Hello!  I’m actually working on a post for how to develop a writing portfolio, but in a nutshell:

Set a schedule you can stick to, and keep it.  Whether it be a page a day, an hour every weekend, or a short story a week, you will be surprised at how quickly you churn out work.

Resist the temptation to edit as you go.  It works for some people, but I find it poisonous to generating new content.  Write now, judge later.

That said, editing is an invaluable skill, and first drafts are almost never publication quality.  Practice editing your finished work, and possibly recruiting beta readers.

Don’t get discouraged!  Generating finished work is a skill that takes time to cultivate.  Keep encouraging yourself, keep reading and consuming content you find inspiring, and never give up.
