HALLOWEEN II: DAWN OF THE EMOJIS
Ernst Stuckelberg (detail)
like we had this whole conversation with white men years ago on privledge to which they always responded (and still respond) that being white never gave them any benefits and now people think that when they log online and go 'but I'm XYZ!' that like. cancels out the fact that they're still white. this isn't about being the most oppressed or whatever, this is about the idea that you are somehow not culpable in institutionalized racism bc you're disprivleged in other ways or how some of you skate around it very obviously in order to try and relieve yourself of your responsibility to listen to minorites other than yourself or others like you

Please donate to this shelter! I know someone who works there and they said they could really use money to pay for the cats’ medical bills, since they take in cats that are disabled and would probably not survive at a regular shelter, so please help some cats in need!!
お魚ーーー!
it says a lot that people on this website are more likely to call trans women terfs and terf-adjacent for not liking being called “queer” or for tagging the q-slur, than they are to actually support trans women who need money to survive & trans women talking about their experiences with transmisogyny.
nobody wants to actually boost trans women’s voices or listen to our opinions about our portrayal in fiction, laws about us, what we are regarded as scientifically, politically & socially etc, they just want to be like “wow trans women r queenz!!!” and reblog a bunch of pastel edits saying “respect pronouns!!!!” and “trans women are real women!!!”. some of the people who complain most about performative progressivism are the worst to do in regards to trans women and it’s super obvious lol.

When your dad tries to guilt trip you into visiting him: “well I guess I’ll just spend the weekend all by myself...”
You say “glad to know we’re on the same page.” Slowly, he will have to adapt to just outright telling you what he thinks instead of playing mind games.
When your friend tries to hint that they’re mad at you without saying anything: “Oh, I’m fine, clearly you don’t need to worry about me,”
You say: “I’m glad you’re doing well. Call me if you want to talk, though!” Soon enough, they will accept that they can’t be passive aggressive with you.
When your boyfriend says: “All your friends are great, I really love *insert male friend* especially.”
You say: “I’m so glad you like my friends! I should invite them back soon.” He needs to understand that if he has a problem with your friends, he needs to just voice his concerns instead of being sarcastic and accusatory.
As someone who has lived through several toxic relationships and has an abusive father, I think one of the most important manipulation tools a toxic person has is excessive subtext and hidden meanings in their conversation. It hides all of the actual fighting from the eyes of onlookers while still hurting you, which is scary and makes you feel like you’re making it all up. Don’t put up with this bs. Make them stop hiding.
Make. Them. Say. What. They. Mean.
So a friend of mine made this based off a fb status I made and now it’s *everywhere*
this post made me lose a follower

things i never expected to learn through a tedtalk but now am glad to know:
the founder of Sirius XM radio is a sapphic trans woman and is currently trying to preserve her wife’s consciousness in a digital file so her wife can be immortal in the body of a robot.
heres the tedtalk if you dont believe because everyone deserves to know this reality of the amazing world in which we live
Holy shit you neglected to mention that when her daughter got a terminal disease with no cure or treatment possible she literally went to the library got some medical textbooks and taught herself enough biochemistry to actually begin developing a drug that halted the disease good god why have we never heard of this absolute genius
YOU KNOW WHY YOU K N O W W H Y
Real life tony stark is a gay trans woman
Her name is Martine Rothblatt. She also founded United Therapeutics, which is a company that works to find cures for “””small””” diseases that don’t necessarily affect a lot of people.
oh, yes–and she’s Jewish.
Here is a picture of Martine and her wife, Bina Aspen:

“let women get plastic surgery!” is such a cold take like please think critically for once and stop trying to turn it into an empowerment movement for women. growing up arab, i have several cousins who were pressured into getting a nose job since it’s so normalized in my culture and i’m constantly shamed by my family members for not considering it. it’s hurtful and awful especially now with facetune and snapchat filters making your nose look more narrow
i didn’t realize this morning rant gathered some notes until now so i’ll add on to this. plastic surgery companies capitalize on the insecurities of women of color and it’s based on racist beauty standards it should never be glorified
people in activist movements are constantly getting these concepts confused. “let’s not jugde a person for doing this” is not the same as “this is empowering”
if you only support “passing” trans women then you don’t support trans women so just jot that one down
