Name: Belinda Alexandrine Veres.

Age: 16

Powers: Concilium, Pyrokinesis, & Transmutation.

Her father owned a bakery, and it always smelled of vanilla extract and baking pastries. It was Belinda's favorite place, though she had ceased touching the burners -- things had an unnatural tendency to catch flame in her presence.

An accident had caused her home to go up in flames when the girl was thirteen, leaving her without her parents. Anger, anger and a tendency to try and bake away stress; a simple, well-intentioned channeling of emotions caused a spark under the burner she had been making caramel on to ignite, the flames rapidly spreading -- fear, rage, confusion, and fire.

A shuffle of hands, and she was pawned off on her older cousin (he was the only one who wished for her company)...although it wasn't meant to be. Three years of happiness, of managing to talk her way into what she wished -- she didn't want to move, to leave the new home; a "strong-willed" bout of persuasion was attempted, only to backfire and cut the last person ever to care clean out of Belinda's life.

Alone and clad in black again, she found herself snatched up by the council, and moved to a home in New Orleans that was as grand as it was ancient. She was new, she was afraid, and she was alone.
