I wish the irken species wasn't created and defined by the show Invader Zim

There's a lot of cultural and political irken stuff that's just... like... we forget it only exists in our own system. It feels isolating

We wish there was at least a fandom that could somewhat reflect our species in a serious way, but all we get is this shitty 2d (no pun intended) caricature, with a minefield of a problematic fandom

I wish irkens were like elves where they just... exist. Not defined by one canon or interpenetration
