Is it October and way too late to start any new gardening projects? Yes. Did that stop me from making a fairy garden today? Nope.
I have become overwhelmed with succulent babies lol
Repotted my lithops!! I now have a bowl of lithops😍

I love Sarcochilus orchids, because they’re compact and easy to grow, but they’re usually really expensive and hard to find in the SW. The Tucson orchid show had a ton of them on sale this morning, so I picked up this Sarco. “Royal Red” x Camira White “50 Cents” and a smaller white x white cross (which I’ll repot and photograph shortly)
Australian growers tend to pot them in fine bark and aquarium gravel. I opted for fine bark with a layer of sphagnum at the top of the pot to retain a bit of extra humidity. This one has a great root system, 6+ established fans, and another 3-4 coming in. Not quite sure what to expect with the flowers, since I’m not familiar with Sarco genetics, but I like a mystery! I think this one has a really lovely growth habit.
And the rest of the succulents! The first two photos are of some kind of haworthia venosa, the third photo is of a crassula rosularis (or crassula orbicularis var. rosularis) and in the fourth photo there’s a kalanchoe (it was only labeled as kalanchoe ‘azumi’). The kalanchoe was on sale and I got it on an impulse, but the haworthia venosa and crassula rosularis are plants that I’ve wanted for a long time.

Speckly man has settled in handsomely and has perked up some. The furled leaf is also slowly opening.
Went to the plant store today!
