the arcane fandom can argue about literally anything, but the one thing we all agree on is that ekko, the boy savior, is the most unproblematic character ever, and that we all absolutely love him. while everyone else is caught up in gay tragedy of all kinds, my boy ekko is just over here trying to fix his goddamn tree
one of the things I love about Violet is how expressive her eyes are. you can't tell me she isn't in love with cait when THAT'S HOW SHE LOOKS AT HER. I would defend her from anyone who says she doesn't deserve her ending, give this girl a break for what she went through.
"juliette ferrars is annoying" stfu if you find yourself still waking up after running away from some sick experiment and your own parents send you to an asylum as a teen because they believe you're a danger to everyone and literally everyone is repulsed by you, i don't think you'd make it without going insane ā ļø of course she's scared to form a connection. of course she had a low self-esteem. that's easily understandable.
And then taking you back as if nothing happened only to experiment on you again and erase your memories in order to make you "stronger" bc the experiment for your sister didn't go as planned. so here you are being Plan B and being tortured by some psychotic adults who only cares about their own agenda and don't care if you're bleeding on the goddamn table. But sure, you're the annoying one and insane one for acting like you have trauma and have low self esteem and can't trust anyone.
someone really said she was a 'pick me' like ??š they called her lazy and weak on book 2 as if she wasn't lockdown and literally isolated from anyone. I'm convinced they only read shatter me for aaron smh, which is such a shame tbh she's an interesting character. I think a lot of people expect her to quickly become this badass character who's heartless after one conflict, but Juliette wasn't like that, and they were missing the point.
Pick me? Wtf?? She literally went through hell.. like imagine going through all that and ppl expect you to just let it go and get up like nothing happened?? Like she was tortured over and over again??
Ikr??? and omg they despise her sm in book two. They said that she was being dramatic over a breakup. I was so confused like?? First of all, Adam is the first and the only person whom she form connection with, whom she has the closest thing to relationship and love when she's certain she would never step a foot out of that experiment. He literally run away with her, meet new ppl and ofc she's conflicted to trust or not and she just got out all of that in book one, and they expect her to feel unfazed?? there's so much to unpack personally I wouldn't even make it if I was herš
WTF? Dramatic?? Imagine being imprisoned your whole life and then u also unpacked a lot of shit? And the one person that u thought u could trust, turned out to be toxic?? And then the one person that she thought couldn't be trusted was the one person that believed in her this whole time (ofc except for Kenji too bc he also believed in her) but like if I was Juliette and all of this happened to me, i probably would have just asked to unalive me atp if they will just keep on torturing me and lying to me..
I just know ppl who don't like her only reads for aaron and that 'lyhfml' part smh. I swear Juliette is one of the most relatable character, she's sensitive and realistic. And super overlooked bcs of Aaron, and I like him as well but I wished ppl talked abt her struggles more, (it's crazy how they were seventeen tbh) and how despite all of that in the last book she managed to get things done.

something i can appreciate about the witcher is that the world of it is authentically grimy. Geralt is always streaked with viscera. Jaskier's hair is always greasy. Villages are always muddy. Even the elves are fucking filthy. Everyone except Yennefer who is serving medieval fantasy cunt 24x7

Re-reading the books for more headcanons and stuff to write down here so people get my Yennefer portrayal, and being reminded that the lodge was going to KILL Yennefer and Geralt and MANIPULATE Ciri, and Yennefer didnāt even beg for her own life. She was willing to die a traitor, she just wanted them to spare Geralt and let him and Ciri live in peace. Because theyāre her FAMILY. Because she LOVES THEM. She even tries to get Trissāwho manipulated and took advantage of Geralt under the guise of she cared about himāto spare him, and Triss wonāt do it. So Yennefer says sheāll never forgive her. Likeā¦tell me that Yennefer is a terrible person who didnāt love anyone but herself and power, and I will fight you. Catch these handsā¦

if youāre interested in what is going on in Kazakhstan right now, this article succinctly relays information
President appoints acting prime minister after earlier declaring a state of emergency to tackle widespread demonstrations over rising fuel p
My hometown is in state of emergency right now, for at least the declared 14 days. Internet is spotty, social media is shut down, there is an established curfew and police checkpoints throughout the city. Protests and riots are still going strong, despite what the media says.
Police are siding with the protesters in major cities.
Reports are coming in that the protesters is Almaty and Aktobe took the akimat, which is the key government building of a city. Doors and windows are torn out and smashed.

The thing is, the show makes it sound like Geralt and Yennefer only see each other once in a while, for a night, and then nothing more. When in book canon, there are long periods where they stay together for weeks or months, set up shop in a town, live together for a long time before getting antsy and insecure about their ability, their right to have this, this life, and they go their own way again, until the next time.
And I want to see that, that actual love between them, in the show. Because they do love each other.
oh no just found out that Cavill tried to ask the writers to adapt the show more faithfully?? I felt so bad for this man, he's so into this character and the books, what a waste, what a shame- to lose and waste all that. It's just so heartbreaking when you're a fan of all about this- and they just ruined it. Throw the whole plot, replace it with a new one that doesn't even match the character. I feel so bad for him, I really do.
Thinking about how Yen lost something after Sodden - she thought it was her chaos - but:
"Fire is a forbidden source because it usually consumes those that draw from it. Unless youāre very talented. Then the body can withstand it. But it consumes the soul."
- Rience, S2 E05
and then:
"My wounds wouldnāt heal⦠because magic wasnāt what I was missing."
- Yennefer, S2 E08
When Yen realised she would sacrifice anything for Ciri, even her own life. That's when she got her magic back; when she found the missing piece of her soul. Ciri completes her.
the way yencahir just covered almost every single trope from a book i have yet to see but wish to see:
ā established character arcs long before meeting each other
ā one is the villain and other a gray hero
ā they become tense allies forced to depend on another
ā that allyship becomes something more and represents what couldāve been until they go their separate ways
