What is going on with the world??
Jesus…
In a move that has sparked outcry from archaeologists, historians and locals, the Peruvian government has approved a multi-billion international airport near the famed site of Machu Picchu, Peru’s single most important tourist destination. Bulldozers have begun to clear millions of tons of earth for the project, which will be located in Chinchero, a picturesque Inca town.
Building the airport in this location will destroy an ancient landscape, one shaped by the Incan people with terraces and routes.
Critics also suggest that planes flying low over the nearby village of Ollantaytambo and its archaeological park filled with ruins and a massive Inca fortress with large stone terraces, would cause incalculable damage to fragile Inca ruins there and destroy the peace and beauty of the area.
The new airport will make access to the site much easier, and thus encourage greater numbers than ever before to visit.
But Machu Picchu is already overwhelmed by almost double the limit of tourists as recommended by UNESCO. [see also India’s Taj Mahal - an incredible site simply reeling under a relentless, ineffectively managed tourist, both domestic and international, onslaught]
It’s the constant battle between protecting the past and profiteering from it.

What the actual fuck
how about NO
Opinions are divided in the agrarian town of Chinchero, where the airport is slated to open in 2025
PLEASE REBLOG!
hey! peruvian here
to be completely honest, there is probably nothing anyone can do about this at this point because it has been in the works since the 90’s. as you can most likely tell, our government is a fucking joke. still, this needs international attention. a lot of it. this is my country’s history, culture and one of the most beautiful things we have to offer at risk.
our best bet is at the very least causing somewhat global outrage to spread awareness and perhaps make this into something bigger amongst the middle and upper class people in the central cities as sadly the lower class and indigenous citizens (the majority of the country’s population) go widely ignored by the government and the former (middle and upper class) tend to also ignore shit unless they perceive it as affecting them directly
The "I'm checking you out" scene was SUPER cute, but who else after hearing went into a mental deep dive trying to figure out why it sounded familiar and stayed up an extra hour before their brain was like:
"Forget about it. You'll never figure it out because it was just them being cute. Put the movie brain away and --- EUROVISION! God you're dumb sometimes, it was Eurovision you fool. Now seriously, go to bed."
Here it is! I learned some new things so I wanted to give them a try! Beau and Caleb’s Mansion cat, Koschei (? I couldn’t really hear his name so I am guessing)!
Sneak peak into my next Critical Role comic.. I have a cat with this exact same attitude (â—• ω â—• “)Â

Hey y’all, if highly recommend watching the latest all work no play with Khary Payton, for those of us who have no had to deal with the injustices black people have, its extremely insightful and eye opening.
Even just hearing one person talk about their experiences out loud can change your view point on so many things.
Skip Beat chapter 281
It FINALLY happened. I am SCREAMING!! I have been following this manga for over 11 years.... He finally said it omg.... I don’t know how to handle this....
I hope she uses this opportunity, however painful it is to express these feelings to Ren vv vv
And doesn't bottle up the hurt and sadness that he is unknowingly (or maybe knowingly..) causing.
About Tree of Life
I waited too long to post my thoughts anywhere else, but I need to get them out. As I learned about the terrorism that occurred at the Synagogue and learned that one of my former musical theater students was there, but safe. I found myself thinking of Adam Driver's/Flip's monologue in Blackkklansman.
"In a short monologue, Zimmerman says he was born Jewish but not raised to be Jewish, that his experience contained no synagogues or bar mitzvahs or holiday observances. In fact, he never thought about being Jewish at all until his under-cover assignment. Now, he says, he “can’t stop thinking about it.” - - The Jewish Journal
This experience is very close to mine. No temples or mitzvahs; we only observed the popular holidays. My father was raised orthodox and hated it so we were very, very, very relaxed when it came to religion. The joke, "I'm jew...ish" complete with hand gesture was a common utterance in my life. That upbringing coupled with the fact that I was told too many times that I "didn't look Jewish" when I was a child caused me to distance myself from that identity.
But in the past few years, I have been confronted by this identity by both those who would do harm as well as friends. Every news story about antisemitism makes me boil with rage and worry for my family as I think of the evils we may have to deal with (especially with our very Holy last name). Every time my friends tell me to go on Birthright, I roll my eyes and a sense of indignation waves over me as my distance then widens. Feelings of confusion bridge these feelings as I never know what to think, say or do.
In every discussion about identity politics, my thoughts or insights are valid/right but always wrong too. I can sympathize but never truly understand. I can know but never feel it. It's utter chaos honestly. So I keep to myself, thoughts bottled and emotions measured. I never know what to say but want to say everything.
But one thing I know is true...
That so called man deserves the unforgiving hammer of justice. The unmerciful swing of her judgement upon his head. I have no forgiveness for this being of evil.
So, remember when I shared photos of my niece as the cutest 13th doctor?
She got to meet her today!!
1st of all, TLOU2 trailer was so good and I can't wait to play it. Secondly, I felt extremely warmed when Ellie smiled... I feel like we are supposed to have this jarring feeling as this occurs after Ellie's murderfest 3000, but like.. Seeing her smile and being happy.. All I was thinking was, "That's my baby girl." And I couldn't be happier.
