Standing out, part 1.

Comparing Pentatonix with the cream of the crop of their Sing-Off competitors in 2011, you start to narrow down the specific ways in which they managed to stand out in a sea of amazing a cappella performers.

Who were the groups that ranked higher than Pentatonix for their 1st performance?

Rankings weren't really a big deal in this competition except for the groups at the bottom. I'll still be using them to identify who the strongest contenders were week after week.

For their rendition of E.T. by Katy Perry, Pentatonix came in second in a 4-group pool. The groups who got first place in their respective pools were:

DELILAH - performing Grenade

THE DARTMOUTH AIRES - performing Higher Ground

NORTH SHORE - performing Runaround Sue

VOCAL POINT - performing Jump Jive an' Wail
