all over the court.
He needs a new perspective, a new philosophy that may be entirely different from his own.
Oikawa was tidying up his stuff, preparing to go home after today's match. It was tiring, especially because he had to stay around for interviews after their victory, he bid goodbye to his teammates grabbing his gym bag given by one of his endorsements. He headed out to the parking lot, shoving his gym bag at the backseat before he settled at the driver's seat.
The drive back to his flat was quiet by the time he gets inside his condo unit, it's already evening his entire body is in pain, they had long rallies during the match earlier and he's completely knackered, he took a quick shower, dried his hair put on some new clothes and lie down.
He wanted to sleep immediately. That was until his phone beeps beside him, he took a quick glance and Matias’ name popped up, he sent him a text message.
From: Matias
Oikawa, you know our victory party at the bar at the beachside right? Come on loosen up, we deserve this break. Drinks are waiting! Lots of ladies here and some potential sponsors, we need our star player.
He chuckled, well that's a request he couldn't resist. He wasn't planning to attend the victory party but he realizes it's fine to loosen up for a while after today's intense match. He quickly dressed up for the occasion, meticulously fixing his brown hair in the mirror before he headed out to the party.
He was welcomed by his teammates upon his arrival. After an exchange of greetings and congratulatory messages he headed to the bar, ordering a glass of non alcoholic drink, given he's gonna drive back home by himself.
Matias sat beside him chugging on a beer. “There's a hotel nearby where we're staying overnight. You should crash in our room so you can let loose without worrying about driving home."He hands him a bottle of cold beer and Oikawa sighed, chugging his non alcoholic beverage to pop the bottle open.
He rarely drinks, he's not a heavy drinker but not a lightweight just at the moderate level of tolerance.
Matias chuckled at his reaction, “You should join us to play a little bit of billiards. Come on, we gotta savor the free time before we get beaten up by hours of training.” Oikawa followed, still holding the beer in his hand.
The music booms, locals and foreigners dancing on the makeshift dance floor that lits up.
Oikawa and Matias made their way out of the crowd to walk towards the billiard station nearby. It's not as noisy there with just a handful of locals and some tourists playing around an area occupied by Oikawa's teammates waving at them to come over.
José grins widely as they approach. “Amigos! Well we've been challenged. We met a bunch of interesting gals playing at the area next to ours and they found out we're volleyball players. They're asking for a friendly beach volleyball match? Are y'all up?” The team roars, rowdy, and some are tipsy all are up for a challenge.
Jose placed an arm around Oikawa, “As usual you're the setter, buddy. Come on.” Jose drags Oikawa and Matias to the lit up area where a volleyball net was set up, of course it's not the kind you'll see in official professional matches but it serves the purpose so it should be fine enough.
At the other side of the net awaits a group of girls in swimwears they're holding a volleyball playing with each other and giggling around upon noticing their arrival. The girls stopped and waved at them.
Oikawa—like a second nature to him, let his eyes examine the group of friends and to be honest all of them are pretty and can even pass up as models. However one of them really stands out.
She's focused on her camera meticulously fixing and stabilizing the tripod in the unsteady sand. Her brows meet whenever she tries to straighten it up; her plump pink lips form a cute pout. It's like a child struggling with building blocks.
Her brown hair dances with the wind, matching the tone of the waves crashing on the shore, her eyes focused on the task at hand.
Oikawa couldn't help but smile but his eyes widened when her eyes met his. He looked away quickly damn, she might think of him as some freak even if he tries to listen to Jose or Matias chatting by his side he's busy watching her reaction in his peripheral vision.
She just finished her task and went back beside her friends who are all chatting up with Jose and Matias.
The blonde girl named Kelly, as he remembers it tugs on the arm of the beautiful brunette. “This is our friend, a great photographer and she just moved in here. She's currently enjoying the Argentinian view as her subject. She won't play with us though. She just wants to take a picture. Is that okay? Or you guys have some contracts and sponsorships that can give you trouble for being photographed?” Kelly wraps an arm around the brunette pulling her close to be included in the loud circle.
“It's all fine! Really we're not huge celebrities! Come on, let's start the match?”
While the group scatters around the sandy beach to go to their formation, Oikawa's eyes linger on the photographer in the sidelines. He was kinda bummed that Matias didn't bother to ask for her name nor introduced themselves to her, damn, that's really rude but on the other hand she seems uninterested anyways.
As the friendly match began, Oikawa tried to play lightly, after all this should be a part of the victory party and he didn't want to spend too much energy.
Oikawa still finds his eyes wandering around, unconsciously trying to get a glimpse of that brunette.
The match stretched into its third set, his other teammates arrived to join the fun and Oikawa found the perfect way to tag out and rest on the sidelines, as the new batch of men arrived to play the game he went to the sides being a spectator of the match another thing he enjoys given he can analyse the team play properly from the sidelines.
He heard a click of a shutter beside him and his senses were overloaded with the amount of stimuli he had to process.
He could smell the scent of vanilla tangled with the a gentle touch of lavender, his eyes landed down to the woman standing beside him
“Oh hi…” he breathed out, he had to physically stop himself from breathing more of her scent in.
She looked up, taking her eyes off her camera lens and smiled at him. “Hi.” She says simply before going back to capture more photos of the match.
“I’m Oikawa Toru. We haven't been properly introduced.”
“Just call me Sunny.” she says not looking away from her subject.
Oikawa observed closely. She's captivating, it's fascinating how she seems so focused at her task, he swears he could almost see fire blaring up in her dark eyes as she focuses on taking pictures.
It's a fire that seems so familiar to him. It's so familiar he could practically feel the warmth of that fire as she watches her.
Every move she does gracefully, every angle, she's doing it with intense focus but the curve of her lips says she's enjoying herself.
“Maybe I should lend you my camera so you can take a picture. It'll last longer.” She mumbles and he realized she caught him watching her.
She straightened her posture, her eyes off the camera and met him, he blinked in surprise when he realized she just called him out.
He mentally cussed, the tip of his ears red from embarrassment. “Sorry, I was just admiring your dedication.” He says quietly.
Sunny giggled. “You're far from the suave guy I've watched from your interview.” She says casually taking her camera off the tripod to hang it around her neck facing him fully.
Oikawa had to double take, did she just say she watched his interview?
“I’m sorry did I hear it quickly? You watched my interview?”
“My old man's crazy about volleyball and is always updated about the usual volleyball lore locally and internationally.” she looks up at him, the size difference just starts sinking in to Oikawa, he had to look down and unconsciously lean down a little to hear and see her better. “I saw your interview with Jump, as much as I commend the life story cover I'm gagging at the photo quality.” She jokes.
“Excuse me?”
“No offense meant you're a great subject Oikawa-san, but I gotta say that photoshoot was not flattering. It's probably the lighting and the sharp contrast.”
For a minute she blabbers about the techniques she would've used if she took the photos, her editing process if it was her, all the technicalities that made Oikawa dizzy not because of boredom but because of pure awe.
This girl is something else, he doesn't know shit about photography but as she keeps on yapping about it, it feels so familiar as if he has known her for a while, the comfort, the warmth travelling in his chest—which he knows is not the Argentinian weather nor climate.
“Anyways! I'm done for photos for the night. What I need right now is a bloody drink.”
It was fascinating to see the switch up, from this yapping photographer to this lady excitedly tapping her fingers on the bar to get her tequila.
Oikawa has no idea why he followed her, he's supposed to be watching the match, take the time to analyse gameplays of both his pro teammates and casual players like her friends, he bets he could find interesting differences but here he is beside a woman who sips on the lime without flinching before taking the shot of tequila in one gulp.
“Do you dance Oikawa-san?”
He snaps out of his thoughts and looks down at her. She's blushing from the night heat, or maybe it's the neon lights reflecting. Nonetheless she looks ethereal with those lips glossy from the shot of tequila, long lashes, and dark eyes.
He was never the dancing type but he was drawn to follow her to the dance floor especially when there's a bunch of men here and there watching her like a hawk.
She sways her hips to the loud beat and Oikawa just stands there watching closely as her long wavy hair bounces in every movement as the scent of vanilla shampoo floods his senses.
“You’re supposed to dance on dance floors, Oikawa-san.”
“I don't know how to and please call me Toru.”
She giggled holding his hand as the beat changed she dragged him to the center and used his hands to try and make his body follow the beat.
He knew he was tired from the match today but her soft giggles as she looked up and watched him struggle to keep up to the beat seemed to drive the exhaustion away.
It felt like he's on a hazy dream. It was fast, sweet, intoxicating, his head was spinning from all these stimuli, her laughter, her scent, her body close to his, her warmth, it was all overwhelming. He feels like he's short circuiting.
Well he was right in one thing it was indeed just like a hazy dream. It wasn't long till her friends came up to pick her up and so were his friends.
Matias walks up to Oikawa and hooks his arm around his neck, “Found ya! We're heading to the hotel. Come on, you obviously loosen up dancing it away huh!” Matias laughs in the middle of the loud noise.
Oikawa's gaze landed on Sunny, her friends are taking her home now as well, but she didn't move for a while and smiled up at him, “Nice meeting you, Toru.” She extended her hand for a handshake and Oikawa reached out and the skin contact was electrifying.
Her warmth met his and he swore he could just stay right there and enjoy the sweet warmth she offers but he had to let her go.
“Nice to meet you too, Sunny.”
But when her hands drew away and she started to walk away with her friends the sweet warmth turned into the unfamiliar cold as the wind blew.
He shrugged Matias' hands off him and looked down he just realized something was tucked between his fingers and when he took the tiny piece of paper to unfold it, he saw a number written under her name and Oikawa had to bite his lip to physically stop himself from smiling like an idiot.
He has never met anyone as forward as her, the perfect combination of wildness and precision.
Her precise hands and delicate fingers working around her camera as her eyes burn with passion, and the wild boldness she has as she hits the dance floor and chug shots of tequila.
He was smiling like an idiot as they made their way to the hotel, his fingers busy typing away on his phone to save the number.
As he successfully added her contact, he tucked the piece of paper safely in his wallet, keeping it like his most prized possession.
When Matias left him at his hotel room he stares at her contact name, he contemplated, he knew himself he could be very impulsive, he's reactive, and he didn't want to spark a fire to leave it unattended to go stark, so he hesitated, his fingers hovered onto the sent button for an agonizing minute until he abandons all hesitation and tapped it.
From: Oikawa
Hey, save your number. Here's mine. I'm wondering if we could grab a quick bite? Tomorrow? At Morrante’s?
His phone beeps and his eyes lit up seeing her name.
“Sure! Meet me at 10? Same spot like last night?”
He sent a quick confirmation for their meeting and lay awake for a while and he felt like a teenager when all he could see on the ceiling was how her cheeks blush out of tipsiness, how her hips sway beautifully, and how free she can be.
He rolled around his bed stupid grin painted on his face. God, if he won't give this a shot he knows he's gonna miss an opportunity of a lifetime so he's gonna go for it.
The initial impression for Gojo Satoru is that he has everything being the top of the jujutsu society, he's the head of his clan, the golden boy who won the ultimate jackpot in genetic lottery and power scaling, not to mention he's rich and good looking–in fact it's an understatement, he can be classified as a god walking among men with that deep blue eyes and silver hair.
But for the man, it's the contrary even if to some people his life appears perfect the way it is. For Gojo Satoru there's a void that stubbornly refuses to be filled, no scratch that, it's a void in his heart he's been chasing to fulfill but desperately fails to.
The source of all this void or the cause of it rather—the ultimate bane of his existence is sitting across him with her legs crossed whilst she's listening to the briefing for the year's activity for the young Jujutsu Sorcerer students.
She occasionally sips on her tea tapping her newly done nails on the edge of the cup. Her pink lips glistened upon contact with the tea.
Honestly, it's astounding to think how this 5’5 girl can make him feel like this. She had no idea of the power she holds when it comes to him.
She has him wrapped around her slender fingers. At times he's very much tempted to use his status and power to just snatch her up as his bride—now he's not really gonna do that.
He knew he'll face her wrath, oh he could already imagine her crimson red face from anger, she'll immediately knock him down and probably kick him by his shin.
He was way too busy daydreaming that he had no idea how the meeting concluded. He just snapped out of his reality when she waved her hand in front of his face.
“Did you even listen to the briefing?” Right, that's her, the righteous, and sweet girl. Far from his rebellious antics that would get anyone in trouble–but he's not just anyone so it doesn't matter.
She's looking up at him innocently, lashes fluttering at every blink, even with his blindfold he still gets overwhelmed seeing her features. Her nose, her glossy lips and he's 100% sure that lipgloss is peach given by the scent, her round eyes. God, why does she smell like sweet candies?
“Satoru?”
She snapped her fingers right in his face. She's pouting. Damn, he could just pull her close to kiss her right now.
“Yes, sorry cupcake. I was just thinking of something.”
She hums. “Well, I just stayed around for a bit to give you these.” She hands him two jars of cookies. Even with the lid shut he could smell it. “One's for Megumi-kun and Tsumiki-chan. You can take the other jar. They said they loved the first batch I made.” She smiled remembering the siblings fondly.
It's been a while since Satoru took in Megumi and Tsumiki, his clan was not entirely happy, given they know the boy is a Zenin and by taking in the boy and cancelling out Toji's selling of the boy, he's making a political tension but it's not like the old geezers can't do shit about it.
“You should drop by yourself. I may need a little bit of help with Tsumiki and Megumi.”
He could see her eyes lit up, goddamn he could just drop down on one knee and just ask her to marry him right now. But that's not how girlfriends would like right? He needs to prepare in the future or something.
Is it even normal for 18 year olds to propose? Will she say yes? Is she gonna take him seriously?
He's only been dating her for quite a few months, and damn his greatest challenge is holding back, how can he stay up close to her when all he wanna do is gobble her up? She's so tiny compared to him, she has to tiptoe to whisper to him, he has to walk a little slower so she can match his pace given one step of his is twice of hers.
The Great Gojo Satoru who's got everything–nearly everything is struggling just with the simple gesture of wanting to hold her hand.
He could hear Shoko at the back of his mind saying, ‘It’s like a wolf dating a sheep honestly. You better watch out we're practically in a wolf's den she can easily be snatched up.’ he pouts at the thought and clenched his fist, right even though Naoya Zenin is lurking around at some point. That creepy misogynistic cow is even thinking he has a chance with his girl oh hell no.
In clan meetings he could see the malicious eyes of that man with a pissed-colored hair lingering in her entirety and he's riled up just thinking about it.
However, the tension in his fist eased up when she hooked her arms on his, leaning herself in his side and all fear that he had about the lingering eyes of other men just vanished.
Right, that's all they can do. Watch. Because at this moment she chose him, only him and he's sure as hell he'll work hard to keep it that way.
“You’ve been thinking deeply again. For someone with an eye that can see everything you either hyperfixate or space out.” She observed looking up with a small smile.
“Though, I wish you'd focus on me at most when we're together. I can't seem to figure out what's going on in that infinite mind of yours. I wonder if it's beyond my comprehension whenever you space out. I can't see your eyes but I can feel like you're staring into deep space.”
He stopped dead on his tracks. He didn't realize that. The thing is he loves her so much he finds himself daydreaming about her while she's still standing in front of him. God what a big idiot he was! Busy with daydreaming about what he could do with her whilst unconsciously ignoring her in real time.
He gently removed her hands around his arm and pulled her by her waist kissing her gently on her lips. “I can't help but daydream about you even if you're up close. How can a sweet little thing like you even think of being with me? How do I keep you close? I don't wanna lock you up, I wanna show you off but goddamn I want to flick a purple hollow every damn time somebody looks at you.” he whispers against her lips, looking down at her and he swears he could just dip down once again to kiss her to savor this expression of hers, the blushing the gasp of surprise her blinking, and her teeth biting down her bottom lip.
He hugs her burying his head on her neck breathing in her sweet scent, “I’ve always been focused on you. If you can see what goes through my mind every time I think of you, you might think of running fast and far, having you—being yours, being mine seems surreal. I still can't help but daydream.” He pulled her closer.
“I'm very much real, ‘Toru.” She hugs him back softly giggling, “You don't need to get so worked up daydreaming.” She gently pulled away from him smiling standing on her tip toes to properly cup his face, she gently removed his blindfold.
“I’ll always be here but I'd prefer if you bask in the morning sunlight rather than lament about missing it when it's already sunset.”
She kissed him this time. Despite her shy nature she made the first move and who is he to deny this angel?
He easily scoops her up to kiss her properly she yelped in surprise pulling away looking down at him.
“I love you, Satoru. That's the reality. So stop dreaming about me and live with me. That's way better isn't it?”
“Well then, would you marry me?”
“I would but maybe after you stopped dreaming.”
She giggled and hugged him. And at that moment Satoru realized he doesn't need to dream, this is his reality, the one he could reach, and whatever happens next, he'll take it, he'll face it while holding her close.
Katsuki knows that self control is not something he is good at, he has a hot temper and he rarely speak without a scowl or shout. But it's not the worst example of his lack of self control.
He was silently sat in his office as he spins the phone in his hand like a fidget spinner, contemplating whether he should give in to his greed or try to not give away himself but after a couple of minutes debating with himself, he decided to give in to his selfish need.
He pressed dial and it wasn't long until somebody picks up.
"Kacchan? Is there anything I can do for you?"
Katsuki held the phone tightly against his ear, his heart beating fast out of anticipation. "Where are you?" he asked with a low growl, trying to act normal, right, this is how he is with everyone right? Not soft, but tough. "Oh I'm on my way to your office now, I brought us lunch." Katsuki's eyes widened when you suddenly came in holding two lunch boxes in your hand with a grin.
He ended the call and rolled his eyes as he walks toward you, taking the lunch boxes away from you. "You're my secretary, not my personal cook. We could've just ordered or somethin'." he clicked his tongue, sitting down at the couch while you settle down beside him with a soft chuckle, ignoring the rough attitude.
"Oh come on, we both know it's not healthy. Plus, I also bought some lunch to Ni-chan, I figured I'd give you something too." you told him, giving him a spoon and fork so he could start digging in.
Katsuki finds himself watching you as you took your first bite, so, you went to see your brother. Now, that is what he needed exactly to remind himself why he needs to chill and practice self control. "How's Izuku?" he asked, trying to distract himself from the way your knees brushed against each other, since when did his couch in the office got so tiny? He couldn't properly savor the meal you cooked because your whole existence is making his senses go haywire, did you change your shampoo? And why is your hair put up? Why is your neckline exposed like that? Why is it that-
"Kacchan?"
Katsuki jerked out of his thoughts when you snapped your fingers in front of his face, "What?" he didn't mean to say it a little harshly but he saw that you were taken aback, you withdrew your hands away from his face with a defeated sigh, as if burnt by a raging hot fire. "N-Nothing, I'm sorry. Just call me if you need something." you immediately clean after yourself and exit his office while Katsuki groaned out of frustration, noticing the tears threatening to fall in your eyes but he couldn't do anything to stop you from leaving his office.
"Fucking hell." he buried his face in his hands and let out a muffled scream.
He didn't mean that, no, but he had to do his best to try and put up an act. This is him trying to control himself, he needs to get back to his senses, he should've know that it's a bad idea for him to hire you as his secretary, but no, he gave in to his own desire to keep you close and now it's becoming his own torture.
He can't bring himself to pursue you, no, he can't do that to Izuku, or maybe it's not really the bro code that he's being wary of, maybe it's your rejection that he's running away from. Because why would you even want anything to do with him? He knew that Izuku has forgiven him for all of the things they went through as children but what about you? What if you're still seeing him as your big brother's bully?
He banged his head on the table, he needs distraction, or else he'd storm out of this office to find you to just hold you tightly in his arms and never let go.
You were teary eyed when you left Katsuki's office, did you do anything wrong? You thought you two are becoming closer, but how come he's all snappy again? Well you always knew how unpredictable his mood is, but a part of you hoped that Katsuki would care to not snap at you the way he does with everybody else.
"YN?"
You looked up and saw Shoto looking down at you worriedly, "Hey…" you greeted, hoping that he won't noticed the dried tears on your cheeks, but when you felt his thumbs wiped your cheeks, you knew that you failed to hide your sadness with your fake smile.
Shoto looked around, "Is he mean today?" he asked, gently patting your head before pulling you in for a hug. You shook your head and held onto his shirt. "J-Just the usual…I'm just being a little sensitive today, I guess." you told him and Shoto gently rubbed your back.
"You should've worked with me." he joked, trying to lighten up the mood and you pulled away from him with a chuckle, "I should've…I was just too stubborn." Shoto sighs, well, he's not one to understand this kins of sacrifice, but he tries, and he sees how much you want to work with Katsuki to stay close and support him, and he knows exactly why. "Mina's having a party tonight, come with me, the girls can probably help you with this." you smiled at Shoto and hugged him tightly, you know that he's awkward, but since he knows your real feelings for Katsuki he tries to ease your struggles by just listening and you're thankful for that.
"Thanks, Sho."
Shoto smiled. "I can't do much so I think you'll be better to find someone who can relate since all I can do is listen." he pat your head once again and looked at the closed door of Katsuki's office, "I'll talk to your boss now." you just nodded and sat back down on your seat, scrolling through your phone to send a text message to Mina and the others to inform them that you'll be at the party tonight.
"EHHH?!"
The girls had the same reaction when you told them about your feelings for Katsuki, none of you can speak for a few minutes all of the girls are trying to find reasons as to why you've fallen in love with Bakugo Katsuki. Ochaco was the first one to break the silence, her fingers on her chin as she looks at you with a surprised look. "You know, I used to think you'd fall for Todoroki-kun rather than Bakugo-kun." she told you as before she closed Mina's wide open mouth.
Momo nodded in acknowledgement, recalling the times where you and Katsuki would often scream at each other while you were all sweet and calm with Shoto, for years of being your friends, the girls genuinely believed that it will be you and Shoto. "And you guys are pretty close aren't you? In fact there were rumours that you were dating." you sighed, you are seen with Shoto in public a lot of times, but it was because he gives an effort to try and distract you from your inner struggles because of your feelings for Katsuki.
"Ehhh, what a shame, we thought you guys came together here to announce your relationship officially or something."
Momo giggled and then others followed, "Oh come on guys, you're forgetting my real issue." you groaned as you took another shot of tequila. You were well aware of the attention that you get when you hang out with Shoto but you never knew that the girls actually thought that you are together. It was frustrating, really if you were being honest, Shoto was the man of your dreams, the typical prince that you used to dream of marrying as a kid but reality is far from princess, knights, and castles. And in this reality your heart is not stolen by a prince but a raging man disguised as a dragon.
"I mean this could actually help." Mina comforted you as the other girls squeezed you with their hugs, whispering sweet nothings to make you feel better.
"We'll make sure that we'll find out if he likes your if he's still a jerk after all these years."
With all honesty you were just hoping that they'd listen to you, it's not like you want to do anything to let him know about your feelings, especially that your friendship and his friendship with your brother will be at risk but you forgot how enthusiastic Mina is when playing the matchmaker and now you're scared of whatever she was planning next and so the next thing you knew, Mina dragged Shoto towards you with a smirk that could only mean embarassment or trouble for you.
"Kirishima is on the way with Bakugo why don't you guys wait for them here in the couch together?" Shoto was forced to sit down beside you and you looked at the other girls silently begging for help. Shoto on the other hand is just drinking quietly, having no idea of Mina's scheme.
Kirishima went through hell just to convince Katsuki to come and join the party, "I've got morning patrol you shitty fuck." the blond complained as they arrived but despite his death glares and never ending curses, Kirishima didn't let himself given for he was more scared of getting beat up by Mina if he won't succeed in bringing Katsuki in for tonight's party.
"Just loosen up will 'ya?!" Kirishima made his way through the crowd, dragging the complaining Katsuki with him but the blond froze midway, making the red head turn towards him. "Come on, dude. We're already here! It's too late to back down!" Kirishima pulled his friend but Katsuki was still staring at something or maybe someone…
When Kirishima followed Katsuki's gaze, he can now fully understand why the blond was frozen in his place. Even with the flashing lights and the crowded place, he was able to see what Katsuki was looking at.
Shoto was slow dancing with you, his hands on your waist, while your hands were wrapped around his nape. Faces close to each other, forehead and nose tips almost touching, it looks so intimate.
Katsuki could feel his world crumble at that moment, and he wanted to run as far as he could but he couldn't especially when he heard Mina's enthusiastic voice yelling for him and Kirishima. The red head looked at him apologetically, "Sorry dude. I didn't know they'd be here." Katsuki said nothing and went straight to grab a drink but even as he settled down on the couch nearby, his eyes was still fixed on you and Shoto.
His eyes scanned how you seem to be so relaxed in Shoto's touches and in his arms, for fucks sake you were even smiling, and he feels like in your world, there's no place for him, no place for Katsuki because everything is reserved and dedicated for Shoto. He let the bitter taste of the alcohol as it travele down his throat, his stomach filled with something warm, his temperature rising as he watches you and Shoto even more.
It reminds him of what happened earlier, if he didn't put on an act of keeping you at arm's length, will it change anything? Is he gonna be the one to hold you tight while Shoto is the one downing drinks the way he does right now? For some reason, his eyes sting, is it because of the burning sensation traveling up his throat? Damn, he should've known he'll never be able to have you, he could only settle for this, keeping his distance because why the hell would you even look at his way when you have the perfect man in front of you?
Shoto on the other hand could feel someone drilling holes at the back of his head with their glare alone and he already knew who it was without looking. Honestly, he's not a fan of the plan that Mina told him, but he decided to go with it, after seeing how you look so defeated. As someone who witnessed your secret admiration for Katsuki for years, this is the least he could do for you.
"Am I doing this right?" he asked innocently, afraid that he might step on you or something. You giggled at him and nodded, "You're a little awkward but you got the spirit." you joked and Shoto chuckled, a very rare moment that even you rarely witness. "Oh wait, is that a chuckle?" Shoto just shook his head, going back to his usual stoic expression.
"Can you see him?" he asked, looking down at you. "No, you're kinda too tall for me to look over your shoulder." Shoto thought for a moment, he ponders whether he should do it or not, a part of him knows that if his observations were right, he coud either help you or he might end up with some serious injury but he figures if it's for his friend's happiness maybe he should try his best to show Katsuki what he might lose if he'll turn a blind eye on your feelings for him.
"I'll lift you and take a quick look."
"Wait what?!"
It was late, Shoto lifted you off the ground by your waist to let you up in the air for a quick moment so you can observe Katsuki behind him and your eyes widened when you met his gaze as you gripped on Shoto's shoulder tightly.
Mina and the other girls were shocked of how far Shoto played his part in this plan, and when they turned to look at Katsuki's reaction, it was an enough testament of his true feelings, especially when the blond placed his glass harshly on the table, almost crushing it before making his way towards you and Shoto.
You didn't even have time to think when Shoto put you down, because before you could even look at your friend, Katsuki's hands immediately snatched you away from Shoto and he dragged you away from the group.
Katsuki was cursing in his head, why did he let his temper get the better of him again? He should've just left without dragging you, now he's standing in front of you and he couldn't even utter a word as to why he snatched you away from Shoto. Fuck there's no escaping this now, no dumb alibi can sound reasonable after he straight up snatched you from Shoto like a kid upset that his favorite toy is held by someone else.
Self control. Control. Control.
It wasn't enough for him to chant it in his head, because before he could even try to do something logical or reasonable his body gave in and he let his head rest on your shoulder before wrapping his arms on your waist, inhaling your scent, letting his mind and his soul etch your scent an the warm feeling of your skin against his, if this is the last time that he'll get to touch you like this, he needs something to hold on to for his own sanity.
"Please…." he whispered weakly almost begging. He doesn't know what he was begging for, but he's at the end of his wits, he's left with no further layers to strip down, no more masks to wear, because everything that he is lays bare in front of you, his whole existence is at the palm of your hand, he feels tiny, and so vulnerable, he would've fallen down on his knees if you didn't place your hand on his back.
As you let your hands rest on his back, you felt him shaking, and when you heard him sniffing as you felt something wet on your shoulder you just realized that Katsuki was crying.
"K-Kacchan?" you called, not knowing what's happening. He stayed silent, just holding on to you as if somebody will take you away from him as he let his tears roll down his cheeks then onto your shoulders.
"Please…don't be in love with someone else." he whispered quietly, his hands around you holding you tighter, as if his own sanity depends on it. "I'm sorry…but please…choose me." Katsuki knows that this was pathetic, in fact this was the lowest that he thinks he could go, for someone like him to just break down like this, he knew he's at his wits end, he's been fighting himself for these feelings for years, in fact he couldn't even remember how long it's been but tonight is the last straw, if he hides this from you any longer he could burst into flames and be consumed by his own love for you.
He couldn't bear to see your sparkling eyes fixed on someone else, he couldn't see your delicate hand held by another, he couldn't bear hearing you laugh because of someone else, he wants all of it to be his, he wants to be the one to make you smile, to make you laugh, to be the one to hold you in his arms, to be looked at by your sparkling eyes, and he'll go crazy if all of this will be someone else's.
Your eyes widened when his voice broke, your arms automatically wrapped themselves around him, hugging him back.
"I've chosen you long ago, Kacchan. It's always been you."
Katsuki pulled away a little but his protective arms still around you, "B-but you and Shoto…" you shook your head and wiped away the tears rolling down his cheeks, his ruby eyes glazed with tears threatening to fall once more.
"Oh come on, if I like Shoto I would be working with him and not stuck with your grumpy ass." you told him with a glare and Katsuki was frozen for a moment before he hugged you tightly, his face buried on your neck, "I love you…always have, and always will." he confessed, dropping the tough guy mask he's been wearing around you for years, who cares about self control? If his heart wants you, why should he restrict himself from wanting you?
"Can I kiss you?"
"D-Dumbass you can't just ask and just expect me to---"
Katsuki cupped your face and gently pressed his lips on yours, it wasn't long till one of his hands found your waist once more to pull you closer, he gently nipped on your lower lip, earning a sigh from you before he pulls back, breathless.
"Can I hear you say it?" he asked, a part of him afraid that this is just a dream and he needs to hear you say it or else he'll believe that he's going insane.
"I love you." you chuckled before standing on your tip toes to press another quick kiss on his lips.
Haikyu Boys Caught With Their Best Friend's Sister (Featuring Kuro Tetsuro)
Kuro knows how wrong this is but he did everything in his power to not fall for his best friend's sister. It's been a month since he started dating you behind your brother's back, he knows that it's disrespectful and he's risking his friendship with Kenma, knowing how much he adores you. But Kuro waited for so long, and fought his feelings it made his chest tighten whenever he'll see you but can only pretend to see you as a younger sister.
He treasures his friendship with Kenma but the way your skin feels warm and hot against his hands makes his brain malfunction, all he could think is how every inch of you must be worshipped, he breatehs into your skin, gently nipping, and marking the parts that his lips could reach as you arch your back and rake your fingers in his scalp. "T-Tetsu…" you chanted his name like a prayer and Kuro felt the last fiber of control he has in him snap just by hearing your sinful voice call out his name.
He met your eyes, his hand still roaming underneath your shirt as you sigh in pleasure. "Use your words, love. Tell me what you want…" he teased, gently nibbling on your ear and you groaned in frustration, earning a laugh from the man on top of you.
"God, I love you so much YN." he whispered leaning down to kiss you on your lips.
He lets you settle on his lap, his hands still under your shirt as you both try to watch the movie. He's kissing your nape, while his eyes was fixed on the television. "Love…" he breathed, calling your attention. "Why?" you asked, turning to face him.
Kuro took his hands out from under your shirt with a sigh before kissing the tip of your nose, "A-Are you ready to tell Kenma?" he asked, his hands finding yours, massaging it gently before kissing the back of it.
You know how conflicted he must feel, he wouldn't have hide this relationship if not for your request to not let your brother know. You were worried about how Kenma would react and you wouldn't want to be part from Kuro.
"Soon, love. I promise…" you whispered, hugging him, letting him bury his face on your neck.
Kuro held you tightly, even if his chest if filled with worry, he let himself find peace as he holds you in his arms.
But that peace was soon cut off when the doorbell rang and you both were snatched away from your little safe paradise.
Kuro looked at you, waiting for your confirmation of who might be the visitor but the moment you jumped out his arms, Kuro knew who's outside.
"Oh shit, that's my brother. Oh my God, Tetsu you need to hide!"
Kuro didn't have any chance to think when you pushed him towards the bathroom and locked it before you went to open the door to greet your brother.
Kuro pressed his ear agains the door, his jaw clenching as he looked down at the tent on his pants. "Fuck shit." he cussed, he knew it, he knew that it wouldn't be long till his luck ran out but still, he couldn't feel any regret because every stolen moment he had with you was the best of his life, if your relationship might cause a problem with his friendship with Kenma, he would take all the blame.
Kenma walked inside your flat with his usual bored expression, "Is this a bad time?" he asked, examining your flustered look and heavy breaths. Your eyes widened and shook your head, "N-No, I-I was just cleaning and kinda forgot you'll drop off some of my things." it wasn't long since you moved out of your parents' home so you still have some of your stuffs left in there and Kenma volunteered to bring your stuffs so you won't have to do it.
You were just so caught up with Kuro's sinful touch that you forgot that he's coming over tonight.
"Okay…" he handed a bag to you. "Mom said not to bring all of your stuffs, she said she'd like your room there to stay that way." he told you, his eyes scanning your flat as if taking in the details. His eyes carefully scanned your furnitures, his head tilting a little as he tried to take a look of the kitchen, before they went back to meet your eyes.
"Your flat looks way better than last time, you decorated well."
You could only nod your head, usually your brother won't stay for so long to say stuffs like this does he miss you or he's just trying to torment you? "Y-Yeah, I just looked at some Pinterest inspo and stuffs…"
"Cool, hey can I use your bathroom real quick?"
You internally panicked and your instinct kicks in, holding onto your brother's sleeve before he could take another step closer towards your bathroom. "I-I haven't cleaned it yet….it's clogged and I-" Kenma looked down on your hand gripping his sleeve, "You don't know how to fix a clogged toilet? How are you gonna live alone? I'll fix it for you." Kenma removed you hands off his sleeve and walked over to the bathroom, opening the door.
Kuro couldn't hear anything no matter how hard he tries to press his ear against the door, even if he hears some noise, it's all muffled and inaudible, his heart hammers against his chest but he chose to stay calm waiting for you to come and open the door, so when he heard the doorknob click, he sighed in relief but his face went pale when he saw his best friend's face when the door opened.
Kenma was stunned, and there was a dead silence between the three of you. But when he was able to came back to his senses, he looked at Kuro from head to toe, and he saw that he's holding his shirt in his right hand and Kenma looked at him with lazy eyes.
"I knew that you've been hiding a boy for a month now but never in my wildest dreams that I imagined it to be Kuro."
That was the only thing that came out Kenma's mind, in fact, those words were blurted out without any careful thought process, it wasjust him simply stating the fact in front of him, his best friend shirtless hiding in your bathroom, looking flustered as he meet his gaze.
Kenma has suspicions that you are dating someone but he never imagined that it would be Kuro, though he wouldn't deny the way his best friends' gaze lingers on you whenever he thinks that he's not looking. A part of Kenma believed that Kuro wouldn't do anything without consulting him.
He doesn't know what to feel, his best friend and his sister, two of the most important people in his lives hiding like criminals, not trusting that he would understand the situation, as if he'll take it out agains them for falling in love.
He felt a pang of pain in his chest when he came up with that realization. But didn't say anything and wiats for you and Kuro to try and talk for yourselves.
Kuro couldn't utter a word, not when he couldn't decipher the tone laced in Kenma's voice.
"L-Let me explain, I was the one who pursued YN,I fell in love first. I'm the one to blame."
You went to Kuro's side to hold his hand, "But I was the one who wanted to keep it a secret…I was scared and…I don't want you to be mad. I-I love him, Ni-chan." you admitted honestly, squeezing Kuro's hand to tell him that you're in this mess together.
Kenma sighed as he looked at the two of you with his cat like eyes, he didn't like the idea of the two of you hiding just because you both thought that he wouldn't understand but Kenma decided that he'd rather keep it to himself because he couldn't recall a moment where he saw your eyes sparkle the way they do as you look at Kuro and as a big brother, he wouldn't want to put an end to you and his best friend's happiness "Whatever. I'm not against any of this but have some decency to at least cover up your hickeys.." he looked at you intensely, the kind that he gives you when he's about to scold you, "You're still my baby sister…" he told you before looking at Kuro with a glare, "And you're still my best friend."
Yuji was trembling as he held the box in his hands. He closed his eyes tightly and utter a silent prayer, hoping that he'll wake up from this nightmare and see another reality where the Shibuya Incident never happened.
Everyone who was present at Shibuya have prepared their last will, and messages for their loved ones in case that they won't be back. Sadly, Yuji had to be the one to deliver Nanami's last message because he promised to do so.
Yuji's footsteps were heavy as he opened the bakeshop's door. He ignored the "Sorry, we're closed." sign and went straight in.
You were cleaning the bakeshop when you heard that somebody walked in. You sighed, sometimes people don't really get the sign "closed". When you rushed to see who walked in, you saw a pink haired teenager carrying a small box in his hands.
He looks miserable, the poor teen still have some bruises and cuts and his eyes looks like he's seen more than what he should've. You have a soft heart for youngsters, maybe it was because you had a younger sibling who had passed and seeing a young boy like this one looks broken just makes your heart tight.
"Hey, I'm sorry but we're already closed." You started, "But I can still give you something, what would you like to have?" You asked him sweetly.
Yuji gathered all of the courage he could gather at that moment to step towards you and hand you the box. Before you could even talk, he went down on his knees and cried.
"I'm so sorry but I have to deliver this for Nanamin."
You froze upon hearing your boyfriend's name and your knees gave up, Yuji was able to catch you and helped you to sit on the chair nearby.
"W-What do you mean? Where's Kento?" You asked, your voice shaking as you look at the box in front of you. A part of you already knows, you've always known that this might happen, but you can't believe that this is the reality now.
You know about your boyfriend's job as a sorcerer, you don't understand a thing or two about it but all you knew is that it's dangerous. Kento would go home with bruises sometimes, but you didn't mind, you were worried but as long as he comes home alive, you can deal with it.
"Nanamin fought bravely until the end. A lot of lives were saved because of him." Yuji said. He has no idea how to say it straight. How he can make you feel better, how he can say it in a way that won't hurt but he knows that's not damn possible.
Tears escaped from your eyes before you even knew it. You were crying like a child in front of a stranger as you hugged the box that he gave you.
Yuji was crying as well, he couldn't do anything to make you feel better because there's no way he'll feel better about this too.
You opened the box and saw some of Kento's belongings, his tie, his phone, his wallet, a letter and a velvet box.
The first thing that you did was unlock his phone, you're his wallpaper and his lockscreen. You opened his video folder and saw a recent one.
You played it and your heart broke when you saw his face on screen.
"Hi my love, I would never want you to watch this video. Not at all, but if you're watching this...that means I failed to keep my promise to you." Kento removed his glasses and fixed his tie, smiling sadly at the camera.
"I didn't want to do this, you know? But I need to leave something in case my luck has run out." He sighed and paused, breathing heavily as if he's fighting back his tears.
You held the phone tighter when he looked straight at the camera with teary eyes. "I wanted to spend all of my years with you. To come home and smell the cookies and cake that you're baking, and see that smile of yours." He smiled bitterly as he clenched his fist.
"I will do my best to come home, safe and sound. So I could kiss you and keep you in my arms, but if I don't...forgive me my love."
Yuji's heart was breaking every moment that he listens to Nanami's voice and while watching you break down as you listen to his message.
"If you're watching this, god, I truly hope you wouldn't have to but if you do. I'm so sorry, forgive me for the pain that this will cause you my dearest."
You could see that he couldn't continue, you know he didn't want to record this at all. But apart from that you see the fear in his eyes and you could hear the worry in his voice.
"This will be my last mission. If I survive, I would lay my weapon down and live the best of the years with you." Nanami smiled at that thought, that's the plan, this is one last fight till he finally rests and live without the fear of not making it home to you.
"However, if fate decides to be cruel. I want you to move on. Take the tiny box and open it, love."
You did what he said and your heart was broken even more into tinier pieces if that's even possible.
There was a golden ring inside the box with your birthstone on it. Your eyes went back to the screen and you see Nanami smiling sadly. "Keep this ring as a sign of my devotion to you even in the after life." He chuckled, biting his lower lip as he looked at the camera.
"Please find someone else and get married. And my wish is that you use this ring so that even if I didn't have the honor to marry you, a part of me would still be with you. But if you don't wish to, please keep it for me and look at it to remember me."
You wore the ring and kept on watching his message.
"I love you and I want nothing but your happiness. So please don't cry for me, I want you to smile whenever you remember me because I would never want to be the reason of your tears."
