Jay would like to wish you all a Happy Canada day!
Sorry for being so inactive these past few days, guys - weekends are always really busy for me. I'll be online much more Monday!
ahhhhh why was picking a fandom name for Jay a thing
can that not be a thing
If you call me a tosspot one more fucking time.
She grinned a little and lowered her head to the ground with a little laugh, trying to focus on the last time theyâd met. Binary star systems - colliding and destroying and something beautiful in the making (and that was the nicest way of putting it), angels eating humans, something bruised, cruel, and sarcastic. He was nice to tease, she remembered, and that was good because she was thinking she might have to torch a martini and slam it down to entertain herself.
She made a low and unsure noise as she brought her head up and grimaced, following it up with a shrug and a non-judgmental close of her eyes that said she was doing the exact opposite, ââDragonâ, huh? Canât imagine many hens geâ as far as thâ door if they havâ tae call ye thaâ. âCourse, ye couldae tattooed it oan yer knuckles.â The vain little thing preened with her nickname, practically heralding him like a cat would with someone falling right into her trap for milk and treats.
âFer thâ record, lovâââ She said casually, rolling her shoulder along the wall to step closer to him, âI donâ sound like a drunk Craig Ferguson.â And it had been true, for the most part; American wasnât something she fancied nor wanted to be part of. âAnâ I <I>donâ</I> waste time oan broomsticks like ye, unless oâcourse theyâre tellinâ nocunt in particular tae fuck them.â
Quieting down, Freydisâ gaze sharpened and she smirked the smile of a madwoman, raising an eyebrow and licking the middle of her bottom lip, âAh ⊠I donâ know, is yer career dyinâ? Ye had so much tae live for, wee lambâŠâÂ
âAye, only rolled in spliffs, though. See, if I had incentive tae share them, I might consider ye in thaâ close anâ personal circle. As ât is, âm thinkinâ of blowinâ this place anâ returning hame â pure dead luck for ye, aye?â
He'd been away for so long, distracted by the high-speed lifestyle of writing, producing, acting, and playing with his cats. He'd slowly forgotten about all those besides Seth, the many people he'd encountered and gotten a hair's width of connection with.Â
Freydis, however, was hard to forget. With her small body but loud personality, her entire essence screaming a giant "fuck you, I'd like to see you try" to the skies. She didn't try being independent, being strong-willed, being proud - she just was,and not many people could say that much about themselves. At first she was a pretty face, that fiery blonde with the clever glint in her eye that he liked - but after seeing her a few more passing times, he grew to crave her wit, the snotty way she threw all of his rogue comments back in his face with an amused chortle and a Scottish flair he didn't yet understand.Â
But he wanted to.
"Oh yeah, lining up at the door," he said with a wave of the hand. "And just how many knuckles do you think I have?" He added, examining his own knuckles for added effect.Â
He couldn't help but bark out a laugh. "Eh, sorry, I give what I get to work with," he said. "I worked with Craig for a while, so he's all the experience I've got."Â
He canted his head a bit, running his hand over his mouth as he thought about her phrasing. "As you implied," he said carefully, "I don't exactly have people lining up at the door. I'm more of the naively-wait-for-the-right-girl type." He shrugged, as if it didn't matter.Â
"What makes you say that?" he asked, smirking down at her. "Is it because I've been dedicating more time to writing, or that I've spent more time in Canada, or that you're just trying to poke a tosspot like me into revealing his insecurities?" He shook his head. "I don't care if my career dies. I like what I do. There's always something to do in this godforsaken country, anyway, eh?
"And here I thought I was being interesting enough to motivate you to stay. I was glad to see you again - I'd be crushed if you left now. Honestly, there could be tears."Â
I love him when heâs obnoxious
#remember when we were actually able to laugh at offensive things because that was okay #you're worried about the government taking away rights we didn't even have in the first place and standing up for rape culture and other movements but /you're/ what's making us thoughtcriminals #and i have never seen it that way until just now
You seem surprised that you got that ask, going off your tags on it, but you made a post and tagged it rape culture. Of course that is what would come your way.
Iâm not really surprised. Iâm never surprised when people start shit on tumblr. At least the anon was polite about it. I donât mind a discussion, otherwise I wouldnât have posted the original message to begin with.Â
This is not, however, how I will be spending the rest of my night.
this is the end may not have fed into rape culture for YOU, but most of the people who were against this movie and actively wrote about received rape threats. some got their blog hacked because others were so pissed that they were speaking up. you might not believe that it feeds into rape culture, but the community of this is the end fans (at least in the tags) have NOT made it safe for people to speak opposite opinions on the movie. receiving rape threats for speaking out IS rape culture.
Iâve already spoken to two blogs about this, as Iâve seen it happening as well. I would never wish rape upon anyone, because Iâve had rape wished upon me before on this website, and itâs never okay. Those that go on anon and wish rape upon people that feel this movie feeds rape culture is, of course, fucked on a bunch of different levels.Â
What makes me angry about the whole ordeal is the fact that people who havenât seen the movie, who have no idea what itâs about, see posts like this and go âsee, I thought it would be like that. Iâm never seeing it and Iâm telling all my friends that itâs a shitty movie that features only rape jokes." Sorry, you canât speak on a movieâs behalf until youâve seen it. Done. I respect the opinions of others, and people don't have to like the movies I like. I'm allowed to point out why I think arguments are invalid.
I feel like Iâve been lumped into this awkward pit: I support TITE, so I therefore condone all rape humor. Iâm a woman that has survived sexual abuse, and do I feel victimized against by this movie? No. Was I reminded of my own ordeal? No. Do I think that the biggest message the audience gets out of this movie is that rape is okay?
No.
peeled off wallflowers | Jay&Morgana
In some ways, Morgana had always been a young woman. She blossomed from her youth sooner and with more grace than most. In high school, her beauty and personality had won her seat with what you could call the âpopularâ crowd. Though once that time had passed, she didnât keep in touch with her high school buddies much. Ever since then sheâd become more of a introverted person. Though she still had that smooth sociability if the situation called for it. Yet, every time without fail that feeling like she was trying to hide some dark and unspeakable secret crept up on her and she needed space.Â
Which was why she had found herself a nice little balcony to camp out on and hoped that no one would follow her out here for a few moments of peace anyways. Not that she minded accompanying her brother to these fancy parties, she just needed a minute⊠ Weight rested on the railing by her forearms, and her fingertip absently circled the rim of her cup as she looked up at the sky. One thing she didnât like about big cities - you couldnât see the stars.Â
When the sound of the sliding door opened suddenly, she sighed and dropped her head. At least let it be someone bearable⊠Morgana glanced over her shoulder to see who had joined her, it was someone she knew (well - of course she did this party was full of famous people) but he certainly wouldnât know her. Despite her slight annoyance she smiled at him so he wouldnât feel like he had to flee, who knowsâŠmaybe he was out here for the same reason as her. And if he turned out to be a drunk asshole trying to pick her up after all, wellâŠshe could handle herself well enough.Â
His was worse than a catastrophe; this was nuclear meltdown. People baying about their careers, about who fucked who - all pointless yammering that Jay wanted no part of. Talking career was one thing (he liked actually talking to people that took pride in their work, exchanging stories of writing, producing, and being proud of their resumes), but most just wanted to flaunt their highest grossing films in other's faces, waiting for that one person that would listen to their nomination stories and hope for a good lay later that night.Â
Yeah, no thanks.Â
"Yeah, thanks, boys," he said with a wave, turning tail and practically running from the mob and back out the door, beer in one hand and the lining of his jacket pocket in the other. His feet took him through the foreign house and up some steps, where he eventually found a door that didn't lead to a bedroom. With a quick jerk, he stepped into the open air, letting a hard breath out his nose in relief.
It was rather short-lived, as he saw that someone was already there. She turned, giving a smile that rang slightly false, silently greeting him. He appreciated the invite, and closed the door with a hiss. "Sorry, didn't mean to intrude on your private island," he said, waving his hands. "I wouldn't want to be in there, either.
"Name's Jay," he said by way of greeting, giving another wave, mouth slanted sideways in a hesitant smile. He was trying for disarming, as he didn't exactly feel like pissing off one of the only people here he didn't know.Â
