im like two months late but... DEADPOOL IN RIVALS!!!!!!
oh. my. GOD. i was literally screaming and freaking out when i saw the game awards trailer for season 6... and now thats he's actually been out in the game for a bit, im gonna go over what predictions of mine were right and what i think about his character overall.
so my original post on what i wanted for his kit i put twin katanas and twin pistols as his weapons, and not suprisingly, i was right! though his swords work more like blade sword than magiks but that actually makes more sense for him lol. he didn't get the spin slash ability that i pictured, but he did get something similar with the throwing his character icon ability. no gun spin attack, but thats fine
i was also actually sort of right about the small rework on the regen passive?? but its only for deadpool. im actually kind of surprised about this LOL, i really thought they were just gonna put wolverines passive on him. but hey, im not complaining! im a little sad he didnt get a teleport ability, but the deadpool in your area ability makes up for it, its so fucking funny.
i didnt have a clear ult in mind for him but the ones he has fit him well so im happy, im also glad they did kinda work in something similar to his move from umvc3 with the character icon
i was again, correct about his default recolor being his grey x-force suit, and his default skin is actually a unique take on his look! I wasn't expecting much to be changed since usually his suit stays pretty much the same as it was back in the 90s. i love the sock head thing they added, and the POUCHES!!!
now, i don't have proof.. and they aren't the exact same... but i swear they had to have taken inspo from ellies deadpool suit in the comics for his JACKET. and i love that detail. they cooked with the design
i also said he was gonna be a duelist... and i wasn't wrong! the fact hes the first character to be all three roles... sniffles.. it fits him so well.. truly, the best option they couldve gone for (im a strat main so i was worried id have to become a duelist player to play him)
sadly hes not voiced by the goat nolan north butttttt hes voiced by the OTHER goat, CYYU!!! gonna be honest, i didnt really know who cyyu/alejandro saab was before i heard him voicing deadpool, but im 100% happy with him being deadpool. his voice fits SO well and he perfectly captures the character, chaos and all. i now need a deadpool animated show with cyyu voicing him STAT!
the only actual complaint i have about him, is his accessory in the game... dont get me wrong! i love jeff, and that IS his boy. i just would've preferred his accessory be ellie :(. i mean, logan got laura why can't wade get ellie?? and as far as ive seen, the only mention of ellie is one line in the little blurb about the season when you first open the game... and thats it. its upsetting to me. i really hope if they get around to doing a second wave of accessories they finally give him an ellie one
thats most of my thoughts on his design and kit and allat in the game! ive played him a bit and sadly hes not really my playstyle but he is pretty fun so thats more of a me problem lmao. my computer also cant really handle the game anymore, since the optimization is still shit
