Those of you who follow me on instagram and twitter will be aware that over the last few months i have been writing and drawing a comic. Well that comic is now finished, back from the printers and ready to head towards your hands. Up there is a four page preview of the book.

The Great Salt Lake is a story i’ve had circling my head for a year or so, and in it’s simplest form it’s about a man lost at sea, looking for a way home. I wanted it to be a physical object that justified it’s existence, and It was printed by the quite frankly wonderful Calverts and has that lovely fresh print litho smell that old school print enthusiasts will get excited about.
Pre orders will be posted out at the end of November, so if you’re coming to Thought Bubble in Leeds next week, that’ll be your first opportunity to get one in hand (and you can come and say hello to me too!), but the rest of you can order it here.
- £5 GBP (plus shipping)
- 28pp
- full color cover, black and white interior
- litho printed by Calverts in London
- edition of 750

That Alan Moore screen grab. Holy shit.
Every time I see this picture I wonder "is this Photoshopped?" and then I realize that I don't care because it's still great.
On this day, three years ago, Donna and Tom introduced the world to “Treat Yo Self Day.”
Life has never been the same.
Truly.
I went to Naughty Dog's 30th anniversary show at Gallery Nucleus tonight and saw some beautiful work from one of, if not THE, best video game studio in the world.
But I mostly took pictures of fun tribute pieces contributed by other artists, since all of the Naughty Dog concept art is nicely printed in books. So these works must suffer terrible phone photos. The gallery was packed and though I wanted so badly to buy the $100 book/??? (lithographs? I have no idea what else was in that slip case), I couldn't afford such things. But I saw many of the key creators from the studio and that was cool.
I also stood in line behind two people talking about lots of things I like, but I didn't want to be rude and butt into the conversation. Why is it so difficult to meet people in a city so fucking huge? Ugh.
Just finished inking issue 06 of the new Ms Marvel, which has been a WHOLE lot of fun. Willow and Sana are doing great things with the book, and the scripts I’ve gotten should make you squeal with delight if you’re the squealing type. Or just smile contentedly if you’re not. Here’s the instagram roundup of the inks.
One more issue to go and then I’m on Necropolis full time!

Grill Em All’s Burger Of The Month:
The Joey Belladonna - house made pizza bagel topped w mozz and pepperoni, deep fried mozz, arugula, peperoncini aioli, and our homemade red sauce, with a half pound burg. Ulitimate blend of pizza and burger!
This burger doesn't interest me, but I swear this place would kill me if I let it. Best burgers I've had in LA.

This all sounds so made up
"We’re a peculiar people. That’s how the Bible describes us." So am I missing something or is he saying the Bible describes people from the American south? Makes sense.
