also sorry to bring it up again and again and again. but amongst all this kimi talk i would love us again to acknowledge that in lewisās first ever year in f1 he scored 9 successive podiums. he became the first ever driver to finish on the podium in their first 3 races (and went on to get 9) and was leading the world championship by his third race. he took 6 races to win (at a track heād never raced at before) and won 4 races in total in his first year (including a generational win in the rain). he beat the reigning two time world champion and lost the championship due to a faulty gearbox. like you will never. ever. be him
#i already knew how good lewis was in his rookie year#but kimi needing a year in f1 to really process it all really just reaffirm it to me of lewis' greatness as a driver again#considering everything he was able to perform and do all that in his ROOKIE season not second season or third first season of f1#and it's not only kimi#any f1 rookie that comes in it just really shows lewis is one of one#everyone always says he had a good car and that it must've been easy#but f1 has shown especially in recent times having a good car is just one component to being a title challenger and sustaining it#it's a shame what ended up happening but it did and i think lewis learnt a lot from it#and it also helps he ended winning the next year#but i just know they're gonna change the narratives around and say this season of kimi is better than lewis' 2008 and 2007 seasons#the pundits been been waiting to say that about someone
