âYeah, but youâre doing it meanly⌠And Iâm not a midget!â Remy protests. Her lips quirk when Bella mentions concentration. âI know, I know⌠Sorry.â She mutters, scuffing her shoe on the ground. Sheâs aware that sheâs not very good at focusing. She hears that a lot in school. Or from her mother, because her mother hears it from Remyâs teachers. As the girl watches Bellaâs mood grow darker, she lets her head tilt, especially as her joke gets shut down. However, when Bella announces that she has an idea, Remy grins. âAwesome! What is it?â
The bright smile wavers when she sees the small pieces of dirt coming together to form a large boulder. âWhaddareyoudoingâŚâ Remy stares with wide eyes, then as Bella speaks, they grow even wider. âWHAT?!â She shrieks. As the rock comes hurtling towards her, Remy screams, her hands sticking out and eyes closing as she waits for impact⌠But it never comes. Slowly, after a few seconds, she opens her eyes to see that sheâs stopped the boulder, and there it sits, suspended in midair. With a gasp, Remy throws her hands up to celebrate, and the rock goes sailing upward, along with more chunks of dirt and the roots of a nearby bush. The redhead scrambles backwards, hands dropping to her sides, causing the large stone to come spiraling down and land back on the ground. A large cracking noise echoes through the air as it splits into minuscule pieces, revealing Remy standing behind it, dumbfounded. â⌠Whoops.â
âReally? Then, how come youâre so vertically challenged, kid?â She was joking, but as always her voice was a little too harsh to make this obvious. Only the faint glint of amusement in her eyes gave this away, the tiny smirk. However, she watches the way Remyâs mood shifts at the mention of focus, raising an eyebrow. Was she being too strict? She was never sure. âThereâs no need to be sorry. Iâm not your teacher, Iâm just your, uh⌠helper. Thereâs no rules here, yeah? But, you have a lot of power in you, kid, you just need to harness it.â She nods her head, then cringes at herself. âFuck, Iâm going soft. Crap, donât tell your mum I swore.â
When Remy grins, Bella canât help but become even more entertained. Poor girl had no idea. The way her smile drops in sync with the giant boulder rising into the air only increased Bellaâs laughter, only cackling more as she shrieks. âHey, I said Iâm not your teacher! No health and safety here, kiddo!â She yells her response, still focused upon the rock as it hurtles through the air, just in case she needs to stop it. But, she knows she doesnât have to when she feels that subtle shift of energy in the air. An expression foreign to her threatens to appear as she watches the boulder instead hover in midair, a safe distance from the redhead: a sickly, proud smile. She resists, however, maintaining her usual calm demeanour, even if she does allow a small grin. âWell don- oh, crap.â It was going so well. Bella dives out of the way just in time to dodge a chunk of rock hurtling her way. She covers her face assheâs covered in a cascade of the tiny rock pieces, grumbling to herself until it finally stops. As she stands, she flicks her arms outwards, the small fragments flicking from her clothing to join the piles upon the ground. Despite the chaos around them, Bella laughs loudly, shaking her head. âWell, no one can deny your style, Walker.â The brunette chuckles again, nearing the younger girl. âSee? I told you, you can do it. Just need a bit of⌠refinement. Baby steps, eh?â She hesitates, before slowly reaching out to place a hand upon the girlâs shoulder. She pats it, a little awkwardly, but her way of giving some, small praise. âGood job.â
