Hi hun, i'm currently using your "turning tables" theme and i'm not sure whats happening but whenever I click on a post to view it, it only comes up with the tags and notes and not the actual post. I'm not sure if that makes sense but yeah the actual post wont come up when i click on the notes to view it. If you could help that would be amazing xxx

that’s a reoccurring problem people have been having and i honestly cannot find a fix :( i’ll keep trying and see what’s happening

This is nice method to keep under your belt to make pretty gifs! It works for other types of effects as long as you can find a black and white stock video of it. As you can see here, I have one of a smoke effect and an ink spread effect but you can pretty much use any others as well.

Things you need:

GIMP

Animstack (Super useful)

G’MIC (Useful for this effect)

A black and white stock video (For this tutorial, I’m doing the ink one which is the one on the right.)

The number of frames for your stock video gif and two other gifs (make sure they all have the same number of frames)

adding the fancy font to a custom theme

many people have asked me about how to make the fancy font, as well as two other styles, show on a custom theme. 

1. copy @aprilsylph‘s code from here anywhere between <head> and </head> in the ‘edit html’ of your theme. 

2. then replace these lines

p.npf_quirky{font-family:Fairwater;} p.npf_chat{font-family:Courier;} p.npf_quote{font-family:Calluna;}

with these to get the larger, title-like size.

Fix Tumblr’s new controls!

I have come up with 3 ways you can fix the tumblr controls on your blog:

The tumblr controls are always visible but are smaller and more appealing to the eye.

The tumblr controls are again smaller but are only visible on hover over a small icon.

The default controls are replaced by custom links.

Installation and (partial) previews: version 1, version 2, version 3.

The icons used in version 1 and 2 are outicons. All of my themes have been updated and you can now choose between all three of these option.

I created Coding Haven, a discord server where we can share web development resources and help each other as a community.

This server is open to theme makers of all levels who want to share their work as well as ask for and provide help.

You only need to do two things to join:

1. have at least one code released 2. reblog this post and send a message here asking for the discord link Rules.

The server will have more in-depth information however I felt it was important to note these rules before joining.

no harassment/bullying of any kind

no stealing/copying codes or designs

keep all messages in appropriate channels (the welcome channel will explain each channels purpose) 

After Joining

Once you have joined the server, change your nickname to the url where you post your codes. The good thing about discord is that you can have a different nickname for each server, so if you’re in other servers, don’t worry! It won’t change your nickname for those ones.

I’ll ask for your name (or whatever you want to go by) and blog url so I can add you to the directory channel which hosts all of our members blogs for easy access.
