HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY!! 24 years old today. We all miss you more than any words can describe. I constantly wish you were to meet your amazing niece Aurora. I know that if you were she would stare at you all day long with eyes of Love, you just had something with kids, and I know you would have so much love for her you wouldn't treat her like a niece you would treat her as your own daughter. Today I will share some of the amazing things about you with her, and I will continue to do this with her every year to come. I miss you Billy so much everyday, I forever will carry you in my heart.

I miss billy more than words can say… one of my very happy thoughts is whenever Billy got paid from any job… he ALWAYS brought me a king size Reeses and a code red…. because those were my favorites… Happy Birthday Bubba.. -Mom
I truly wish that Billy could meet Aurora. And I wish he could come to our wedding. I miss Billy, and I miss him being a part of our lives. He'll always be remembered and loved.Â

Happy Birthday, Billy!
Dear Family and Friends,
Today is Billy’s birthday; he would have been 24. I want totake a moment to remember my brother and the life he lived. I also want to recognize the grief we still feel and how much we all miss him. For me, it’s important to just get it out there: to laugh and cry and scream at the good memories and the bad. I hope you’ll join me and take a moment to reflect on Billy’s life today.
It’s impossible to think of Billy without remembering those captivating dimples, his quick wit, and his fierce love. My brother did everything with his whole heart. Every time we talked we would end the conversation with “I love you” and I always knew he meant it. Today, when I remember Billy that’s what I’m thinking of: when Billy did something he meant it. If he told you he loved you, or told you to fuck off, he meant it. Of course, that’s not to say Billy didn’t have regrets, or wish he could take back something he had said. I’m certain he had many of those. But, Billy loved and felt deeply. I hope we can all take that message from his life; the only way to live life completely is to love completely.
We all have our ways of Remembering Billy because he meant something different to all of us. To me, he was and still is my brother, an extension of my heart. I hope you can do something for Billy today. Maybe something as simple as saying his name out loud or giving someone you love a genuine hug. Martijn and I have a special place in our home with a picture of Billy. Today, we bought flowers for that area, and placed them there in his memory. It’s nice to just talk about him and feel all the things.
Happy 24th Birthday, sweet brother.

A Note On This Blog
I’m not sure what this is or where this blog will go. Perhaps this first post will be it. And, that’s okay. Or maybe it can become a place for us to revisit once in a while on important days. If you’re so inclined, please, feel free to share something about Remembering Billy. It doesn’t have to be a specific memory; it can also be something random that just reminded you of him.
