the day is gonna end anyway and your warm bed will be waiting so you might as well do the hard things and not let them ruin your day
this is unironically how I push myself to do everything I dread

Pete is literally fighting his inner demon y'all
i love how we immediately went into sociopolitical commentary in Wu like yes the rich do be making deals with demons to keep their wealth causing the suffering and exploitation of not only the common people but also their own families. Yao as a metaphor for capitalist extraction!!!! I have prayed for times like this 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
i like the distinction the show makes between Pete's passive suicidal ideation (?) vs how he actually freaks out when hes confronted with eternal damnation and death . when niran tells him that he has part of a demon in him and that theres nothing he can do to exorcise it ..there is this moment of actual FEAR that takes over pete ; which is so interesting because pete has been recklessly putting himself in harms way every single chance he gets from the start of the series.
so what does it mean that pete hasnt actually given up on life ? does it mean that he actually wants to live when faced with the imminent danger of death ? does it mean theres still hope for him ? and what does this mean for him and his relationship with niran ?
so many fascinating questions that are set up to be answered and its JUST THE SECOND EPISODE !!!! 😲😲😲
You don’t need to repress your fear if you are scared. The evil forces that you’ve encountered, felt, and unknowingly absorbed, transfer them to me. [...] I’ll do for you what you did for me. It’s my turn now. The evil forces that you’ve encountered, felt, and still touched by, transfer them to me. Just transfer them all to me.
