‘just surrender’ the words were all too familiar for the young swordsman. Their meaning. their sound echoing deep in Aoi’s heart. A sentence they had heard since too young an age. The brunette breathed out a shaky breath, eyes averted locked on their feet instead. The worthless things were too slow to carry them as they desired. 

Freedom? What here was freedom? The shaking in their hands? The burning of their lungs. The only DEVOTION Aoi knew was to the sword- to their family. The soul and center of them revolved around that cause.

A sickness they couldn’t shake. Luckily however, they were holding the cure in their hands.

It had only happened twice now, but each time they mentioned or were questioned  about something  uncomfortable, they would take another skewer - even if they hadn’t finished the first. Aoi bit down on the soft round ball, it’s sweetness a comfort unlivable without.

Lightly humming to himself, Hak moved the food items from the counter onto a nearby table. Sky tinted hues then looked to the blonde and offered, “Would you like some?” A hand casually extended forward with one of the dango. He didn’t mind sharing it with the other — especially if they were going to be trial batches, he didn’t want to risk having it all on his own. There were a lot to spare after all. 

It takes a moment for them to respond, but the result was inevitable. Aoi’s shouts out their departure to (hopefully) someone in the back before circling round the counter to join the black haired youth. A polite ‘thank you’ is said as the stary eyed blonde takes his offering. “I really needed a break. My manager has been driving me nuts all morning.” With a heavy plop Aoi sits down in an empty chair across from the raven. “Does my savior have a name?”
