2/09/2021: whilst i can't say i'vr taken a study break these past few weeks, i've not documented it as much as it's been sporadic. but it's September now and we're back on that grind! my books are slowly arriving for the new term (second hand bcs ya girl is broke) and i'm working my way through them with my trusty iced coffee

hey all!

after seeing the staff's stupid tumblr+ announcement or whatever the heck they're talking about, i thought i'd hop on here and give my two pennies worth.

this blog will forever and always be 100% free. i am considering other entrepreneur opportunities but that lies WAY outside of making my still little tumblr posts paid

i personally thing that @staff 's idea is stupid and there are so many other things that need to be fixed first.

16/07/21: LONDON DAY 1: i really wanted to share with you guys what i brought today because i absolutely love it! the obvious muji snacks to british museum souvenirs and face masks!

Id never been to the british museum before and i had so much fun, especially in the egyptian wing yanno, cus i'm an egyptian nerd.

also shout out to bookmarks the socialist bookshop near the british museum, they exclusively sell queer, trans and socialist literature and merch for such reasonable prices! check em out next time youre around it!!

18/05/21: i'm... back....

so the past month or so has been shit tbh, my mental health has been through the floor. that's why i've not been posting. i'm feeling better now though and since the uk lockdown rules have lifted slightly i've headed to do some work in starbucks. honestly still anxious about being out but i'm working my way out of the house slowly.

life update: i quit my job, and am simply trying to finish uni

24/03/2021: ohh angles and stuff! today i boosted my skills as a at home barista and have begun my essay properly using a cool new close reading planning technique i made up (i mean it's probs been done before but let me have this).

today is a rough one, asmr and miranda are getting me through as well as listing in my head all the cool things i want to see and do to keep myself holding on. at this point idem that that are small/ silly/ stupidly nerdy, they are thoughts that make me happy, and to me that's okay.

p.s. that hand moisturiser is amazing and smells so good too

17/03/21: not even Friday and i got that wine whilst finishing source finding for the day. seriously tho i think my partner for introducing me to this way of paraphrasing it's a lifesaver!

today was a producive but slow one, but i've worked, and baked so i am happy.

22/02/21: Hellooo everyone!!

so a lot of you follow me now and i am so grateful for that! and i can't follow you back as this is a secondary blog page! i didnt realise that when i set this up nearly two years ago and i do not think the redirect is working :(

i am considering restarting my blog as a primary account and posting there instead, keeping this blog live incase i need to refer back to it!

18/02/21: study and starfish!

today i started my dissertation diary where i shall keep a detailed record of everything i need for my dissertation- texts i've read, texts to get from the library, questions, ideas, feedback etc...

i then went for a walk and saw a starfish and was a model for my partner's photography! it was a very fun day!

i'm also a big advocate for ASMR whilst studying if you like ASMR that is, it helps keep me relaxed by focused 😊

12/02/21: today was an exciting day as i attended my first ever outside research seminar! NU held a talk with speaker Dr Sarah Burton on Dark Academia and the intellectual which was fascinating! i'm 100% a blend of the DA and scholarly academia aesthetics!

i also organised an "academic grab basket" which contains everything needed for a quick study session and all the texts i currently need for my research and my seminars! (look at that horrifying amount of books in the background i need for dissertation prep 🙃)

10/02/21: sat in the library with a bunch of grapes and books feeling like some alt verson of the garden of eden 😂

getting a start on that dissertation literature and background reading for one of my modules.

(p.s. my library is covid secure, it requres a booked space, masks and a negative covid test to enter. all the cool academics stay covid safe 😎)
