happy pride month. everyone go read "she loves to cook, and she loves to eat" nyao
the manga artist is an advocate for LGBTQ rights in japan and promotes events. the series is so heartwarming and i've reread each volume out so far several times.
essentially, it's about one woman who loves to cook large, hearty meals but cannot cook them because she often eats alone, and another woman who eats as much as she wants because she once lived in a conservative patriarchal home where her meals' serving sizes were incredibly limited while the men of her family ate as much as they wanted.
they discover that they're lesbians through their genuine love for each other, but other characters also confront their relationships with their sexuality, how they face the act of eating, and how the patriarchy impacts them.
it's my favorite queer manga tbh.
