A while back, I visited my cousin and tried her 8-shaft floor loom for the first time. One throw of the shuttle and I was hooked. Months later, I bought my own loom, expecting a relaxing hobby. What I got instead was an unexpected teacher.

Weaving on an 8-shaft loom is slow, deliberate, and unforgiving. There’s no undo button. No fast-forward. A single mistake in the threading can cost you hours of work. Yet somewhere between the rhythm of the shuttle, the thump of the beater, and the steady growth of cloth, I started learning real patience. The kind that actually changes how you work and live.

I discovered that some things cannot be rushed, that progress is often invisible until it suddenly isn’t, and that there’s deep satisfaction in doing small things carefully and consistently.
