“what interesting places you manage to find yourself lodged in, my dear corvo. as someone who has been a citizen of this.. humble city before you, i can safely assure that you will be well out of your element.” his words came as a bemused murmur before his body phased into existence, black smoke pluming and curling around both of their bodies as the deity leaned in close to the would-be lord protector.
“in a city of steel and violence, where will you find yourself? quiet, withdrawn corvo. even in the darkest alleys you will find someone to contend with over matters that are the most insignificant. whatever will you do, my precious bird now that your cage is no longer an issue and you find yourself once more in an open sky? i can assure you, i will be watching with bated breath.”

A slight sensation of burning unsettles the former-vigilante as the Outsider comes into view. It’s a bittersweet sight, to be completely honest. It’s always nice to see a familiar face, he thinks, but the Outsider’s presence likely meant something more going on below the surface; Corvo was reluctant to discover what the future held in store within the city.
He meets the other’s dialogue with his usual attitude; Corvo silently listens to his dialogue, watching him closely as the black smoke that seemed to radiate off of him consumed the pair. Without the accompaniment of the Void surrounding them, Corvo silently wondered if the scientists grasps had reached the deity as well. His eyes meet the void of the Outsider’s, as the sensation that crept along his hand settled to a small burn.
“...Precious bird...?” is all he has to say after all is said and done, tilting his head with a slight curiosity at the others words.
