Malak Redemption AU
Malak goes onto the Endar Spire, begrudgingly, gets fired upon and instead of killing him, they (The Jedi) take his memories and give him fake ones. One of the most difficult things to do is explain how, and why, this man has the same injury as Malak (Not to mention looks like him.) Do they get him a new, more sleek, prosthetic jaw? Leave him...jawless, for a little while, or what?
"Force-Bond" Between Bastila and Malak happens, but no romance, they cannot stand each other. When they do the Leviathan mission (or the revan alternative of it) and Revan sees Malak, Revan becomes hellbent on capturing him. Bastila tries, and fails, to sacrfice herself so that Carth and Malak can escape, because Revan is far more interested in their old apprentice. They yeet her out of their way and go for Malak instead, forcing Carth & Bastila to retreat without him (Much to both of their paranoia) Now, Revan's got Malak back, this is bad, what if they turn Malak to the dark side again?
Revan tells Malak who he is while interrogating/torturing him, and upon this revelation, Malak gets some of his memories back and becomes both furious, at Bastila, the Jedi, and at Revan, for the betrayal(s) and he becomes greatly upset and devastated as he feels he's nothing but a pawn in other people's games and that he's been forced out of ever having a real place in the galaxy. Revan tries to convince Malak to give them a second chance, 'Things will be different this time, Alek, I promise you.' but with his memories, though not all intact, he knows Revan well enough to know that it's a lie. Malak knows he will never get Revan back unless he knocks them down a peg or two, and literally having nothing except for this possibility, or death, he plays along, submerging himself back into the darkness, this time, though, he brings Revan back into the light with him, although it's incredibly difficult and he's basically gotta beat the darkness outta them to be honest without falling irreversibly to the darkside himself.
