After their Britney Spears medley, Pentatonix ranked second out of the 7 remaining groups in the competition. The group who got ahead was:

THE DARTMOUTH AIRES - performing their Queen medley.

And in third place:

VOCAL POINT - performing their Elvis Presley medley

But let’s not forget the queens:

Well... none of them! Pentatonix blew everyone's minds and came out on top of their 5-group pool for Guilty Pleasure Week.

Pentatonix got third place in their 6-group bracket after performing Your Love Is My Drug by Kesha and Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin.

Comparing Pentatonix with the cream of the crop of their Sing-Off competitors in 2011, you start to narrow down the specific ways in which they managed to stand out in a sea of amazing a cappella performers.

Who were the groups that ranked higher than Pentatonix for their 1st performance?

Rankings weren't really a big deal in this competition except for the groups at the bottom. I'll still be using them to identify who the strongest contenders were week after week.

For their rendition of E.T. by Katy Perry, Pentatonix came in second in a 4-group pool. The groups who got first place in their respective pools were:
