At present, the dominant strand of transfeminism does not promote unity and solidarity. Instead, it has fallen into relying upon toxic and often separationist politics- a crude distortion of the founding ideas of transfeminism. Emi Koyama, author of The Transfeminist Manifesto, was explicit in transfeminisms inclusion of all trans people in its movement. She wrote that transfeminism began primarily for trans women and that "it is also open to other queers, intersex people, trans men, non-trans women, non-trans men and others" (2). Her initial publication of The Transfeminist Manifesto was in the year 2001. Two years later, she revisited it and added the following in the postscript of the 2003 edition "I take full blame for the fact that this manifesto is heavily focused on issues male-to-female transsexual people face, while neglecting unique struggles that female-to-male trans people and other transgender and genderqueer people face" (3). Numerous other transfeminist publications recognise the need for greater solidarity between all trans people and for transfeminism to be explicitly inclusive of all transgender and nonbinary people. Talia Bettcher explained in 2017 that "since trans men are also vulnerable to sexism, transphobia, and the interblending thereof, trans feminism would be ill-advised to exclude them from its purview" (4). "Transandrophobia describes the transphobia primarily experienced by trans men. While trans men do experience an intersection of transphobia and misogyny, they also experience an intersection of transphobia and a hatred of men or masculinity. Arguably, much of what is called transmisogyny for the experiences of trans women is also partially an intersection of transphobia and a hatred of men or masculinity. The ideal word for the concept is sadly marred by disingenuous cis men, but to use 'misandry' here tentatively is not an endorsement of any kind of MRA-style politics, but a convenient shorthand for a kind of hatred of men or masculinity which has a significance in (and only in) the context of transphobia. As alluded to, the term transandrophobia is the most popular term presently for the transphobia primarily experienced by trans men. When I was in grade school I used to send emails to biologists and zoologists asking them questions to get answers to include in school projects I was working on, and would cry when they did not respond because I thought I was stupid for thinking that some random kid would ever be deserving of a response from someone who does something as smart and cool and important as *checks notes* studies frog fungus.

Now, at 29, I’m lowkey having a panic attack because my academic email is filled with middle schoolers wanting me to answer their questions about pygmy raccoons and I keep putting off answering them because I’m so overwhelmed with all the other raccoon stuff I have to do.

Like, me and my sister went to a museum, and they had an extra exhibit of butterflies. But it cost £3. So we sighed, walked past, then stopped. We each had £3. We could see the butterflies. And we did it was great. We followed it up with an ice-cream as well because Mum and Dad weren’t there to say no.

I was driving back from a work trip with 2 other people in their early 20s, and we drove past a MacDonalds. One of the others went “Aww man, I’d love a McFlurry.” And the guy driving pulled in to the drive through. It was wild. But it was great.

I went to a park over the weekend and I was thinking “Man, I’d love to hire one of those bikes and cycle round the park.” It took me a few minutes to go “Wait, I can hire one of those bikes!”

I guess what I’m saying is, those impulsive things you wanted to do as a kid - see the dinosaur exhibit, play in the fountains with the other kids, lie in the shade for 2 hours - you can do when you’re an adult. You have to deal with a whole lot of other bull, but at least you can indulge your inner 8 year-old.

if you want cows to live long healthy lives, the easiest way to help is to support smaller local farmers! shaming anyone that eats meat not only does nothing to help animals, it keeps the power n money with all the big wealthy farming conglomerates that do actually mistreat animals!

Art positions needed for intersex visual guide!

Note: This is not a paid position. This is a project made with passion from participants who want to educate the world about intersexuality.

Hello! So, our intersex visual guide project is going well so far. The script is mostly complete (with occasional revisions), and we know how we want the comic to be formatted.

We did the sketches for the genitals/reproductive organ diagrams, and @/pastelroswell is doing the lineart. However, there are many illustrations that still need to be done, and this is where you can come in!

Whether you volunteer for just a single drawing, or for many drawings, all help is appreciated! People under 18 can only volunteer for segment 9, as all the other segments require illustrations of nudity.

We need volunteers for:

[FULLY BOOKED] Segment 1: What is perisex? Humans vs non-humans. (A random example of a necessary drawing for this segment would be a person looking at a censored computer screen with a question mark above their head.) [FULLY BOOKED] Segment 2: Overarching Terms & Information. (A random example of a necessary drawing for this segment would be a group of cosexual animals.) Segment 3: "Mixed" Genitals & Reproductive Organs. Segment 4: Urethral Traits & Penile Traits. Segment 5: Agenital Spectrum & Areproductive Spectrum. Segment 6: Split/Duplicated Reproductive Organs. ^ You won't be drawing the genital/reproductive diagrams, as those are already covered by us & Roswell. Instead, you'll be drawing group of people who have specific traits that we will list for you (ie; a person who has a bifid scrotum with estrogenized traits, and a speech bubble that has XX and a drawing of a mullerian reproductive system.) Segment 7: Hormonal Traits. Segment 8: Chromosomal Variations. (A random example of a necessary drawing for these segments would be a person with dwarfism who has a macropenis, macroorchidism, androgenized traits, and a speech bubble that has XY and a drawing of a wolffian reproductive system.) Segment 9: Co-occurring Traits & Disabilities. (A random example of necessary drawings for these segments would be a person who has severe acne, a person having a seizure, a person exhibiting the symptoms of autism, etc.) [FULLY BOOKED] Segment 10: Coercive Intersex Medical Interventions & Medical Maltreatment. Specifically, you'd be doing the hormone abuse section and/or medical maltreatment section. These drawings are more sensitive in nature, but censored enough as to not be overly disturbing to viewers. (A random example of a necessary drawing for these segments would be a person looking sickly while in the fetal position on a couch, and a bottle of hormones sits next to them, implying that the hormones are causing them to become ill.)

You must be willing to:

1- Draw non-sexual nudity. 2- Draw racially diverse and disabled characters. 3- Have your work shared with the world.

Your work could be:

1- A simple sketch (yes, traditional sketches are welcome too!) that you provide for someone else to do lineart + coloring for. 2- A drawing with lineart that you provide for someone else to do coloring for. 3- A drawing with lineart and coloring.

DO NOT SIGN UP IF you are an exclusionist, radfem, believe that men cannot experience oppression, are anti-endogenic, believe in a disorder being "inherently evil (ie; narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, paraphilic disorders [yes even the "big 3"], psychotic disorders, etc.), use ableist language (ie; misuse "narcissist", misuse "psychotic", misuse "sociopath/psychopath", misuse OCD, misuse bipolar, conflate "paraphile" with predator, etc.), think that love/sympathy/empathy are necessary to be a good person, disrespect religion/spiritual practices, pro-Israel, support Trump/Elon Musk/JK Rowling, anti-choice, or anti-homeless.

We decided people under 18 can participate, they just cannot draw any of the prompts that include nudity. But there are many prompts in segment 9 that do not include nudity!

Speaking of segment 9 - we have a ton of prompts in there that are a simple icon-style! Sort of like this image (which is randomly taken off the internet, not an actual part of the project.)

You do not need to be an expert artist to participate! You also do not need to be educated in intersexuality beforehand!

The thing that continues to fuck me up about the pandemic is that ableds had one month at most of living like us — having their comings and goings limited by outside factors beyond their control — and rather than emerging from that experience with any newfound perspective or empathy, it pushed them into full-blown eugenics. Reducing the calories does not inherently increase the healthiness of your food.

The only way to increase the healthiness of your food is by adding additional nutrients to it.

I saw a video of someone complaining that fucking chicken tikka masala "wasn't healthy" so they made a "healthier version" that was, in fact, LESS HEALTHY. Because they made it with only fat free dairy products, rendering many of the vitamins they would have otherwise gotten from that meal utterly useless, because the body needs fats in order to absorb them properly.

Two tbsp of brown sugar does not render a meal "unhealthy." Full fat dairy products do not render a meal "unhealthy." Calorically dense foods do not render a meal "unhealthy."

If you're really concerned about your health, add more nutrients. Eat extra veggies or extra protein. But you're not actually worried about your health. You're worried about your weight.

You're worried that in the process of eating a homemade meal with lean protein and veggies and a rich, delicious sauce you will consume more energy than you can use today.

You're worried that energy might be stored so that your body can use it when it needs to later.

You're worried that your relationship with gravity might change. You've been taught to worry about that. You've been taught to misconstrue manufacturered body issues as being "health conscious." But you're not doing things to promote health. You're just trying to reduce your energy consumption no matter what.

And I am begging you to consider, that this is not actually a "health conscious" mindset at all.
