on a more serious note, the amount of beef between authors is crazy. obviously, there was the whole ai situation(which I myself spoke on because there was a high level of confusion and doubt in the community), and everyone involved was completely justified in defending their cases, but wdym we're hating on terminology and adjectives?
don't get me wrong, i understand the word giving you the ick i feel that way about certain nicknames too, but in my opinion, just imagine he's calling you baby or something, or better yet, SCROLL.
it's not like reader is wattpad level moaning and screaming daddy and it looks like a geeking 15 year old wrote it, it's a pet name for christ's sake, there's like 500 of them that your brain can choose from to replace the word, same way your brain replaces y/n with the name you prefer.
i understand 'mama' is a common name used in michael fics, and it can be hard to find fics without it, but if it's really that bad, replace it or scroll. given michael's time and his behavior towards woman, it's not a far stretch for people to headcannon that he uses the name 'mama'. kind of like how marvel fans headcannon bucky barnes as a man to use the nickname 'doll'. it just feels like a mutually agreed upon name.
also, i love seeing the inclusive posts on black, white, hispanic, asian, etc women in the community! i love seeing the posts of people using beyonce or sabrina carpenter for aesthetics on singer!reader. all of it is amazing, don't feel discouraged to continue that theme! we love inclusivity and having fun in this house, that's what michael was all about!
he said it himself and 'black or white' exists you guys! if you're thinking about being his baby, it don't matter if you're black or white! unless the author is actively offending or being offensive towards racial groups in their writing, don't ruin other people's shine in their writing! we all come up with different ideas and aesthetics, and sometimes that comes in the form of different things. after all, race could have nothing to do with it, people could just like the aesthetic of that certain person and decide to use it! it's okay, and keep writing y'all!🤍
anyways y'all, i physically CANNOT stress this enough. you're beautiful, your writing is beautiful, your art is amazing, you shine like a special diamond in a cave full of crystals, and you should never let that lightbulb above your head dim!

Michael wiped his hands on his slacks, he’d been stuck there in the waiting room for 2 hours.
He’d been in rehearsals for his tour and immediately rushed to the hospital at the drop of a hat when his assistant told him that you were in labor back in California whilst he was Seattle, taking the quickest flight there immediately.
His leg shook up and down rapidly, his hands clasped together and clammy, nervous about everything.
He wanted to be in there, but the doctors said that he could only wait because it was an emergency c-section and there was no room in the delivery room.
He then suddenly stood up as the doctor came in the empty waiting room. The doctor smiled. “It’s a boy, and your wife is doing quite well.” Michael let out a sob, relieved as he got assisted by a bunch of nurses to get into protective equipment.
Once he opened those doors, he saw you laying down on the hospital bed as your baby rested on your chest.
He watched the relief and joy overcome your face as he approached. He then took his son in his arms, revering you both. The two people he loved most in his life.
“Are you okay, honey? I…I’m sorry I got here late, I tried to —“ You shushed him as you chuckled when tears welled in his eyes, you wiped his face with a tired hand, he could feel how warm and soft your hand was, the affection in your eyes.
“I’m okay. It’s okay, Michael. What matters now is that you’re here, and that you’re holding our son.” You assured him in a soft, hoarse voice as you coughed a little. The baby gurgled in his arms, he felt such joy and shock wave over him.
“Okay…okay…did you name him yet?” Michael asked as he watched you blink slowly and shake your head. You then smiled tiredly. “I was thinking of naming him…” You brushed your finger over your son’s forehead gently. “Michael Joseph Jackson Jr.”
Michael stared at you, a smile overtaking his face, he felt so overwhelmed as tears rolled down his face. You laughed softly, clearing your throat.
“Why would you want to name him after me, honey?”
“Because he has a big ol’ head like you, applehead.” You joked quietly, making Michael laugh and the baby gurgle loudly, as if little baby Michael protested.
“But really…I think we should name him after the greatest man I ever knew.” You murmured softly as you caressed your son’s cheek and then held Michael’s face.
Michael then held your hand on his face tightly as you coughed a little. He furrowed his brows as he adjusted his hold on your baby. “You alright, baby?” You nodded slowly, a smile on your tired face.
“Yeah.” You muttered once as you breathed out slowly.
“Michael?”
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“I love you the most.” Michael laughed softly as you did too.
“Are you trying to argue with me right now, honey?”
“Yeah, just because I gave birth to our son, doesn’t mean I don’t have that fire in me.” You rebutted with a small chuckle, making Michael smile widely and rub your cheek. “You’re such a fighter, honey.”
“Michael?”
“Yes?”
“I’ll go to sleep now…I’m really tired.” “Okay, honey. We’ll be right by your side. Sleep well. I love you.”
“I love you.”
You smiled and closed your eyes, dozing off to sleep as Michael cradled little Michael Jr. humming a lullaby.

Michael woke up to the sound of your hospital bed thudding against the wall. He snapped his eyes open as he saw you convulsing.
He hurriedly pressed the emergency button by your bed and the doctors, nurses rushed in. He held Michael Jr. in his arms tightly, the little boy crying loudly.
“(Name)! (Name)?! Wake up, baby, please! What’s wrong? What’s wrong with my wife?!”
“Sir! Please exit the room now!”
“No! Someone, please tell me what’s going on, she’s my wife, please!”
“Sir, I’m sorry, but please stay here until we fully assess what’s happening!”
Then the door closed behind the hospital staff, Michael looked down at his baby in his arms and rocked his son to stop crying despite the fact he was crying himself.
After what felt like hours, Michael was sitting by the door, cradling his son as the doctors left your room.
Katherine and his family had arrived an hour ago with congratulations balloons and were waiting with him outside. Katherine took little Michael from his arms when Michael stood up.
Michael approached the doctors who all had unsure expressions on their faces, they took off their medical caps and put it near their chests.
“We’re so sorry but…”
“Mrs. (Name) Jackson didn’t make it.”
Michael nodded slowly, not processing the information as the family gasped behind him, tears immediately forming in their eyes.
“Right…right. But, is she okay?”
“Michael…she’s gone.” Marlon said through tears.
“No, no, she isn’t. She’s in that room, Marlon. Doctor, she was having some coughs and clearing her throat a lot —“
Michael ranted out, as he wiped his face with his hands. The family felt their heart break as the doctors held their heads down.
Michael then entered the room you were in and started hugging you, pulling the sheet off your face and kissing your face.
“She’s just knocked out by the meds, right doc?” He murmured as Rebbie, Janet, and Latoya faced away, they couldn’t bear to see this. His brothers all felt weak in the knees and sat down on the floor or leaned on the wall.
The doctors tried to explain that you had a pulmonary embolism; a blood clot got stuck in your lungs.
He shook his head as he looked down at you, eyebrows furrowed.
“No…no, she’s just sleeping. Look, she looks so peaceful when she sleeps doesn’t she?” He said with a weak chuckle.
“Son.” Joseph’s voice snapped him out of his numbness. “…She’s gone.” He said, and for the first time, he saw Joseph with a sorrowful expression.
Michael broke down.
“No…that…that can’t happen. She was just fine a few hours ago…she went to sleep and told me — I love you…” He sobbed out as Joseph left the room, not able to bear letting anyone see his tears fall.
Michael pressed his forehead on yours, he put your hand on his cheek, feeling how cold and rigid it was, your eyes were closed. You were gone.

I would say that Jackson!reader would be teased so bad by her sisters and egged on by who the crush is when she’s older. The brothers would be protective but I see Jackie , Tito, and Jermaine at least being civil with it while Randy, Marlon, and Michael are a little more on the guy’s case cause that’s their baby sister. Even though at the end it’s all love, Michael would’ve been the one to always welcome the crush as his future brother in law.
