“Don’t pray that God would teach you how to love like He loves; pray that He would fill you with Himself and that He would love in and through you. Don’t pray that He would teach you to have joy; pray that the living God full of joy would enter into you. Don’t pray that He would teach you how to be peaceful; ask for the God of peace, the Prince of peace to infill you. Because if you try to imitate in your own strength, you will be a miserable replica. But if you allow the impartation of Jesus Christ to overtake you, suddenly it all works because it is Him imitating Himself, and He is very good at being God.”
— Eric Ludy (via stop-listen-and-learn)
I just realized how long it took Joseph & his brothers to meet & be together again. It took years for his brothers to mature in a way that made them safe for Joseph to be on terms with. How much time Joseph spent away, being built up into what he was meant for. He did so many good things away from them, away from their love, approval, or knowledge. At the same time, they grew & learned & repented.
Change is not from me or from others. It is from the Lord.
Why seek acceptance from people? When you’ve already been accepted by the most high loving God.
You know the more intimate I am with Jesus, the more intimate He becomes with me. He’s super responsive. For example, if you never seek Him, you’ll never find Him. If you don’t ask, you won’t receive. If you don’t knock, nothing opens.
The love God chooses for us is always better than the love we chose for ourselves, even when we can’t see it.
Life without Jesus feels a lot like an identity crisis. You forget your worth. You question your purpose. You are unable to recognize the love, and good things in your life. You can’t see past your mistakes, and recognize all the amazing things you can contribute. Point blank: you don’t know who you are. But when you place your complete identity in Christ, all of this changes. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a process and it doesn’t happen overnight. But it can happen. Brothers and sisters, be hopeful and place your identity in Christ alone. He will change everything for you.
Satan is real, and he is a liar. If you are a believer and follower of Jesus, prepare yourself for a life-long battle. He will seek to destroy your mind, body, and ultimately pull you away from God. He doesn’t seek out people who don’t know God… why would he? They are already his. Spiritual attacks are against those who love God. They are real, and if you’re not aware of them or prepared for them, they’ll begin taking over your life. THIS is why we pray. THIS is why we need the Word. THIS is why we must fill our minds with God’s truth because if we don’t, the enemy is gonna plant lies in your brain. These plants look a lot like doubt, worry, shame, fear… God doesn’t plant those seeds, Satan does. Brothers and sisters, prepare yourself and stay prayed up. Life is a battle. Know your enemy, and know the God who stands with you.
