30. How do they respond to new people or situations? Are they suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

It’s a combination of relaxed interest. Relaxed because that’s just how he is naturally, taking things in stride and such. Excitement because he enjoys being in new situations, something that can shake up his constants, give him something entirely new to learn and experience. He isn’t afraid of asking questions and being openly curious because he’s never sure if he’d have this chance again.

35. What moments in this character’s life have defined them as a person?

The moment where everything just clicked and he realized he had the capability of being much more than an Angel mindlessly following orders is a big one. It was probably around the time he realized how much he enjoyed the human race despite not really interacting with them that much.

42. Are there other, unrelated people whom they considers part of their family? What are their relationships with them?

Not really, Kaworu isn’t the type who can easily for or keep those type of emotional attachments. People have the tendency to be wary of him, so they tend to keep their distance anyway. Who knows though, this might change in citta if he can find a person or two that can put up with him.

14. Do they dress the same on the job as they do in their free time? If not, what are the differences?

If you consider is job piloting Eva then yes, he dresses differently. His standard plug suit is very different than the school uniform he wears (though he doesn’t even have to wear the school uniform.) Other than that, like if he somehow landed himself a normal job, I don’t think he’d dress all that differently.

21. Are they a good impromptu speaker, or do they have to think about their words?

Actually he used to be really bad at it, like not bad bad just very straight forward and blunt and not as careful as he should probably have been. Nowadays, he’s better at it, knows how to read certain types of people in ways that allows him to figure out what to say without being to straightforward and odd. So basically yes, he’s good at impromptu speaking though he might say odd things every now and again, but that’s just due to how his mind functions more than anything.

37. What are their hopes or aspirations?

He wants to find if not help form the perfect world where Shinji can be happy. A very simple thing, but extremely hard to achieve.

62. What is their social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected them?

Seeing as though he comes from a world where that sort of stuff doesn’t matter, he doesn’t really have one. The people that “raised” him might consider him a lesser being since he isn’t human and was only created to follow orders and such. It doesn’t really affect him since in return he basically uses those people for his own personal advancements as well.

He would have remembered coming here in particular, but his mind draws a blank at the idea. ❝I’m sorry if it upsets you.❞

What was she expected to do, really? Homura was a huge nerd, after all. Just being around the kid made her smile.

“I should ask you something, though. What was the last thing you remember before coming here? Something tells me that messing around with memories you might not yet have wouldn’t turn out well. After all, not everyone here is taken from the same point in time and space.”

He blinks twice, the idea of being teased not going totally over his head but something that doesn’t happen that often. Kaworu supposes there’s no harm in it, so he shrugs his shoulders, keeping his smile as friendly as he can. ❝That’s alright I don’t mind.❞ If he does end up minding, he’ll learn to live with it.

❝I died.❞ Answer comes without hesitation,;death, although an unpleasant, has been experienced enough by the Angel that he’s rather jaded to the idea of it happening to himself. But he realizes that’s not a good answer, he dies quite often. ❝But most of the workers had left NERV due to the Near Third Impact and created WILLE which is now bent on destroying all of NERV’s Evas. does that sound familiar?❞

Almost naturally, she comes to the conclusion that this conversation is senseless. Discussing language and social cues with someone isn’t going to get her anywhere – especially not back to a point of potential power. She assumes all is said and done, the itch to leave already in both the heels of her feet, until the stranger mentions a war. High-tech weaponry and the like is intriguing, but she could care less about getting involved.

Why bother, when her stronger suits so clearly lie in both hands and feet, a power that was no less a birthright than it was a curse? “Not if you know what you’re doing.” But she doesn’t disclose more than that – whoever this is doesn’t need to be suspicious of her. While her fists are poor liars, that doesn’t mean she’s never been an apt receiver when it comes to seeing through others, and reading between the lines. “Your people were close to extinction?” That’s the first time she’s heard something so nostalgic around here, and it doesn’t slip past Annie in the slightest. “Looks like that applies in most places. There’s always some idiot carried away with ‘hope’, I guess. Where does that leave you?”

His head shakes at the question, deny it. ❝The human race was close to extinction.❞ My people were not is the unspoken piece of the sentence, doesn’t find the need to tack it on. If it was really something he wanted for, Kaworu could very much consider himself at least half human, but instead fully accepts his blue blood as an Angel above all else. He could blame the fact that he was raised into, but he rarely does or admit things about himself that other people drill into his head. It’s due to his own will that he sets himself apart from humans despite the fact that he was created to blend into their society. He isn’t a fan of lying so he always tries to make a distinct separation between him and them.

He takes the inquiry into consideration, head titled skyward in thought. ❝I suppose I am driven mad by hope.❞ Words come smoothly and small shrug is given. One does not spend countless years trying to find someone the happiness that they deserve and not be driven nearly mad because of it at least a few times. ❝I’m a realist in some cases though, so I assume it levels itself out, if that’s how it works.❞ He exhales a breath, turns his head locks eyes once more with the blonde. ❝What about you then? When it comes to a thing like hope are you carried away or have you lost it entirely?❞

White lashes brushing against his cheeks a few times before he accepts it as that. he can’t say he’s had much interaction with people outside the normal constants he always seemed to face, but even among them there were people with images to uphold, and reveled in the use of honorifics directed at them. ❝Well, you do seem like a kind of person who deserves respect but if you’d rather me not use an honorific, then I won’t.❞

Two years doesn’t seem so bad all things considered, though it might seem long to some people. Kaworu finds that he doesn’t mind being here exactly, not when he has extra time tacked on a life that ended quicker than he would have expected. ❝Yes, I’m fairly new here, haven’t even hit a full month of being here. It doesn’t seem so bad being here, since it’s a place you can make a life for yourself. You are a testament to that.❞

That was, before his initial plans were foiled by the presence of another individual nearby. Visibly shaken, peeling back the accessory from his face as he remained relatively anonymous in the distance, Ken questioned the stranger.

As one who does not need a normal amount of sleep to stay fully functioning, Kaworu finds nights to be terribly boring. There is little to do and very few of activities that go on in the city after hours catch his interest. He finds himself walking without a set destination in mind; half hoping that such a mindless activity would help him pass the time at a quicker rate.

Sudden view of a stranger within his line of sight does nothing to bother the Angel. Rather, he allows his head to cant to the side slightly, keeping his hands placed deep in his pockets. Apology proffered means nothing since he wasn’t bothered, rather he just shrugs his shoulders to convey that no harm was done.

❝Most wouldn’t be.❞ The Angel agrees, tone casual with each word. ❝I probably am lost since I don’t know my way around here yet, but I didn’t have any particular end destination in mind. Would that count as being lost?❞

Mato’s eyes flicker from his hair back to his face, reaction delayed as she nearly whispers the word under her breath. His answer sinks in– and her eyes widen in unmuted surprise.

❝ But that’s not safe, is it? People can’t live underground! It’s scary! ❞

Exclamation partially expected, the Angel gives a shrug as the rebuttal. He takes her words into consideration, shifts through appropriate responses before coming forth with a reply he hopes to quell her worries some.

❝There are a lot of people that stay underground, so they tend to make due. It can be unsafe and I suppose it can be frightening depending on how far you wander out. All things considered, it can be a lot safer than places above ground.❞

“Oops.” Laying in midair, the ice cream cone in her hand had melted somewhat sideways, tumbling over her hand and down to the crowd below. “Look out below!”

Though mind is elsewhere, preoccupied by a useless train of thought, the boy is not too far gone to have himself fall totally deaf to the warning spoken for somewhere. A quick glance upward and a quicker step back cause the avoidance of ice cream falling atop his head. It isn’t however, enough to avoid the rebounding bits of the once perfectly good treat to land on the tips of his shoe.

No harm done though and eyes are raised skyward once more, half smile given at the figure hovering in the air.

Of course, she didn’t exactly want to lie, but would make explaining everything else so much easier. Plus, not every part of it was entirely a lie, anyway. Just omissions, twisting the truth a bit, letting him fill in the blanks.

“You know, when I was last there, we were running these operations, where we hooked some kids about your age up into this really high tech machines and had them solve some problems for us. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you now, Nagisa Kaworu?”

He lets her speak without interruption, sorts through the information given to him. She doesn’t mention WILLE so he supposes she was taken before all that went down, but she doesn’t seem to look that old unless people don’t age here. He doubts it though, concludes that she’s from a universe that bypassed the Third Impact or the Near Third Impact or whatever they liked to call it. The fact that she mentions his name before he gives it is reason enough to believe so.

❝Shouldn’t you know the answer to that yourself?❞ he doesn’t know how rude that question might come off as, speaks it with genuine curiosity just in case. ❝You are aware of my name and the operations. If you’re worried about me feigning naivety I won’t, it would be easier not to.❞

♧ Any part of their canon portrayal you dislike?

Now that I thought about it, he equates love with empathy or he used to or still does or whatever which can be seen as problematic. I don’t mind it too much personally since that was stated back in the anime and it wasn’t mentioned in Rebuild. I guess it’s just one of those early time traveling Kaworu things.

✎ What do you wish the author would reveal/had revealed about your muse?

Anything and everything. Honestly, I just want to see Kaworu grow up in Seele headquarters. I need to know what he went through.

♢ What's your opinion on different interpretations of your muse?

I’m usually okay with them but I’ve never rped with a Kaworu before despite how long I’ve been rping. He’s such an ambiguous character, so he can be rped a lot of different ways.
