Rodimus wouldn’t admit it, even if asked, but yes, there was a high pitched squeak that wriggled from his vocalizer. Heat dashed to his face and the sly smirk had morphed into that of embarrassment. “You’re pretty good at this, soldier,” he teased, trying to recover for the most part.
He wasn’t really achieving much, aside from embarrassing himself further. Thinking about that chuckle or smile, no matter how brief, didn’t really help matters either.
"So, what does the codes say about favoritism," he teased, leaning over and brushing his lips over Magnus’s helm crest. "I want to know how much time I’m staying in the brig."
There's a rumble to his engine in amusement at the other's squeak, but he doesn't patronize the major. Instead his servo moves, briefly trailing over one of the other's heated cheeks in a brief gesture of affection before his servo slides back down to the mech's waist.
"I've been trained well," is his serious response, allowing his digits to trail over armor in a search for any scrapes or dents. Outliers they would be, no doubt. Rodimus was rather good at keeping his frame up to date.
"Section thirty-eight of chapter nine dictates in lines two through ten that acts of favoritism can result in several punishments." He starts, blue gaze flickering at that kiss to his helm crest and he can't help but push up against it.
"In less severe cases, favoritism can include; up to 24 hours of brig time," he adds, allowing his servo to trail up the mech's spinal strut with a thoughtful hum as his optics dim. "Cutbacks in personal rations, movement of troops involved to different platoons--" he breaks off there a moment, letting his gaze trail back up to the mech's faceplating a moment and trace over his features.
"But, personally, I would be more about the most severe punishment. According to line eleven, crossing over onto page two-hundred-six in edition three-- "--extreme cases of favoritism that result in a lack of troop moral, complication on missions, or as deemed by the council-- officers of higher rank may be demoted and moved to the front line." However--" he cuts off once more, servo stopping it's idle motions in a moment of hesitation as his optics flicker and focus to the side.
"I will not tell if you don't," that was a bit strange for him to say, even in this playful setting. He almost felt bad for the theoretical thought. He'll bat those negative emotions away quickly, though, as he lifts his helm up briefly to press an almost timid kiss to the major's lips before falling back to rest on the berth with a follow up, "Sir."
You’re still a nerd
That word has no meaning to me, literally. It sounds as if you are tossing around gibberish.
Couches
Oh hey, Rodimus got a kiss back and a friendly rumble that brought the major sliding on top of Magnus’s frame. Fingers glide over armor, a rumble of his own engine teasing as he pressed forward briefly then pulled back.
"Hey," he purred, resting his forehead against the commander’s. He couldn’t stop that grin sneaking across his face, optics dimming slowly and mouth brushing over the corner of his. "You know… there’s this thing called a bed. We have them. They trump the couch, and room for me to tuck in next to you."
He wished he could have hid that playful tease from his tone, maybe made it sound like an ‘order’, but with lip plating still tingling it was impossible.
There's a quiet chuckle, escaping without any restraint in his groggy state. "Hey," he repeats, his own servos already roaming and idly pressing into seams in response to those that glide over his frame.
"Maybe that was the plan," he continues a moment later, systems giving a low hum as they began their proper start up. "Perhaps I wanted to wake up with you on top of me, not next."
Excuse him, tired and woken up in the privacy of his own quarters with the major might have left him a bit unguarded. Primus smile upon him and give him 2.2 seconds to actually register what he said, because he'd never admit to saying something like that.

distaste intensifies
Guilt swirled and clawed at his spark the moment conflict painted Magnus’s face. Rodimus’s mischief faded and he shifted upward, palms flat against the surface of the berth and gaze focused on Ultra Magnus. His smile softened, head tilted.
"Energon can wait," he admitted, lifting a hand to beckon him closer. His optics brightened, a flicker of shyness nearly piercing through. "It’s been awhile since we’ve got to just… chill."
A slight pause, then Rodimus flashed a sly smile, an idea forming in his head.
"So, since I’m something of a boss… I order you to get over and let me curl up on you."
The mech's mouth opens, ready to recite the importance and necessity of energon intake before the other beckons him over, words trailing off and almost pulling him forward.
It's that sly smile, however, and the mech's next words that put him into motion, an amused rumble of his engine the closest thing he allows to a chuckle as he moves forward.
And then it's simply a matter of "flopping" on the berth, combined with the movement of his arms to tug the mech over and atop his frame, to fufil the other's demands, and, if you looked close enough, you just might be able to catch that smile before it disappeared.
"Yes sir."

Ultra Magnus asleep on the couch? Well, that was an unacceptable place for the commander to be recharging, and Rodimus wasn’t have any of that.
The smaller frame scurried up close and leaned over the larger one. No hesitation in closing the gap between their lips, offering up a wake up before I terrorize Kaon kiss.
Resting in 'unacceptable' places wasn't exactly unusual for the commander, most of the time they simply happened to be the most opportune and he'd simply find himself nodding off.
The couch, really, wasn't the worst place he'd found himself waking up in, and normally he'd wake up a bit disoriented, groggy, and instantly set himself back to work.
And then Rodimus showed up, and he instantly found his start-ups far more worth the recharge. As always, each time the mech decided the best way to wake him up was with a kiss, he'd find his systems jolting online and optics soon following suit.
The second he realized just who it was, Magnus melted underneath his Major, blue gaze dimming into a more relaxed state as his mouth automatically moved to give a sloppy, lazy kiss in return with a pleased rumble of his engines.
WAR doesn’t determine who’s right
Just who’s {left}
"Are you saying I’m an over-fueler?" He playfully pouted up at Magnus, not bothering to memorize the code as he normally would. He didn’t plan on coming back without Magnus. "That hurts my feelings."
The moment he can, he stepped into the room, untangling his frame from the commanders. He didn’t bother to glance around or take in his surroundings. No, he was going to seek out the berth and hop up, laying back and wriggling until comfortable.
"I’m cold," he whined, wiggling and motioning Magnus over. His grin was firmly in place, optics bright and twinkling with amusement. "Warm me up?"
Magnus isn't even going to give a direct response to that playful pout and simply give the mech the look before allowing the mech to step in before himself, honestly not trying to acknowledge that disappointment at the lack of heat at his side.
He allows the mech to do what he deems necessary as he makes his way to one side of the room to dispose of his small load. The mech, always one for order, takes a moment to straighten out the small stack before he's turning to approach the keypad just a few steps away.
Half way, however, he comes to a stop at that whine and, after glancing to the smaller mech, he looks conflicted.
Ultra Magnus, literal giant child.
"I thought you'd want energon?" He questions, not sure rather to continue forth and grab the mech a cube, or to comply with his request and, happily he should add, gather the small major into his arms.

Magnus earned a quiet, but amused chuckle from the Major that seemed to be attached to his side. It didn’t stop the petting either, because that hum was nice and Rodimus had to make a mental note that biolights were a go for berthmate.
The mention that it was ‘home’, not ‘Magnus’ home’ but just ‘home’. He wasn’t even corrected, and as Magnus spoke and led him along, he was practically floating. “I’m absolutely honored that you take the time out of your busy schedule to socialize with me,” he teased, nestle close.
Otherwise, he’d remain silent until they reached the quarters. He’d actually appear rather calm compared to the bouncy pest he’d made his name out to be. He didn’t even flaunt for the most part, just stayed pressed against Magnus and listening to the quiet hum of his systems.
When they’d reach their destination, he’d blink aware of his surroundings. Something kind of hit him, standing there and waiting for Ultra Magnus to lead him in.
"… hey, why do you get the room with Energon storage?" Given his quarters had been small, and hardly used, and once he lived in a basement, he’d always wondered how officers got better rooms than him.
"Anytime," was his simple, truthful response that escaped his vocaliser after a small pause. The rest of the walk is silent, which, Magnus sup\poses, is a good thing. Because, as much as he enjoyed Rodimus' voice, he himself wasn't all that great with his responses.
Outside of regulation and lecturing, Magnus was honestly a bit useless.
When they reach his set of quarters, and the mech speaks, he can't help but scoff. It's a soft sound, hardly existent in his humor as his optics brighten. "Because, Rodimus," he retorts gently, easily typing in the code to grant them access. "Everyone knows I'm not going to drink it all."
