It's funny to hear non comic book readers talk about superheros are "suddenly" woke and progressive nowadays. Like Superman was a radical socialist in the 1940s comics. He's always been disruptively progressive. That's kinda the entire point of being the "Man of Tomorrow." X-Men in the 80s had Kitty Pryde (problematically) equate the slur "mutie" to the n-word. Comics have addressed complex political issues the whole time. Just like any worthwhile scifi.

Thinking about Natasha’s funeral once again. Regardless if Nat wanted a funeral or not, a funeral is not for the person who died. It’s for the people who lost someone dear to them, it’s to recognize the grief that comes with death and allows for peace of mind.
